The All Love Trilogy #1

All in for Love: A Spiritual Adventure

Rate this book
High on a New Mexico mesa top in a tiny mud hut, Lesley King, while on assignment for a magazine, reaches out her hand to pick up a priceless Acoma pot and it crumbles between her fingers. This marks the beginning of a tumultuous journey when her life, like the pot, falls apart. For nearly two decades Lesley has pursued her passion as a travel writer. Her career is the mate she never married, the child she never birthed. But it no longer nourishes her.

While her existence as she knows it dies, her mother, who is her best friend, enters her final days. Lesley, fearful about these losses, knows she has to create a life that will support her body and heart, but she can't imagine how. As her savings dwindle she has no choice but to turn to the spiritual power within. She becomes "all in for love."

Written with vivid prose, a bit of lyrical poetry, and the mystical essence of works by Rumi and Hafiz, this blog-to-book story illustrates the beauty of letting go of the old to usher in the new.

I have just completed Lesley S. King's newest book, All IN FOR LOVE, and found it to be one of the most powerful and enlightening books I have ever read on true spirituality! The author takes the reader on a spiritual adventure as you follow her living her life under the tutelage of a Perfect Master or Sat Guru, and how she has devoted her attention to living the inner life or the sojourn of soul inward in consciousness in her pursuit of Self and God Realization. This author is truly, "All In For love," as she has surreneded her will to that of the Divine's and is now in the process of merging her soul (consciousness) with God's will and essence. I know the reader will really enjoy Lesley's writing style too. I loved it so much from reading one of her other books a few years ago called, The Baby Pact, that I took a writing course from Lesley which she teaches for aspiring writers at her website and blog called, The Inner Adventure, which can be found at, www.lesleysking.com. Finally for anyone who is interested in learning from a devotee of a Perfect Master in how to live their life not through their lower self or ego, but from the highest point of view, that from the Divine itself, this book is a must read! "All in for Love" was a somewhat odd book. King has taken events from her life and goes through them with reflections on how she finds strength from what she calls the "Beloved." It is unclear what this is considered to be, but as she sometimes says "Divine," "God," and "He," my assumption is that this is somewhat Christian in leaning. It seems that whenever she hits the smallest snags in her life, she refers to her inner strength and feelings as being God. This presence/feeling is not overtly described or clarified, so it reads as a little odd. This "Beloved" also does small tasks, such as write her articles (she is a travel writer). On the back, she calls this a "divine power within." I am not sure that I got that this was at all connected to her/coming from her, but maybe I do not understand this seemingly random spirituality. The writing is straightforward and there is some poetry. However, I got a little lost in the seemingly unconnected and random stories of her life, and I found that overall, this book was a miss for me. Please note that I received this through a goodreads giveaway. All opinions are my own.

Pros: Writing and language is easily understood and simplistic, overall writing style is really beautiful
Cons: I'm not a spiritual person and as so this book really fell flat to me, it felt repetitive, and was over zealous with the spiritual theme
Disclaimer: 3 stars is not a bad rating. The book is really average to me and gets the average review. Also, I won this in a goodreads giveaway.
