Betting on Fate

Rate this book
This time, all bets are off...

Penelope Carson loves to steal clients from Will Reaver. Yet something in her business nemesis's icy blue eyes makes Penelope...nervous. It certainly doesn't help that the man is the living embodiment of a Norse god. A controlled, powerful Norse god. Which she really should have remembered before she made a bet with him—because losing means becoming Will's personal submissive for a week. There's nothing Will would like more than to have Penelope kneeling before him in complicit submission, her fiery dark eyes inviting him in. Challenging him. But their bet takes Will and Penelope deeper than either of them have ever been. Where control is an illusion, and boundaries are pushed aside. And where hearts become the stakes in a game that neither Dominant nor submissive can win...

4- 4.5 Kinky Stars

Who do you belong to?" He stood, lifted her hips, and shoved into her. "Tell me, Penelope. Now.
"You."
"Say my name."

Ho-ly shit. This. Book. Was. Freaking. HAWT. I'll admit, being the Brazen junky that I am, I've read my fair share...and I do mean my fair share. So trust me when I tell you that this just may have been the most sizzling and kinky one yet.
We first met Will Reaver as Garrett's tamer and more reasonable and almost unassuming twin brother in Mistaken by Fate. Ha! Tamer and unassuming my ass!

We also met Penelope Carson, the gorgeous and sassy pain in Will's ass...better known as his competition in business. Both Will and Penelope like to be at the top, and that certainly goes for everything else beside business. Their fierce competition definitely has a very hot undercurrent of chemistry, but they both refuse to admit the glaringly obvious attraction. Besides, with Will being a Dom and Penelope not being submissive, they couldn't have less in common...or so they think...

When they realize that they're both going after the same client again, Will proposes that they make things interesting. Whoever loses, has to submit to the other for a week. Penelope is sure that she has it all in the bag and wants nothing more than Will Reaver on his knees. But then her unexpected loss allows her to experience something that she's only allowed herself to fantasize about; to truly submit to a man that tempts her like no other. Besides, Penelope isn't just a domme, she's a switch. And boy do things start to get sizzling

Being an avid reader of BDSM romance, I can tell you that I've read my fair share of contemporary authors 'tip-toeing around this genre. You know what I'm talking about; when you have a hero with some bondage and spanky preferences that also likes to boss the chick around in the bedroom is all of a sudden a Dom. Yeah...no. I was VERY pleasantly surprised with Katee's portrayal of Will, because will was most definitely a Dom in every sense of the word. He was demanding, slightly domineering, and when the man gets down to business? No ovaries in an 8 mile radius will be safe.

So what did this book have?
A whole lot of sexy time, is what!
It also had one sizzling hot MFM threesome, that was actually very tastefully done. You know, if there's really such a thing with a threesome.

But aside from all the kinky sexy times, it actually had a really great story on top. Both Pen and Will are terrified of commitment in their own right and it was really entertaining seeing them fall for each other even if Will did fight it more than necessary. Given both their histories, I could understand their hesitations.

Penelope was a great heroine. She was smart mouthed, independent, take charge type of woman. But when it came to Will, she had no problem giving into her more submissive nature.

I loved that none of the scenes felt forced like they have in other contemporary books for me. If you're not a fan of the genre, it's just light enough to still appeal to you. Don't get me wrong, their sex is ANYTHING but vanilla, but it wasn't exactly hard core BDSM. But for those of us that run on the more...uhem...kinkier tastes, it's just enough to satisfy.

I also really loved the inclusion of Penelope's best friend Addison from Meeting His Match.

If you're looking for a scorching hot and kinky read, look no further than Will Reaver. Although part of a series, you may still easily read this as a standalone. Though I found the series to be fantastic, so I'd definitely recommend reading the previous 3 books too. Can't wait for next installment and to see who will be the man to rein in Sara, Garret and Will's younger sister.

I read this one because I love enemies to lovers. I liked it but didn't love it. There wasn't much banter between these two. They both seemed to want more pretty fast. lol I'm not a fan of insta anything so it was probably just me.
It's a quick read that's light on BDSM:))

3.5 - "I always take care of what's mine." Stars.

The fourth book in the Serve Series offers up a couple of tropes that I am not a massive fan of, I knew this going into it, and decided I would persevere due to the fact I like this authors writing style, and I have really enjoyed every book in this series so far.

I am glad I did because aside from that it was a bloody great read. I won't lie and say the tropes are now a favorite, and I still wouldn't actively go looking for but it was dealt with in a sedate but still sexy way, and let's face it, this is a series about a BDSM club so it stands to reason these things are going to 'pop-up' on occasion as the series progresses.

I liked Will and Penelope together, both have very similar and singular tastes with regards to what they like in the bedroom, they are both members of SERVE, and are also in the same line of work, but for rival companies. The battle for the upper hand escalates into a bet, one of which as the story progresses it turns out neither of them are really on the losing end of.

Another great addition to the SERVE series, I am looking forward to reading the next and final book to see is Sara can be tamed!

"I thought I was on top." ... "I changed my mind."

“Betting on Fate” is book 4 in “Serve” Series and Katee Robert's second book in the series.

We met both MC, Will and Penelope in the previous book in the series. They are business rivals and both of them are Dominants at “Serve”. They both are attracted to each other, but of course they won’t admit.

Will and Pen find themselves going after the same client. They both are confident they are going to win, so they agree to a bet – if Will wins Pen will be his submissive for a week and if Pen wins he will be her submissive. Will wins and Pen is more than willing to become Will’s submissive.

“You’re mine, Penelope. You’d be wise to stop fighting it and be an obedient submissive.”

description

Everything starts to change between them with every day that passes. Both of them start to want more, but both are terrified of commitment.

“She was his. He’d said it before, but it felt different now. Meaningful. As if he’d admitted something he’d kept secret for longer than he could remember.”

I liked both Will and Penelope. Penelope was a great heroine. She is smart and independent. She’s feisty and witty. Will was a great Dom and a great alpha-male. Their chemistry was fabulous and the kinky sex scenes ( all of them are light BDSM ) are hot. I also enjoyed the M/F/M scene.

Like the previous book in the series this was a pretty light read, low in angst and drama.

Overall, an enjoyable read!

3.5-4 Dueling Powers-of-Seduction Stars!

Betting on Fate
delivered a fairly heavy dose of steam, however, fairly light on plot. Penelope Carson is struggling to keep her business afloat since her dad retired. They contract with companies...taking them from a money pit to money makers. One of her biggest rivals, Will Reaver, is also fighting for this certain contract to refurbish Falcon Bar. They both think they've got the contract in the bag. One will obviously lose. So, both being Dominant personalities, they strike up a bet...whomever DOESN'T get the contract must be the winner's submissive for 7 days. As I said, Will is a Dom and Penelope a Domme within the BDSM club Serve. They know each other, never really getting along. Just one continuous power struggle for these two both professionally and in their extra-curricular lives. Who's gonna win? How's the loser going to switch to a submissive for seven days? A submissive to a rival in all things work and play?

Betting on Fate has fairly light elements of BDSM...some flogging, light bondage, ménage (hot) all the while incorporating a budding love story between it's characters. I think it's a great read for beginners to the BDSM/erotica genre. I'm not a huge fan of insta-love kind of reads and this barely tows the line for me. It wasn't immediate but within that week, all bets seem to be off for them walking away from the contract. But it was pretty darn hot watching two dominants struggle to maintain control over their bodies AND their hearts.

 photo 0FEBB633-D53B-4A14-8D9D-422A8F79B501_zpsnwz0vxiw.gif

Naturally, we get the drama that has to be the climax for every book before a happy conclusion (insert eye roll) but I dealt with it. I've read more annoying "manufactured drama" before at least, so this didn't bother me...much. I hadn't read any other books within the Serve series, and although I can tell previous characters were in this, I wasn't lost. It could easily be read as a stand-alone.

So I'd pick this book up if you're in the mood for light plot, light angst, decent steam, and shorter on length. I needed a book like this to cleanse my palate after so many dark or emotional reads of late.

And I thank you!

3.5 'Dracula' Stars!

I had crazy high hopes for Will and Penelope. And Katee Robert definitely delivered another fantastic installment in the Serve series but I do have to say it's not my favorite. I enjoyed a lot more the other installments and I don't know exactly why. I simply did not connect as much with this couple as I thought I would. And I wish we had a different kind of ending. Still, the chemistry was super hot and it was great seeing Will and Penelope fall in love! I am excited to read Sara's story!

"Betting on Fate" is the story of Will and Penelope.
Apart from being business competators, Penelope and Will are also Doms at club serve. When loss of a business bet leads to Penelope submitting to Will for a week, tables are turned and true feelings come to light.
Average book with lukewarm chemistry, good understanding of BDSM elements, and touches of voyeurism.
All was going ok until..menage attack!
I've said it many at times- if the author wants to bring a third person in the bedroom-please warn the readers. I read this series because of the queen TB, and decided to try this author too for sake of continuity - but that just spoiled the book for me.
I don't mind if the book is MMF/MFM from the start and I'm aware of it either through blurb or warning- but if I pick up a book thinking its MF- and the hero decides to share the h with strangers- NOT my cup of tea.
After that, the book went downhill for me and them deliberately hurting each other and hea..Nope dont care.
Unsafe

P.S. Also not a fan of H giving h a sub as a gift, and then them enjoying it.

Betting on Fate is the fourth book in the Serve multi-author series but the story does work well as a standalone, we have already met Will in Mistaken by Fate though. Will is the twin brother of Garrett and I had a feeling he'd be the more dominant of the two so I was really looking forward to getting to know him better. I had very high hopes for this book before I started it and I'm pleased to say that Katee Robert didn't let me down, I think this was actually the hottest book in the series and it was definitely a book I'll be reading again at some point.

Penelope and Will are rivals, they both own their own businesses and have been competing for contracts for years so there is a lot of antagonism between them. There is also a crazy attraction going on but neither of them has been willing to act on it. Until they once again find themselves going after the same client that is, both are confident they are going to win so they decide to have a friendly little bet on it. Although both of them prefer to be dominant when they play at Serve, they agree that the loser of the bet will have to submit to the winner for a whole week. What they didn't realise was how much Penelope would enjoy submitting to Will and how well they would fit together but can two rivals in business, both of whom are very anti-relationships, figure out a compromise that will allow them to have a future together?

I really loved Penelope and Will together, they have a fantastic connection and a lot of common interests but I enjoyed seeing them push each other's boundaries too. Penelope has always known that she's a switch but her submissive side isn't something she's really explored before because she's always preferred to play the Domme when she's at Serve. She has been attracted to Will ever since she first saw him but was scared of getting too emotionally involved if she let him get close so it's not easy for her to put her trust in him now. I thought their relationship developed at the perfect speed, both characters have a steep learning curve, not because they aren't experienced in the BDSM lifestyle but because they're trying to find what works best for them as a couple. Will is definitely a commanding Dom, he knows exactly what he wants in the bedroom and he knows how to get it, but he's also very caring and I loved that Katee Robert showed how a Dom protects and looks after his sub.

Overall I thought Betting on Fate was a fabulous story, it's probably a little heavier on the BDSM side of things than the previous three books in the series were and it even includes a little ménage action (although it was very tastefully done and it wasn't taken as far as I expected so don't let it put you off reading the story) but I loved it even more because of that. This story is hot as hell and will definitely have readers fanning themselves! I really hope this isn't the end of the series, I'd a book about Will and Garrett's younger sister Sara because I have a feeling she's going to be quite a handful for her chosen partner but I'll automatically be buying any future books in this series.

Decided to reread this one because I like the next book from this series really much.
It was surprisingly better than I remember.

There were some inconsistencies with timelines that could have been avoided if some beta-readers or an editor payed attention; plus I've realized I'm not a fan of so much BDSM club setting, I really prefer for most of the intimacy happening outside of a club in a "natural environment" but I rolled with it so all in all, it was a decent sexy read.

4 "I'm feeling generous, Pet" stars

This series has been a true winner for me. Each story has a completely different edge, whilst weaving it’s way through the backdrop of the notorious BDSM club; Serve.

Tessa Bailey dished up the first 2 in this series, and Katee Robert had the unenviable job of continuing it, and boy did she do a great job with the Reaver twins.

Penelope Carson is battling for contracts in the same line of business as Will Reaver. Renowned for her female dominance when she frequents Serve, her natural confidence spills over into her business life.

Whilst tendering for a new contract, Penelope finds herself agreeing to a bet with Will to be his submissive for a week, if she was to lose the contract. Was she that confident? Is it within her nature to be that compliant? Is she a switch?

We first met Will Reaver in Mistaken by Fate, when he was targeted as Ridley’s Dom interest. He was ordered, reliable and perfect for the persona he exuded.

This couples chemistry was evident from the start. Katee gave us the Nordic master at full throttle. Both of the characters boundaries were pushed to the limits, much like my pulse, which took them on to pastures new.

There is no real downside to this book, if you are looking for a medium BDSM sensual story, although I will say I felt Garrett had a slight edge for me. What I mean is, next time i’m in NY, it will be Garrett’s private door I will be knocking on!

Having loved Mistaken by Fate, I couldn't wait to dive into this and see what Katee Robert had in store for Will Reaver. The glimpses we caught of him in his twin's story (Garrett), left me tantalised for more.

“When I win, you’ll wear my collar for a week.”

description

Will is a Dom and Penelope Carson a switch, although more used to being dominant than submissive. And when she loses a business bet meaning she spends 7 days as his personal sub, it's challenging to say the least.

description

I liked Will and, like his brother, in the bedroom he's a master, isn't cold or detached with it and does show an attentive, caring side. But he didn't seduce me in the way Garrett did. I found his and Penelope's journey a little slower; don't get me wrong, they do give us sizzling action, but it took me a while to become invested them as a couple and I struggled to warm to Pen until the second half of the book. But when she let herself go a little it became the book I had wanted earlier, plus Katee took the plunge and has done what no Brazen has ever done - thrown a ménage scene into the equation; one which worked perfectly, wasn't over the top and was written tastefully and very sexily. If this is something you're wary about, don't let it deter you.

description

Mistaken by Fate may have had the edge for me, but Betting on Fate is still a great addition to the Serve series. Plus it was a little treat to discover a link to Katee's Match Me series. Looking forward to seeing what lies in store for Garrett and Will's younger sister, Sara.

This was a stellar enemies to lovers BDSM book. Penelope fought her submission as much as she could, at first I was a little annoyed with how much she fought it, but then I realized it really did make for an awesome storyline.

And guys, Will gives good grovel in this one. Fighting with the demons of your past is never easy, but being able to give your total self to someone is definitely not easy either.

I don't know what it is about a D/s relationship that I love reading about so much. The way the sub is drawn to the need to submit or the way the Dom is so focused on every need. It really is a beautiful thing when done properly.

This series is perfect for anyone looking for quick reads/audios with some serious smut and enough story to keep you pulled in.

On to the next I go.

Will (MMC) and Penelope (FMC)

After losing a bet, Penelope reluctantly aggrees to play the submissive role to Will's dominant, and to wear his collar. This way, she finds out that she actually enjoys being on the other side of things, as Penelope had been a "Dom" until then.

The FMC is a fiesty, smart, hard-working boss-babe and doesn't make things easy for Will, being rebellious and mouthy. Slowly, they realize that their connection goes beyond physical attraction and their relationship grows.

He calls her "pet"!!! 😳🫣😳🫣, I'm not sure why, but I love this and found it HOT! 🔥 The book has many spicy 🌶 scenes that will make you sweat.

Spoiler Warning: ⚠️ On chapter 14, Will shares Penelope with another guy (Nolan), which I'm not sure I loved, but it was entertaining and original 🔥... I felt conflicted, especially because we know that the two MC's are falling in love 😬, yet he's willing to have her shared.

Anyhow, I hope you'll like this book, at least as much as I did.

Happy reading! 📚

I want to say that the shortness was the reason I didn’t connect with this, however, I read something else by her that was even shorter and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters didn’t have enough chemistry for me, and that brought down the BDSM sex scenes.

Pushing all sorts of boundaries, this latest entry in the Serve series from the Entangled Brazen line is the steamy story of Penelope and Will. When these two dominant characters match wits and companies in an effort to gain a business contract, a bet between them results in Penelope agreeing to submit to Will for seven days. But while submitting in body may be what she had in mind, things take a more intense turn for both of them when they realize that seven days isn't going to be enough to explore their true feelings for each other. When things get to be too much, will they be able to trust each other enough to put aside their fears and move forward into a committed relationship?

I really enjoyed this story. I think it's definitely a more intense and darker romance than people will be expecting, and the romance part is almost secondary to the BDSM storyline and play scenes that are a key part of the novel. Both characters are strong willed and for Penelope to trust Will takes a a lot of effort on her part, especially when Will does things to endanger that trust. Yet he realizes his mistakes and tries his best to make up for them, all the while attempting (unsuccessfully) to keep his heart disengaged. Will values his control more than anything and giving up that control scares him. I thought that Will's conflicted character was really brought out well in the story. If as a reader you are uncomfortable with threesomes than this might be beyond your comfort zone, but I thought the scene was well handled and served it's point, to prove to Will that he won't be able to treat Penelope like his other submissives.

Overall, I found this to be a riveting read, keeping my attention from beginning to end. The sex/love scenes were well written, steamy and definitely high up on the erotica scale. 4.5 stars!

I suppose the cover is a dead giveaway of what the theme of this book is. You got it! hehe… It’s a story of 2 consultant rivals who happen to be into the same lifestyle, entered a “business” bet where whoever loses submits to the winner, and basically, the h lost. What is even more interesting is that she’s a switch.

I would imagine this is more in the low to mid-range in the BDSM spectrum, because I myself who haven’t read too much BDSM-themed romance stories thought the scenes are manageable, so to speak. And even then, there is one scene that sorta’ pushed it for me and another one which just felt odd. Nevertheless, no one can deny the heat level in this one, oooooh boy, that’s all imma say*g*

Penelope, I thought, has a slight edge to her which comes with being a Domme, I suppose. Yet, I love how Will was just able to bring out the sub in her. She’s feisty and witty. Will is a Dom who’s as alpha as they come. Love it! Love it more esp when he starts having “un-alpha” thoughts and feelings brought on by his interaction with Penelope, in particular his issue with control. So for a change, the emotional dilemma stems from the H and not the h.

The epilogue, I must say, brought little for me. I found I didn’t quite need it. As a whole, I read this pretty quickly. And I’m finding that tends to be the case for me with any Entangled Brazen reads, which tells me that they engage me so. Also, I do appreciate that the female characters tend to be strong ones, and partner that with delish male characters, I’m def more than ok with that.

This is a first Katee Roberts read for me and it won’t be the last, that’s for sure.

Oh, gorgeous Dom Will!

My second book from this author and book 4 in the Serve series, which has been really enjoyable. I knew I'd love Will when we saw him briefly in book 3, he was so different from his twin, cool, calculating and totes dominant. The Dynamics between him and Penelope were interesting, she was another dominant/switch and she loses a bet, and has to become his sub for 7 days. Intense sexy times and love happens.

LOVED it.

The threesome was too much for me but I still think it was done tastefully. I just felt that Will seems to not feel so deep enough for Penelope to allow somebody else to "play" with her body. M=Or maybe I just don't know enough.

I thought this was a pretty good book with better characters than the other books in the series so far.

I really liked Penelope. I found her to be a perfect combination of snark, confidence, vulnerability, and determination. I admired her drive in business and maturity when thinking about and dealing with her parents and Will’s problems. I also really liked that she was a switch, and I would’ve liked more exploration into her Dominant side.

Will was a decent character, but he kind of seemed like a typical broody, wounded, intense hero that found it difficult to open up.

I feel like there was definitely plenty of chemistry, tension, and grudging respect between Penelope and Will. There was also a fair amount of more emotional development, which I appreciated in their romance.

I liked the glimpses of Ridley and Garrett, and their relationship and personalities seem to really have matured. I would’ve liked to see more of Garrett’s relationship with Will beyond the customary “get your head screwed back on straight” talk Garrett subjected Will to when he dumped Penelope.

This was a wonderful addition to the series overall, and I’ve definitely grown to like this author’s style more thanks to this book.

Will(sir) and penelope (pet)
Penelope’s Safe word: Dracula
Wills safe word: falcoln
We know Will as Garretts twin brother. The brother that Ridley originally thought she was seducing. Will is also Sarah’s brother, Sarah is Ridley’s best friend. We were introduced to penelope in the last book when she came over to Ridley and Garrett and acted like her and Will shared a sexual history and made moves on Garrett which pushed Ridley right into his lap. We know Ridley and will share the same job of helping businesses get back on their feet that are failing. They are rivals. They’re in constant competition for the same accounts. They are both at serve at the same time. He struts over to her and she asks why he seems so confident she figured he’d be down in the dumps over losing Johns account but he tells her he knows he has it in the bag and she asks if he’s willing to bet on it and he says of course he is. She says perfect, if I win you’ll wear my collar for a week. Will is a Dom. He does not like playing sub especially to her. He tells her he’ll take that bet but same goes to her, if she loses she’s submissive to him. She stutters but will realizes he sees desire on her face. As far as he knows penelope as never played anything but Dom but she looks excited at the idea of being his sub. Will gets the deal with John and he can’t wait to spend the next week with penelope as his sub. He has her meet him at serve and that makes her relieved to be in that environment. She doesn’t know where to start as a sub. She tells him her safe word is Dracula and he tells her she holds him in such high regard he knows she’s referring to him. Penelope continues to fight against Will but he likes that, he likes her fight. He tells her he knows she’s used to playing with submissive girls and she says she likes them because they’re soft. He sees her pussy is pierced. She tells him she got it for herself after college. He asks her to stand and she refuses and he spanks her. He tells her if she obeys, he’ll reward her. He tells her to show him what she likes and she realizes she’s started to finger herself without a fight and tells him she has had enough for the night but will tells her they haven’t. He paddles her in the public room and then rewards her there as well by licking her. He now knows she likes light paddle play. After he pleasures her he has Nolan make sure she gets in a cab safely. He shows up to her work the next day and she tells him she wants his fingers, mouth, and his dick. And to fuck her in her office. And he does. He didn’t allow himself pleasure. He was holding back to keep his control. They went out for dinner and then went to serve. He told her to strip in public. He wanted her privately but knew that beat the purpose of going to serve. He used a vibrator on her and started with a flogger and he thought he heard a sob and checked on her and then she said Dracula, she was in her bonds. He hurried to get her out of her bonds, and dropped the vibrator to the floor and carried her into an empty private room. He held her and wrapped her in a blanket. Will feels so bad. He tells her he knew she was mouthing off when she told him she wanted all 3, but he thought they were well within her boundaries but he pushed too far. She said she was fine and then, he just held her close. (Okay I won’t lie I’ve done a lot of listening without documenting in here so I might miss some things) will and penelope have started having some form of sex every night whether it be at his house or serve. She tells him she’d like to extend it past the 7 day period and he agrees. He realizes how much in his feelings he’s getting with her so he forms a surprise. She has a date with her friend Addison and on that day will had surprised her at work and gave her an orgasm and her assistant made a comment about the perks and she fired him. She realized maybe wanting more time with Will wasn’t good for the company. Her father had always said her and her mother were the worst distractions for his company and she worries about that. She had went to his house that night and begged not to talk that she just needed a distraction and he gave it to her. The next night he had hee meet him at serve for her surprise. He had her in handcuffs and a spreader bar and then she felt 2 sets of hands on her. She didn’t like it but she just had to keep telling herself they were just an extension of Will and he wouldn’t allow anyone to touch her that he didn’t trust. Will fucked her while she sucked the man’s dick and then the man left. He said he hoped he enjoyed that because he’ll never get that again no one else is ever touching her that he was not okay with him licking her pussy. Afterword they were talking and he had invited her to his family dinner the next day. After the scene they also went back to his house. The next day whike at work she called him but no response. That night she started getting ready for his family dinner even though she hadn’t heard from him. He called and told her, dinner, one drink and then she needs to fake a headache so they can leave. They get to the family dinner and Will knows he should have thought this through. The house just keeps making him think of his mom. And her leaving. He’s cold at dinner and to penelope. When Sarah asks what they’ll do about their careers when they get married, penelope fakes her headache and it’s time to go. She asks him to talk to her and he tells her no and she says he needs to be honest with her and he says as her dom she only needed to be honest with him. She tried to stand her ground and told him she knew feelings were scary and he said did you honestly think I was falling in love with you. This was just a 7 day agreement and now it’s over. And then he walked away leaving her there with her heart broken. She even called out that he’s more like his mom than she thought and he just kept walking. Garrett corners will after 5 days and asks what’s going on. He tells him that he knows their mom leaving really fucked them up and will tries to deny it but Garrett admits how it messed with him too and how love can change a person. Will says he can’t be in love in a week but Garrett says otherwise. Will tells Garrett he had lied to him that he had never talked to dad or got closure on mom leaving like he claimed. He had said those things before so Garrett wouldn’t screw up with Ridley but now will is going to screw up with Penelope. Garrett tells him he’s never regretted taking his leap of faith with Ridley. Will realizes he’s in love with penelope and he has to get her back. Penelope walks out of her office and thinks it’s will but it’s Garrett. He tells her her Dom is requesting her presence she tells him she doesn’t have a Dom anymore and if he wanted to see her he could have gotten her himself. Garrett asks her Safe word which is Dracula and then he scoops her up and puts her in a car Ridley is driving and they drive her to serve. When she gets there will gets down on 2 knees and tells her he loves her and he’s not taking this lightly. This is him submitting to her to prove his love. She asks his hard limits and he says anal and group play. She asks his safe word, he says falcoln. So she says okay follow me. She takes him into a private room and shuts the door. She can sense wills confusion and she tells him it he’s going to submit to her she’s not going to do it in front of an audience and he tells her not just a scene, he’s giving her a full 7 days. She had him hold the bar and she flogged him and then she made him lay on his back while she stripped and rode him. And he told her he loved her and was sorry and she told him she forgave him and they went back to her being the sub. 6 months later she comes into the room and sees Will with another woman and thinks he wouldn’t hurt her this way. And he tells her he wasn’t sure her preference but she’s a gift for her. He knows she’s a switcher and that she likes to play Dom so he gifted her a sub. He tells her he knows she didn’t usually sleep with her subs and she says she never did. She thinks back to their three some who she still doesn’t know who the third was. It was fun but never again. She flogs the girl and then she has her sit next to will. Penelope climbs onto wills lap and makes out with him and tells the girl to watch and finger herself til she cums. Once she does penelope wraps her in a blanket and snuggles her next to will. Once the girl has calmed down and left will and penelope have sex and then he asks her to marry him. He tells her he meant to ask her tmrw at the opening of falcoln but he can’t wait any longer. He knew the second she took him back he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. She says “yes sir”. I really really loved penelope and will. I loved getting glimpses of Ridley and Garrett as well. Since penelope played a big part in them finally giving in to each other. I loved wills dominance but also his way he gave himself over to penelope to show how badly he wanted her back. I don’t particularly love the sharing parts of their sex which I don’t think they liked either but besides that their sex was pretty hot too. Betting on fate was the perfect title. They never would have ended up together if will and penelope hadn’t made that bet about the deal. They were competition and hated each other in a way. But once they were commuted to each other for 7 days, all bets were off and they fell in love. They bet on fate and didn’t even know it.

When I met Penelope in the previous book of the series and she briefly mistook Garrett for Will, I immediately liked her. I suspected a strong, sassy, defiant woman and that is exactly what she turned out to be in her own book.
When Will was decribed by Ridley as "ice" in the previous book (the one about his twin Garrett who was described as "fire") I was immediately intrigued. When he lectured Garrett about how stupid he was being towards Ridley and love, that's the moment I fell for Will and became even more eager to read his story. I wanted to see the Ice King lose control and fall in love.Because isn't that the ultimate sexy thing: to see an Ice King melt because the perfect woman has the fire to make that happen?

I really loved the chemistry between Penelope and Will and loved the switch angle in the BDSM. Seeing Penelope struggle with her need to submit to the man she least wants to submit to but. Seeing Will being all confused about his feelings and fighting not to lose control. The verbal sparring between them contributed highly to my enjoyment of this book. I loved how Penelope's defiance would spark Will's loss of control. It all worked splendidly for me.

Also, this is the first book in the series where the BDSM worked extremely well for me. It's still kept "light-BDSM" enough for it to be much to my taste but there's also just a bit more intensity, probably because of the switch angle added to it. I loved this. It made the dynamics between Penelope and Will very different from the previous couples' dynamics as the exchange of power was much more balanced.

Will is my fave hero of the series so far. Though his talk isn't as dirty as the other ones because of his control issues I suspect, he's so much more intense and the little bits that slip from his control are so freaking good! Every time he called Penelope "pet" or praised her, every time Penelope called him Sir I couldn't stop a shiver from going through me. This book was really really hot in a way that gave me goosebumps. It's wasn't because of a distinct thing I can point out, it was more in the build-up in the feelings and intensity of the sexy stuff, I think.

I loved the brief appearance of Addison and mention ofCaine from MEETING HIS MATCH. I loved those two in their book and adored the itty bitty tiny glimpse of their HEA!

BETTING ON FATE was amazing! I had minor issues with the first three books in this series, making them 3 rather than 4 star reads but I LOVED EVERYTHING about this one. It was perfect in every way and makes me very happy that I stuck with the series and continued reading after the second book. I look forward to the next two books in the series!

Memorable Scenes:
- the one in Penelope's office > All I'm saying is: desk-smexing...
- the one at Serve where Will pushes Penelope to hard > The way he tries to make it right again and the emotional exchange that followed a moment that really got to me.

Favorite Quotes:
Before she could process this turn of events, he kissed her—a deep, drowning kiss that swept away every single one of her fears and left only need in its wake.

“You’re going to submit. To me.”
“Yes.”
“What about your precious control?”
He looked up into her dark eyes, trying to see something—anything—to indicate her state of mind. For the first time, though, her thoughts were closed to him.
“If I have to chose between control and you, I choose you.”

If you follow my reviews on the blog or know me personally, it won't come as a surprise to you that I love the Brazen collection from Entangled. It's a decadent reading escape every single time! These stories are written with such passion and they always deliver on the HEA that I want for the characters.

Betting on Fate is the fourth installment in the Serve Series and can be read as a standalone. The previous books in this series (Owned by Fate & Exposed by Fate written by Tessa Bailey, and Mistaken by Fate by Katee Robert) are all pretty steamy and captivating. I highly recommend them!

In Betting on Fate, we follow Penelope Carson and Will Reaver. These two are fierce competitors when it comes to business. The chemistry that has been building between them from the moment they met explodes when Penelope loses a bet. She has to become Will's submissive for a week. As days go by, Will and Penelope share moments of passion that will turn their world upside down. Are they ready to lose control and give into their feelings?

I really liked Penelope and Will from the first time I met them in Mistaken by Fate. Penelope only has a brief scene in the book, but she stole the show! I knew that the moment she and Will would end up in the same room, it would be charged with sexual tension. They are both intense characters that know exactly what they want, and they are not afraid to go after it! I am not a big reader of BDSM romance, but the Serve Series is a series that I absolutely loved! Well written stories with strong characters, steamy scenes and filled with romance.

The connection between Penelope and Will was strong. They both dominate in and out of the bedroom and when these two get together ?!?!?! Whoaaaa!!! Their chemistry set my kindle on fire! Katee Robert wrote some pretty scorching scenes. *Fans Self* Out of all the books in this series, Betting on Fate, is the book where we can explore more in detail the world that hides behind the doors of Club Serve. Will was in a constant battle to not lose control. He wanted to dominate every aspect of his life and giving into his feelings was making him run in the other direction and far away from Penelope. Penelope was such a strong heroine. Even if Will turned her world upside down, she never lost control of who she was and she wasn't afraid to express how she felt.

I have no clue if Sara, Garrett and Will's sister, will get her own story. I really hope so! I love her to pieces and I hope we haven't seen the last of Club Serve!

I give, Betting on Fate, by Katee Robert 4 panty-melting, kinky, hot, page-turning stars!

Two dominant natures clashing for power? It certainly was interesting to watch. Rivals for contracts, Will and Penelope find themselves betting a week of submitting to the winner. And it's her who has to wear his collar and submit to his erotic games of power.

I must say it was highly entertaining to witness these two proud characters tease each other, find their limits. She challenges her temporary Dom for all her worth and, to his surprise, he likes it. She's afraid to lose herself in the process while it won't mean a thing to him.

While they play out their seven days, there are scenes full of heat and bdsm games. They challenge each other, push their boundaries and exchange fun verbal banter. It's obvious they're afraid to let go and put their souls in someone else's control. At the same time, they can't really stop doing it piece by piece.

When their first emotional boundary is crossed, I loved the way she wants to stay with him afterwards, but is afraid to ask, to go too far. Will is there to save both of us (the character and the reader) and take us with him, surrounded by his strong, comforting arms. It was perfect.

As things progress, there is a scene at the club that broke the magic a little for me. I understand where it came from. I'm not against threesomes in a story, but they have to grow on me from the start, either be part of the romance or be there before it begins. This one was there to prove the Master's command over his sub. Great point in their relationship, for sure, but it's not my cup of tea when a stranger walks into a couple's connection. It destroys the magic for me, sorry. However, it was very well described and with taste. No complaints in the passion department with this story and author. It's all really hot.

And I also liked how troubling it is for them to fall in love because it might mean to lose themselves, to fall into mistakes their parents had made before and risk everything they've accomplished. I could relate to them as real people. In the end, after a painful fight and an epiphany for both of them, the happy ending is our reward. Good writing and an original story. Go ahead and read it!
