I strongly believe this is a case of “it’s not the book, it’s me” because I can see how and why people enjoy this.

The reason I say it’s me and not the book is because I know this is something many m/m smut lovers would like. While I enjoy reading smut, I need to be in the mood to read more about sex than romance to enjoy it. Since that clearly wasn’t what I was interested in, this didn’t work out for me. The relationship between Noah and Cooper felt entirely and completely sexual. I felt zero chemistry between them, and it was 40% in when I knew I wouldn’t be enjoying the rest of this. I started skimming, reading in between pages, and hoping it would end soon. I understand how the two (especially Cooper, given he was questioning and not out of the closet at all) didn’t feel like it was right to go out or they were afraid, but I still hoped for more sweet moments between the two. It was also 40% in when I wondered when they would actually be together, as in have sweet moments together, like go out and hold hands, cuddle, watch movies, or simply just be together without sex taking up the spotlight.

There’s some interesting aspects that could have definitely worked out for me. For example, Noah returns home after seventeen years and ends up running into Cooper, his best friend of three years when they were young. Friends to lovers is a trope I very much love and wish I read more, so this was something I was anticipating. However, it felt like the two didn’t spend enough time together “as friends” to get to know each other. Sure, they were childhood friends for three years and knew each other really well, but seventeen years passed, and the two spend most of their moments together lusting between each other. Their pinning was also sexual and lustful only, and I don't recall any sweet moments being thought out. They started “catching up” after some sexual moments between each other. Adding on to that, I found Cooper’s identity crisis interesting and a good addition to the story. While his sexual orientation isn’t ever stated, he’d probably lean under bisexual, given he liked women and enjoyed being with them but found himself sexually interested in Noah as well. This isn’t something I have read a lot about, so I enjoyed this part of the novel. However, it didn’t make much difference for the story overall. It also didn’t help how Cooper was feeling jealous and acting possessive over Noah when the two weren’t together. Not only that, but that jealousy scene happened after Cooper explicitly told Noah he didn’t want anything to do with him anymore. I understand Coop was going through a confusion of his sexuality and sexual feelings towards Noah, but because of that I found it annoying how pissed off he got and how his inner thoughts towards Wes were, all because he and Noah were hanging out together.

Since the beginning, Cooper found himself questioning why he was feeling a certain way towards Noah. This felt realistic and is completely normal, but it is also why the romance aspect felt like it was lacking entirely. Weeks and months passed between the two, yet we don’t see what happens between them. Most of what we see is their sexual encounters, which were a mix of dry humping at the start, which later led to blow jobs and hand jobs, and anal sex towards the end. This is fine, but given I’ve been in the mood for sweet moments with sex in between, this was why I felt nothing for Noah and Coop. There weren’t enough interactions between them that could have made me understand their romantic feelings. Everything felt like it was only about lust, which is why I couldn’t understand where the romantic attraction towards each other came.

All in all, I want to continue reading some of Riley Hart’s books. I will say that I do want to read the second book in this trilogy, as it follows Wes and Braden’s story, which I’m actually looking forward to. This one clearly didn’t work out for me, which is upsetting because it’s one of this author's most popular works. I’m definitely on the minority side here.

Sweet,sexy M/M book.

Noah and Cooper were best friends together in their youth.Suddenly, with no explanation Noah and his family leave town.
17years later,Noah has decided to move back to his home town after he caught his boyfriend cheating on him.
Cooper and Noah literally bump into each other when Cooper accidentally knocks him over in his truck.
As Noah has nowhere lined up to live,Cooper offers him,his spare bedroom.
They soon fall back into an easy friendship.

Cooper is straight.
Noah is gay and while he doesn't flaunt his sexuality he's not ashamed of it.
One night Cooper catches Noah kissing another man and he struggles with the feelings this evokes in him...he's never felt an attraction to a man before.

They start a tentative relationship with both men trying to come to terms with the fact they are friends and have crossed a line.
Secrets are revealed as the real reason Noah and his family left town come out.

I know they're not for everyone but I love GFY stories. It's not about being Gay,Straight or Bi but about falling in love with someone who happens to be the same sex.

Really enjoyed this and Wes and Braden's story next...I will definitely be reading that!!

Okay, mixed feelings alert!

Collide is such a classic, old-school GFY story that it's a wonder I've never read it before. I'm hit or miss with Riley Hart, but lately I've been enjoying her work and this one was no different.

Honestly, you can tell that this is a rougher, older story. I listened in audio, but the book struggles with awkward phrasing, too many flashbacks (a pet-peeve of mine), and a dude-bro, VERY fantasy-level GFY (one of those where the guy insists he would *never, ever* be attracted to another guy except his love). As I've matured in my reading tastes, I've come to prefer my sexuality discovery stories to be more of a... discovery, a transition into a more fluid sexuality or at least more of a realistic one. I think more of a passing acknowledgement of bisexuality would have been warranted.

Still... I can't deny that I found this book to be hot as hell. It really ticked a lot of my boxes, and though the story had some iffy moments, if a jaded romance reader like myself can find something scorching hot, well, that's saying something.

Listening to the story in audio certainly helped because Luke Itzvic was a very good narrator, and that way I'm sure I missed many of the grammatical errors that plague early Riley Hart books. I'd listen to another book by this narrator any day of the week.

No, this book doesn't rank high on the believably scale, but I'm glad I finally took a chance on this older M/M book. It brought the heat and it left me feeling happy, which is all I could have asked for.

Okay, right off the bat both Coop and Noah were truly awesome. And Coop hitting Noah with his truck the moment he steps back into town after a 17 year absence? Priceless. And it only gets better from there.

Then there's the banter of best friends who've always gotten one another. During their constant slam-fests, it's like they're fighting to see who'll be crowned 'King of the Smartasses.' Highly entertaining, but not in a forced way that makes you roll your eyes because the author's trying way too hard.

This book felt far from the usual friend-to-lovers reads, even though that's precisely what it was. It didn't feel like there was a book formula being used, as everything was just fluid and progressed easily. I think that's mainly due to all of the smartassery keeping you distracted. It was loads of fun.

Here's one of my favorite (fun, totally evil) passages from the book...

** Grammar Nazi mode engaged:

My one, pet peeve was that throughout, the book it was like the author found a closeout sale, on commas. They would randomly, appear here and there for no apparent, reason. <-- See how goddamn ANNOYING that shit is??? It drove me out of my freaking tree until my eyes finally started ignoring the annoyingly prolific, inaccurate use of commas. Breathe, breathe. Happy place, happy place.

** Grammar Nazi mode disengaged. : )

This is the kind of book that I LOVE to run across. Highly recommended.

Noah Jameson became best friends with Cooper when he was ten years old. They were attatched at the hip. But one day when Cooper goes away for the weekend with his aunt, he returns to find Noah and his family gone without an explanation. He hoped for Noah to send letters to him, but he never did. Now, seventeen years later Noah has returned. Cooper almost runs him over and ends up offering him a place to stay. Things feel like they have never been apart.

After finding his boyfriend with another man, Noah wants to start over in Blackcreek. Noah never thought he would see Cooper again, or that he would find him so freaking sexy. I love second chance stories. Even though these two started out as best friends. Noah doesn't want to put his heart on the line again, especially not to someone who is clearly straight. But there is a connection between them they can't ignore. Noah wants him bad, but he isn't sure Cooper will be up for it. I liked that Noah never really pushed Cooper into anything. He was straightforward in what he wanted and expected. I loved that about him. I didn't want him to get hurt either. I also liked that he didn't wait like some poor puppy for Cooper to come to terms with his sexuality. He was patient, understanding, and caring. And of course, he was freaking hot!

Cooper Bradshaw was left deeply hurt after his best friend Noah left without a word. He thought he let him down. His parents were lost to him in a house fire. Now, Noah is gone too. He blames himself. Years later, he is an adult, he sleeps around with women but doesn't do relationships. One day, he is driving when he almost runs over a man, that man turned out to be Noah. He is so happy to see him again. That friendship that existed years ago is still strong. But he is completely shocked to learn that Noah is gay. And what is worse, that he is starting to notice Noah in a new way. He thinks he is attractive and a part of him really desires him. That scares the crap out him, since he is straight, after all. Real soon, he decides he doesn't care what others think. He wants Noah, so, he will have him.

Cooper didn't want to admit that his feelings for Noah were true. He thought it was just a result from missing Noah so much. I at times got frustrated with Cooper a bit because of that. But I can totally understand why he acted the way he did. People would influence him that made him try to reject it. But I loved that he got over it fast and didn't let others dictate how he should feel or who he should love. There were times I thought he was a coward, but he was also so swoony. I melted many times because of things he would say to Noah. It was really sweet to see them together. It was also panty melting HOT!! The chemistry between these two characters was awesome. Loved it!

This was such a cute story. I really enjoyed it. Just the right amount of drama in it, nothing too crazy. But I really loved the characters, even the supporting characters had a piece of my heart. Well... almost all of them. I didn't like Cooper's uncle or Noah's mother. But Wes and Braden were awesome friends to Cooper and Noah. I can't freaking wait to read their book. So excited because I really liked them in this book. There were many sweet moments between Cooper and Noah, as well as steamy. I think it was a perfect balance but seriously, the steam was really good. But there were some parts that had me a bit teary too. The ending was beautiful. I was really happy with it. I loved these characters and can't wait for the next book in this series.

How do I feel about this book? Simply put....

description

The blurb does a great job of explaining what you're in for, but it's still so much more! I can't believe that this is a debut novel!! Riley Hart, you have now become an automatic one-click author for me. There's really nothing more I could say because it would end up being just a bunch of non-sensical, redundant gushing! If you love friends to lovers M/M....READ THIS BOOK!

You ask why not 5 stars? Too much use of the word "prick," not a big fan of the word being used in an erotic way. I don't find it sexy...at all. Also about the ending

Other than that, perfect blend of everything you want in a book!!

Next up is Wes and Braden...

Noah and Cooper.....

So HOT!!!

Friends to Lovers...Second Chance Romance....GFY...

Coop and Noah first collide with each other when they are 10 years old on the football field and spend the next 3 years as best friends. They shared a connection beyond what normal friends share....they just didn't realize it at the time.

Seventeen years later and Coop and Noah collide again. Noah's back in town after a bad break-up when Coop hits him with his truck. From there their relationship and friendship grows to new levels.

Coop is straight....no ifs ands or buts about it. But seeing Noah again and finding out he's gay sparks new feelings in Coop. Suddenly he sees Noah differently...he wants to know Noah differently.

Coop and Noah start to explore these new feelings. Gah...Noah and Coop were so perfect together. Their chemistry was so sexy and sensual.

Collide wasn't heavy on angst and drama...it mostly centered around the GFY aspect. I loved both Noah and Coop. Loved that Coop was so honest about his feelings for Noah. That he wasn't willing to sacrifice those feelings out of fear of what others might think. They just wanted to be together.

This is a series....but the next book will be about different characters. Can't wait to read Wes and Braden's story!!!! Highly recommend!!!!

3.8 Sweet Stars - nicely told about a missing childhood friend who is your true grand love

The greatest pleasure of all these romances I read is perhaps the variation. One day it's tough hardcore horny men, the next fun insecure nerds. Or why not those books with bossy alpha males with a large furry animal that comes out sometimes. The variation is infinite. - All of them are about finding the big love of your life, getting knocked around in bed (often and everywhere) and to live happy with your loved one.

Yesterday and today I met two ordinary nice guys, one openly gay and the other completely straight. Old childhood friends who were separated and now at thirty meet again.
~ Nice, tender, moderately slow, some very hot moments, and overall, a very ordinary heartwarming good M/M romance. Recommended for a nice read.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Both Noah and Cooper has a lot of unpleasantness and anxiety-ridden events from their childhood in their luggage. Two disheveled souls with fear to open up and connect. They were for some years the very best friends. They could talk about everything, loved and trust each other. Unfortunately they parted quickly and unexpectedly when Noah's family abruptly left town.
 photo gif-nice-legs-shoes-gif-chaneese-girls-quotes-love-quotes-flowers-u-and-i-art-pozz-beer-art-photography-Crimsons-Album-Love-_zps18761324.jpg

Now, seventeen years later, they take up the thread pretty soon. The Collide story start when Noah is coming back to town to start a furniture carpentry. Already the first hour there he meet (collide), with a big bang, his old dear friend Cooper. Cooper is nowadays a joyful firefighter with an old house and a spare room for rent. Yes, a room to the homeless Noah. - So admirably good, and fortunately for the rest of this story. These two guys are room neighbors within hours.
“You are fucking sexy. I want to taste you, Coop. Are you going to let me kiss you?”

Fortunately, the guy who has become such a good-looking hottie is still single and free. But unfortunately very straight. But Noah, who likes men and always liked Cooper a lot, can not stop to peak...

It is sunny and hot, a firefighter is physically fit. There are bare torsos, lean legs in shorts, joined carpentry on a new patio and two sweaty men ...plus a bonus piercing on Noah.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Collide is told by both MC's and often switches in POV (sometimes in a confusing way in the middle of a paragraph..). In brief flashbacks are also important events from these boys childhood described. I really liked the tone and narration in this novel. Witty dialogues, fun wrangling and some dirty talk.

One thing that is extremely positive with this story is that these two men were actually talking to each other and explained mostly with words what they felt, brooded on and wanted. Thanks for the great male talking, Ms. Riley!
 photo image_zpsc674e9af.jpg

“I might not have known then what it meant, but I would rather been with you than anyone elso, too, Noah. Always.”

Something I also, but not all M/M readers, usually enjoy, are these Gay For You books. It feels like the ultimate romantic love, when you follow your heart and your desire regardless of gender, etc. Male or female doesn't matter, it is true love and it's your feelings that is the important thing. Oh, that's sooo sweet! ~ And it happens right here in our real, a little grayer, life, as well. I know, I have living proof.

...In addition, it's so d@mn cute when it's all for the first time.
“Shut up. I'm about to touch a naked dick that isn't mine for the first time. Let me do it without you yappin' in my ear.”

Noah and Cooper story is funny, tender and sweet. I sincerely wish them all best luck and a nice and happy (ordinary) life. I feelt with, and for them, and their story is very well told. Not too fast and unbelievable, but in reasonable pace while the time went. ... Still, I have to say; perhaps a little drawn, for me, in the second part. But then suddenly rattled it properly there, the last few pages, and their "nice road" to the happy ending was shaken slightly.

I enjoyed and I'm truly pleased with the whole. Looking forward to read Brandon and Wes' story in the next book, Stay.

I LIKE - nicely nice... a good one!

What a cute m/m, best friend story. So this story is a about Noah Jameson and Cooper Bradshaw. When Noah was 10 he moved to Blackcreek with his parents. He meet his neighbor and soon-to-be-bestfriend Cooper when they collided onto each other attempting to catch a ball. From then onwards, they became insatiable.

Fast forward three years later, Coop comes home one day and goes to Noah's house excited to tell him about the game but, Noah is not there anymore.

17 years later Noah returns, and on the same day he was hit by Cooper's truck. And that's how the story really begins.

Noah is gay, Cooper is not. But then they start wanting each other. Coop is confused as hell. He doesn't know what's happening to him, if anything at all. He's confused, lost, and horny. *smirk*
Noah is scared though, he doesn't want his friendship to end. His friend is the only thing that ever mattered, but he can't help what he's feeling.

“You decide now, Coop. You’re in this or you’re out. No more games. No more changing your mind. You touch me again, and you won’t have a choice. You’ll be mine.”

And then that's when hotness started coming. *fanningmyself*

It's ok, stare all you want, I won't judge.

Overall, really good. I enjoyed it.

Sometimes people come quietly into your life. Not Coop. Twice, he’d collided into Noah’s world. Years separated them—whole other lives, but they’d found their way back to each other. Found a way to leave everything except each other in the past.

I have no idea why I kept putting this one off because it was delightful! A great friends-to-lovers and gay-for-you tale with a great story and a lot of heat. I finally ended up reading it because I was really jazzed to read the second book in the series, Stay, and I started it and was immediately lost. I will admit to liking Stay better, but this one was great too!

I can absolutely recommend this sweet tale of two men falling in love after 17 years apart to any and all M/M romance readers and highly recommend it to fans of the FTL/GFY genre. You will be delighted!

Another 'everyone-liked-but-me' and 'i'm-probably-not-going-to-be-popular-with-my-opinion' story.

All hype, no substance.

One thing though I want to mention: the word “woman” is used as a derogatory term - why is that?

“Do you always stress so much? You didn’t used to fret like a woman.”
“I swear, you’re worse than a damn woman.”

Super fast sinopsis: Noah and Cooper were friends a long time ago. Noah comes back to town. Noah is gay. Cooper is not. They fall in love.

I didn't hate the MC. But I didn't love them either.

Meh. I'm bored. This is doing nothing for me.

DNF @47%

I find this story very flat, a bit tell-y, without dynamism, poorly paced...and just boring. I've read this tale too many times before and too often has it been written better than this. I need a real STORY, something more by which to be moved. This is like white rice, very ordinary.

Plus the grammatical and copy editing errors aren't doing this work any favours. Nor am I content contending with the amateur writing voice and the hyperbole. Every orgasm "exploding" and such, I'm over it.

I know I am literally the only one to dislike this book but I could, I should be spending time with writing that excites me. To Lendle this goes. Ta.

Collide by Riley Hart is probably one of my most anticipated reads this year. The cover whore in me added it to my TBR as soon as I saw the cover. So happy it didn't disappoint. This story included two of my favorite plot lines: friends to lovers and second chance romance. Noah and Coop were best friends until Noah is abruptly uprooted by his parents. Through the years the two have never forgotten their strong connection. They get reunited when Coop collides into Noah with his car.

Coop, is one the town's firefighters. He is heterosexual but has never settled down. Noah, is openly gay and will not go back in the closet after getting hurt in his last relationship. This was a great GFY story about two men living in small town America.

What I loved:
*The friendship between the two characters. Both as children and adults.
*Great secondary characters
*The sex scenes!

Two things that bothered me:
*The way the past flashbacks were written. Maybe if the flashbacks had been written in italics or some warning that we were going into a flashback? This is probably more of a personal preference for me.
*I wanted more at the end. I'm a big fan of an epilogue and I found the end a tiny bit rushed.

Overall a great story that I recommend. I cannot wait for more books from this author. 4.5 stars ♥

I really enjoyed this. I think as far as TRUE gay-for-you books go, this one is one of the better ones out there.

I loved the FRIENDSHIP that was the younger Noah and Cooper and all the flashback bits that helped form the picture of how much they cared about each other as kids.

I enjoyed the adult relationship between the two as they tried navigating their feelings. I did, however, feel like Noah was almost too driven by the physical/sexual attraction and felt the author didn't spend enough time making the desires also be about the companionship and friendship and emotional needs. BUT...that was minor.

It's not an entirely new story concept, but it was written well and the characters were easy to like, and some of the smexy scenes were exactly what I love about GFY. The angst bits courtesy of family drama were just enough to keep it interesting but not over-the-top.

Minor proofing errors (as this is my NEW pet peeve and one that I'm less and less forgiving of...). But nothing overly distracting.

All in all, very entertaining and worth reading...

Overall Opinion: This was cute, but sadly not going down as one of my favorites. It had all sorts of high ratings, so I was excited for this GFY romance (which is a theme I’ve decided I really enjoy — so please send any recs you might have 😜)! I don’t feel like we got really deep into the characters or their relationship even though I feel like there was potential for that with their back stories and family histories. It just felt surface level, and even their relationship felt like it was just based on sex. It was like I was constantly told how deep their feelings were, but I never really experienced or felt it (if that makes sense 🙈). The ending was super rushed and the epilogue was just a set up for the next book. I needed much, much more closure! Overall, it was cute but I simply didn’t love it.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Noah and Cooper’s story. Noah is returning back to the only place he ever really considered home after a failed relationship, only to be run over by his long lost best friend, Cooper. Cooper is shocked to hit a person, but even more shocked that it is Noah and ends up offering him a spare room in his new house. Their friendship returns automatically, but Cooper is having a hard time with Noah confessing that he is gay. Noah has no desire to be pushed back into the closet like his latest relationship, so he is torn when Cooper starts expressing an attraction and desire to be with him even though he had only been with women. There are some cute scenes, some family drama, and some sexy times...and they get a HFN ending.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between focusing mainly on Noah and Cooper in 3rd person narrative.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the ending. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well otherwise.

Instalove: No, but they cared about each other from when they were kids.

H1 (Hero #1) rating: 4 stars. Noah. I liked him. He was strong, loyal, hot and caring.

H2 (Hero #2) rating: 3.5 stars. Cooper. I liked him but I also wanted him to communicate better at times.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Yes, but only some mild jealousy

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: Not between mcs (see trigger spoiler tag belowJ

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This ends super abruptly with what I would call a HFN ending , but I was left with way too many unanswered questions to be satisfied.

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

“Everything inside me is calling for you. No matter how hard I try to push it away, you keep calling.”

Collide was a pleasant surprise. I liked the book way more than I thought I would. I just picked it up one night at random really. I wanted something to read a few chapters before sleep. The few chapters turned to few hours naturally.

It wasn't that the story was such a surprise or even that thrilling. Quite honestly I indulged in plenty of eye-rolls over how they were still BFFs after 17 years, at how easily they trusted each other again, at how much importance they put in a 3 year friendship when they were still kids. Not that I don't believe in childhood friendships but come on... You don't invite a guy you haven't heard from since you were 13 to live with you after a 3 hour reunion.

But the characters and setting were just so freaking endearing. I couldn't help being hooked and wanting to follow them on their road to discovering what it is they wanted from each other and from life in general.

It was a book that didn't leave much of a lasting impression but one that made me smile a lot while reading it.

"One way or another, I’ve always wanted to be a part of you.I have
loved you since I was ten years old, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to stop now.”

I am a huge fan of Riley Hart. So, loving her books is not a new thing for me. She has a way of writing such an intense and yet heart-warming with a bit of angst books that left you feel giddy and good but also make our heart-beat raise. I love her books and the couples she has written till today. I loved Noah and Cooper. I loved how she can make a straight-as-come guy a gay and we don’t even bait our eye. Well that speaks something for an author and her way of writing.

Cooper was enjoying his life at his bestest. He worked as a firefighter, loved his job. Loved saving the persons from fire, saving Live’s when he couldn’t save their parents from a fire that killed them. Cooper was a guy who never settled, always being busy enjoying his life and saving Live’s and having no strings attached sex. Never knowing that his life will change as he never thought it will.

“I’ve never wanted anyone as badly as I want you. It’s like embers that are always inside me, this slow burn that I can’t stop. Hell, I don’t know if I want to stop it.” - Noah

“I don’t know if I want to stop either…but I feel like I should. This isn’t something I should want, but never experiencing it—you—that scares the hell out of me, too.” – Cooper

Noah and Cooper were best friend from childhood but suddenly one day Noah and his family vanished when Cooper were gone to a game with his uncle. No one knows why not even Noah. But the sudden loss of a bestfriend really sad even for a child but time moves on. But after many years Noah find himself back in Blackcreek after he found out that his boyfriend cheated on him. Noah has some rules in his life where being in relationship with a closet guy was out of reach and he would never be in a relationship where the other has cheated on him. For him forgiveness means weakness.

Noah meet or I say “collided” with cooper, oh not cooper with his truck yeah Coop run Noah with his big ass truck within some minutes Noah was in blackcreek. Getting his old best friend back was really surreal for both of them. One thing led too other and Noah find himself living with Coop as a roommate. But when Noah told him he was gay, Coop couldn’t believe him. He thought about when they used to sneak at girl’s party in their childhood but as Noah cleared off the things Coop suddenly got thoughts in his mind that he shouldn’t be thinking like that for Noah.

“But it isn’t the first time with Noah… And Noah wasn’t just another man… When it came to Noah, things were always more.”

I loved that it was not an insta-lust for a straight guy to his best friend, it would’ve been awkward. As they found their old spark of friendship back in their life. Everything was good. But Noah can’t himself fantasizing about his straight friend where he doesn’t know that Coop has been fantasizing about him too. I loved the confusion, anger, frustration he felt about the situation and the new feelings he was getting for Noah.

This book was really well written, especially the last part where Coop was getting to know what his real feelings are, without giving a damn about anyone else without his family. I liked the plot-line and PLOT-TWIST of this book. I liked how they concurred their relationship no matter the hurdles and the confusion which was a driving force between them. No matter how much they tried to fight it. The ending was really good. But I would’ve appreciate it more if we would’ve gotten an good epilogue. Because the epilouge we got was rushed. That was really a bummer.

“Twenty years ago you collided with me over that damn football, and my life was never the same.”

If you're in the market for a hot friends-to-lovers MM read, this one delivers!

Coop and Noah have been best friends since they collided on the football field as young kids. When Noah's family up and moved suddenly, they lost contact for many years. Now, grown men, Coop collided again into Noah (with his truck) when Noah decided on a fresh start back in his hometown of Blackcreek. Their friendship picks up right where it left off. Coop offers Noah a bedroom in his new place while he gets on his feet. And so their relationship begins.....

Noah has loved Coop since childhood. A known gay man, he keeps things platonic with his heterosexual buddy. But soon the tight brotherhood they share starts getting foggy. Coop is confused and fights it. Enter angsty tug of war of GFY romance.

The book is seriously hot! Apparently this is a debut novel for this author and she did a great job with character development, storyline, and execution. It clearly could use a good editor however. The story was very light on plot and easy to read. I look forward to Wes and Braden's book due out April 2014.

And I thank you,

First, I have to admit something.

This was my first m/m book!

Why did I wait so long?? Damn, in this case I should say: better late than never.

Noah is going through a bad time. He's looking for the feeling of home, a feeling he's not felt lately. This is why he decides to come back to Blackcreek, the only place he has ever considered home because of his childhood friend, Cooper.

Noah runs into Cooper as soon as he arrives in Blackcreek. Their meeting is unconventional, since Cooper hits Noah with his truck. LOL

Cooper offers him a place where to stay; when he discovers that Noah is gay he's shocked.
Cooper is straight, but, little by little, he's feeling attracted to his friend. He tries to fight this feeling but it only gets bigger day by day.

What can I say about this book?? I really enjoyed it.

1) Cooper is a FIREMAN. Not sure everybody knows about my fireman fantasy.
So, you can only imagine how happy I was when I learned about Cooper's job.

This is not a spoiler but it has not much to do with the book.

- This is a friend to lovers story. They're my favorites.

- Sex scenes were so HOT! It's been long since I read such hot scenes. OMG

Whenever I'll listen to this song, "Guiding Light" by Foy Vance and Ed Sheeran, I'll always think of Noah and Cooper.

I like the friends to lovers trope and this really worked for me on that level, and this was also a GFY story and from that angle it worked less. I got more than a little bit of whiplash from Cooper going back and forth. I loved the men when they worked things out and when they were together and the ending, although it wrapped up too quickly did work for me. I just found that my frustrations with Cooper's character and his waffling started to eat up my enjoyment of the story.

Indecision is something I can totally get behind but there were a couple of moments were I had felt that he had come to accept his feelings for Noah only to have that ripped away almost to start from square one. This just began to feel manipulative at that point. Still the characters had chemistry both as friends and as lovers and the story had an nice progression. Once I moved beyond the whiplash this had some sweet moments. I'll be reading book two.

Hoo Boy! That was a great book! I could sit and read about Cooper and Noah for days at a time!!

Good God, the things they would say to each other....sigh. This is just one of those books where you love the main characters so much just because of how much they love each other.

I loved it! I'm really excited about book 2 as well. I know the 2nd book is about two other characters, but would it be such a bad thing to dedicate a chapter or two (or six) to Coop and Noah?

You could probably slap me and it still wouldn't wipe the smile from my face :)

I am totally a Riley Hart fan after this. I shall now commence book stalking.

Noah and Cooper were so cute together and I always love the childhood friends to adult lovers story line.

The story was well done and more bite-sized (although I wouldn't call it a short), perfect for when you aren't in saga mode, still having substance and feeling complete.

Already started book two.

This book has everything I love! First both characters are perfect! They are sexy as hell, and they are men who takes no shit!

I haven't read a lot of M/M but I know one thing: sex scenes are the BEST! It's hot, steamy and after reading one you have two options: Take a cold shower or jump on your hubby/boyfriend.
Don't believe me: look at a few gifs I found

See and trust me reading is worse

But let's go back to the story ;)
Noah is back in Blackcreeck after he had to left pretty unexpectedly when he was 13. He left his life but most importantly he left his best friend Cooper.
Right after his arrival, he collide with a truck whose owner is none other than Cooper.
After checking nothing was wrong at the hospital, Noah had to find somewhere to sleep and as a matter of fact Cooper has a room to rent.

Both guys are happy to get back together and they spend some time to catch up. At some point Noah has to tell the truth about his status and has to admit he is gay. He is totally ok with it but he's a little afraid things may change him and Cooper.

When Cooper learns the truth, he reassures his friend quickly that nothing will change between them.
How he was wrong... but if things change it's not in a bad way. Not at all.

Cooper is at first a little uncertain on how he should react towards Noah because if his friend is attracted to men maybe he shouldn't be around the house without wearing a shirt or something, right?
Things begin to be not under control when each guy decides to bring a date home because Cooper didn't reacts well, he didn't like to see Noah with someone else.

description

I've liked how Cooper is honest with himself from the start. Sure he ask himself a lot of question but he doesn't hesitate for long. He prefers experimented the way he feels rather than to put itself barriers. Of course Noah ask nothing better than exploring the feelings that might develop between them but at the same time he does not want to hide. His last relationship has ended because of it and he doesn't want to go through it again

It's a story about self-discovery, of what you desire but also on other's people opinion.
Cooper is born in a traditional family where he was taught love is between a man and a woman. He fears the reaction of his family. For him, he's not gay, it's only with Noah that he feels a strong attraction not only sentimental nor sexual but which wakes in him feelings of deep and pure love.

Really enjoyed this one, Cooper and Noah are extremely hot together and there's plenty of yummy on/off again sexual Tension and will they/won't they angsty moments. Nice little interludes spaced throughout the story relating back to both their pasts exploring the deep relationship they shared as boys and giving insight into why this passion they share as adults is so palpable. On a level of GFY, there were moments when I questioned if über straight Cooper ( as he constantly reminds us ) would really be as quickly pulled sexually towards Noah as he was so early in the story but because the chemistry is so tangible I think I started to just do what I do best when I'm attached to a book and its characters... I put my rose coloured specs on and just sat back and basked in the the glow that these two generate! First in the series and I'm impressed so looking forward to the next in the series which I'm guessing will be Wes' story. Keeper!

I really enjoyed this story about two childhood best-friends, Noah and Cooper, reuniting and falling in love. Sometimes GFY books don't appeal to me, but this one was done just right. There was even a twist at the end that I never saw coming. Looking forward to reading Wes and Braden's story next.

This was a well done GFY/friends to lovers story. While the storyline doesn't cover new territory, I found myself drawn in and enjoying it from the beginning.

Noah and Cooper were childhood friends for three years before Noah's family moved without a word. After not hearing from each other for 17 years, Noah moves back to town. Cooper literally runs into Noah that first day and offers him a room in his house. He is surprised to find out Noah is gay, but is thrilled to have his friend back. Shortly after, Cooper unexpectedly finds himself lusting after Noah. While Noah can't deny his attraction to his straight friend, he really doesn't want to pursue it for a number of reasons. When they stop fighting their attraction and the building sexual tension, things get very hot and a bit more complicated.

There are a number of flashbacks to the time the boys were together as children. The story revolves around past and present family drama, the confusion Cooper feels at his attraction to Noah and the underlying questions of why Noah's family left and why Noah never got in touch with Cooper. The relationship shown in the flashbacks helped to make the GFY angle more appealing to me. I also liked that even though he struggled with his decisions, Cooper was open with Noah and willing to talk about things (although some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy). I enjoyed both main characters as well as the secondary characters of Braden and Wes, who seem poised to be the MC's of the next book. While I found the ending a bit quick, I'm hoping we will get to see more of them in the next story.

I really love "gay for you" and "friends to lovers" books! This book is no exception.

Noah and Cooper are best friends since they were ten years old. They meet again after seventeen years apart, and what was once a true friendship, becomes a beautiful love!

Cooper had to struggle against his own doubts... he thought himself as a straight man and never knew that his best friend was gay... but Noah is everything to him, and as soon as he realized that he couldn't live without Noah, all doubts and struggles disappeared!

I loved that they actually talked about everything, and that they were always open to end their relationship if it threatened their friendship.
