⭐️ 5/5. I just love Kari Nolan and her Eden’s Ridge universe, so when I saw there was a new Men of the Misfit Inn novella I was so excited!! 💞 In fact, I may have been “I read the whole thing in one day” excited 😜 I 10/10 recommend this series, especially listening to the audiobooks that are narrated by Amy McFadden. This series just makes me feel like everything in life will have a happy ending 🥰

I didn't like it was third person instead of first person dual but it was so good. Mick and Juliette were so cute! I loved that they are best friends and have a good foundation built. The chemistry was great and it was well written.

I generally don’t like friends-to-lovers stories but this one didn’t spend a ridiculous amount of time with the characters whining about how the other will never feel the same way or they don’t want to risk losing their friendship, and that’s a win in my opinion!

5 Star Review A Love Like You (Men Of The Misfit Inn #6) by Kait Nolan

I love Kait Nolan’s style of writing, she always draws me in and has me invested from the start. Her characters are always engaging and easy to relate too.

This was a great addition to the Men Of The Misfit Inn series. It was an entertaining read that drew me in and had me captive from the first chapter. This is Mitch Routlege and Juliette Chen’s love story which ticked all the boxes for me.

They have been friends for a long time and lines have never been crossed, until they are snowed in together.

I fell hard and fast for Mitch, he is my idea of a book boyfriend; a totally swoon worthy man.

I was really cheering for them to get the happily ever after that they deserved. Can he convince Juliette to take a chance on a relationship?

A Love Like You by Kait Nolan is a sweet story a friends to lovers, forced proximity, holiday road trip small town romance: following Mick Routlege, a charming character who finds himself stuck in the friend zone with Juliette Chen, a busy nurse weighed down by family and work. Juliette is so busy that she doesn’t believe she can afford to make time for herself until Mick, her friend and neighbor, winds up with a couple of tickets to a concert of a group they both love. He persuades Juliette to accompany him, going out of his way to make sure her family and her delightful dog, Derp, are taken care of for the overnight trip. As thorough and careful as they planned for this trip, even they couldn’t anticipate what was going to happen in those North Carolina mountains. When the weather turns bad, being snowed in may finally give them the nudge they need to overcome their emotional barriers. When they get back home Juliette’s world has fallen apart and not only does Mick remind her how important she is, he takes care of her. This was an engaging story not only about family and responsibilities, but also about taking a chance at love.

A devious matchmaker, a snowstorm and a pretty inn in the mountains may just give Mick and Juliette the chance at more. This story explores themes of self-discovery, communication, and the idea that sometimes, the best love is right under your nose. A Love Like You is a heartwarming reminder that love can be found in unexpected places. I highly recommend A Love Like You to other readers.

The world needs more men like Mick Routledge! He's everyone's friend, a great neighbour, a helping hand and when you let him in - he'll heat you up in the best way!

Juliette has the world, heck the universe on her shoulders. Between nursing, working in her family restaurant, looking after her chronically ill mum and teenage sister - there is not a lot leftover that is just Juliette. She friend zoned Mick because she couldn't face losing him as a friend when her life would suck up any spare time. But plans are afoot!

A devious matchmaker, a snowstorm and the pretty inn in the mountains may just give Mick and Juliette the chance at more!

This is a perfect wee gem of a story! The characters have chemistry, the families and townsfolk are interfering in the best, and their is the cutest potato of a doggie! The story is heartfelt, endearing and all too familiar tale of taking on more than your share of responsibility and losing yourself in the process. Mick's large found family of foster siblings and their families are #familygoals! I loved the way that Mick didn't cause drama or demand Juliette's attention - he just set about making her life easier.

I loved the authors Kilted Hearts series so getting to read this adjacent series was a great way to meet some new "friends".

This is a sweet story. Mick Routledge was one of Joan Reynold’s kids. He’s grown up to be a good, hardworking auto mechanic. Juliette Chen is an equally hardworking nurse. Add in that after she finishes her work day, she goes and helps her mother at their family owned Chinese restaurant. In addition to packing up take-out, serving meals, and helping with clean-up, Juliette is the family’s chief problem solver. She’s so busy that she can’t take on anything for her own pleasure, until Mick, her friend and neighbor, winds up with a couple of tickets to a concert in North Carolina. He persuades Juliette to accompany him, going out of his way to make sure her family and her delightful dog, Derp, are taken care of for the overnight trip. But even people as thorough and careful as Mick and Juliette couldn’t foresee what was going to happen in those North Carolina mountains.

This book was a joy to read. Mick and Juliette are both charismatic characters, and there’s definite chemistry between them. This is a shortish book, but it’s definitely worth the time investment to read.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

Mick Routlege has had a thing for his neighbor for quite some time, but she’s placed him in the friend zone, which he would desperately like to change. Between a full time job with a traveling clinic and helping her family run their restaurant, Juliette Chen doesn’t have time for anything, especially romance, even if she did wish she had more of herself to give to her sexy neighbor.

When a surprise overnight trip falls in their lap, Juliette can’t say no to Mick. And, when the weather turns bad, being snowed in may finally give them the nudge they need. But, what happens when they get back to reality once the snow has melted?

This holiday novella was just about as sweet as you can get! Mick was such a sweetheart of a guy! He knows that Juliette has major responsibilities and some baggage and he is completely okay with taking it slow and trying to ease her burdens. And, Juliette is so loyal and willing to take the world on her shoulders to make sure everyone around her is taken care of. I loved that she finally gave in, if only for a weekend, and let someone else take care of her!

Sweet as can be, with just enough drama to keep their story interesting and a bit of spice made A Love Like You a fantastic and heartwarming holiday story to get me in the mood for Christmas! 5 stars!

A sweet friends to lovers novella for this Christmas holiday from Kait Nolan.

Believe me that this foster family of Joan Reynolds is so big and with I reading many books of Nolan's another series in between, I tend to forget who is who in this series which makes me feel guilty AF (wince.)

But even if I forget who they are, a book or books of crews of the Misfit Inn always warm my heart every time I read them. One thing for sure, I really love and truely miss Ari's matchmaking!

In this book, Mick and Juliette are friends who seem to secretly have been in love with each other but with a lot going on with their life, they're afraid to express their feeling. But not this time, when Mick's family offers him a concert ticket, secretly inspires him to ask Juliette to go on a road trip with him, and with the Christmas magic helps, they are trapped together.

Like I said before, the story is sweet and heartwarming. Mick is a good man and Juliette is so lucky to have him by her side.

So if you love a warm big family who loves to interfere with each other's love life, I think you are going to love this book as I do.

In this stand alone , the author delivers another touching story in the series.
Mick Routlege, one of Joan’s foster kids and now a mechanic in town, has been secretly in love with his best friend and neighbor Juliette Chen . But Juliette, a nurse who also takes care of her ill mother and helps in the family restaurant, barely has time for herself. Thus , he’s kept his feelings to himself so as to not to overwhelm her.
When the opportunity of going together to a concert of a group they both love, they take a road trip to the venue with an overnight stay. A trip that seemed to give them a chance for a relationship. But what happens when they get back home and Juliette’s world comes tumbling down?
This was an engaging story not only about family and responsibilities, but also about taking a chance at love. Another wonderful addition to the series where those that have read previous books will get a chance to “visit” with some of those characters.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Juliette is like too many of the women of my acquaintance – myself included. Absolutely certain that the only person capable of juggling all the balls in her life is herself. That no one else can be trusted to catch anything she might drop. Mick’s had his eye on his overworked, overtired, overstressed neighbor since she first moved in. I think “acts of service” must be his love language, because he is determined to show her in any way he can that she’s not in this life alone. Sigh! I loved that so very, very much. In fact, I’m not sure if the author is capable of giving me a story I don’t adore. The chemistry lights sparks between these two that arc off the page. And the wonderfully interfering, nosy family just made everything so much more fun to witness. My only complaint is that this book went by too fast. I want pages and pages more time with these characters. So, I’ll wait (im)patiently until we get to come back to Eden’s Ridge again to see who Ari sets up next.

Welcome back to the Misfit Inn family…

Mick was one of the many foster kids who was raised at the Misfit Inn, when it was the home of Joan Reynolds. He loves his little town and being a mechanic, he also secretly loves his best friend. Juliette is overworked and used to being the one who helps her mom with everything she needs, especially since she has a little sister still in high school. Being a nurse and helping run a restaurant means she has little time for herself, but she has an adorable dog and a best friend she hangs out with anytime she has time. When Mick finally arranged for a fun night away with Juliette, seeing a band they love, he never expects Mother Nature to step in and extend that night, offering an opportunity for them to explore more than friendship. A sweet and romantic novella that also lets readers catch up with some of their favorites from the Misfit Inn and related series.

A wonderful holiday romance.

I love Mick Routlege, he’s the perfect hero. He’s warm, kind, and supportive and head over heels for his next-door neighbor Juliette Chen, a nurse, who has a lot on her plate with family and her job. For instance, this weekend, he’s going to take her away for an overnight - to see a band they both like - as friends. She’s placed him firmly in the friend zone, so what could happen at a mountain lodge in winter? Cue snow……….

I love Kait Nolan and the wonderful worlds she creates. Her characters are real and people I would call friends. This story is heartfelt and warm, as we follow Mick and Juliette through the change in their relationship. I love how solid and steadfast Mick is. It is exactly what Juliette needs in her life. I loved revisiting old friends at the Misfit Inn and seeing Mick have his HEA. I received an arc of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions, and this is my honest review.

Kait Nolan's "A Love Like You" is a delightful romance that captivates from the start. The story revolves around Mick Routlege, a charming character who finds himself stuck in the friend zone with Juliette Chen, a busy nurse weighed down by family and work.

Nolan's writing is engaging and emotionally resonant, drawing you into the evolving relationship between Mick and Juliette. The slow-burn romance is both heartwarming and realistic, with a snowy inn setting during a blizzard that adds a layer of confinement to the emotional barriers the characters must overcome.

The novel beautifully explores themes of self-discovery, communication, and the idea that sometimes, the best love is right under your nose. "A Love Like You" is a heartwarming reminder that love can be found in unexpected places, and it's a must-read for those who enjoy well-crafted, feel-good love stories.

As an ARC reader, this is my honest opinion. I always look forward to reading one of Ms. Nolan's stories for they never disappoint, the quality of writing is always great, and the storylines and characters are always well rounded!

"A Love Like You" is another 5 ⭐✨ read! Revisiting with those from the Misfit Inn was like going home to friends and family. The kind of visit you hate to have end. Add in a visit that includes being snowed in with your best friend you secretly wish were more, a toasty fire you both can snuggle together with and a young lady who loves to matchmake, making the opportunity to happen, well......it becomes a wonderful story that ends on a happy note.

I know that anyone who enjoyed the Misfit Inn series will LOVE this heartwarming addition. If you haven't read the others, you definitely will want to! 🤓

I was captivated from the start of this short but sweet holiday novella.

Mick adores his neighbor Juliette but she is fiercely independent and too busy with what seems like the weight of the world on her shoulders to be anything more than friends.

This all has the chance to change when they leave town for a concert and get unexpectedly snowed in. This opportunity could give them quality time together to explore their feelings without any distractions. Furthermore, what will happen once they get back to their usual lives and responsibilities...

I loved how Mick was so supportive of Juliette and her situation, he was patient and understanding of her family commitments. Derp the dog and matchmaking friends and family all make this a truly magical read that I really enjoyed.

"Love Like You" by Kait Nolan is a heartwarming Christmas novella that beautifully weaves together themes of family, friendship, and budding romance. Juliette, a devoted and hardworking nurse, not only takes care of her family's restaurant but also selflessly lends a hand in resolving various community issues. The story takes an exciting turn when Mick, the charming and swoon-worthy next door neighbour and local mechanic, invites Juliette to a concert, setting the stage for an enchanting overnight road trip.

This is a great feel-good story that will leave readers with a smile on their faces, making it a perfect read for the holiday season or any time you're in the mood for a heartwarming romance. Kait Nolan has crafted a charming narrative that celebrates love, family, and the magic of the Christmas spirit.

A Love Like You may be shorter in length than some of Kait Nolan's books, but she fills it to the brim with a great storyline, wonderful characters and so much love.
Mick is a complete cimmamon role hero, he's just too sweet and charming for words. As laid back as he is, he would of course fall for the overly-stressed, hardworking and hard on herself, Juliette. Although they are both caretakers of those around them, Juliette takes it a step to far by not giving herlself time to beathe, live or love. But it's so easy to like her.
While away in a storm with only one bed is a much used trope for romance, espcially those set suring rain/snow/any storm or natural disaster, it's a classic for good reason. Who could resist acting on their feelings while trapped together...readers included. Kait Nolan made me fall for Mick and Juliette as they opened up to each other and it was wonderful.

Mick & Juliette’s story isn’t exactly what you’d expect from Kait Nolan, at least it wasn’t at all what I expected and not at all because it was a multi-cultural romance which I totally appreciated.
It’s a low-key, everyday type of romance. Mick and Juliette are friends and neighbors who both happen to be crushing—HARD—on each other. But he’s a good guy and knows she has her reasons for avoiding romance so he gives her space. She wants Mick down to her bones but honestly, the girl doesn’t have another minute in her day to spare for another human being.
That is, until is well meaning friends orchestrate an out of town music event that brings these two together. And when they come together? Well, the sparks more than fly, they explode!
A Love Like You is a fun, forced proximity, neighbors, friends to lovers romance that hits all the right spots. Another great read from Kait Nolan!

My Favorite Tropes in a Spectacular Story!!

Juliette works as a nurse, then helps with the family diner. Her mother has fibromyalgia and needs more and more assistance. Juliette doesn’t have time or inclination to date. Mick is one of many foster siblings, centered around the misfit Inn. They focus on family ties and helping others.

Though Mick has been firmly placed into the friend zone, he arranges to get Juliette back up for a day so they can go see their favorite band. An unexpected snow storm has different plans. A power outage and a closed pass mean they spend much more time together than planned.

Quality time, chosen family, relationships and an epic snowball fight bring changes to the relationship. Will returning to reality break the newly formed bonds.

Mick has been hiding his feelings for his best friend Juliette but that is about to change when he convinces her to go out of town with him to attend the concert. A snowstorm extends the trip and will have them facing their feelings for each other, but will it continue when they return or will the responsibilities of their life take over once again?

Juliette is trying to balance her career, her family and the restaurant they own. She doesn’t believe she has the time or energy for anything or anyone else, but Mick is about to show her that accepting help is a sign of strength and not weakness.

You can’t help but feel for Juliette as she tries to be everything for everyone she cares about while Mick shows her that as long as they are together they can overcome anything life throws at them.

Love and trust

I loved this best friends to lovers, forced proximity, only one bed romance. It will give you all the swoony swoons while also pulling at your heartstrings with all the emotions. Mick is a mechanic who lives and works in small town Eden’s Ridge. Juliette is a nurse who works at a mobile medical clinic and her family’s restaurant. Juliette and Mick are neighbors and best friends. There is chemistry and attraction between them but Juliet’s life does not lend itself to a relationship. So their relationship is firmly in the friend’s only box. Friends, fate and the weather give them a nudge toward their HEA when they are gifted an overnight friend’s’ trip to see their favorite band. Despite being short, the story was well written and included three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. I have loved this series.

Friends to More?, Forced Proximity During a Snowed in Road Trip- So Much Fun!

This was a fun short "holidayish" novella that was a perfect gearing up for this time of year. Mick and Juliette have been "attracted" good friends who don't want to ruin their friendship but are "set-up" on a concert road trip with a hotel room, and happen to get snowed in for longer. Mick figures it is his chance to get Juliette to finally relax, have some fun, and maybe he can take his shot? There was a lot of fun, hot chemistry, some flirty banter, and we revisit characters from previous Kait Nolan books. This is definitely easily read as a standalone, and made for an enjoyable afternoon - Enjoy!

I was sent an ARC by the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

What a great read - love stories around Christmas - families who help each other...

Mick and Juliette are neighbors, with a secret attraction to each other, that they've never acted on.

The opportunity comes for both of them, when friends/family have some tickets to an out of town event, Mick invites Juliette to accompany him; she is leery to go - but takes a chance, and goes. They have a great time, but mother nature has plans for them, she dumps snow on the small town they have travelled to, and they are snowed in. They take a chance, and go for it - their true feelings surfacing. They have an amazing time - only to come back home, and things have fallen apart.

Facing the challenges of helping her family - thankfully she has Mick, who saves the day.

Juliette has been keeping her family going for so long and has forgotten about herself. After a dad that left when things got hard and a future to be husband decides her family is to much she has only focused on family. Mick has been helping her out trying to take some of her burdens away. They both care about each other more that they will admit because they don't want to ruin their friendship. Insert Ari and members of both families and they are off to a night away for a concert. Mother Nature also intervenes with some snow causing the road in and out to be shutdown. They finally admit their feelings and decide to try for more. The question is do they make it when they get back to their daily lives....

This is a stand alone novella in the Men of Misfit Inn series, and yet it still delivers a full impact story - it doesn’t feel rushed and is full of all the Misfit Inn characters we love.

The story focuses on Mick, who is secretly in love with his best friend and neighbor Juliette, despite having been friend-zoned. Juliette is a nurse with a lot of family responsibilities and doesn’t feel she has the time or anything more to offer as overwhelmed. Mick however doesn’t want to be another obligation, he wants to lighten her load.

This is a heartwarming story about friendship, love, family and responsibility… and also about taking a risk for more… taking a chance on love.

A Love Like You, written by Kait Nolan, is the sixth book in the Men of the Misfit Inn series. Like the previous books, the author delivers a delightful small-town romance that is sure to entertain you.

Mick Routlege and Juliette Chen are neighbours who've known each other for quite some time, but Juliette has always considered Mick a friend. However, when a little bit of matchmaking comes into play, will they realize that their friendship could mean so much more?

I thoroughly enjoyed Mick's character and his caring nature. He was a true "cinnamon roll kind of guy". Juliette is a hardworking individual who has been pushing herself to her limits for years to keep her family afloat. She works full-time during the day and helps out in the family business at night.

This story has everything I have come to expect from a Kait Nolan book. When the Misfit Inn was still the home of Joan Reynolds, many foster children found love and a sense of belonging. This has carried over to the home becoming a wonderful B&B called the Misfit Inn. Mick is one of the lucky ones to have grown up in the company of so many other "misfits" and to have been able to stay connected to them throughout the years. As he navigates his interest friendship and his romantic interest in his neighbor, Juliette, this book takes some typical turns: snowed inn, one room, and seeing each other in a new light.
This was not my favorite Kait Nolan book as it was very predictable; however, it was well written, it flowed like a typical romance story, and it is always fun to visit with characters from her other books.
