Sometimes half an inch is all that stands between life and death.
Abraham Snow’s career ended with a single shot. Left for dead, the undercover operative barely survived an assassin’s bullet. After a long and painful recovery, Snow retires. He returns home to rest and recuperate only to get swept up in the family business, one just as dangerous as his previous profession. When he thwarts an assassination attempt on a diplomat that endangers his sister, Snow leaps into action to keep his family out of a highly trained killer’s crosshairs.
SNOW FALLS is the first book in the continuing adventures of Abraham Snow.
What a disappointment. First it's not a novel. It's a novella, less than 100 pages. The plot is simplistic. A wounded government agent comes home to Atlanta to recuperate. He visits his grandfather, who just happens to run a security consulting firm. While there he gets involved with the pursuit of an assassin. Dialogue sophomoric.
And then there's the ending, leading into the next volume of this. I'll pass.
Undercover Homeland Security agent Abraham Snow returns home outside Atlanta after almost dying in a shootout. AS he considers joining the family security business, he stops an assassination in progress in a large hotel. The bottom line is I liked Abraham Snow and his family and I liked their style. So, onward to Book #2 in the series.
A fast-paced action novella that introduces us to Abraham Snow, a spy who tries to retire after recovering from an almost-fatal bullet shot – but circumstances (and his family) conspire to keep him from doing so. Snow’s grandfather Archer Snow is an amazing character, and I hope in future books in this series we’ll see more of his backstory. DragonCon fans will recognize the Atlanta hotel where most of the action takes place. Highly recommended!
Snow Falls is about a military man finding his new place in life when he is thrust back into active duty. It sets up an interesting family dynamic and a cast of adversaries for the next books of the series while providing a fun, easy read. The main character, Abraham Snow, is a Jack Ryan type in that he makes a good perspective for readers to follow into whatever plot is set before him.
Snow Falls - Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of: Stir, Laugh, Repeat; Think With Your Taste Buds; and A Book and A Dish
Abraham Snow wasn't the superstitious type. That said, but spending so much time undercover, always under the threat of being found out, had made him sensitive to his surroundings It was little more than intuition, a hunch that started as a tickle at the base of his brain. He had learned to listen to those hunches. More than once they had saved his life. Standing in the middle of the lobby of that beautiful five-star hotel, surrounded by enough security to protect a small nation, that familiar warning make itself heard. Whatever it was that set him on edge wasn't readily apparent. Maybe his subconscious had picked up on something that his conscious mind hadn't yet detected. He couldn't explain it, but there was danger lurking nearby.
Like his grandfather Archer Snow, Abraham Snow was one for excitement that took him deep undercover for any job he undertook. But all things must come to an end so when someone sells him out to the target he was trying to get close to, his life almost came to an end, leaving him no choice but to head to his grandfathers' home for a little R and R.
What Snow didn't expect was the hotel his grandfather's family business was protecting to be hit by a sniper. Their target being no one other than Owen Salizar, owner of Salizar Biotechnix. A man the U.S. had been after for some time for laundering cash and supporting multiple terrorist groups and militant governments in exchange for business favors. So far they haven't had enough proof to shut him down.
This book took me one night to read. It is a short book but it's also one that was packed with action and I had a bit of trouble putting it down until finished. It is book one in a series and left me wanting to know more about the man that almost killed Snow, as well as the sniper who went after Salizar. You can bet I'll dig into book two in the near future.
The story opens with our main character, Abraham Snow, deep undercover. His cover is blown and he is left for dead. After a lengthy recovery he heads to his grandfather’s home to rest and decide what to do with his life. Instead of a little rest he becomes involved in a dangerous situation thanks to his family business. Relying on instinct and training he proves to himself and others that he still has what it takes to get the bad guys.
Bobby Nash takes us on a thrill ride in Snow Falls. Action, adventure, intrigue, and a touch of humor will keep you reading until the end. I forecast more Snow in my future.
Like a pilot for your new favorite TV show. I'm really looking forward to further adventures with Abraham Snow. (Now if we could just get Bobby Nash on a weekly schedule.)
Harkening back to the shows of the 80s like Magnum PI and The A-Team, Snow Falls is a fun action adventure filled with quick-witted one-liners, gun fights, assassination attempts, and of course a femme fatale. Definitely a great read to pick up.
Undercover agent Abraham Snow, has been compromised and left for dead. After recovering, he feels the need to return home and reconnect with his real life. Good introduction to Snow, as he ends up in the middle of an assassination attempt and ends up having to protect a suspected terrorist.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a fast paced, action filled novella that feels like an 80s/90s action show. I was hard pressed to not devour it in one sitting!
