I’ve never had an issue with scoring—

Touchdowns and women alike.

Except with her.

We had our chance but life was too small for me back then.

I needed more.

So I left.

But now I’m back for Homecoming and our reunion.

I thought I could get in and get out.

Joke’s on me.

My hometown crush is more than my kryptonite.

She’s also off limits and my best friend’s little sister.

That should be enough for me to keep my hands to myself.

But some rules are meant to be broken.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

We aren’t who we used to be.

It’s time to take what I want and make her pick me this time.

Every good girl deserves a bad boy. ~Weston

Sterling returns to his hometown for the 1st time since his mothers death for his 10 year highschool reunion. He finds the fatm he grew up on in major disrepair, and has some bridges to mend with his friends, Jake and Eric, he also discovers that feeling he had for Erics sister Daphne are different from any he has ever felt before for any woman, except her 10 years earlier, although he never went there with her. Not even a kiss.
Daphne crushed on Sterling before he left their hometown 10 years ago, so when he kisses her after the bakery has a fire she has hopes for more, even though she tells herself not to..
Can these two find what they are try looking for?

This is a well written book with strong characters in Sterling and his best friend's sister, Daphne. After five years away, he returns home to his small home town for his high school reunion where he connects with Daphne. The author takes you into their lives with attraction and discovery and kept me turning the pages with the action and emotions. He moves the story fluidly with his descriptive scenes and delivers a terrific read.

Wall Street investment broker Sterling North is taking a six-week leave of absence to return to his hometown of Allisburg, Vermont not only to attend the tenth high school reunion but to sort out some family business with his dad. Daphne LaSalle, his best friend Eric’s little sister, is going to pick him up at the airport because Eric has a hard deadline to fix a client’s car. Sterling nd Daphne have a secret attraction to each other which is off limits because of Eric’s mandate. And when he arrives home at Northfield Farms, he is surprised and dismayed about the deterioration and the gloom that had settled over it, not to mention the state of his now decrepit father.

As the reunion grows closer, Sterling spends more time catching up with Eric and another friend Jake, whose construction company he hires to make repairs to his dad’s house and barn. But as many times as Sterling tries to talk to his dad, he is rebuffed, the same way he is treating Daphne because the more he sees her, the more he is tempted.

Ooh, what a delicious second-chance story Weston Parker offers up! I was immediately immersed in the exciting plot line, the well-crafted characters, the incredible landscape, and the warmth of small-town living (not including the mean girls). One of my favorite scenes is Sterling coming upon his sleeping father cradling a photo album filled with pictures of Sterling with his now deceased mother. Page after page of memories that magnify his feelings of loss for the mother he so dearly loved. Lovely!

The path to HEA for Sterling and Daphne is filled with challenges that lesser people would succumb to, but our brave couple embraces the challenges and instead grows from them. Kudos to Weston Parker for another steamy romantic gem to add to his collection, so grab your copy today!

Coming home to find more than a class reunion

Sterling North is an investment banker in NY. He's has been away for ten years with his career. The last time he was home was for his mother's funeral. He knew he had to go because he was the class president.
When Sterling got home, he was in for a shock. His dad was angry and had let the fsrm go in disrepair and had lost weight.
He wouldn't communicate with him. Sterling figured this is going to be a long six weeks.
It's now coming time for the pumpkin festival at Northfield Farm. His father still took care of the pumpkin patch, but he let everything else go. He was lost without Sterling's mom. She was his wife.
In the meantime, Daphne Lasalle worked in the bakery on the farm. He always had feelings for her, but she was his friend Eric's little sister. But he always loved her from afar. He knew Eric would not like it if he was attracted to her.
Daphne always had a crush on Sterling. She was three years younger than him. She had gone away to college but came back to work as an elementary school teacher. She loved working at the bakery just like Sterling mom.
When they finally bumped into each other, the attraction was felt by both of them. But they knew it was going to be hard to hide it from Eric.
Little by little, these two people realize that they do care about each other. But knowing that Sterling is not staying. Will this bring heartbreak for them? Or will love win?
Another great story of love and caring for themselves and their families by Weston Parker.
Weston, you always leave me wanting more of your love stories. Great job.

This is a very heartwarming story about 3 best friends, Eric, Jake and Sterling growing up in a little farm town in VT and Sterling having feelings for Eric's little sister Daphne which he knew he could never act on.

Time goes by and Sterling leaves for college and a job on Wall Street in NY not going back to his friends and the town he couldn't wait to leave. He was an only child and his mom, who he adored and loved, had died before he left for college leaving his dad alone on the farm. Fast forward it is his high school's reunion and the town's fall festival that Sterling decides its time to go home and check on his dad and reunite with his friends who he has pretty much abandoned. When he runs into Daphne he realizes he still has feelings for her even tho its been years. Their relationship is rocky, but intense with passion and feelings that neither can ignore or pretend isn't there. But she lives in Allisburg and doesn't want to leave and he lives in NY and doesn't want to stay. Sterling knows that his best Eric, would never approve of their relationship and is torn between the two. He finally admits his feelings to himself and decides he wants Daphne. The ups and downs will keep you turning page after page and you will be right there with them with the emotions and intensity of their relationship and desire to be together despite the things/people trying to pull them apart. This is a really great read and you will not be disappointed. This was absolutely one of the best reads from Weston and I LOVED IT!

Wow. This book is so good. Weston has another 5-star book with Pick Me This Time.
Sterling North was Daphne’s crush since who knows when. The only problem is that he was her brother’s best friend and that was a no no. Sterling walked Daphne home from a party his senior year and Daphne just new he was going to kiss her, but he didn’t. He moved from Vermont to the Big Apple in pursuit of making plenty of money and moving up the corporate ladder which he did. The only time he returned home was 5 years ago for his mother’s funeral now 5 years later it is his class reunion and he is back in town. When Eric can’t pick him up from the airport he sends Daphne. Neither knowing who is who they are shocked to see one another. Sterling acts like a jerk but only because he is taken back about how beautiful Daphne is and he knows he has to keep his distance. Now back home he finds things aren’t so good with his family farm and he finds himself having lots of life choices to make.
I love loved loved this book. Daphne and Sterling’s love story is so well written that you won’t want to put the book down. They have been crazy for each other but will Eric interfere or will New York stand in their way?
I received an arc copy of this book and I am freely leaving my honest review.

Sterling was Daphne’s brother’s best friend in high school and the star quarterback. She always had a crush on him but he acted like he didn’t know she existed. Ten years later he’s a successful Wall Street investment banker who’s back in town for his high school reunion and to clear up some family affairs. This is the first time he’s been home since his mother’s death. His relationship with his father is not the best. He’s surprised when Daphne picks him up at the airport instead of her brother. He’s shocked at how gorgeous she’s become but knows she’s off limits. She thinks he’s grumpy and doesn’t realize he’s trying to hide his feelings. A slow burn, second chance romance that will draw you in right at the beginning. Great story line and wonderful characters that you’ll fall in love with. I received this book as an ARC via the author and and voluntarily chose to leave a review.

Not sure if this is better classified as Best Friend HEA, 2nd (or 3rd) chance HEA or even enemies to lovers HEA! Regardless - it's a GREAT book with a ton of interesting characters. The conflict abounds in this story...very true to life issues of living in a small town. Sterling is the top dog in high school, but heads out of a small farm town in Vermont for life in the big city. Daphne, his best friend's little sister, always had a crush on Sterling, but knew it was just a pipe dream. She grew up and stayed in their sleepy little town and made a life for herself there. Ten years later, it's Sterling's high school reunion. He's only been back once, for his mom's funeral, so there's a lot to unpack in his visit. Things have changed - not all for the better - and he has to come to terms with what he wants to do next. I really enjoyed this story, the characters and how well it's all weaved together. Highly recommend!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Sterling and Daphne. Sterling now works on Wall St. and is returning home to a small town for his high school reunion. Sterling grew up on a farm and hasn't been back since his mother passed away. Daphne had a crush on Sterling when they were in school and he was best friends with her brother. Daphne is happy living in the small town and working in the bakery on Sterling's father's farm. When she picks Sterling up from the airport as a favor to her brother, Sterling is rude and keeps his distance from her. Sterling wasn't expecting to see Daphne grown up to be a beautiful woman and he knows she is off limits from him. They keep running into each other because Daphne is helping plan the reunion. Eventually Sterling must face his feelings for Daphne and for the state of the farm. I liked this book, i really liked the friendship between Sterling and his friends. I think he really cared for Daphne and knew where he belonged.

A homecoming story
Sterling is a workaholic trying to make it big in New York. He does take leave and virtually lives at his office, the last time he went back to his home town was for his mother’s funeral. But it’s coming up to his tenth anniversary of graduating from school and he’s taken six weeks off for all the celebrations, and plans to use the time to speak to his dad about preparing for the future and the arrangements for their family farm.
Sterling was part of a tripod at school, with best friends Jake and Eric. He was supposed to have come home for Jake’s wedding, but never made it. They were all big in the school football team.
Will this be his chance to square things off at home, so he can go for a big promotion at work. Or will the lure of his hometown, and his next friends little sister change his plans?
This book deals with a number of complex relationship issues, and maybe some unspoken feelings, I loved this story, which I received as an ARC

•Brothers Best Friend.
•Off-Limits.
•Miscommunication.
•Second chance (in a way).
•Alpha male.

•Sexual Tension is tensioning.

It was a cute -quick (spicy) read. There are awkward moments, cringe, miscommunication and because it’s a Brothers Best Friend-lots of off -limits.

Daphne and Sterling were never high school sweethearts. Sterling is one of Daphnes brothers best friend. She is strong but has some vulnerable moments. Sterling comes back from the city with no plans to stay. Just fix things up, attend his reunion, and be back on his way. But his running into Daphne upends his emotions and possibly those plans. And any other plan he had for the foreseeable future.

I enjoyed the story. It was fun to go on this journey with Daphne and Sterling.

Thank you Mr. Parker and his team for this story. I leave this honest review.

Sterling North couldn’t get away from his hometown after he graduated from high school. Little did he know that decision was the first that would have such a huge impact on his life. Sterling is successful at work while his hometown takes a backseat for at least five years. The next major life event in his life is the death of his mother. Unfortunately, this devastating event impacted he and his father to their core. Back home to check on his father, Daphne, his best friend’s sister picked him up at the airport. What a shock for them at first glance plus the immediate attraction is off the charts. Weston Parker does an outstanding job of bringing me into their lives, past and present. This story has so many storylines that seamlessly convey how life decisions have unexpected consequences and how they affect others.

This Bookfunnel ARC is a fantastic read

Shortly after Sterling finished high school, he left his hometown where he is living a successful yet stressful life. A decade later he has returned home for a visit to spend time with his friends as well as guide his father in some decisions. He has denied his feelings for Daphne, his best friend’s younger sister for years, but seeing her again brings them all to the surface.

Daphne has had feelings for Sterling as well but since she never believed that he would see her as more than his best friend’s younger sister she has moved forward with her life. Now that he is back the chemistry and connection between them is undeniable but they have a lot to overcome included her brother and their very different lifestyles.

Sterling and Daphne take us on an emotional and heartwarming journey as they must decide if their love is worth fighting for.

What life will Sterling choose?

Sterling comes back from New York to his home town after ten years, except for his mother’s funeral. He couldn’t wait to get out of this town. Now he’s back for six weeks. He was attracted to Daphne, but it was hand off because her brother is one of his best friends. Daphne still lives there and loves it. She had a crush on Sterling when she was younger, which obviously has never gone away. This is a story about indecisiveness and revelations throughout his stay, and especially Daphne. I got frustrated with Sterling, but in a good way. Make up your mind already! There’s even some action going on with Daphne’s ex. This book is a page turner, for sure.

Oh my gosh. That was just stinking adorable. Sterling and Daphne were perfect for each other, but they had a lot they needed to work out first. From exes that didn’t understand the word ‘no’, to family dramas, to living in different cities, it seemed like the deck was stacked against them. But with the powerful chemistry that had been pulling them together for nearly as long as they’d known each other, the universe was just as determined to see them happily coupled up. That ending was too precious for words, and my fingers are crossed that we’ll get to see her brother star in a book of his own at some point in the future.

This book is about Sterling North who works in New York and is up for promotion and Daphne, Sterling's best friend Eric's little sister. Sterling's mum died a few years back in his hometown of Allisburg. His dad is still there running their family farm. Sterling comes back for his reunion and to sort out his dad's finances and to check on him. His mum set up a North farm bakery and he's never been inside since his mother died. The farm needs a lot of work doing to it.
Daphne has always had a crush on Sterling. He has always resisted her.
Their chemistry is so explosive. Will they give into their feelings. He still needs to leave for New York soon. Can she persuade Sterling to stay. You will have to read this book to find out.
Thanks Weston for another great read.

Sterling comes home for a 10-year reunion and to help his father on his farm. He thought he left this world behind. So do his best friends. Eric and Jake still like the guy, but he keeps brushing them off. Even missing Jake's wedding. This time might be different, though. And it comes in the form of Eric's little sister, Daphne.

Daphne has had a crush on Sterling forever. He never noticed her until he walked her home after a party in high school. But she is forbidden. She's Eric's sister. Their romance is slow at times, and very steamy at others.

Does Sterling stay in the small town or does he return to the life he lived in New York?
My only fault in this book is that it was way too long. The story could have been trimmed down by at least five or six chapters.

Sterling & Daphne are a perfect match; she excited will he choose her this time? 5 Stars! Back in his home town, after 5 years since his Mom's funeral, he's leaving in 6 weeks. Back to NYC and his high powered, high paying job. He needs to talk things out with his father and her brother, his best friend and pick right for his future! He continues to say he has to go back, but there really isn't any happiness there for him. Daphne has had a crush on him since she was 14; he almost kissed her before leaving for NYC 10 years ago. She's tried to forget him, almost married a physical abusive man, but she said no when he proposed. Thank you Weston for another incredible romance!

I absolutely loved this book. I found the characters to be wonderful, especially Sterling and Daphne. Sterling has come back to his old hometown for his school reunion. Sterling also has to fix his relationship with his Father, he hasn't been home since his mother's death several years ago either. Sterling flies home, and instead of his old best friend picking him up, he sends his sister instead. However, Sterling has had feelings for her since he was in school, which then, in turn, made the ride home very uncomfortable. Over time, Sterling tries to fix his relationship with his father and his best friends and with the added bonus of continuing to see Daphne. I really enjoyed the ending, but you will have to read it to find out.

Sterling was Daphne’s brother’s best friend although ten years ago he left town to go to college and then on to work in New York.
A typical brother’s friend not being good enough for his little sister but then there was a pile of anguish on both sides.
Sterling hadn’t got over the loss of his mother five years ago and how this had affected his father and the family farm. Daphne had ended an abusive relationship which she had kept details of from her brother.
It took a few ups and downs before they eventually realised they needed to be together and achieve their HEA.
A great love story with some steamy sessions thrown in. Likeable characters who I was rooting for from the outset.

I really enjoyed this book. I basically read it almost through from start to finish. The story stars Sterling and Daphne. She’s had a huge crush on him for a long time. But, he was her brother’s best friend and it was common knowledge her brother stood in that doorway. On night, on their way home after a party, Sterling walked Daphne home and she was sure he was going to make his move, but he didn’t. from a party his senior year and Daphne just . He moved to NY to make his fortune and hadn’t been seen til his mother’s funeral. Now, 5 more years, he shows at his class reunion and Daphne picks him up from the airport. Neither recognizes each other, but love won’t be denied.

Awesome book. A definite read.

So emotionally written. Weston Parker knows how to get his audience involved, and stay with him for the whole journey. Sterling is Daphne‘s big brothers best friend which means she is off-limits. It’s been 10 years since he’s been back to their hometown, and this visit proves to be the most important trip of his life. He has always liked Daphne, but stayed away because of Eric. But they are adults now and the love just flows out between them like a river. They can’t stop it. And they don’t want to. Such an excellent, excellent book. Romance that feels like it was sent from the gods. I could not put it down.

Sterling decided that small town life wasn’t for him. He left Vermont for the hustle and bustle of New York and to earn the money they never had growing up. Being back in small town Vermont after being gone for five years hits him hard. He doesn’t expect to see his best friends little sister Daphne working at the bakery on his family farm nor does he anticipate the shell of a man that is his father. Coming back to his roots digs up feelings from the past. The characters were developed in a way that kept you wanting more. This book was amazing.

He left town five years ago wanting something that his small town could not provide him. He is home for his high school reunion and finds his father in a bad way after losing his wife. He connects with Daphne and sparks ignite between them being his best friend's sister gives him pause. Will he throw caution to the wind and take his chance and stay in town after everything that he finds out since his leaving. This touching story had me all caught up in Sterling and Daphne his best friend's sister.

I love when a book pulls me in right away and this one did just that! I'm a sucker for childhood crushes so this one was right up my alley. Daphne was a sweet, smart, determined woman and I loved her deep feelings for Sterling. He really didn't stand a chance against her lol. I found the characters to be very loveable and I really enjoyed the peripheral characters. I'm hoping to read more from this group! If you enjoy a love story with drama, heartache, and spice, you won't want to miss this one! I was sent a complimentary copy and I am choosing to leave my honest review.

Another great read by Weston Parker. I loved this book. This story had all the elements of nostalgia, dealing with family, friends, and rekindling an unfulfilled romance. Sterling and Daphne are finding romance from the dreams of when they were growing up. The story takes you on this fabulous ride of life. Sterling going back to his small town from the big city to check on family and finds a lot more. The characters are so well developed, it’s a joy to read. The reader gets so involved, that you are left cheering and wanting more. It is the ultimate HEA.
