About Renee: USA Today Bestselling author Renee George writes paranormal mysteries and romances because she loves all things whodunit, Otherworldly, and weird. Also, she wishes her pittie, the adorable Kona Princess Warrior, and her beagle, Josie the Incontinent Princess, could talk. Or at least be more like Scooby-Doo and help her unmask villains at the haunted house up the street.
When she’s not writing about mystery-solving werecougars or the adventures of a hapless psychic living among shapeshifters, she is preyed upon by stray kittens who end up living in her house because she can't say no to those sweet, furry faces. (Someone stop telling them where she lives!)
She resides in Mid-Missouri with her family and spends her non-writing time doing really cool stuff...like watching TV and cleaning up dog poop.
Author Note: For readers who have enjoyed reading my books and taken the time to share their love in reviews, thank you so much! I can't tell you how much it means to me to know my work is valued.
Police Chief Hazel Kinsey keeps things in Paradise Falls running smoothly for the shifters and witches who live there. But when a rogue pack of werewolves crashes into town and wants to take over, things get messy. The wolves call for a fight to the death, the Rite of Arphilitian, and Hazel’s mayor husband Ford steps up to fight for his town. Hazel is sure that there is more behind this than just the wolves wanting a piece of the action. Has someone in town betrayed them? And what are they really after?
Police Chief Hazel Kinsey, a witch, and her bear shifter husband, Ford, the mayor are keeping the peace in their town of Paradise Falls. That is until a pack of wolves comes to town and create havoc, calling for the right to settle in the town. When the down votes them down, they come up with declaring the sacred Rite of Arphlitian which is an ancient ritual to fight to the death. The town must pick their fighter when Ford volunteers to fight for his town. Wow! Not what Hazel wanted to happen! Is there something more going on, using the rogue wolf pack for their own purposes? This is especially since the head wolf is found dead and Hazel is a suspect. This book has you turning pages until the surprise ending. And we can't forget Tizzy, Hazel's familiar, a red flying squirrel with all her own problems. This book is a great addition to the series, peppered with laugh out loud moments as well as the seriousness of saving the town of Paradise. I highly recommend the entire series and this 5th book is a great addition. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
FurOut by Renee George pub 8/29/24 5 stars Hazel, Ford, and the whole town
The town depends on Hazel, now the police chief, and Ford the new Mayor when a pack of werewolves comes. Since their entrance doesn't fit in with the town's private, friendly citizens it is voted not to let them settle. The wolves demanded following an ancient law of a fight to the death to determine if the vote would be followed.
Hazel panicked when Ford volunteered to represent the town. Magic good and bad adds more danger. Someone is making it even worse. Is a citizen at fault?
Another good mystery with characters old fans have come to love and new readers will love as well. In addition to the mystery, some of the good guys are blamed for crimes. Tizzy, Hazel's familiar is helpful even with her own troubles. The little red flying squirrel will steal your heart and make you laugh out loud.
This is a good mystery filled with surprises and great characters. I do have one complaint for the author--I need more Hazel/Ford/Tizzy books!
Once again, not only Chief Hazel Kinsey and his mate Ford are facing a dangerous situation, but also the entire town of Paradise Fall is on the brink of the end. I was very interested in the intriguing and sinister situation surrounding the alleged culprits. A lot of history here with secrets and mysteries that were revealed. Something that seemed far beyond Hazel's control. Naturally, I was curious about the drama that seemed to surround Tizzy. This squirrel always gives a lot to talk about with his funny antics and now her not-so-funny situation. Lots of action and suspense, with some intense situations, many funny comments, strong emotions and an unexpected and scary character. I loved how the plot flowed, keeping my attention and enjoying the reading.
Hazel is enjoying the quiet that Paradise Falls is currently experiencing. Yep, it's really quiet. Really, really quiet.. Maybe too quiet? Not that she's wishing for any trouble! I mean, they deserve the quiet...right? She's definitely not glad a group of werewolves have arrived, stirring up trouble, calling for special rites... Woo hoo! I mean, sigh! They say be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it!
I love this series so hard! Sheriff Hazel (witch) and Mayor Ford (best shifter) are the best! As are the other witches, shifters, etc who live in town. The mysteries are always interesting, and Hazel's familiar, a squirrel named Tizzy, is a blast.
Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2024 And we’re back in Paradise Falls, Hazel is now Chief of Police and her mate, Ford is the Mayor. Things are good, nice and quiet… but maybe a little too quiet? Just when Hazel thought it was a little boring, a pack of werewolves rolls into town and news has is that they are trouble with a capital T! In the effort to keep the people of Paradise Falls safe, Hazel and Ford questioned if they will be able to keep everyone safe from the werewolves. This is a fast-paced book and Renee keeps you guessing up to the very end! Can't wait for more!
Hazel the witchy Chief of Police and her bear shifter and Mayor husband Ford face some twisted witchy and furry challenges once again.
Inter-species relationships between various supernaturals keep the town running, and negative sentiments might just tear it apart - in more ways than one.
Quirky tests of faith, family and dark magics versus creative thinking and difficulties with shifter law- a chaotic time once again. And a great read!
Be careful what you wish for! Boredom can take a toll on you but be careful when the situation changes. Strangers in town turn the tide and boredom is the least of Hazels worries. On the side Tizzy is having issues on the home front and the ending will put a huge smile on your face! Hazel and Ford put all their energy into solving this mess and a scary mess it is! Love it and looking forward to more Hazel and Tizzy!
Trouble in Paradise ensues when some werewolves show up uninvited. Witch Hazel has what turns out to be a mess on her hands in what should have been a peaceful, fun barbeque. No spoilers, just know that this is a super fun, laugh-out-loud, paranormal mystery that everyone will just love. Recommend this without reservation AND, if you know ANYONE that thinks they don't like paranormal, have them read this book AND series, they will be turned! Another fabulous read.
Welcome back to Paradise Falls. Witches and shifters of all types and sizes living together in peace. Chief of police witch Hazel has little to worry about until a pack of werewolves move into town and start causing problems creating a situation that will test the town and Hazel and Fords marriage. Nail-biting mystery.
A vegan barbeque turns into a werewolf gathering. But all os not tranquil as they are after to disrupt things as they plan to takeover. It will be up tp our witch to keep things calm as war between the werewolves and witches come to a showdown and her husband is the one to do battle.. It’s another quiet day in the life of our witch. A fun humorous read.
Hazel is back in action, protecting the citizens of Paradise Falls along with her mate, Ford, and her familiar. Evil werewolves, Beastwardens, ancient cults, all provide challenges for our heroine. In true Hazel fashion, she comes through in the end. Be prepared to stay on the edge of your seat with this book.
Life is never dull in Paradise Falls..an enthralling read.
Unexpected visitors... a werewolf pack claiming ownership of a property in Paradise Falls. Add in a duel with Ford and the head werewolf shifter, Hazel being accused of murder, hidden secrets, suspense, unexpected revelations and lots of action. Received a free copy and am voluntarily posting an honest review.
Werewolves come to Paradise and they are trouble and thensome. Murders and a setup to get rid of the sheriff , her mate, their parents and take over the town.
Hazel is about to do something that will put her and Ford on a path that might hurt their future as well as the town. A strong storyline, as well as wonderful entertaining characters. I reviewed a copy without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.
Fun cozy mystery. Just as Hazel thinks she is going to get some peace things get even more complicated. Even worse, this time she is being blamed for the murder she has to solve. I love Tizzy.
