If I Had Words

Rate this book
I found a list of cool words that we don’t have in English, and I decided to write drabblish things to illustrate them. Because you know. Why not. This is a series in that it is a collection of little stories based on strange words, but they are not connected or in any kind of sequence.

A collection of short stories based on words that don’t have an exact English equivalent, the only thing you can do is to explain them, circumscribe them.

Some of these stories fit into existing ‘verses (Foundations!verse, Turn!verse, Fluffy!verse, All Life Is Yours to Miss), others are stand alones.

Word #1
A Turn!verse story.

Word #2
A Foundations!verse story. Clive’s first birthday party at the Malfoy Manor. Cute little story.

Word #3
This word captures that special look shared between two people, when both are wishing that the other would do something that they both want, but neither want to do.
A stand-alone. I loved this one!

Word #4
A Ron-Hermione-Rose-Hugo short from Turn!verse.

Word #5
A really great stand-alone! It is set in Hogwarts, told from the viewpoints of Blaise, Pansy and Greg.

Word #6
Stupid Malfoy and his stupid face.

Another school-fic.

Word #7
The urge to pinch or squeeze something that is irresistibly cute.
A Snape – Lupin short! Fantastic!
There’s something about a grumpy Severus that makes him feel rather squishy inside, and the grumpier Sev gets, the squishier Remus seems to feel.

Word #8
Another great Draco-Harry school-fic.

Word #9
A Turn!verse, maybe, or stand-alone?

Word #10
It was weird.

Word #11
An All Life is Yours to Miss fic. Lovely!

Word #12
A Ron-Hermione short. Ron is behaving badly.

Word #13
Not too much, and not too little, but juuuuust right.
Beautiful!

Word #14
A Turn!verse story, featuring Maura. Funny.

Word #15
An awesome Foundations!verse story.

Word #16
Another great Foundations!verse story, featuring Clive and Marley.

Word #17
A Pansy – Padma short.

Word #18
A Foundations!verse short. Lovely, heartwarming.

Word #19
A Turn!verse story, a fun Ginny – Blaise short.

Word #20
A lovely Turn!verse story, told from Misu’s viewpoint.

Word #21
A funny Hogwarts fic.

Word #22
The first one I’ve heard before.
Foundations!verse, no appearance of Harry and Draco, only Eloise, Cecile, and some other healers and nurses. Fun story.
The staircase is quiet for long seconds as department heads, trainee Healers and nurses alike gaze around at each other, exchanging delighted, conspiratorial smiles and basking in the unexpected connection that despising Augustus Tremellen has given them.

Word #23
A Turn!verse story, a day at the zoo.

Word #24
An All Life is Yours to Miss short. Wonderful.

Word #25
An amazing dream. Not just a "good" dream; the opposite of a nightmare.
A Hogwarts short. Too short, actually.

Amazing collection, highly recommended!

Adorable and hilarious. Learning fun new words and getting to read Sarah's Girl's version of Drarry: fantastically great fun.
