When I bake, I’m meticulous and creative. Passionate. Same goes for when I murder people…

I wasn’t born a serial killer. The horror of my past made me what I am today.
But I couldn’t stop even if I wanted to. Because only one thing gives me respite from my panic attacks.
Murder.

I used to have a broody protector that kept my demons at bay. His darkness rivaled my own, and he was my everything.
Tragedy tore us apart when we were eighteen. And since then, he’s stayed away.
Not too far, though.
Even though he thinks the universe is conspiring against us, even though he won’t talk to me, he obsesses over me from afar. Stalks me.
Visits me while I sleep.
But I’m done with the distance between us. The universe is no match for me.

Because Tyler Price is mine.
And this Halloween, I’m coming for him.
Whether he’s ready or not…

I loved Dahlia and Tyler. i loved Their moments together. I loved how Dahlia was so obsessed with Tyler that he was always on her mind and she was on his mind too. He even had a blog where he would talk about his obsession with her. There were sad moments where he was like you deserve better and he would leave her but would still stalk and they made me sad because she would cry for him but he would always return. But she would says shes his and hes hers. I loved them getting together because he made her happy and she didn't have to stalk him no more because they were each others.

If you love a good dark age gap serial unaliver romance, this is the book for you. Dahlia has been through hell, her parents dying when she was young, leaving her and her older brother to grow up with a shitty uncle. Until one Halloween when they've finally had enough. And their neighbor Tyler, who cane to check on them, ends up helping Dahlia, and many years later, falling in love with her. Its such an amazing book, as always, Eva did an amazing job developing this relationship between Tyler and Dahlia.

I loved this story. You have some unhinged MCs that are perfect for each other in every way. The stuff they do to each other because of their obsession is so cute yet so toxic and I’m here for every bit of it!!
This is the perfect story for the spooky season, as it has all kinds of Halloween themes throughout. Honestly I wish we had a bakery that had these Halloween cupcakes that keep getting talked about throughout the story, even tho I’m not sure I could look at them the same after reading a certain scene in this book. 🤣 That scene might stick with me for a while against my will.
The spicy scenes in this story were everything I could have wanted. It’s rough, hot, and exactly what I would have expected from these MCs. I’ve read numerous books from this author and each book she writes have some amazing scenes in them along with a solid plot that keeps me interested throughout the entire story.
This story was a very good read and I loved the HEA this couple got 😍 Please check your TW before going in because it can get pretty dark in some parts, however it was all worth it in my opinion!

Excuse me? Like what!?
This book had me giggling and kicking my feet right from the Authors note at the start 😉 IYKYK 😘
I mean seriously! Halloween, cupcakes, unaliving people AND a hell of a F***fest! What more could you possibly want?

This damn right sinful story about Dahlia ,the badass FMC, follows her journey right from the start where she was abused by her uncle after losing her parents, some stuff happens and she ends up as Tyler's ward until she turns 18,
Now Tyler is the MMC but don't come @ anyone for it, he didn't touch her until well after the fact. They have just been stalking each other since he cut contact after she turned 18, what's the harm in that 😉
Anyways Dahlia now has this amazing cupcake business of her own making the BEST cupcakes in the state! Her speciality are her Halloween ones the entire month of October 😍 and what pairs well with cupcakes might we add? Well I'm glad you asked! Unaliving bad people of course silly! Every. Single. Night. Of. October. 😉 and who better to help than her tourchered ex ward once she finally stakes her claim on him all these years later? 😍🤤 because after all he is hers and she is his 🖤

This book is a must read for all my dark romance/horror romance lovers out there!

Eva you did it again 😍😘🖤

I want to start by thanking Ashley for recommending this wonderful author, and of course Eva for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC of this masterpiece. And yes, I said masterpiece because for me it is. If you don't believe me please go to Amazon and order it, because it's worth it I assure you.

Dahlia and Taylor are the epitome of love, passion and pure obsession they have for each other. I really liked that she also stalked him and “played” with him while he slept peacefully.

Dahlia's inner monologues are incredibly funny. This woman's sense of humor is exceptionally dark and sarcastic and I love it, I am proud that she is my namesake.

The spicy scenes are deliciously hot. Please check the TW, there is dub con, blood and knife play, chastity belt and other BDSM related things. Do not continue if that's something you are not comfortable with. Also keep in mind that both characters are serial killers and there are scenes describing the ways in which they kill their victims.

I really enjoyed the way they stalk each other, the fact that they accept each other as they are, dark, ruthless, broken, and that they don’t try or expect the other to change, they accept one another without judging or criticizing, and they support each other unconditionally.

This book has definitely become one of my favorites of the year, to say that it is in the top 5 is an understatement.

Eva Marks’ book Bake the Town Red is one you don’t want to miss.

Dahlia and Tyler are connected by a dark pass. Tyler saved her from her abusive uncle and acted as her guardian until she became of age. Then, he disappeared from her life… at least he did on the surface. But the fact of the matter is, the two of them were always watching each other. They’re both obsessed. They’re both in love. And they’re both depraved. There is a game of chess written within their story. Meaning, that the two are always making calculated moves to ensure that their love story doesn’t end in tragedy… but tragedy seems to follow them everywhere. They are both filled with secrets, with dark carnal urges that they must satisfy with blood. There love story has more than what meets the eye and will have you gripping at your seat, desperate for more.

The tension between Tyler and Dahlia is absolutely delicious. The constant push and pull dynamic they have will leave a reader addicted to their story. Their love is based in a warped psychopathy as the two constantly fight for dominance and each other. They are able to extinguish the ghosts of each other’s past and speak to each other’s soul with each and every embrace. Their love is unhinged, obsessive, and they share a strong codependency that will leave you swooning for more. This isn’t an innocent girl running towards the red flag, this is two red flags conjoining and covering the universe with their insanity. I love these characters and the way that they interact with each other. They are able to heal and destroy each other, love and despise, to embrace and push away. Their love is strong and they are willing to go to the ends of the earth for each other. Their violent insanity makes them unpredictable. It makes them turbulent yet secure. Their relationship is an enigma, an outlier, and a paradox. But no matter what the reader’s perception might be on their dynamic, it is without a doubt absolutely intoxicating. In a battle of wills and a war of passion, their story is one that will stick with you for a long time.

I simply cannot rave enough about how much I love this book! Eva Marks is an incredible author who is passionate about the stories she weaves. It is marvelous to see such a fantastic author with a unique voice and style and I highly recommend you read other books by her.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for Bake the Town Red perfect timing for spooky season. This story takes place during Halloween and follows Dahlia Valentine and Tyler Price, and I can't decide who is more unhinged and psychotic. Both of these characters have all the traits that you would want in a serial killer. Dahlia is a baker, but there is nothing innocent about it. She lures in her victims with tasty cupcakes and turns into a deviant killer who you will fall in love with. Her personal monologs will have you laughing as the gruesome scenes unfold. Never in my life did I think baking could be so violent. Tyler Price he is also very ruthless, especially when it comes to getting Dahlia. The video game programmer has tried to stay away from her for years but has been keeping an eye out on her all along. What he doesn't know is that his little Savage has been doing the same. Both characters accept each other for who they are no matter how many people they kill in the process. Eva Marks' writing style keeps you wanting more. Every chapter has something to hold your attention. Obession Possesion Stalking Violence Terror Banter Spice this book has it all. But please check your trigger warnings. This book isn't for the faint of heart.
Happy Halloween, little savages.

"I’m what one might call the Santa Clause of Halloween. While no one gets gifts, the naughty ones get punishments."

"My man. It sounds so good. Lucifer personified sounds even better."

"I bet he could drag me into the pits of hell and pull me back out, if he wished. I wish he’d believe that, too. I’ll make him."

"He’s so handsome when he’s upset. More delicious than any cupcake I’ve ever baked."

"Her skin smells of sugar, vanilla, and death."

"If I’m the angel of death, then he’s the angel of wrath and vengeance."

I had to sit for a bit on my review for this because I wasn’t sure where I sat with it right off.

I rated it a 3.75 and rounded it up to 4 for Goodreads. I did receive the ARC of this title for free from the author. I’m thinking this book wasn’t the right fit for me personally.

However it was unique with a female serial killer (although it was reminiscent of Butcher and Blackbord) and how she came to be one as well as her relationship and how it changed over time.

It’s really hard to give an accurate review without spoilers which I won’t give! I think the book was just too unsettling where I would get distracted reading it and the writing style wasn’t for me. But for others that are into dark romance with a lot of spice and you check the triggers mentioned for the book it may be completely your thing. (I had no issues with the triggers or spice etc.. it was just how it came together for me) Many early reviewers really loved it so I am sure more will as well now that it is out for the public to consume.

I did appreciate that the author gave a lot of detail to fully put the reader into the story. The FMM also runs a bakery so being someone who loves to bake it’s what drew me to it in the first place. So I appreciated the bakery soon as usually baking based books are fluffy, cozy hallmark-esque type books and this is absolutely not!! But the baking angle does soften the hard edge of a dark romance which can make it reach a wider audience.

So give it a try! It’s a Halloween Horror mood setter for sure and it’s available also on KU!

This was the perfect book for spooky season and there's something I love about serial killers falling in love! Dahlia and Tyler are both so obsessed with each other and I'm here for it!! Having a complicated and traumatic past, Dahlia has found a way to cope - killing bad people every year during the month of October. Tyler's been stalking her for years, always watching her....but he's got a little secret too. The tension between them could be cut with a knife and the spice.....HOLY SMOKES! Their love might be unorthodox, but it is just as powerful and perfect!!

Set to release October 1st, but check the TW if you need to!

I received an ARC for this book, and all opinions are my own.

3.5 ⭐️, 5 🌶️

Wow there was a lot going on in this book and if you didn't read the TWs, good luck.

These two are like the Harley Quinn and Joker of serial killers. Absolutely psychos, toxic, UNHINGED, and over the top possessive and obsessive. Dahlia is very creative in her killing and there were many moments where my jaw dropped and then I had to text my friends about the absolute insane thing I just read. This book is full of unique gore and kink galore, and somehow I drew the line at eating a cupcake out of someone else's mouth. Who knew.

All things said, it was a fun and crazy read. It's Dual POV, with lots of inner monologues and some of the prose was kind of choppy. If you're looking for a dark dark romcom for spooky season, this is a good choice. If you're looking for something that's maybe more of in the psychological horror thriller or murder mystery genre, this ain't it.

Tropes and kinks:
Age-gap
Serial Killers
Stalking
OTT possessive/obsessive MCs
Somnophilia
Breeding
Blood and knife play🔪

Oh my goodness. I'm not even sure where to begin with this one....

Eva is one of my absolute favorite authors, and there hasn't been a book of hers that I haven't devoured and loved... and this one is NO different...buuuut it is different, lol.

This baby is UNLIKE anything I've ever read before, let alone unlike anything Eva has put out before, but the way I ate this up, on top of always being hungry for those darn cupcakes 🤣 I just can't even process everything right now.

My brain is mush because this book is so incredibly amazing. I was hooked from the start because it was just so unique and WILD! Dahlia and Tyler are both unhinged, insane, cray cray, and every single thing in between. Like imagine the craziest thing you've ever thought of and multiply it by 100, and that's what you get between these two. Lol!!

One thing about Eva's books is that you'll always find HEA, and it's always always always the sweetest thing ever!!! And my gosh, the way this story wraps up just had my heart melting throughout my body!

I had the privilege of reading this as an ARC so here is my review, ENJOY!!

This book was everything, it felt like a cozy fall read but with an unhinged morbid twist. I love a book with a female serial killer on a quest to satisfying her feminine rage. Dahlia not allowing Tyler to disappear out of her life and taking control was everything I want in a love story. And their undeniable chemistry is 🥵🥵 Definitely check your trigger warnings (and there's plenty of them) cause Dahlia is creative with her kills. I absolutely loved the obsessiveness both characters have over each other, it gives a comical banter you don't get from dark romance usually. Overall one of the best reads of the year!! Eva Marks definitely did a stellar job with this one! A great addition to your October TBR lists!!!

Beyond blown away! Eva!! Where have you been hiding! This may be the first book of yours I have read but I now plan to read them all!
I absolutely love how unhinged Dahlia is! Her torture methods are a thing of beauty. The sheer creativity involved with each victim had me giggling and kicking my feet. But also sometimes gagging. Seriously though, so much detail and gore. I enjoyed every second.
Dahlia and Tyler are two killer peas in a pod. I adore the way they stalk each other.
Dahlia bakes cupcakes during the day and takes out the trash by night. Tyler is the code writing internet sleuth who blogs about finding and turning in serial killers.
But then Tyler and Dahlia encounter another stalker. The twists are fantastic and the torture is epic. Seriously run for this book. It’s a must read for Halloween. 🎃

Holy freaking spooky crap!!! This book was absolutely batshit crazy in the best way!!! I loved Dahlia and Tyler’s story!!! Dahlia was absolutely freaking badass and I loved how she refused to let Tyler continue ignoring their love for each other. And Tyler’s fear of losing her made the first part of this book such an intense and entertaining experience. And when Tyler finally said screw it and takes what he wants was spicy and hot as freaking hell. This story was so much fun and amazing to read and I’m so glad they got their happy ending. Another amazing book by Eva!!! And all the damn spooky vibes I mean I really want to try some of Dahlia’s cupcakes they all sounded so dang delicious.

4.5 bloody creative stars.

The things Dahlia comes up with to unalive her victims … what the what?!? Death by so many kitchen utensils and sugary foods.

Although both Dahlia and Tyler were both serial killers and stalking each other - Dahlia takes the award for Unhinged Queen.

This was such a fun and perfect Halloween themed book. Makes me kinda want one of her famous cupcakes, but please for the love of everything don’t put me on Dahlia’s kill list.

Holy Halloween this book is THRILLING!!! Eva Marks you blow my mind…you get more wicked and sinful with every new book. These unalivers are explosively devilish and naughty.
Dahlia certainly has a way with chocolate and icing😳

Tyler and Dahlia’s story is CRAZY GOOD.

Their story is filled with raw emotion, desire, sorrow, guilt and a need to release the demons within.

Dahlia has seen what h3ll on earth is like, after being physically and mentally abused by her uncle, there’s definitely a sinister twist on how he did this and it was heartbreaking.

Tyler was Dahlia’s older neighbour who happened to help her and brother on occasion. Dahlia has had a crush on Tyler since she was fifteen but although he became her guardian and she an adult Tyler never gave into the attraction he developed for the beautiful and broken Dahlia.

Decisions are made and Tyler decided to remove himself from his temptation only to stalk her from afar, so he thought.

Determined to make it beyond her nasty past Dahlia opens up her bakery where she makes famous cupcakes but it’s her Halloween themes cupcakes that clients craves. It’s also in October that Dahlia slays those who have wronged and when Tyler keeps an extra special eye on her festive activities.
Dahlia believed fate brought Tyler into her life and her love for him only grew stronger as she hated him for leaving her. Little did Tyler know that beyond her mischievous October rituals, she too had been doing what he has all along.

The chemistry between Tyler and Dahlia is highly volatile, kinky with a whole lot of passion. It’s SIZZLING hot!!

Danger is lurking and together they will face it.
If you’re into men who are obsessive, possessive, slightly depraved, have a breeding kink but will love you unconditionally, then Tyler is your man.
If you like strong, determined, loyal and loving heroines with a side of vicious you will enjoy Dahlia.

Tyler and Dahlia’s story isn’t the meet cute kind, its carnage and rage. The need to devour each other in the most extremely explicit and illicit ways.

To say this book is a good dark, stalker, serial unalivers romance would be an understatement because I couldn’t put it down I was so CONSUMED with these characters and their story FASCINATED me from beginning to end !!
WOW… what an ASTONISHING story!!

Dahlia (FMC) and her brother Ian were left in the care of their abusive uncle after their parents died. Something traumatic happens on Halloween and when their neighbor, Tyler (MMC), goes to check up on them he finds them in a panicked state and says he's going to help.

Fast forward a few years and Dahlia has a cupcake shop where she targets people that hurt others and takes care of them. Because of that horrible night years ago Tyler is always watching her, making sure she's safe but keeps his distance as he feels she's not safe with him. He still wants her even after all this time and eventually can't stay away. They both have a dark side which allows them to connect on a deep level.

I really liked these characters. Tyler was protective and dominant & Dahlia was unhinged & caring (in a twisted way, she only hurt those that were hurting those who couldn't defend themselves) As always, Eva wrote lots of really spicy scenes which were descriptive and sizzling!!

The story kept me interested, wanting to know more about their past, trying to fit all pieces together. I did really enjoy the switch from present to past, it added to the mystery and suspense!

I found there were a few areas that became a little repetitive and there was a lot of push and pull leading to a very slow reuion but I think that may have been to show the struggles they had in keeping apart and how their trauma effected their life.

This book is for you if you like dark horror romance with serial unalivers!

'I'm what one might call the Santa Claus of Halloween. While no one gets gifts, the naughty ones get punished.'

Bake the Town Red by Eva Marks is a dark horror romance that is a perfect spooky season read. It will grab your attention from the very beginning.

After losing her parents, Dahlia and her older brother endured abuse at the hands of their uncle until one Halloween they fought back causing her brother to go on the run. Enter Tyler, their upstairs neighbour and the only one to try to help, who became her guardian until she turned eighteen.

Fast forward four years, and Dahlia is not only a successful baker, she is also a serial killer who lures her victims using her famous Halloween themed cupcakes. She is also obsessed with her former guardian. Although Tyler cut ties with Dahlia when she turned eighteen, he has always been close by, keeping an eye on her, not realising she has been doing the same.

There is a lot of detail in this story but it doesn't slow the pace, it helps draw you into the crazy world of the two serial killers. The dual POV and the switch between past and present added to the suspense and mystery, while the inner monologues bring some lighter moments to the book.

If you are looking for a spooky season read that is creepy and deranged, make sure you get your copy of Bake the Town Red. This book has it all - obsession, stalking, banter, terror, morbid humour, possession, spice, vigilante justice, unique executions and two of the most unhinged main characters you will meet.

Make sure you check the trigger warnings as this is not a book for the squeamish or the faint of hear. And just a word of warning - you may never look at cupcakes the same way again!

Perfect for spooky season

October is a special month. In the month of October , Dahlia had her first kill. Her uncle Al was a very bad mad. He made her brother, Ian, hit her until she couldn’t take it anymore.. and one night.. in October, she killed him. Her neighbor Tyler, who has always helped them, helped them get away with it.

Years later, Dahlia is doing what she loves to do.. with a twist. Dahlia owns a bake shop and she makes the best cupcakes. But once a year.. on October.. she uses her baking skills to lure bad people into the back of the bake shop and they’re never to be seen of again.

Tyler is now obsessed with Dahlia. So obsessed he even has a blog about her. Protecting her identity of course. He knows her every move, he watches her in her sleep, and he just can’t stay away. And Dahlia?? She’s just as obsessed with Tyler. She feels his presence when he watches her, she watches him too.

This is their story and this is the PERFECT creepy, spicy, deranged, spooky season read!! I absolutely loved everything about Tyler & Dahlia. Dahlia is such an eerily fun character. The things she does and the way she executes her victims is just so much fun to read!! Anything to do with serial unalivers I love .. but a female serial unaliver?? With dual stalking, morbid humor, and SPICE that SPICES!!! Yes yes yes!!! Eva Marks definitely killed it!!! Check your triggers but give this a read this Halloween!!

Well…… this was something else LOL. If you want/like unhinged, deprived and crazy books, please go ahead and pick this up Immediately. I mean this was out of this world C R A Z Y! Eva never and i mean NEVER disappoints me. This is my 4th book of her that I read and I can’t never find anything wrong with them, i just love them. This book will make you question yourself to the point where you going to cringe and you don’t know if it is cuz you liked it or you found it crazy enough to 🤮😅.

Taylor & Dahl have a very unusual kind of love and when I say UNUSUAL believe it lol they are all kind of crazy, and man I used to love cupcakes, now, I don’t know lol. Thank You Eva for that 😞🤪. But this book regardless of the nasty, unhinged and crazy it was beautiful at the end, their loves is definitely unique and honestly I cannot blame them for the way they are, the trauma they went through specially Dahlia, at the end of the day he saved her from all the bad she was surrounded.

Eva always surprises me with her book, but this one was more than a surprise 😅 this was like nothing I have ever read before and I loved it, again I’ll be going to therapy after this but so so worth it!

Spooky season is right around the corner and what better way to start it then to curl up with a dark and twisted read! If that's what you're into then this book is perfect! Lots of g0re, mayhem and st@lking. You'll following along with not just one but two s3rial un@livers on the path of self soothing past tr@uma and lots of fun uses of Halloween themed goodies! What's not to love?!

Dahlia has had a series of disasters, one after the other. The few good things keeping her going are her protective older brother and a sweet and caring neighbor. Her brother tries to protect Dahlia from the evil they live with the best he can and her neighbor tries his best to help the two as much and as often as possible without making their situation worse. With Halloween approaching and evil taking form, Dahlia is left to take measures into her own hands. In the hopes to set everyone's life free, did Dahlia's actions cause the opposite effect?

Tyler just wanted to help his neither out of an awful situation they had no way of escaping but life is messy and never goes to plan. So he pushes the only person he cares about away in hopes of keeping them safe. Not that his extra curricular activies keeps him too far away for long. By day Tyler writes code for a gaming company but by night he takes to the streets to make sure Dahlia is safe and her dreams of owning and running her own bakery is going smoothly.

But Tyler isn't the only one that's been keeping tabs on the other and they are getting tired of the waiting and hiding. So you best be ready Tyler because here they come!

Have you ever been afraid to be happy? Have you ever waited for the other shoe to drop, for all the happiness to end? If so then you might love this book and be able to relate to at least one of its characters. This is a very dark romance with plenty of traumatic events.
I loved this fun, dark, lust filled, spicy read by Eva. Tyler is protective and very possessive. He is also a bit nerdy and adorable. Did I mention he has a breeding kink and filthy mouth, yea it’s hot. Tyler and Dahlia are pretty unhinged, but I still love them and their twisted story. Both characters are filled with longing. Dahlia’s darkness feeds Tyler’s, they complete one another. His hunger is satisfied around her. He needs her in a way that is almost dangerous. I loved his inner monologue and the way he feels and thinks about her. It’s dark and morbid poetry. They come up with some interesting ways to use food and kitchen utensils. I am not sure I will ever look at a cupcake or ice cream scoop the same again. This was a great read for Halloween and if you just love unhinged characters that are obsessed with one another. Loved their ending.

This was different for Eva, and while I found it was not my cup of tea it might be your cup of tea. There was just something about this book that didn't sit well with me but that could just be because I am not in a good place in my life right now so my review will be about the book and not how much I did or did not like it. Overall, the plot of this book was good. I do think that this book will be a hit around halloween time. The characters were good and how they were together were both amazing and HOT! Tyler and Dahlia were so good together. I liked that this book was different from others I have read and how Dahlia was sooooo obsessed with Tyler. He was always on her mind and vice versa. To me it was like they were both stalking each other and that is what I found different about this book. I generally like where the FMC is the one being stalked and not the other way around but that's okay. This book has everything you could want in it and it's written so well in Eva fashion. Her writing never lets you down. That's one thing I can always count on with her!
