Running into her sexy ex-boyfriend and finding out the man she's about to marry is much more than he appears to be--is just the tip of the broom for this witch.
When she learns her entire life has been one big web of deceit created by those who've claimed to love her--things get really hairy.
With her hunky and maybe a bit delusional former flame believing he's a werewolf and her MATE and knowing her entire town's safety is at risk, Selena must find a way to kick some demon ass, accept her fate and save her friends before it's too late. With a lot of evil running through her veins, she'll fight tooth and nail to get rid of the demonic hold on her beloved town. Even if it means sacrificing herself to save the very people who've lied to her for twenty-five years.

I have a special fondness for stories that include witches. I find witchcraft and magic to be interesting. So when I started reading Wicked By Nature, I was deeply captivated by the witches, the demons, and their really interesting paranormal powers. I have to admit I had some major issues trying to set this book down and I ended up staying up a little later than normal to find out how this book would end.
Selena Barnes has had a rough few years. She has lost her parents, the town that she thought was full of friends has turned against her, she hasn't spoken to her best friend in years, and her fiance’, Shawn Richardson is out of town on business. To top that all off she is trying to pull together the finishing touches of their soon to be wedding. Everything is going wrong for this poor girl.
Then things get worse, I hate to tell you too much but she finds out a few secrets that totally turn her life upside down and sideways. Wow, is really all I can say about where this story line goes. There is so much drama and suspense that I could not help but quickly turn the pages to see what in the world was going to happen next.
One thing I really liked was Selena relationship with her familiar, her cat is funny and so protective of Selena.
The other things I really liked is that when everything starts to fall apart her best friends Kelly and Keith Jacobs step in to help her. They have a really great connections and they are a huge help.
This is the first chance I have had to read any work by Madison Sevier . I have a couple more of her books in my to be read pile and I'm anxious to get to them after reading Wicked By Nature.
If you enjoy stories about witches and paranormal stories you really should check this one out. If you are already a fan of Ms. Sevier then you should hurry and grab a copy of this book.
I was given the opportunity to read this book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Wicked By Nature.
received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
I am trying to broaden my reading list, and I'm glad I stepped outside of the smutty love stories. Wicked by Nature, by Madison Sevier as a paranormal romance, full of witches, demons, and wolves. Yes I said it, but don't leave my review yet..this is not your typical paranormal book.
We meet Selena Barnes, a young woman that comes from a long line of witches. When her parents were killed in a magical accident, she surrendered her powers and kept them a secret from her fiance’, Shawn Richardson.
In the little town of Salem Ridge, Selena is a outcast for surrendering her powers. Her fiance, Shawn, is in a high financial position in the town, and isn't all he makes out to be. The entire town thinks Selena and foolish, and she can't figure out why so many people do not like Shawn.
Shawn is out of town on business, and Selena is trying to pull together the finishing touches of their soon to be wedding, when Selena receives an email that will change her entire view of everything. Selena finally learns what her family and the entire town sees in Shawn, as well as a few other family secrets. Selena even falls in love with someone from her past, her "soul mate."
When Selena comes face to face with the Elder Council, she has to decide, is she Wicked by Nature?
On another note, as another review mentions, "One thing I really liked was Selena relationship with her familiar, her cat is funny and so protective of Selena." I agree, I love the relationship that Selena has with her familiar and the banter between the two.
I enjoyed reading this book. Normally, I do not read witchy books, but this one was fun. Light and humorous throughout.
At first I did not like Selena, she appeared weak and hopeless. But as the tale of her day, 4 years after giving up her powers, progressed I was prone to forgive. Poor girl was kept in the dark about so many things.

Shawn just outright made me angry.. Thank the Goddess he was a real Demon and not just a total loser! At least it explains his actions. . .
Kelly tells Selena all, and now I am intrigued. Kelly is a werewolf and from a demon hunting family, like Selena's family, and awesome guy no less. Needless to say, Selena finds her inner power and kicks butt. Yeah! Once Kelly bit Selena making her werewolf as well as his mate, Selena has an awesome new power. Yes, dorky, but I cheered when the demons bit the big one. Oh yeah, I for to mention the cat. Loved him. Glad he got his life back as well!
Totally recommend reading this one. (insert big smile right here)
Readers follow Selena as she struggles to cope with her past and her heritage surrounded by several incidents that try both her patience and her sanity. Her soon to be husband Shawn isn't all he makes out to be and isn't all that likeable either. However secrets won't last forever and once Selena learns the truth the real adventure begins.
Its very amusing to read a book with a character that has a personality that is so realistic that you feel like she could be your best friend, your sister or even yourself. Madison's stories always walk a fine line of realism, romance and hilarity. Just enough to keep you wanting to read more.
Engaging. A good read for those who like paranormal plot lines. Shawn isn't my most favorite but the author's descriptions painted an almost real picture of him for me which pleased me the most. 4 stars
The first couple of chapters in this book I struggled to stay focused but once the plot took off I could not put it down. It is fast paced, funny, and an all around good book.
If you enjoy paranormal romance I would definatly suggest this book!
I haven't read many novels with witchcraft as a theme. I've been spoiled by the likes of Bewitched and Charmed I must admit. But as I started reading, it was as if Selena was an old friend telling me her troubles over a cup of tea. I loved the way the story unfolded and I was hooked from page one. While I loved Selena's tale I must admit I fell in love with her familiar Sterling. This is a definite must read and as soon as I am able I want to read the rest of Madison Sevier's library of books.
I enjoyed this, I loved Selena and Sterling and the sarcasm, the story line was good but sometimes felt a little too rushed and I felt that some parts of the back story needed more detail. There were some editing errors that made some sections stall as you read whilst you worked out what it was meant to say. The leading male sounded sexy as hell, I found it easy to get a bit swoon-y about him but then I would remember that his name is Keith! and that just turned me off a bit but that's down to personal preference.
To sum up an enjoyable quick read that didn't tax the brain too much and I enjoyed it enough to try another of the author's books.
I loved this book, a great paranormal read. It has humor and a real story at the same time. I LOVED Sterling. I will be reading all of Madison's books. I think anyone who loves a paranormal read would enjoy this book. :)
