I can’t anymore

Calling it quits at 40%

I love me some cheese on my fries, Pizza etc,but too much of cheese = cheesiness.

At 40% and I don’t even know who is who. The title drew me in, the book failed to deliver the gay for pay theme.

It’s not me this time, I really think it is the book with all the typos, English is not my first language and I can overlook a few typos but here it was too much. The dialogue was straight out of a bad porn movie.

There was a story here but, IMHO the execution failed big time.

There was no chemistry between the MC’s.

I don't think i will be reading the rest of the series.

DNF at 64%.

This story starts off as a serious drama, introducing Chris, a tortured 23 year old former high school football star with a dark past, and quickly turns into a gay unicorn piñata exploding into a shower of glitter and sex toys, when straight, mourning Chris finds a gay porn brochure in a gay sex club toilet (don't ask).

'All Cocks' is looking for new talent and poor Chris, who desperately seeks purpose in his sad life, thinks 'Gay porn? Hmm...why not?'

Thankfully there is another straight performer who shows him some tricks how to fuck a guy even though you're straight, but luckily Chris' heterosexuality flies out of the window pretty soon anyway.

With the porn company being run by three understanding guys (who are partners in business as well as in bed) and his fellow performers being a close knit and supportive family, Chris happily becomes a gay for pay porn star. And a second chance at love isn't far away with fellow bisexual co-star Linc.

What a sickeningly sweet nonsense!!

I hate how porn related romance stories tend to overlook the actual inner turmoil and the difficulties that such a job entails. What a wasted chance...

Why even use a porn theme when all you want to show is sweet love, support, a healing environment and friendship? Is this why gay porn stars sometimes slide into a drug addiction? Why some work as escorts? Why some even commit suicide?!

I am so mad that authors touch this subject and then turn it into a... 'gay unicorn piñata'!!

And please, please correct the typos and missing apostrophes in the text.

2 stars!

I hate to have to do this but I ended up pulling the plug at 60%. To be honest my interest in this book was on life support for quite some time before I finally let it go, but I felt the premise was interesting enough to make an effort. Unfortunately by doing that I actually just avoided reading altogether the past few days.
I'll start with what I liked. I thought the idea of a straight gay-for-porn rookie was brilliant. I have an odd fascination with men who decide that they will have sex on camera with men because it pays so much better than porn with a woman. The concept of a straight and a bi man, both sleeping with others on camera, finding that there's more than lust drawing them together, appealing.

i got my own shit to worry about photo tumblr_ngu2zmTkVk1tabg86o1_500_zpsljo0g5fi.gif

But...
The writing just didn't work for me. I found the story dragged, horribly so at times, the dialogue was wooden and clunky. I felt I was told instead of shown. Honestly, I had a bunch of examples highlighted, but after a while I just stopped bothering.
I didn't buy the MC's for one second, which is a shame because they showed such promise, I really wanted to follow their journey and watch them explore the idea of
being 'models' and building an emotionally monogamous relationship.
In the end I feel relieved to have jumped ship.
I'm not saying this is a bad book, it just didn't work for me at all.

There are some errors in even just the blurb, but something about this story (...gay for pay? porn? football player?) is saying "read me! read me!" and I'm inclined to just be like "Oh hell, okay."

Belens Audio Book Review

In 2010 Christopher Allan Roberts had the world at his feet. He was a young football star with a full ride to the University of Alabama, popular, lots of friends, a loving family, and a gorgeous girlfriend who thought the sun rose and set on him. In a single night the decision to drive while drunk ruined it all.

Five years later, after the trial, and after a spiraling period of drugs and alcohol, Chris's best friend Michael convinces Chris to get out of Alabama and move with Michael and his boyfriend to New York. Chris ends up sleeping on Michael's couch for a while, because it's hard to find a job when you have an involuntary manslaughter conviction on your record. Then one night Chris is walking around when he ends up in Club Berlin and sees a flyer looking for models for gay porn - with the note that being gay isn't a requirement.

Chris ends up going to work for All Cocks as their newest gay for pay porn model "Kris Alen". He does well and life begins to ease somewhat. Though life becomes more interesting and more complicated once he finds himself interested in one of the other models, Lincoln Carter.

I enjoyed the story for the most part. My main complaint is the story jumps from 2010 to 2015 with very little information given about the time in between. For example, it mentions a trial, but I don't remember it mentioning whether or not Chris went to jail. I wish I'd gotten a little more information and background. I felt like that would have given me a better grasp of the character. Other than that, I liked the setup, the supporting characters, that there's definitely a plot, and not all porn (which was great) and I definitely wouldn't mind continuing the series.

For the narration, I'll admit I did have some trouble following along, mostly because I kept getting pulled out of the story by Tony Clark's pacing, tone, tempo, character voices. It's not that Clark does a bad job, I've heard worse believe me, but I didn't connect with him as the narrator.

Bottom line: A quick, entertaining story with heat, but definitely check out the sample of the narrator before buying the audio.

A review by The Blogger Girls.

I have always been a bit of a skeptic when it comes to the GFP issue for various reasons and am always keeping an eye out for a bit more insight. So when this story came along, I jumped on it. Add to the fact it seems loosely based on the Cocky Boys, I thought it would be fun to see a story with possibly recognizable characters. This turned out to be just what I was looking for.

Chris is the guy who was sort of down on his luck ever since a bad mistake in high school cost him almost everything. He’s still living on the couch of his best friend, Michael and his boyfriend Max when he sees a flyer from All Cocks looking for new talent. He eventually gives in and decides to call for an interview.

This is where he meets Victor, a co-owner with his two partners with whom he is also in a triad relationship. Chris is eased in to the scene and given a mentor, another GFP actor, Jordan, and porn star Kris is born. The story progresses, showing a little of what it’s like to be involved with All Cocks, staying at their home and shooting movies. It also shows some of the struggles GFP actors face which was something I really liked seeing and gave me a new perspective on things.

Things start changing for Chris/Kris after he discovers he enjoys and ends up needing the help of his first scene partner to function for others. It helps him to open up to the idea that he seems to have similar feelings about another of the actors, Linc. Lincoln was a really sweet guy who had relationship/trust issues in the past, but has had his eye on Chris from the beginning.

Once these guys decide to give their relationship a go, they still have some issues to face which I think made things more realistic. I had been waiting to see how they were going to handle working with others after deciding to be together, and I think it was done very well.

This story grabbed my attention and kept it through to the end. The sex was really hot, both the porn scenes and the guys on their own. There are many side characters whose stories I am very interested in seeing play out, and I definitely want to see more background on the tempting triad running the show. I didn’t love every aspect, but there was plenty that I did enjoy which left me really looking forward to reading more of this series.

Gay for Pay (All Cocks #1) by T.M. Smith

Gay for Pay is a tale about Porn Stars private lives. About the logistics and preparations it takes to make a Porn film. It's also about , that at the end of the day , everyone wants to love and share their life with a special someone.

This is my first book T.M. Smith it's light-hearted and easy read, I just didn't love it. It's very likely the narration played a big part on it.

Tony Clark has a pleasant voice . However, his narration style made it difficult immersing and losing myself in the story .
For being a book were the heroes are frequently having sex, after all , book is about Porn Stars ; the sexy times sounded dispassionate and methodical . The overall pacing, tone, tempo, and character voices, were off .

With that said, I do like the cast characters introduced in this book. And because I am interested in knowing what is going on in their lives and read Joel Leslie will be narrating the next books ; I will continue listening to the other book in series .

My Rating: 5 of 5 Stars

Chris did something wrong. Stupid. Fatal. Although he never went to prison for it, the shunning of family and friends, the loss of a beloved, it was enough of a punishment that would have sent a weaker man to his knees and end it all. Chris did wallow in the misery but his staunch friend and supporter never allowed him to sink deeper. One day he sees a flyer that promoted a porn site called All Cocks and made a decision that changed his life even more.

Linc is a porn star for All Cocks and the first time he sees straight newbie, Chris, he knew he wanted him. Who wouldn't, with his height, build and ink? Upon closer look, Linc saw beyond the physical and saw the insecurity and misery. He reaches out and finds a true partner in an otherwise sexual world.

Just by the title alone, one could immediately surmise that Chris is a straight man who becomes a porn star to make ends meet. The blurb tells us that one stupid mistake made Chris decide to do something or just off it. Fortunately, Chris is not the type to give up, no matter what left hook comes his way.

For those who first read the blurb, there is an immediate response of "Hell, no freaking way!" Then again, another would ask what made Chris and others like him go the porn way? Best question of all, how do they remain human in such a world? Well, TM Smith gives us a glimpse of what that real world is like from within the porn industry. She gives us a peek of how two men in said industry become loyal lovers and partners.

Yes, it is possible to remain human in such an industry and yes, again, there are real life couples who have remained true to each other for years and years despite their professions. Others may scoff it off, others may condemn it, but reading Chris and Linc opens the eyes of what that world is actually all about.

These porn sites are viewed by the billions and drooled over, no matter what is presented. Have you stopped to think the people performing there live normal, everyday lives as well? Chris and Linc are an incredibly real couple in this particular fictional world. They remind me of one or two I am more familiar with because of their very public profiles. As for the side characters, the men within and without All Cocks, these are men I want to read more about. The way Smith wrote them, they are real people who have finally found a voice thru an ebook.

Never expected to love this, but I did. And I do. Recommend you read this.

Story 4 Stars
Narration 1 Star

Normally for an audio review I would write it up in two separate parts, one for the story and one for the narration but in the case of Gay for Pay I am going to run it all into one.

The story itself was an interesting glimpse into the behind the scenes set up of a gay porn company. Is it realistic? I don’t know but it felt real to me in terms of the story. The company is run by a throuple, I’m still not sure about that word, who have built their company up with a family feel and look after their boys both on and off the set.

Their newest recruit is Chris soon to be known as Kris Alen who joins their team as a gay for pay actor. Chris is down on his luck and sleeping on his best friends couch after his part in his girlfriend’s death five years earlier that has left him on his own and living with a shit ton of guilt. Desperate for some sort of life, desperate for friends and desperate for money he figures sex with another man for a pay cheque will be easy. It’s also his last and only option.

Lincoln is already working for the studio and is immediately attracted to Chris. They slip quite easily into a relationship, even with the problems of the job they are doing and they are open and honest with each other from the start. If this had been an ebook I would have had no problems at all however the narrator, for me, really let this story down.

Tony Clark is a new narrator to me and one I won’t be listening to again. If the story had been longer than four and a half hours I would have stopped listening to it. There was zero emotion in his voice for any of the characters and this book called for emotion. I felt like I was talked at rather than to, his voice was often shouty and I had to go back and re-listen to a few parts. The sex scenes made me cringe and as there are a lot of sex scenes in the book that added up to quite a lot of cringing. If there was ever a book that made you realise how important a good narrator is then this was it.

Although this audio was not a success for me I am still very interested in seeing where the author takes this series and I will certainly continue on with it but it will definitely be via ebook and not on audio.

*A copy of this book was provided by the author.*

Straight Chris made a terrible mistake when he was 17 that he'll live with the rest of his life, mentally and physically. The ramifications of mean that he's left his family behind and is living on the couch with the one friend who stood by him and he's broke.

He finds a flyer about gay-for-pay and he figures he's open to it so interviews. His good looks, open personality and willingness make him a shoo-in and he becomes Kris onscreen.

Linc is bi and is very attracted to Chris but he's been burned is gunshy of being someone's experimental walk on the wild side.

They become friends and maybe possibilities.

I tend to not read ya/na stories because I just like older guys and young guys just seem so young. Chris does seem to be older than his years due to what he's been through.

I don't know if this is a true reflection of a porn studio, I'm guessing this is written as a more family-oriented studio and Chris feels much more welcome and part of something.

The m/f scene was negligible so m/m only readers should be ok.

Quibble is that there could be a bit more editing - I don't know if that's because I was given a review copy or not, though.

All in all, this was an enjoyable read.

This is a story that shows that one mistake can change our lives drastically. Chris was young and had his life set. A scholarship a beautiful girlfriend, a supportive family, lots of friends. That is until one fateful day he drank too much and his entire life turned upside down leaving him with no future, and no family and no job.
He had one loyal friend that moved him to New York with him letting him crash on his couch. One night Chris ventured in a gay bar, met a sweet twink that became a good friend and found a flier looking for gay porn models.
This story is fabulous! There is a lot of characters, but I love that much better than a story with only one or two. There is a great storyline, the character growth is awesome, now for the heat…Holy lava!
The first part of the book is basically sitting up the book, meeting characters and getting Chris’s past. Then we get to All Cocks and the entire mood of the story shifts. I loved how Chris and Linc’s friendship builds and the scene close to the end where they are dancing at a meet and greet… Send out the firetrucks! This is one of the hottest dance scenes I have read in a while.
I will definitely be looking for more books in this series!

Gay For Pay- An All Cocks Story by T.M Smith

Christopher is the captain of the football team with a great and promising career for Alabama. He has a great support team of his girlfriend whose also his best friend and his very supportive family. One night something happens that could turn out to be his greatest mistake ever. Now he finds himself in New York and very much alone. One night he goes to the club Berlin and sees a flyer in the bathroom. The ad is for a hot guy to have sex on camera with another guy and he's thinking money is money how difficult can this actually be. So now Christopher becomes Kris, a gay pornstar for pay!

Lincoln is very much out of that dreaded and lonely closet which includes his family and friends. Linc the very open gay porn star who will perform with anyone in any sexual role but his problem is that he has a hard time trusting anyone. Linc is so chomping at the bit to do a scene with the newest addition to All Cocks, Kris! The newest sex God with the face and body that dreams are made out of, completely exudes hot and sexual intensity. Linc is not sure if he wants the new hottie for the thrill of conquering him or what he sees behind Kris's eyes!

Kris is only doing gay porn to build up his bank account and doesn't look at this as a career, so far! Now it's up to Linc who already has trust issues to bring down the walls that Kris has most definitely put up. I love the set up of how the story starts and the author gives us a great backstory of what Kris had and how much he had to lose which was exactly what happened. The story is filled with many characters and I enjoyed that very much and the author never confuses you as her story flows so smoothly. I enjoyed how much the character Kris grows and develops a self discovery of who he actually wants to be and not what others think he should be. He had to really search and work on his issues and realize who the real Kris is.

This novel by TM Smith had me feeling so many different emotions and that is due to her amazing writing. She brought the character of Kris and Linc to life and made us love them and everything they went through. She gives you an honest and factual view of the gay porn star industry and how these guys found each other against the odds. I was rooting for Chris/Kris to live his own truth and for the first time find what true happiness actually is. I couldn't get enough of Gay for Pay by TM Smith and the amazing and beautiful characters she has created. I recommend this novel so much that you will not be disappointed at all!!

Kris kills his girlfriend by driving drunk in his last year of high school. He loses all his friends, family, the scholarship, everything. He’s devastated and broke. While living on friends’ couches in New York he finds Gay For Pay and decides to go for it – he’s got nothing to lose.

Linc is happy with his life as a bi-sexual porn star – but leery of relationships since his last boyfriend cheated on him with one of his co-stars.

They don’t hook up right away, but instead become friends. As that friendship grows so do their feelings. Even in this industry, they manage to keep sex out of their relationship for a very long time. When Kris finally admits to his feelings, Linc is already right there with him.

The question now is – where do they go from here?

**

This was such a surprising book! It was not at all what I was expecting. Having read a few “gay for pay porn” books, I was expecting Kris and Linc to be hooked up from the start and for them to fall for one another that way. Instead… Gabe is the wonderfully sweet guy who introduces Kris to his gay porn career and he ends up really being a great friend.

I loved the seemingly honest look at gay for pay that we get here. Kris struggles to stay hard at times, he still wants to date women, he likes Gabe because he’s so feminine in nature… but he truly likes Linc as a person and that’s what initially attracts him.

I think this is one of the few books out there that put forth a compelling “demi-sexual” story in that I do believe Kris is NOT gay. He loves Linc for Linc and not guys in general. Sure, you can call him bi-sexual in that he eventually comes to enjoy both gay and het sex but in terms of romance I think he’s a demi-sexual.

The sequels are already published – YAY! – and show an interesting “pre-quel” to the throuple that is Kris’ boss and his partners – which makes me psyched because I had wanted to know more about them as they were introduced. The third book is the slutty Kory who steals Linc’s beau but it looks like he gets redemption.

I’m excited to read the next two books and highly recommend this.

4.5 of 5 stars (there were some editing and grammatical mistakes that take it from a 5 star, but minor.)

Audio

Tony Clark is a new narrator for me and he does a nice job of giving each person a unique voice and he attempts both the southern accent of Kris and the Eastern European accent of Victory bravely! There are times when he’s a bit flat in terms of emotion but not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment of this as an audiobook.

Again, highly recommended.

Jen's Review

At first I wasn’t to sure about what I was reading, started off slow and I didn’t find myself really connecting with the characters. After few chapters in, I honestly have to say I was hooked. I really really liked this. I read this all in one sitting and wish it were longer because I really loved getting to know these characters. This is a story about love, loss, regret, loneliness, letting go and second chances at new love.

Chris is consumed with guilt, regret and sadness over a terrible mistake he made years ago that cost him everything. He ends up in a gay bar one night and sees a flyer for All Cocks looking to acquire new talent. Jobless and soon to be practically broke he decides to check it out. At this point I was completely invested and couldn’t put this story down.

I really loved the connection between all the guys in the house. There is some back story that we get that helps us understand why some of them do what they do and it really helped to enhance the story. With Chris always thinking he was straight I think the author did a good job showing us his struggles and his confusion when he becomes attracted to a man. The connection between Lync and Chris was absolutely beautiful to watch develop. Even while some of the sex scenes are in front of the camera, their love and desire for one another really shined through. They made me smile. They were really such a turn on.

I really loved meeting the guys who ran and worked for All Cocks. They all played an important role with in the storyline. They were this one big supportive family that really cared for one another. Not something I really expected to see but I was really happy that we got glimpses of other relationships. I really hope at some point we get more from them. I’m not sure if this is going to be a new series but I really hope it becomes one.

This is a different story than I’ve read before but I really loved reading about Chris’ journey to finding happiness and love. This is the first time I’ve read anything from this author but certainly won’t be my last. If you are looking for a quick book that will have your heart smiling with some really steamy hot scenes then this one is for you.

I found this to be a fascinating look into the gay porn industry as well as a moving story. I honestly never even thought about straight men doing the "gay for pay" thing before reading this, it's something that would have never occurred to me at all (which sure makes you think!). But the author takes a subject that could be considered off-key and sensitive and turns it into a quite interesting story of one man's journey to find acceptance, forgiveness, and eventually love.

I thought Chris' character had a lot of depth, and watching as he finds a new kind of family to see who he really is and take him in regardless of his past makes for a very enjoyable read. The entire cast of characters is intriguing, and the way they are written makes you want to hear every one of their stories (yes, even Kory, the requisite jerk of the group).

This was the first book I read by this author, and after finishing it I added the rest of her books to my TBR list. I loved this story when I first read it almost five years ago. Here in the re-release, there’s even more to Chris and Linc’s story, giving readers a more complete look into their lives, and a better understanding of their characters. A great M/M romance and voyage of discovery, Gay for Pay was a 4.5-star read for me. Recommended strictly for 18+ due to explicit sexual content.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

While detailing aspects of the porn industry, Gay For Pay offers an insider look at more of an upscale side of online porn, where performers are invited into the owners’ home and offered to make them comfortable and part of the family. Chris is written as an empathetic character that has been paying for his mistake for years. Feeling like a continual burden to his best friend as he continues to live on his couch, Chris takes the plunge into porn.

The transition here for Chris is fairly easy, although we do get some insight into certain performance issues. The company is described well as there are three owners in a triad relationship and a large cast of secondary characters. The author does a good job showing how the cast members are treated as family along with some behind the scenes footage. The scenes also range from Chris in solo performances to scenes with other cast members and finally with Linc both on and off camera. And once Chris and Linc are together, they have some real chemistry going on.

Gay for Pay was the first book I read by TM Smith and most def wont be the last. She had a way of drawing me in with her writing, that kept me captivated during my morning routine as well as in the car to the shopping mall, as I couldn't stop reading - to say hubby was not happy would be an understatement.

I love the whole "gay for you" aspect, and loved it even more knowing how comfortable Chris was with the gay community.

I also really enjoyed all the "behind aspects of the porn industry" and also found out about some tools of the trade I dint know existed.. can anyone say Fleshjack?

As much as I fell in love with Chris & Lincoln's relationship, I felt the Amanda part of the storyline was just too much, yes she was his GF and they were separated due to some heart breaking circumstances but the whole "LOVE" apparently shared between them was just soo blegh, they were so young and it just didn't seem real.. like it was put there to enforce the whole "gay for you" storyline, if that makes sense.

I loved all the secondary characters and would be first in line in one-clicking any more All Cocks stories in the future.

At the beginning I wasn't sure whether I would like this book, because I had felt the writing style as a bit wooden. But either it had improved over the course of the book, or I had gotten used to it. Anyway, I continued reading and got captured by all the lovely characters, the MC's Chris/Kris and Linc, as well as all their friends and special family.
Apart from a short prologue, the book began five years after Chris' fatal mistake.
While I would have liked to learn more about the direct time after the dramatic accident, I think, that the fact, that this bad time was only mentioned, and the book focused on the time, in which Chris again took root in life, was exactly, what this book made a kind of feel good read, instead of a dark one.
There was a scene at Amanda's grave, that left me full of tears, but later, when they were at the hotel in Chelsea, I was just happy for Chris and Linc!

So, overall I had a good time reading this book and now I'll read the sequel.

I love this story. The characters are interesting with back stories that fully enrich the overall plot and body of the work. In fact, now I need the next books. I want to know more about these men and who they love.

The story starts out by fridging the protagonist's girlfriend and it wasn't well-written enough to overcome my dislike of that particular plot device/trope, so I didn't bother reading further.

This was quite a fun, sexy read. Didn't blow my mind - it's a strong like rather than a love.

Una storia piacevole, nonostante le vicende narrate non siano sempre così leggere. Mi sarebbe piaciuto conoscere un po’ meglio la relazione tra Chris e Linc, in particolare fuori da All Cocks.

When Chris makes a stupid, split-second decision that ruins his (and many others') life, he's never the same after. Now years later, he's still suffering the affects of his decision, to the point of being unemployable and living on his best friend's couch. It's these dire straits that have him seriously considering gay for pay porn, as he's heard he can make good money performing in that industry. He's always been completely straight, though, so figuring out how to perform with someone (a guy or guys) to whom he isn't attracted, is going to take all his mental fortitude. He just never imagined that he'd find love and family among the men of All Cocks porn company.

Linc isn't sure what to make of the newest, unfortunately very straight, model at his company other than that he's gorgeous, and buffed, and holding a hell of a lot of pain in his beautiful eyes. As the two become friends, other feelings are developing, a chemistry, and Chris is out of his depth with feelings and attraction to a man. Both men are unsure of opening themselves up to the possibility of being hurt - Chris because of his past tragedy, and Linc because he's so hurt by his ex's cheating. And can they maintain a relationship in the backdrop of adult entertainment, a relationship between a bisexual man and a straight man?

I have to say that Gay for Pay is not what I was expecting, in a very good way. It's not all sex, sex, sex, as I expected from a story about two porn performers, it's much more focused on the developing relationship between the two leads. Not that there aren't sexy scenes, because there are, they're just far fewer than I had expected, and more intimate. I like the way their relationship developed, the way Chris came to terms with his changing sexuality, in a sweet, realistic way. All in all, a sweet, surprising story and I can't wait for the next one.
