Seven

Seth Owens, co-owner of Club Alias, has always taken full-advantage of the endless supply of willing submissives who frequent his high-end establishment. But he’s never trusted anyone enough to let them get to know the man beneath the leather mask.

Twyla Quill has always been the good girl, the responsible one, which has left her no time to indulge in the many pleasures of life—much less a relationship.

When Twyla finally convinces her sister to leave her abusive boyfriend, they have no choice but to move across the country and hide out, away from the monster determined to get her sister back. With their savings quickly running out, Twyla takes a position at the local sex shop—where she meets Seth, a man who is all too willing to show her what she's been missing out on.

What happens when the witty Dom meets the sweet new girl in town? Sparks fly and a whirlwind romance neither ever saw coming begins. But will Seth be able to protect the woman he considers his?

Seven is a spinoff of The Confession Duet, but can be read as a stand alone.

What to say about this book?
It wasn’t bad per se. It just isn’t for me. The first 40 % was fun, hilarious and I enjoyed every moment of. Then it seemed to go downhill from there. I have mixed emotions. I liked it and I didn’t. The writing style is simple but good and entertaining especially with all the pop culture references. One of my favorites was mentioned. Friends. And I learnt something I now know where that’s what she said comes from. Yeah. We don’t have The Office where I live.

Seth/Master Seven lives and breathes his BDSM club that is until he needs to make a run to Toys for Twats to stock up. Where he meets the new employee, and is smitten with her from the start.

Seth is too jovial. He is a happy go lucky kind of guy. A ray of sunshine and he annoyed with his sunny disposition. He is a kind and a good man but just too happy.

Twyla is a chemical engineer but now works selling sex toys. She has no experience with the toys and is yes you guessed it still a virgin at the age of 24. She left everything behind so that her sister could live her abusive relationship.

I’m quite ambivalent about her so I can’t really say anything about her. Nothing really stuck out.
There was good chemistry and build up until it all was rushed and the ILY dropped pretty quick from both of them. So, you could say that is instalove/lust.

A lot of things were glossed over IMO. The plot could have been more in depth and fleshed out. It’s like the author didn’t even scratch the surface. Another thing that bothered me were unnecessary time jumps. Either flesh it out more or don’t tell us how much time has passed. People will fixate on that time line.

This is where my believability muscle kind of clicked on or out cause they also run a security business as well. Does Seth ever sleep? Day job and night job? Even if he is a child prodigy.

This author isn’t for me but in the grand scheme of things that doesn’t mean squat.

Ohhh, my first by K.D. Robichaux! And I adored it! Just the right mix between funny and sweet and romance and action and suspense. Seth, Master Seven, was adorable! As himself he was sweet and funny and as his Master Seven persona he was hot and still caring. How he got his name had me cracking up! I remember that scene and LOVE it! Twyla as adorable as well with her innocence and blushing.

I'd really like to read Doc's book after meeting him in here ;)

I shouldn't be surprised that I loved this book.

I loved the Confessions Duet about side characters to this standalone story.

Don't tell Corbin (who is still my main man!) but I loved everything about this story. I'm so happy that Seth found his one. And that Twyla found someone period.

And I did not miss the opening to Doc's story and all I can say is BRING IT ON!!

Full confession, ever since I had started reading this, I have had 7 by Prince stuck in my head. And even as I write this review, it's playing in my head.

Twyla and her sister have run from her sister’s abusive ex. Twyla used to be a hugely impressive engineer but she can’t do that without bringing attention to herself and her sister. So she looks for any job she can and begs to take one at an adult store, which is funny because she didn’t really indulge in dating and relationships. There she meets Seth who is buying some items.

Seth is a Dom at Club Alias with his friends and partners. He is going to the adult store to buy some things from the shop when he is immediately interested in the newest and sweetest employee, Twyla. He takes it upon himself to teach her about the new offerings at her job and finds himself truly interested in her and not just her body.

This was my first read of KD Robichaux but it definitely won’t be my last! It was good, funny, hot and just kept me interested. Plus, it has Prince stuck in my head, so win-win right?

This was really fun.

I love Seth.
His sense of humor is absolutely priceless.

Plus his eagerness to show her all the things he loves so they can enjoy it all together is completely adorable and endearing as fuck.

The sex was hot and steamy, though way less kinky than I anticipated considering Seven and what he owns.
Still.

I had a fantastic time, and I’m glad I read it.

Definitely check TWs. Some things happen on page that are pretty traumatic.

I’m so glad I’ve finally gotten into this author.
I totally appreciate her humor.

Oh lord so this book had me up half the night just so I could finish it because once I finally got to start it I couldn't put it down. And let me start off also by saying that it can be read as a stand alone but I'm so glad that I first read the Confession Duet and had meet Seth/Seven in it. But I'm so glad to get to know him so much better in this book and to learn why they call him Seven. And let's just say that you really get pulled into this book and you will fall in love with Seth's attitude. He is such a ham and that comes across so much in Kayla's writing. The background stories on both characters are there and you know exactly who they are and where they have come from there is nothing missing from this book. The side characters of course we've met some if you've read The Confession Duet but if not they are all so spot on and supporting. And the next story I do believe is set up perfectly and I hope I'm right because that would be awesome!! But I'm loving this series and I highly recommend this book!! And on top of that Justin is the perfect cover and muse for this book!!!

I loved this book! It was the second I’ve read by KD Robichaux in the Club Alias series and I really love the characters.

Seth is such a funny and sweet character and when he changes to his Dom side as Seven…. WATCH OUT! Get ready for your panties to melt! The fact that he quotes song lyrics and movie quotes definitely helps with his charm.

This book had lots of spice and chemistry but also an HEA and so much more. I loved it!

***Advance copy received from author for honest review***

This is the first book that I have read by Kd RobichauxKd Robichaux and now I am thinking what else have I missed? I LOVED everything about this book. The characters, the sexiness, the chemistry between Seth and Twyla! EVERYTHING!

So, since this is the first book I have read by KD Robichaux that means I didn't get the pleasure of knowing anything about these characters. I was a KD Robichaux virgin. Well I just have to say that now that my cherry is popped I will definitely be diving in to some more of her books! The way she writes just draws you into the story. Plus the characters aren't your everyday characters. You have Seth who is a genius (literally) and a wiz on computers is an owner of a sex club and then you have Twyla who is a chemical engineer (hello brains!) that works in a sex toy shop! What more can you ask for?

Great book, great writing, draws you in and you won't want to put it down. Love Seth and Twyla and can't wait to read the The Confession Duet: Boxed Set!

SEVEN... SEVEN... SEVEN is a FIVE... FIVE... FIVE STAR read for me.
What can I say? I loved this book -- You had me at “You are looking at the newest sales associate at ...!” You'll have to read it to find that one out.

You could describe Seth Owens aka SEVEN in a lot of ways: Dominant, deliciously handsome, charming and just down right sexy as F...ictional boyfriends are so hot. Twyla Quill is not to be outdone though. She may be quiet and reserved but this little temptress has a sassy sense of humour and sure does get drawn out of her shell by this irresistible hunk.
Seth's first meeting with Twyla sets the tone for the great humour in this book. Oh boy, did I crack up laughing.
Twyla's inexperience with all things sexual leads her into Seth's clutches. Not only is she a little reluctant but she's intrigued to find out what he'll teach her.
It’s not just Twyla embarking on a new life and adventure, but this story includes her abused sister, Astrid, and members of Club Alias joining them for the ride.
Miss KD throws in a sprinkling of suspense, a dash of drama, three quarters of a cup of adventure, and some shot glasses full of naughty scenes to boot. That's a recipe for a damn good read.
This is not the first time I have read one of her books. I have been lucky enough to have watched her grow from the start and she has become one of my favourite authors. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves this kind of read. You won’t regret it.

(3.5 stars)

Twyla and her sister, Astrid, are on the run from Astrid's husband. Having literally run away in the middle of the night, they sort of just picked a spot on the map and went there to start over. Now Twyla has to figure out some sort of job, and what she comes up with is working at an adult toy store. Only problem is that Twyla has never used any of the items, as she is a virgin. When Seven/Seth comes into the store and sees just how flustered and cute Twyla is, he offers his services in helping her learn more about the items she is selling. But is this offer to good to be true? What exactly does he want in return? When it comes about that he is just a nice guy that is trying to help, Twyla starts to trust a little more, and maybe he can help her with the little problem of her virginity. When Astrid's husband shows up, will Seven/Seth be able to keep her safe? Or will the girls have to run again?

This book has a lot going on, first its the running from an abusive ex, then the whole I need a job so I'm going to apply at a sex shop even though I have no clue what anything is for. Then we add in Seven/Seth, the funny guy with a kinky side. I didn't see him as a Dom really, just a funny guy with a kinky side. Seven/Seth who wants to introduce Twyla into the world of BDSM, cause if you're going in, might as well go all in. There are a couple of surprises in this book as well but I can't reveal all the secrets. This was an ok read, TBH the BDSM part was the most distracting, I give this 3.5 stars.

This is a classic case of "this book is simply not for me". I was lured to this book through a tiktok the author posted about how she wrote a steamy romance about one of her friends and my curiosity was piqued. This book just moved too quickly for me and had a lot of the tropes I hated. For starters, I hate pop culture references in books. They often take me out of the book so fast and too many of them can ruin a book for me because of that. Seven was DRIPPING with pop culture references. It was 90% of Seth's personality. And while I get that this character was inspired by a real person, and I'm sure that's his actual personality, when I have to read about it, it just feels like lazy writing. I tried really hard to like it, and I wanted to give it at least 2 stars, but there was something that happened that made me put it firmly in the 1 star category. For as short as this book is, it took me an exorbitant amount of time to read. Also, I do have to give the author kudos on writing a BDSM romance book based on one of her friends because I'd choose death before I did that with any of my friends.

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book follows the character Seth from the Confession Duet novels. You do not need to read those as this is a stand alone novel.

In this novel we have Twyla, and Astrid who are sisters. Twyla steals her sister Astrid away in the middle of the night. Twyla and Astrid drive until they are gone from their past lives. Twyla has always been into learning and moving. Twyla is a Chemical Engineer. She loves to learn and be busy. Twyla has never had 'down' time. She is so naive and good natured.

Seth, is a computer geek. He is so fun loving and kind. Seth was a teenage child prodigy. He went to MIT as a 12 yr old boy. Seth has been in the BDSM world for awhile. He is a 'Master' Dom, he usually teaches the newer Dom's and Sub's the way. He is a Dom, in the BDSM club he owns and operates. He is someone who can quote movies and TV shows all day long.

Twyla needs to work. Keeping idle is something she's not use to doing. Twyla goes to a business asking for work. However we find Twyla in a bind of sorts. Twyla has never seen BDSM toys or toys of any kind actually. She is now an employee of a local adult sex toy store. Her first customer happens to walk in with a list of items he needs. As she is helping him with the shopping list Twyla becomes redder and redder by the minute. Of course it has to Seth. Seth tries to break her serious nature deemer.

Will Twyla and Seth be able to keep their new found friendship? Will Astrid try to break them apart as she is unhappy with her sisters new found love? Will both sisters be able to love and trust again?

When I read The Confessions Duet, I was hoping that we would get stories about the other founding members of Club Alias. I was elated to see that Seven was next up. The quiet computer geek, the one behind the scenes, the creator of Club Alias, and the Dom Educator himself.

Seth ‘Seven’ Owens, the child prodigy, and owner of Club Alias, leaves the comfort of his walls for two reasons, food and supplies for the club. On a typical supply run, which turns out to be anything but typical, he runs into Twyla, the new girl at the ‘store’. What he doesn’t realize is that she is so green in her knowledge of toys, that she has absolutely no clue and he is going to have so much fun teaching her.

Twyla, an actual engineer, has no other worldly knowledge, not even a Facebook account. She is the epitome of clueless when it comes to sex and anything about it, but she is trying her hardest to sell toys and accessories to accentuate one’s sex life. When she meets Seth, her world turns upside down.

It is when her sister’s husband comes to find her that things get really fun, Seth’s security buddies and their skills are needed to help protect Twy and her sister Astrid.

This book had me cracking up at points and wiping the steam off my forehead in others. Talk about hot chemistry right from the start

I devoured this story in a day. In this story you are meeting Seth/Seven. Love his sense of humor, quick wit, his incredible knowledge of the BDSM world, and his love of movies and movie lines. Twyla is a strong and intelligent woman who needs to help her sister in the worst way. To get them to a safe place. Seth and Twyla have an instant and strong connection to one another. They didn't realize that they have more in common then they thought. This story is witty and quarky, but has oh so sexy and steamy scenes. I've read so many romance and BDSM books, that I have become desensitized. After reading some of the scenes in this story, and got sucked in by what the characters were doing, I actually got goosebumps and felt it. This story shows the authors personality and sense of humor. I can not wait to read Doc's story.

I don’t entirely know what I was expecting from a BDSM Master and a timid adult toy store cashier hitting it off, but it definitely wasn’t the adorableness that is Seven. This book is super cute!

As she snuggles into my side, it makes me realize home doesn’t necessarily have to be a place, but a person, and it’s becoming clear she’s that for me.

Running from an abusive ex, Twyla rescues her sister and they drive across the country to a random town in a random state. Enter Seth, the funny pop culture and tech guru who has an unexpected darker side.

The writing was flawless, the story wraps up nicely, and the characters are surprisingly realistic and relatable on so many levels. Plus this book normalizes the fact that everyone has different tastes and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. This is my first K.D. Robichaux book, but it definitely won’t be my last!

I first met Seth/Seven in the Confessed Duet, so I was very excited to get his story. What I didn't expect was how funny he is and how many times I laughed out loud reading this book.
Just the premise of the book is funny! Twyla sweet, shy, naive, innocent girl meets, Seth BDMS extraordinaire.
I loved watching him teach her about "toys" and explaining how "useful" they were. She was completely inexperienced and it made her reactions priceless!!
To say they came together and changed each other's lives is a total understatement. Together they became two different people.
Along with the comedy, the love story and the steam we got a bit of a suspense story involving her sister who she was completely devoted to. It made for a book that I hated to see end. I am greedy and wanted more but the epilogue left me with a smile. Can't wait for the next one!

I was completely intrigued in the beginning of this book. Why is he called Seven and how are these two going to have anything in common. That quickly lead to anticipation. I could not wait for the next funny bit or try and find the next movie quote. I'm much like Twyla in the beginning I'm crap on movie quotes but love that little extra that was in there as their thing. Toes was one of the funniest parts. (Just have to read it to know)

I feel like maybe a lot of research went into these books before they were wrote. I always enjoy a book more when I feel like the author took time to get at least the big points right.

KD Robichaux has become one I will get the book with reading the blurb. This time she made mention of another author in her acknowledgments at the end (yes I read those) that I can't wait to read a few books from now.

A TEN I GIVE IT A FUCKIN 10
Holy guacamole this book is amazeballs.... I love how Seth can be this hard core Dom and then with one meeting with the quiet nerdy Twyla and he's a goner... She flipped his whole world upside down in the best of ways. I loved how he was so incredibly sweet and romantic one minute and the next he was cracking jokes. He is incredibly loyal to his "family" but its Twy that brings out the best in him.. As does he bring out the best in her...

I just adored this book. Seth is an awesome character as well as Twyla. Their story is sweet yet raw. Such emotions when you read their story. I also enjoyed the movie quotes and banter. Astrid is Twyla sister and they have such a bond. Doc is in here quite a bit and I loved his character. looking forward to meeting more characters.

Seven by K.D. Robichaux is a spin-off from the Confession Duet and features another one of the four owners of Club Alias. Club Alias is a very high end BDSM club that charges a five figure membership fee and requires all it's members to submit to extensive psychological screening and allow all their play rooms to be recorded for safety. While Club Alias is lucrative on it's own it serves as a cover for their other business dealings as Imperium Security which is their true passion.
Seth Owens was a child prodigy turned computer genius with a Masters from MIT by the age of twenty. Never having much control over things when he was younger he decided to try BDSM as a way to gain the control he missed out on. Everything just clicked into place for him and he quickly became a Master Dominant known as - Seven - specializing in the training of submissives. While Seth / Seven is a genius and a dominant he is still a fun loving, jokester who rarely leaves the top floor loft apartment of Club Alias except to stock the supply of odds and ends the club may need. On one such trip to the store Seth runs into the new girl and falls hard and fast for the innocent little thing that doesn't know her vibrators from her plugs.
Twyla Quill is a chemical engineer that uprooted her entire life to save her sister from an abusive boyfriend. They left in the dead of the night and moved across the country to get away from the man that used her sister as a punching bag. The only problem is chemical engineering jobs aren't really something that you can find on the fly and with them almost being out of money Twyla decides to take any job she can find. Working in a sex toy shop when you have no idea what the toys are used for isn't ideal, but she is willing to learn. Then while at work the nicest, sexiest man Twyla had ever seen offered to give her lessons in a helpful, non-creepy way. What could possibly go wrong?
This book was full of laugh-out-loud moments from start to finish that balanced out the serious to make this one I truly enjoyed. Twyla and Seth were perfect for each other both in the club and out of it. Can't wait to read Doc's book next :)

Surprisingly good

So usually I don't like the stories where the H was a ho before he met the h (who is always a virgin) but they get together and he's reformed, blah, blah, blah.

This one was actually good. Neither of the characters annoyed me, and their sexual history wasn't the center of the story, so bonus points.

Refreshing comedic relief to a usually serious bdsm and D/s encounters. I still feel like the first story of the series has more depth and character growth, but this one was fun. Seven may be my favorite character!

I loved this book! K.D. Robichaux did not disappoint. Seven had me in tears, LMAO, on the edge of my seat and of course hot and flushed from the erotic scenes. Seven/Seth was the perfect mix of passionate and humorous, gentle and loving. I could never in a million years have guessed how he came to have Seven as his Dom name. Very cleaver!
