Raise your hand if you have been waiting for Daddy Tanner's book? I know I have! If you have read the full Boston Blizzard series then you know Tanner has made his appearance throughout each book and you only get a little nugget of who he is. Which made me so damn curious as to who this man is and who hurt him. Because it's obvious this man had his heart broken. And OMG, I didn't expect for this book to blow me away!
I first want to say that I feel some type of way that this series has come to an end. QB Keeper was the perfect ending to a series that I absolutely adore! And Daddy Tanner was everything I could have ever hoped for! This man was pure perfection!
I love second chance romances and this one was so good! I related to so many aspects of this book. Every emotion that Grace felt as her heart was breaking brought me back to being 18 years old wondering how I would ever move past that heart break and guess what? Candice, she mended a broken heart that she didn’t even break! Like to see both Tanner and Grace open their hearts back up to love after 5 years was so beautiful. I may or may not have cried... This was just such a beautiful story of love lost and found after years of being apart. Their growth as individuals and as a couple was perfect.
Candice, thank you for allowing me to be part of this journey with you! I truly loved everything about this series and I am sad to be leaving my Boston Blizzard boys behind. You have allowed me the perfect escape from reality and I can't wait to see what you have planned for the future! I love you so much!

40 % of the book is 5 years ago, where you see them explore their relationship and fall for each other.
The last part of the book is him trying to win her back, and her learning to trust him again.
He ended things because he didn’t want her giving up her dreams to follow him to be a pro player, and all the stress with fans and women making her worry - even he says he never even think to look at another women if he was with her, he didn’t want her to feel that. He also was afraid he would hurt her.
Former player:
5 years earlier, he has been with a lot of girls, but he says it’s been a while since he’s been focused on sports, and calls it a dry spell.
And he has never had BDSM before, as they are planning to have together.
After 5 years, he stayed celibate and learn properly BDSM so he never would hurt her again.
No owd, not even from the start of the book. He was a player, but he stayed celibate during there 5 year separation. He went on dates he was set up on, but they were not the FMC, so he stopped going.
He comes back, she’s engaged to another man. He’s stayed away because he didn’t want to mess up her life, but when he first sees her again, he starts showing up back in town every free time he has in hopes of running into her. And he does this first 4 months before things starts going his way.
Trigger: her fiance (not mmc) is cheating, and she discovers this 50% in the book.
But… she’s angry and pissed, but she acknowledged that she wasn’t heart broken over what happened.
- The ex was a douche and blackmailed her to keeping her mouth shut about him cheating or else he would end the project so many women and children would end up homeless. She gets her revenge!
The BDSM:
I have mixed feeling that he went to a club during there time apart to learn more about BDSM from a married couple. He never touched the married woman inappropriately, but it was hands-on learning experiences, so he could learn how to do this properly with her. He was open with the instructor that he had a woman and would not cross any lines.
“I’ve never gotten to fully experience a scene like this sexually,” he says, so he has only learned how to do this, not actually doing it’s with anyone. And he made his playroom at his house to match her hight and her likes. So his plan all along was to only do this with her.
Overall:
I liked this books, how he truly didn’t want anybody but her since almost the beginning of the book when he first saw her again. He did so much to make sure that if he ever got her back, he would be safe and secure for her. He tried to stay away because he was afraid that she didn’t love him anymore, and that feeling would hurt more that him keeping his distance.
Of course he had to be a player before he finally opened his eyes, he had experience and she was a V, but she was not celibate during there separation, something he was.
Felt the brother best friend trope wasn’t so clear, and the brother punches the mmc when he finds out, but it was kind of rushed in the end of the book, and suddenly they were hugging and everything was good.
But overall, really enjoyed it.

I FREAKING LOVE DADDY TANNER!
I don’t know enough ways to profess my love for this book! I’ve read CL since the first word she published and I will read her to the very last. I have been so ready For Tanner’s story from the beginning and let me tell you, HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT.
I loved Tanner and Grace with everything I am, and their story was exactly why I love second chance romance. Watching them fall in love, mess it up (here’s looking at you Tanner) and then finally get it right made me so damn emotional. I loved how we got to see their entire story in both timelines, and got to see Daddy Tanner do a little groveling (a lot of groveling.)

September 9, 2024damnnn. a second chance romance with a celibate hero? now that's how a second chance romance should be written👏🏽 the hero used to be a manhoe and the heroine was a virgin the first time they were tg but it had been a while for him since he'd been going through a dry spell. throughout their seperation, hero stays celibate and learns about BDSM with the help of a married couple (but doesn't want any other woman sexually. he does go on a few dates tho ig? idc about that as long as he hasn't slept with any of them) while the heroine is engaged and hasn't been celibate. sounds good to me which is why imma read it hehe☺️

I am all for a second chance, brother’s best friend, book. And this one absolutely SLAYED me okay??? I was unwell for days after.
Tanner finds himself over at his best friend’s house one night only to be greeted by his little sister, Grace, being the only one home. He was away for a minute but now that he’s back Grace is not looking so much as his ‘best friend’s little sister” and looks more like “I want to f*ck her”. After a movie night, these two find themselves in a growing relationship & she asks him to take her innocence (and maybe try a little BDSM while they are at it hehe)
Fast forward to present day, he broke her heart, and now he is back. Grace is now engaged to be married…until she’s not.
I literally ate this book up. I was screaming the entire time too. Like?? He teaches her kinks? He’s been down bad for her for years and she didn’t realize? Gah. There are so many things in this book that you have to experience that I can’t talk about because spoilers but just trust me besties LOL

★. The whole relationship was based on them both liking BDSm. The fiancé being a cheater was thrown in randomly so Grace and Tanner could be together. There was no chemistry besides their sex and even that was bland. The nickname “bunny”……just no. The breakup was stupid because it was a week or maybe two together of full sex and you want to drop your dreams for a d!ck? Girl come on now.
Her being engaged and being angry her fiancé wasn’t paying attention to her because he was working is INSANE too me….the cheating I’m not even touching because it was an obvious throw away plot. Tanner learning more about BDSM to please Grace only proved that their past was only about sex. They watch one movie on BDSM and all of sudden they are poster people for Fifty Shades of Grey with a playroom and all.

This book is divided into the past and present and I skimmed a lot of the first half simply because I didn’t want to read about teenagers exploring bdsm. I was looking forward to the inevitable breakup and grovel but couldn’t get past a few chapters into the present. Basically the heroine catches her fiancé screwing another woman in her bed and when she finally confronts him days later (???) he blackmails her into keeping it quiet because of his job. He works for her father and is doing something for the homeless. He’s like if you don’t keep your fat mouth shut, what’s gonna happen to those women and children huh?? And that’s when I had to stop reading. Like….. I don’t give a shit about other people when YOU fucked around ON ME! I’m sorry if that makes me a jerk but give me a break! I rolled my eyes so hard and just immediately DNF’d.

MY GIRL CL ROSE DID THE DAMN THING WITH THIS BOOK👏
I LOVED it so much. It’s definitely a favorite sports romance of mine that I’ve read this year. Tanner Lake was perfection. He was so swoony, funny, and filthy as hell.
I loved Grace. She was bubbly, fun, and had an I don’t give a f*ck what anyone thinks attitude.
This book was hilarious. I laughed a lot. And omg don’t even get me going on the spice. SOOOO GOOD😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
Generally with a second chance romance book, you don’t really see when couples are together for the first time. You typically get a small glimpse. We got a lot in this book and I really enjoyed it. Tanner and Grace spent a summer together and their physical relationship definitely turned into love. Then absolute heartbreak 😭 I loved watching them rebuild their relationship years later. The groveling was sooooo good.
All I have to say is Ch 30, yall. 🫠

This story is sweet, Lovable, heartbreaking, frustrating, funny, sexy and beautiful.

Tanner and Grace are a magnificent conclusion to the Boston Blizzard series. While filled with superior, explorative spice, QB Keeper's emotional impact is raw, powerful, and visceral. Right from the start it was pulling tears from me and at one point had me sobbing my heart out over the devastation brought about by Tanner's conflicted conscience.
Any book that sucks you in and immersive you so completely such as this one does, is worthy of the highest recommendation and star rating. This is not a book you can passively read. You will become a part of the story and feel the characters' love, anger, pain, and healing. It will steal away with pieces of your heart and you'll be all the happier for it.
A month later and QB Keeper is still playing on repeat in my head.
As for the spice, it's a C.L. Rose book. She is the queen of fluffy k!nk, so of course it is off the charts hot and sexy but also sweet and endearing.

I have been beyond feral for Tanner since book 1, so it was bittersweet, the anticipation, buildup and waiting. But it was EVERYTHING; it did not disappoint, completely surpassing my expectations! Not only was it a fantastic book on its own but what a way to end this series!
Tanner and Grace have my whole heart. I was in my feels the whole time; from giddy and excited to swoony and panting to utter devastation, savagely angry, gasping and wanting to throw my kindle, needing to take a break at points before I could go on, to applauding Grace and cheering for Tanner. Tanner hurt me but he totally made up for it with all his groveling and being my perfect MMC in a second chance where he messed up, his pining and heartbreak and how he loved Grace so desperately! Perfection!!! Also, Tanner’s present for Grace had me screaming and crying and kicking my feet!!! Who knew a paragraph about a lighthouse could make me bawl! And the epilogue! 🥹🥹 It so beautiful to see all the couples together and happy!
The spice in this book! It was so hot, super intense at moments for a variety of reasons, emotional and heartfelt. Candace always nails the heat! She seriously writes some of best spice! 🥵
Candace also must a special talent for know what nicknames to use. One of my all time favorites is Baby Doll (book 1) to Bunny (unlocking this one for me!) in this one. From every teaser (I had start scrolling past the teasers and other review posts because I wanted a pure and unfiltered Tanner experience) where Tanner calls her Bunny has done things to me that I didn’t expect from this nickname. Then the first time he says it in the book (it’s more sweet at that point but still!) just about sent me over the cliff!!! Every time he called her Bunny, OMG, I was dying, I love it. BUNNY!!!!!

Tanner hurt me but he totally made up for it with all his groveling and being my perfect MMC in a second chance where he messed up, his pining and heartbreak and how he loved Grace so desperately! Perfection!!! Also, Tanner’s present for Grace had me screaming and crying and kicking my feet!!! Who knew a paragraph about a lighthouse could make me bawl! And the epilogue! 🥹🥹 It so beautiful to see all the couples together and happy!
The spice in this book! It was so hot, super intense at moments for a variety of reasons, emotional and heartfelt. Candace always nails the heat! She seriously writes some of best spice! 🥵
Candace also must a special talent for know what nicknames to use. One of my all time favorites is Baby Doll (book 1) to Bunny (unlocking this one for me!) in this one. From every teaser (I had start scrolling past the teasers and other review posts because I wanted a pure and unfiltered Tanner experience) where Tanner calls her Bunny has done things to me that I didn’t expect from this nickname. Then the first time he says it in the book (it’s more sweet at that point but still!) just about sent me over the cliff!!! Every time he called her Bunny, OMG, I was dying, I love it. BUNNY!!!!!

Phew. QB Keeper packs all the steam and the heat and the WOW moments galore. We've gotten crumbs of Tanner here and there, but to finally get the whole story was so much to process.
The story happens in an immediate 5 year flashback, before being catapulted into present day where Tanner is going back to Hope Harbor/Grace for the first time. There was a line early on about Tanner's pain when losing Grace, and Rose described his wound as still hemorrhaging. With the build up and the tension so high at this point, I could not get this line out of my head. I fell asleep thinking about it, then probably dreamed about it because I woke up still achy.
From there, the story kept digging at the pain Grace felt from Tanner, and Tanner's intense insecurity and self inflicted emotional wound. This, balanced with the insane amount of heat and spice was suffocating in the best way. I was consumed by the story and hated putting it down, but it was definitely a 'after the kids are asleep' read.
Tanner's broken soul gutted me and I loved him for it. I loved how he put himself on the line when the time came and was open and vulnerable with Grace, giving them the space they needed to mend their relationship. I loved how Grace was appropriately guarded and made Tanner work for his redemption. And I loved each one of their family members reactions, because that was hilarious.

PHEW! Y'all I have been ready for Daddy Tanner's book since I dove into this series (highly recommend it!), & blesssss I was NOT disappointed!
I absolutely loved how this is written! There aren't just references or quick snippets into the past, you get their summer history & how it played out & I can say it made for such a great read! Getting that in depth history & backstory was fantastic!! Also, SPICY AF! I was sweatin'!!!
Tanner & Grace are a love for the ages, & they will forever hold a special place in my heart! While yes they are spicy spicy, they also love hard & will break your heart before putting it back together! I felt every emotion Grace had, & Tanner, while I wanted to shake him, felt so much & only for Grace.

The final book of the Boston Blizzard series is out soon, and I'm so sad to see this series come to a close. BUT we did get a sneak peek at the next series. And oh Lord it's going to be a good one. I cannot wait to see how that first book goes.
But we're not here to talk about Wild Pitch, we're here because it's pub day for QB Keeper! This was such a sweet second chance romance. The first half of the book is all about the past. We get to see how Grace and Tanner's relationship started...and how it ended. 😭
The second half of the book is the present, and all of the things Tanner does to prove he's only ever cared for Grace are just so sweet, especially his little sign that he's done for years just hoping she'd see it. And I loved seeing him open up to his teammates.
The only thing I wish we would have had more of was the smutty scenes. I was expecting a lot from Tanner. Now, that doesn't mean I was disappointed with the smut we did get. Those scenes, especially the last one, was all I'd hoped for.
Overall, this was a solid end to the Boston Blizzard series. But I have to circle back to Wild Pitch, I can't wait to see what CL Rose does with that couple. It's going to be so freaking good.

Yep. I did it. Infinity stars. My Tanner instinct all those months ago was correct. He’s the one. He’s the absolute one. I begged for an early ARC and boy did I not regret the traffic jam it caused in my reading schedule at the time.
I adore Second Chance romances and that coupled with the beautifully written dual timeline aspect has ensured this one's spot on my infinity star list. I was not well when the shit hit the fan when it was time for us to move from the 'Then' to the 'Now'; Candice weaved so much emotion into that scene she had me gasping for air whilst the tears pooled on my chin. Like... is she a wizard?
Daddy Tanner, as we know him throughout the series, just makes so much sense now. The glimpse we get of his story during his conversation with Dalton in Run Game is just a scratch on the surface. His broken soul completely tore at me, and when he continuously put himself on the line to earn Grace's forgiveness, I was right there with him feeling everything. Grace would, rightfully so, knock him off his perch a little and I loved that Candice wrote her like that. Grace remained stoic and guarded her heart; she made him work for his redemption and wow, didn't she just. Women are strong and powerful creatures. Perfection.
I am so proud of Candice for doing the 'damn thing' and not just writing, but signing off her debut series in style. I have intentionally left a lot of detail out of this review because I need you to just go and read the Blizzard gang; when I tell you this series and it's characters are something special, you best believe me.

Tanner was THE book boyfriend. The relationship he and Grace had when they were younger was so sweet, and although 5 years has passed, he is still so down bad for her and it’s just the hottest thing ever how determined he is to get his girl back.
Grace is the feisty FMC of my dreams. A lot of times I don’t connect with virgin heroines because they’re more demure but Grace was absolutely not that girl! She is headstrong and won’t put up with any shit and I LOVED her growth and journey throughout the story, especially the girl gang she found.
Once again Candice is the queen of MEMORABLE & unique spice (there’s a lot of it but it never felt like too much), and the kink exploration was *chefs kiss*. The groveling scene?? …Will live in my head for the rest of my life - not even being dramatic.
I don’t want to say much more because I don’t want to spoil anything but YOU NEED THIS BOOK!

Daddy Tanner did not disappoint, even when he royally effed up, I still adored him. This is how a man freaking grovels 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 5 years celibate for her. Lawd. The way he knows her and anticipates her needs was the sweetest thing.
Grace is one BADASS BITCH. I loved her character and seeing her come into her power. She starts off as a sweet 18 year old falling in love and experimenting with her brother’s bff, but she takes back her power and shows how strong she is both when she takes down her stupid cheating fiancé and when she finally forgives Tanner for leaving her. (And the first scene in tanners playroom - YOU FREAKING GO GIRL)
Although this book was SPICY STRAIGHT FROM THE FACTORY 🥵🥵🥵 (BDSM lessons - oof 😮💨), the depth of their story and raw emotions were also so well thought out and you could feel every one. Perfect mix 🫶🏻

I usually don’t write reviews. Especially not in English, since it’s my second language and I sometimes just don’t feel confident enough, that what I’m writing is legible.
But this book deserves to be reviewed, even though I might sound weird with my grammar, spelling and all.
I love it.
I love it so much, I basically inhaled it within three days although I was moving houses at the same time and basically didn’t have any free minute.
And when I had it finished, I couldn’t think about anything else but reading this book again. So that’s what I did.
I want someone like Tanner in my life. Well, maybe not in every detail, but someone with his energy. Reading his POV left me heartbroken. And I was just so happy for him when he finally got Grace back.
Unfortunately, fictional men set the bar unrealistically high for the real life ones.
Also I have to mention that this was the first book of this series that I read, since I’m not so much into sports romance (most of the time I just know way to little about the sports part, so this is kinda boring… if there’s something like Karate romance out there, please let me know) but the second chance and intense groveling tropes sounded good - and did not disappoint.
So I’m gonna read the rest of the series now, hoping that reading about Tanner without Grace doesn’t hurt too much…

Oh my god. I don’t thjnk I could have loved this book anymore. Like DADDY IS HOME, y’all. Fuck it, I’m not even American.
This book was EVERYTHING! Second chance, brothers best friend, secret relationship, BDSM exploration. Shit it was good. I adored the way Candice wrote the time line; it didn’t feel jumpy and it gave such an in-depth voice to the characters, rather then a then vs now every chapter? Does that even make sense? But anyway… I will say the switch to the “then” hurt my little sooky heart and I did cry. Cos hell. Just read it and then get back to me.
I don’t even want to write anymore because I feel like everyone should experience this book for what it is. Some amazing micro tropes that made me gasp and just added to the reading experience. I loved the found family vibes once G & T were back together, too.
AND THAT PROLOGUE for the next book… GIMME!

I just became a C.L. Rose super fan and read all these books in 2 days. I know I dont have the same perspective on Tanner when I read the last book 1st, and the 1st book next. BUT- here's my review for what it's worth.
There is a flash back for the first part of the book to explain his history with Tanner & Grace. Which I felt like was set UP PERFECTLY.
Tanner Lake is Grace's brothers best friend, and has known the family all his life.. he also, has just made himself the man thats going to help his best friends sister unlock a secret side to her she never even knew she had... I feel like he set himself up for failure thinking he could keep it strictly no feelings because you can't trust someone as much as they trust each other without loving them, and even though we all know Tanner loved her and wanted to keep her safe, it still hurt the way it played out. After the summer they spent together- he is signing with the NFL, and regrets leaving her as soon as he pulls out of the driveway.
Grace is an inexperienced FMC, about to head off to college, and who better than her older brothers best friend to teach her the ropes when it comes to learning how to, YOU KNOW. haha... they have only the summer, and when that turns into something and she gets her heartbroken, she doesn't think she will ever recover.
FLASH FORWARD 5 YEARS.... let's just say, there are a lot of hurt feelings and a lot of trials for these two to get through but, the freaking journey for them is so worth it! I loved reading this book so much It took me less than 24 hours to finish it and move on to start the first in the series.
Tanner truly loves Grace, and watching them become who they were always supposed to be together was just THE FREAKING BEST!! 10/10/10 im ADDICTED.

FLASH FORWARD 5 YEARS.... let's just say, there are a lot of hurt feelings and a lot of trials for these two to get through but, the freaking journey for them is so worth it! I loved reading this book so much It took me less than 24 hours to finish it and move on to start the first in the series.
Tanner truly loves Grace, and watching them become who they were always supposed to be together was just THE FREAKING BEST!! 10/10/10 im ADDICTED.

CL Rose saved the best for last with Tanner and Grace’s story. I have had Tanner on my radar since the first book. Add the fact that I’m a SUCKER for a second chance romance with a side of new kinks uncovered… I’m a goner.
This story has a dual timeline that was perfectly written. The first part of Tanner’s story began five years ago and we see the build up and down fall of his and Grace’s relationship. The story transitioned to the present day where he’s lived in regret since the day he left. We see in one moment that Tanner observes her for the first time and fire ignites inside of him ,he is determined to win her back.
Let’s talk about the emotional roller coaster CL Rose put me on. Grace and Tanner’s story started sweet, funny, and sexy. It turned to frustrating, heartbreaking, emotional, and then moved on to hot AF kinky spice. When the CRAWL TO ME moment happened, I was a dripping mess. Candice scored a touchdown with QB Keeper. I’m excited for what she has coming for us next.

This story was absolutely delicious! Daddy Tanner for the win!
I picked up this book as my “Q” for my A-Z Challenge and wow, was I ever blown away. I really enjoyed the storytelling. Tanner and Grace were the perfect pairing for a brother’s best friend, second chance sports romance.
The spice was ON POINT! From the exploration at the beginning to where they end was absolute fire! 🥵
I really enjoyed that the book started at the very beginning of their relationship and jumped 5 years in the second half. The dual POV as we got to witness both characters’ growth and feelings was beautiful to read.
10/10 recommend this book!
Can’t wait to read Riggs and Monroe’s story!

4 star Review QB Keeper (Boston Blizzard #3) by C L Rose
C.L. Rose is a relatively new author to me, and I found QB Keeper to be an entertaining story that ticked numerous boxes for me. I was hooked on the story that she wove from the first chapter.
This is Tanner and Grace’s story, and it was well written with characters whose story you quickly become invested in.
I love second chance at love stories and this was an entertaining read as they reconnected.

I’m not usually a second chance romance lover but I ate this book up in one go I couldn’t put it down. This was my first from the author and I now need to read more! I just adore Tanner.
