Ryder

Two years of silence and no goodbye—she slipped away and through my fingers, leaving me with nothing but questions… and a heavy heart from missing her.

Jordyn

When I walked away, it was to protect him. Yet, all he knows, all he cares about, is that I left. Coming home is a bittersweet journey, each step heavier than the last.

While I’m no longer half a world away, the obstacles in front of us make it feel like we’ve never been farther apart.

I want to give him the answers he so desperately craves, and this time, I’ll get to say goodbye. However, what I didn’t plan on was Ryder’s fight. He’s not going to let me go so easily this time.

This is sickeningly sweet, and I don't know how to feel about it. I mean, I love that they are deeply and truly in love with each other, but, maaan, the love bombing was too much—like, waaaay too much. This is a freaking cheesefest. Don't get me wrong, I really dig sweetness in my romance, but this was so over the top that at times it made me cringe.

Anyway, Jordyn (24) got back two years after she left Ryder (24). They were both miserable during this separation, but she did it to protect him and his family. You see, her mom is a controlling witch and has no issue ruining anyone's lives, which might seem like an obstacle with her plan and their family name. She even tried to kill her son's fiancee 12 years prior, but it backfired, and this plan ended up killing her own son. Jordyn knew the length her mom would take, so she thinks staying away is the best thing to do. Hence the two-year separation. It didn't matter anyway because they still love each other very much, and when she finally came back, they decided to find a way to be together.

They had a lot of help with their sneaking around, and the family aspect was really a great factor in the story. There's no toxicity from Ryder's side, and all of them were just supportive and helpful. Added to that support system was Jordyn's best friend; she really is a great friend and has been by her side ever since.

Anyway, the climax or supposed climax of the story was honestly disappointing. I thought they would find some incriminating evidence to use against her parents, but her mom ended up dying. Why was this PI thing even added to the plot if it didn't serve any purpose? It seems more like just an afterthought to add something to the story. Tbh, when her mother died, I already lost interest. The story was building some anticipation, only for it to be thrown away by killing the witch in a car accident. 😑

Overall, this would've been a 4⭐ read, but I feel like the resolution of the problem was rushed. This is the issue they've been trying to work around since chapter 1, but then all the collaborative planning and thinking became useless after the mother's passing. Suffice to say, I was disappointed. I had high hopes, but the story didn't deliver.

Anyway, though this didn't work for me, other readers might find this up their alley.

SPOILER WARNING!!!! Do not read further if you don’t want to know the whole plot & mystery!

This was a bit cheesy for me as I lean towards more angsty-type reads with strong characters where they have to work for it to get their HEA. In this one, there isn’t much a story, too much repetiveness that would drive anyone crazy and the drama/angst/suspense portion falls flat as a pancake at the end. Three stars is more then it deserves but it's all because finally we have a celibate MMC!

First thing first though and that is Safety Info:

For a 2nd chance story, I was surprised that for once both MCs remained true to one another and celibate!! Hallelujah!
No manwhore here or millionaire/billionaire. Just an average loyal Hero and MCs devoted to one another.
No OW/OM.
No cheating
No intimate scenes with OP
No mentions of others in the past
No mentions if they were each other’s first or not.
HEA * Epilogue with marriage & kids.

So for anyone who wants to read this, I suggest you do not read the spoilers as I cannot mention what this story is about without giving out spoilers! So be warned!

Anyway, for those that like cheesy & loyal MCs, you will like it. It’s not a bad read – it just underdeveloped and just too cheesy for my tastes.

It’s been two years with nothing but my hand for relief. That’s about to change. My girl is home, and I’m going to show her exactly how much I missed her.

“There’s been no one since you.”
I nod. “Same.” My voice cracks.
After two long years, I can’t help but get choked up at her words.
It was only her for me.
It was only me for her.
Us.
---
“Hi, sweets.” I kiss her lips.
“You feel like home.”
“That’s because that’s what we are for each other.”
----
“No matter what happens, know that I love you, Ryder Kincaid. I’ll never love anyone the way I love you.”
“Good. Because we’re end game, sweets.”
“Saying I love you doesn’t seem like enough, but I don’t have the words to explain it any other way.”

----------

Jordyn left without looking back two years ago. Ryder has never stopped loving her. Now she's back and ready to explain herself and end their relationship for good, but Ryder is determined to fight for her.

----------

Holy smokes. This is the series that keeps on giving loving, caring, devoted, hot men one after the other and I. Am. Here. For. It. 🔥

I have devoured every book from this series, and this one is no exception. I have been waiting for Ryder and Jordyn's story for what feels like ages, and let me tell you I did not see that coming!

Ryder is the perfect cinnamon roll MMC. His devotion has no limit and he embraces the family motto just like his brothers.

Jordyn... I didn't like her because I didn't know her. Now I don't know if I would have forgiven her because it could have gone another way if she had done things differently, but I can say she has redeemed herself.

The both of them are meant to be together and the ending of this story promises beautiful things for Maverick (my favorite trope is back!! 👀).

Stay Present- Ryder and Jordyn

Ahh. Finally.
We have waited forever for this story. Poor Ryder. Two years he waited.
Ryder met Jordyn and they hit the ground running. Soon Jordyn started appearing at family functions and everyone knew it was serious. Jordyn had an internship coming up, out of the country, and everyone was worried for Ryder but he admitted they loved each other and they would work it out. Then she left. No conversation, no goodbye, no plan for the future. Ryder was crushed. That year turned into two and now Jordyn is back in town.

Jordyn texts Ryder that she is back, not knowing what he will say. But she has to tell him the truth. She has to tell him what happened two years ago when she walked away without even a goodbye. She loved him, she loves him, but will he understand?

So good. We knew this one would hurt but wow. I don’t think anyone saw that storyline coming. I don’t want to spoil it so that’s it. It was so good and love love all the family support and love they have.

Are the Kincaid brothers the most intellectual books out there? No, they aren’t. But they are a fun small town romance series for sure. One I think should be talked about more honestly!

I’m sure this one has been one others that read this series have been waiting for, since Jordyn is back. I wasn’t sure how it was going to go and I didn’t except this at all, but I loved it. It’s a good book and a good continuation of this large family. Can’t wait for the twins to fall too!

Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️

The story all the Kinkaid brothers fans have been waiting for! Ryder and Jordyn! I loved this one so much. I’m a dark romance girlie and this one had a touch of darkness to it that I don’t normally expect from Kaylee’s books so it was a pleasant welcome. I absolutely loved Ryder and Jordyn’s devotion to each other, even after being forced to be separated after two years and then trying to make everything work out when they were reunited.

The Kincaid Brothers are great….but I didn’t love this one

I finished this in one sitting and while I have loved this series - the Kincaid brothers are wonderful - this was a bit of a miss for me. Just seemed a bit unrealistic and I felt as though there was not as much detail given as there could have been. A 20 something year old sneaking around is just a bit much and made it less authentic.

When I read that prologue my heart broke 💔 and I just could not put this book down.

Jordyn, this h went through so much, but her love for Ryder did not fade. And when she realises that things will not change for the better, she decides to fight to live her life on her own terms and for the love of her life.

Ryder 😍 let's be honest, Kaylee Ryan is making it damn hard to choose one Kincaid brother as your favourite here!!!

He loves Jordyn, but his also hurt and angry and he wants answers, but he just never realised how painful those answers could be.

Ryder and Jordyn's chemistry and love was beautiful, they did not have it easy but they sure fought hard to be with one another. Some chapters had me in tears and shock...𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰 loved every second of this book.

Another Kincaid takes the fall...and I can't wait to read the next one!!! We get a hint of what's to come for Mav's book here, and I'm just so excited!!!

This was the most beautiful second chance romance! Ryder and Jordyn had me all up in my feels, and I adored every moment of it. Omg, this book made me feel everything! The love that they still had for each other, the pain that their separation caused, and the longing from their years apart. From the moment we see them together again, you can absolutely feel the connection that was still so strong between them.

I simply adored this book so much. Second chance romances are my weakness, and Kaylee Ryan nailed all the feels with this one.

I feel like the first thing I need to say is, because this book is an interconnected standalone a reader would get better enjoyment out of this book if previous books are read beforehand.

*My Vagueness is for a reason.

If there’s one thing I am here for, it’s for these Kincaid men and the motto they live by. I have devoured every Kincaid book like it’s the last book I’ll ever read. Within the past 5 books, I’ve gotten crumples of what Ryder and Jordyn’s story could be; So needless to say, I have been dying to get my hands on Ryder and Jordyn’s story for what feels like an eternity. Let me be the first to say, I didn’t not anticipate what was to come.

Ryder, Ryder, Ryder. I thought I saw his devotion and loyality in previous books, boy was I wrong. This man is it and when I say it, I mean the very definition of a cinnamon roll Hero. His patience, passion, and fight makes him every woman’s dream man.

Jordyn. I’ve got to be honest, from previous books and mentions of her, I didn’t like her because I couldn’t understand her. Now that I understand her? Hollllyyyyy Smokes. I get it. I 100% get it.

Stay Present at its core is love and family, and when I say family? I mean blood isn’t the only thing that makes you family, it’s also the fight that they are along the ride for.

I so wish I could go more in depth, but for this book and authors sake this is where I end. I do however recommend Stay Present.

3.5 Stars

I can't lie, this one was a little uneven for me. The parts that worked really worked...but there were parts, one in particular, that didn't.

Unfortunately the main one that didn't was because, without spoiling it as it's a major plot point, it felt a little like hiding in a closet and calling 911 because there's a murderer in your house...and discovering it's a raccoon.

It's a relief that you didn't have to deal with all of that, but incredibly anticlimactic. This is great in real life, but in a book I wanted more than the (metaphorical in this case) raccoon that I found as a reader.

Ryder and Jordyn have been teased as a great couple through all of the books leading up to this one so I went in already invested. And that part didn't disappoint. I loved their relationship. I loved the way the family all showed up to support both of them. I loved her friends and how much they were on her side, and I loved the forbidden feeling of this one.

As I said before, there was a lot here to like that was lessened some by that aforementioned "raccoon". It didn't fully ruin the book for me...but it did leave me wanting more from that part of the story I think because it left it feeling like a lot of build up for an abrupt ending to the drama.

That said, overall I enjoyed the parts I liked enough to say that I enjoyed and recommend this title.

Ahh, Kaylee Ryan hit me with this one and surprised the heck out of me with the reason why Jordyn left Ryder... for two freaking years!

I was not expecting that at all and I have to say it was a damn good plot twist. While this is an interconnected stand-alone technically I think for Ryder and Jordyn's story it will be much better to get the full effect if you read the previous Kincaid brothers, especially the ones where Ryder and Jordyn are mentioned as a couple.

There were a lot of emotions in this story between the hurt Ryder feels with Jordyn's abrupt departure and limited contact during her time away. As well as, Jordyn's pain in leaving, the reason why, and the fears of not only coming back but the repercussions for her and Ryder.

The beginning of this book had me on edge and hanging on every written word just dying for them to find a way to be together again. However, after a while, I did find that it lost some of that punch and felt a little repetitive. There were moments of action and drama that were perfect for the story but others that felt too much like the same. For that I felt I needed to drop the rating just a little to 4.5 stars, then things got going again at the end and it finished off with a 4.75 star rating.

I would not have missed Ryder's story no matter what ratings it was given because I love the Kincaid brothers one and all and Kaylee Ryan has been a favorite author for quite a while now.

I'm really looking forward to the twins who are the last to fall. It looks like Maverick will be next and I think it's going to be damn good.

Ryder can't believe after two years Jordyn is back in the States and all he's gotten is a basic text message telling him of that. While at his brother's wedding, he's not going to let her distract him again but after it's time for answers. Depending on what she says will depend on whether he keeps fighting. It's been two years and he doesn't love her any less than the day she left but he's hurting and angry.

Jordyn only has a few days to get Ryder to understand what happened two years ago. Why she left without saying goodbye and why even though she is back they can't be together. For two years she's wanted nothing but Ryder and to be back in his arms but thanks to her family she had to go away and now that she's back she must stay away.

When Ryder finally gets the truth he's blown away by the story Jordyn tells him but he has no doubt every word is true. He won't let anything stand in their way of being together again, not her family and certainly not her fears. For now, he has her in his arms and when he has to let her go it will only be to go to his family and make a plan.

With the whole Kincaid family and Jordyn's best friend behind them, they start to put together a plan to get Jordyn away from her family once and for all. In the meantime, they'll have to play their part and keep their distance but with a love so strong and the distance so short it's not easy.

Sneaking every moment they can together only enforces the need to put an end to Jordyn's concerns and start their future together just like they always planned.

When everything seems to be falling into place and they can see a way out Jordyn's at risk and Ryder won't be apart from her anymore.

Happy Reading.

I was all set to hate Jordyn due to the previous books and how she left Ryder. But quickly I felt sorry for her and hated how she was manipulated and felt like Ryder, in awe at what she sacrificed to keep all the Kincaid's safe.

Once everything was all out in the open, Ryder and Jordyn were able to come up with a plan that would help Jordyn get away and be able to live the life with Ryder she wanted. Things took a bit of turn towards the end and the plan wasn't needed, but Ryder and Jordyn were able to get their HEA with all of the family at their backs.

I really loved what Ryder and Jordyn did with the gift from her Grandfather. What a legacy to leave the family!

Jordyn & Ryder

I’m so happy that Ryder and Jordyn got their HEA! I was not expecting this plot one but but I enjoyed the sneaking around and the angst of it all. Ryder and Jordyn have loved one another across continents after she broke both their hearts. I was surprised they got back together so quickly but I thought their dynamic was sweet and so tender too. What a feel good love story!

Stay Present is a small town, second chance romance and is book 6 in the Kincaid Brothers series. It was such an emotional story that truly touched my heart.

Jordyn and Ryder fell madly in love but have been separated for 2 years after Jordyn left without an explanation. Ryder was left devastated but never stopped loving her. Jordyn has finally returned to explain why she left and why they can’t be together. However, Ryder is prepared to fight for their love and finally get the happily ever after they were always meant to have!

I fell in love with Jordyn and Ryder! They loved each other so fiercely! There were so many obstacles in their way but with so much love and support there was nothing that they couldn’t overcome! I loved how much they both fought to be together!

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

Jordyn is back.
Ryder gets a text from her after almost no communication for two years. He’s angry but still so in love with her, he agrees to meet her when she asks. I liked that there was no long drawn out anger, separation after her confession, and getting back at her for hurting him, from Ryder.
Jordyn explains that she left to protect him and his family from her evil mother. Ryder is a little baffled by this cause he talked with her mom several times while Jordyn was gone and she was very sweet to him. She goes on to explain how her parents didn’t want her, she was an oops baby, they never loved her or cared about her. She tells him about her brother, when she was 10 she overheard her parents talking about how her brother died. He was going to pursue a different career and marry a girl her parents didn’t approve of so the mom hired someone to get rid of the girl. Unfortunately Jordyn’s brother was driving his girlfriend’s car and the bad guy hit him and both her brother and the killer died in the crash. After that she was scared and did everything her mother demanded of her. She tried to rebel when she fell in love with Ryder but her mother threatened the whole Kincaid family if she didn’t leave him and go to Paris for her fashion internship.
He immediately believes her and tells her he loves her and they will find away to be together. There is a lot of make up for lost time sex in the book with copious amounts of I love yous. The two sneak around like two teenagers because of her mom. Her best friend, Gianna helps her countless times in covering for her so she can spend time with Ryder.
Ryder talks to the whole family and explains how Jordyn’s mom has threatened the whole family’s livelihoods and he needs their help to neutralize the threat and save Jordyn from her mom, who also wants her to marry a man of her choosing. The family decide to hire a private investigator to get any dirt on the mom and dad and to see if there is evidence of the hit that killed her brother. The PI is not able to find anything, he says her parents are squeaky clean. More worry, more sneaking around, more sex, and more I love yous. Rinse and repeat. Finally the sisters in law and his cousin Ramsey brainstorm a great idea. They are going to use social media and expose her mom and her machinations against Ryder and Jordyn. They find out Jordyn has files saved to a cloud of all the threats her mother has used. They plan to get together soon to go live with them telling their story and showing the proof. This will ruin her mom’s standing in Atlanta high society. As a reader you are waiting for the fallout but it never happens. Jordyn and her mom fight in the car while the mom is driving and they wreck. The mom doesn’t make it and Jordyn has a broken leg and a few other minor injuries. While in the hospital her dad shows up and sees her with Ryder and disowns her. The Kincaid clan rallies around her and she is well taken care of by them and Ryder.
Fast forward, they get married and a few more weeks later she finds out her grandfather had set up a trust for her and her and Ryder are both given 5 million dollars each. They pay Ramsey back for the useless PI and buy property to build a house and a huge separate living/entertainment space so the whole family can be together for family events. She also opens a boutique in town. The last chapter is the boutique opening where they announce they are pregnant and it sets up the next book, Maverick and a woman and her daughter that he helps with car trouble.

I loved that they both were celibate during the separation and still very much in love with each other. Liked that they got back together immediately after her explanation. Loved the whole family dynamic and their love and support. Loved her bestie Gianna and her man Calvin. Also really liked all the kids, the new baby, and Blakely was as always a hoot.
Didn’t like the PI involvement, it never went anywhere. Didn’t like that Jordyn had ammunition against her mom the whole time but never thought to use it. I get she was scared and she knew what her mom was capable of but she never thought outside of sneaking around to meet Ryder and leaving him again to protect him. I would have really liked to have seem her mom humiliated in front of her peers. But, dying in a car crash was justice for killing her only son by car crash. Overall I enjoyed the story and can’t wait for Maverick’s story.

Disclaimer: I received this book at no cost from the publisher/author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I am leaving a voluntary review and all opinions are my own.

Kaylee Ryan is a master of writing books that hit you right in the feels. Get ready for a TKO!

Even though this is an interconnected standalone, I recommend reading the books of this series in order before reading this one. It will add so much more depth to this book when you finally crack it open.

Kaylee Ryan is a gifted storyteller and I have enjoyed every book I've read that she has written. She has a profound writing style that is relatable and easy to form an attachment to. I loved the clever plot and the things that I didn't see coming in the story. I was kept on the edge of my seat for the entire journey.

These characters are so complex and so distinct. I loved how their personalities stood out. It was so easy to form an attachment to these characters and live through them as the story progressed. The found family and chosen family aspects in the book were so heartwarming. I loved the friendships and all the family and the dynamics between the characters.

The romance in this book takes the reader on an emotional journey but also a fulfilling one. There were so many struggles and complications for Jordyn and Ryder but he truly fights for their love and it is so swoon-worthy. The reader could feel the tangible chemistry that these two had and it was obvious that they were meant to be together.

Overall, this is a compelling and brilliant story that proves that love can conquer all. I love this author's riveting storytelling and memorable characters. I am so excited for the next book in this series!

Stay Present is the Sixth book in Kaylee Ryan’s Kincaid Brothers Series. This is Ryder Kincaid’s and Jordyn’s second chance romance.

Ryder Kincaid has only ever known one love in his life, and that love walked away without a word two years ago. The man hasn’t been the same since that moment. Now, a blast from his past has resurfaced, and when he learns the truth of why Jordyn left him without a word, he’s going to do everything in his power to not only keep her safe, but to show her he can fight the epic battle that is about to hit him full force.

My Thoughts:

Having read all of the books in the Kincaid Brothers’ Series, there was always a brother that stuck out more than most. That brother is Ryder Kincaid. I don’t know what it was, maybe the heartbreak that flowed off from him everytime he stepped onto the scene. Or maybe it was the refusal of moving on. He was stubborn, that’s for sure. But I’ve come to learn when the Kincaid men love, they love so damn hard.

Jordyn’s backstory came as a surprise to me. I thought this novel was going to go in a whole different direction. In all honesty, I was a little let down with the direction Kaylee Ryan took Jordyn’s backstory. I felt like the sordid uncaring mother and father aspect already told in Ramsey’s story (Stay Always). I liked Jordyn’s character but there was something missing with her. I had a hard time connecting with her. Not to mention, she’s damn near twenty-five years old…. If you want to leave your parents house, then LEAVE! If you don’t like the way you’re being treated…. then LEAVE. If you want to be with and marry the love of your life and live the perfect small town life… then LEAVE! I have no doubt in my mind that eight brawny brothers and their dad can protect you… UGH, this aspect in the story line did not work for me and that is why I decided to give this novel a 3 star rating. The parental aspect felt very immature for Jordyn’s age. I had to remind myself of her age several times throughout this novel.

As for the romance aspect, I really loved Ryder and Jordyn together. I loved the chemistry that they shared, and I loved how the Kincaid Family welcomed her into their lives with no hesitation. My heart swooned hard! I just wish Kaylee Ryan went a different direction with this one.

Now, it’s time for the twin’s stories! I have to be honest, I may be even more intrigued by their story that I was with Ryder’s! I need more heat, passion, and love. I have a feeling the twin’s story are going to set kindles on fire everywhere. I’m ready!!

I really enjoyed this book. This was a second chance romance between Ryder and Jordyn. Ryder is such a swoon worthy alpha. He is compassionate, devoted and he loves deeply. It showed in this book and had me wishing for a man like this 😊

This story starts out with Jordyn coming back to town after being gone for 2 years. After leaving Ryder without a word, she's back to explain what happened. She doesn't get the reaction she is looking for. Ryder is determined not to let her go a second time around. He is still in love with Jordyn and wants to help her get out from her mother's threats.

Jordyn's sorry was emotion and one I want expecting. There were times in this book that my heart just broke for her. She is such a strong, selfless woman. She deserves to be loved the way Ryder wants to love her. Every time these 2 were alone, the sparks fly. The chemistry is hot. The spice was spicy. I loved it.

Ryder's family is so great, and the banter is hilarious. I wish I had a family like this. Ones that are there for you no matter what. Whether it's for advice, life lessons, support, love, or a good laugh. They know what happened with Jordyn and want to help come up with a plan to try and get her out and away from her mother. Just when you think they've got it all figured out, twist and turns happen that you don't see coming.

I loved how Ryder always referred to staying present with Jordyn. Every time she would freak out her to thinking to much about the past or the future, he'd always tell her to stay in the present. I loved how this referred to the title of the book. It fit! I loved these two together. I just wish we could have seen into the past. Got a look into their relationship then. I felt like if could have seen what they were and been through then, I would have loved it even better.

This was a good book, and I enjoyed reading it. I can't wait to see what this author does in Maverick's story. I received this as an Advance Readers Copy from Grey's Promotion. This is my honest opinion.

“Stay Present” by Kaylee Ryan is book 6 in the Kincaid brothers series. While it can be read as a stand alone, characters from the previous books are interwoven into the story. This book was amazing and I highly recommend it.
Two years of silence and no goodbye. Now she is back and he wants answers. He knows their love was real. She left to protect him and his family. She wants to get closure and say goodbye. What she doesn’t expect is to find out that he never stopped loving her. He isn’t going to let her go, and will fight for their love despite the obstacles they face.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about Jordyn because she hurt Ryder, but I found myself rooting for her. This second chance romance has all the swoon worthy feels and Ryder is an MMC that has cinnamon role hero vibes. All he wants is Jordyn and a life with her like his brothers have found. He shows her forgiveness, love and what family means. She feels the overwhelming guilt of leaving him, but loves Ryder and decides to fight alongside him to get the life with him she wants. Without giving anything away, I felt the poetic justice was a twist I didn’t see coming. I appreciate the way Kaylee Ryan completes their story and redeems Jordyn for all of us. The Kincaid motto of “love Harder” is never more evident than in this book. It is a heartwarming journey not only about romantic love but also about the enduring bonds forged within a chosen family. Kaylee Ryan beautifully portrays how ones chosen family can become a source of strength and solace, showcasing the resilience of human relationships beyond the traditional bounds of blood ties.
In a world where relationships are tested by unforeseen circumstances, this book serves as a reminder that love has the capacity to endure. I couldn’t put it down!

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 is the sixth book in the Kincaid Brothers series by Kaylee Ryan, featuring the much-anticipated second chance story for Ryder and Jordyn. She left him without a word two years ago, and now she’s back to finally explain why, and end things for good. But Kincaid men don’t give up that easily. They “work hard and love harder,” so Ryder is willing to do whatever it takes to convince her that they are still meant to be together, and they will find a way. Some say love isn’t always enough, but maybe with the force of the Kincaid family behind it, their love will overcome the obstacles in the way.

Boy, have I been wanting to get my hands on this one for awhile!!!🤗 Believe I had personal beef with Jordyn going in, because who has the audacity to ghost a Kincaid like that!!😤 However, her story broke my heart, and the emotion from both of them seems so authentic that I was pretty much immediately on her cheering squad.☺️ She was selfless and strong and so deserving of the swoon worthy cinnamon roll hero known as Ryder.😍 Seriously! Could he be more perfect? He was so utterly devoted to her, and then when they were alone, the heat turned ALL the way up!!🔥🔥 Aside from their role model relationship, though, what makes these books for me is the family at large. They assemble at the drop of a hat when someone needs them, bringing love, support, comic relief, life lessons, whatever is needed. As usually, little Blakely steals the show with laugh out loud hilarity. If that kid gets a book some day, I’ll need to prepare for it!🤣🤣 There were definitely a couple twists I wasn’t expecting, and I definitely teared up a couple times. Overall, this book was a joy to read, because it’s like visiting old friends. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Maverick!!

I received an advanced review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Maybe my ratings are a bit unfair given I haven't read the rest of the books in the series.

I really loved the family dynamic at the Kincaid household as much as I hated Jordyn's household.

I also liked that there was no third-act break-up or drama, and everything unfolded maturely and with strong support from the entire Kincaid clan.

But as a person jumping into this book directly in the series, it was kind of difficult for me to keep track of the huge Kincaid clad. Especially at the start. It was difficult to follow who the other 8 brothers where, whose partner was who, whose kids made appearances etc. A family tree of the humongous family at the start would have really helped. So, I suggest the other readers to maybe read the series from the start.

I am really glad how everything was maturely handled. Incl the fact that Ryder jumped directly to the questions in the start itself and no secrets were kept, and everything was out in the open in the start and all they had to do was work together to resolve stuff. And I am really glad that Ryder was the kind of MC who was patient and kept reminding her that she is safe and how there were things she was taking blame for and how he would help.

Apart from me getting lost in the names of the Kincaid clan, I was also equally confused on their past and how they were close then and how they spent time then and how her parents never came up then. And how the dynamic would have been for them to still pine for two years and meet like they have been together for ever. At the start of the story it kind of seemed like after they had exchanged their ILYs two years back, she had relied on her cousin and then things went down so I don't really understand how close they actually were. Maybe the previous books in the series would help with this? I don't know.

Wow this book is absoluely BRILLIANT!
The emotions that poured out of me reading this story was unbelieveable.
I am loving the Kincaid family, although I haven't read all of the books within this series, which I deeply regret. The ones I have read are just fantastic, these brothers are book boyfriend GOLD !! Ryder Kincaid is no different I fell in love with him so easily because he is just so lovely, compassionate and determined..He sure as hell loves deeply.
..I really wasn't expecting Jordyn's story who left town 2 years ago breaking Ryders heart in two.
Having no explanation why Jordyn left, has haunted Ryder but he never in all that time she was gone did he ever stop loving her.
Now she is back in town and ready to explain why she left to Ryder..I don't think Jordyn was prepared for Ryder's reaction,he wants to fight for their love...even though everything is complicated.
Jordyn certainly did completely change my opinion of her she had been through so much and my heart went out to her.
But One thing is certain Ryder and Jordyn are meant to be together.
I absolutely adore this Family the Kincaids are just one in a million the Love and support they show one another is exceptional...I want to be a part of their family..lol..I Love the banter too it can be so funny and entertaining.
Kaylee Ryan has written a whole series that you never get tired of reading, her writing is so addictive and I think I may be becoming an addict to her words.
Stay Present is a wonderful book and deserves all the beautiful Stars.
5 Stars.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a second chance romance between Ryder and Jordyn, who have not seen each other in two years. If you have been reading this series, then you know Ry has been distraught without her.

In this book we learn the why and what she has been up to for the last two years. We and Ry and his family learn why she took off and why she stayed away so long. Now she has come home and it's for a very good reason. We also learn about the person keeping Ry and Jordyn apart.

One thing I really liked about this book is that there is no miscommunication. Jordyn and Ry act like adults in this story. They communicate well and are honest with each other and there is no other woman/man drama. They have a common enemy, and they work together to try and be together forever. I also loved how the author brought characters from previous books into this story.

A really big theme in this story is the title of the book, Stay Present. Ry uses the catch phrase a lot when Jordyn gets a bit crazy about their past or their future and he tells her not to worry just be in the present. It's a big theme in this book and something as a reader I need to remember, just stay present.

I loved the ending of the book. I love that we get an epilogue of sorts and get a glance of Ry and Jordyn's happily ever after and maybe what's to come for Maverick. In this story I also fell in love with Gianna and Calvin. I would love to read their story too.

Thank you to the author & Grey’s promotions for an early copy of Stay Present in exchange for my honest review!

First of all: this book honestly would have had a higher rating had I read the other books since this is an interconnected standalone - I want more background on the family & the other brothers. So that is a reflection on me & not the authors amazing writing!! You’re coming into this story after they had been together & then were separated - so we don’t see what the relationship was before that happens. Curious if they were in any of the other books as side characters that would give more context to their relationship before. Although the beginning of the book really builds their current relationship up & you see how much they care about each other.

Jordyn leaves her love, Ryder, behind unexpectedly & we find her returning after 2 years at the beginning of this book where he finds out she had to leave because of threats her mother had made.

Jordyn, Ryder & Ryders family come up with a plan to get Jordyn out of her situation & while you’re on the edge of your seat waiting to see if it’s going to work - what you thought was going to happen isn’t what happens at all 🤯🤯

If you love forbidden love & second chance tropes, you’ll LOVE this book! Everything they had to endure to get to their HEA makes their love story an epic one!

I love that the epilogue seems to set the story for the next book & the next brothers story - I’m excited to start from the beginning & get to know all of the characters! Definitely recommend: 💯

Kayleeeeee, where can I find a Kincaid brother in real life??? How am I to choose who is my favorite?? Do I just settle for a why choose and not have to pick any lol

I swear these Kincaid men are EVERYTHING!!! They are so loving, caring and determined to get the love of their life and keep her!

Ryder, Ryder is absolute perfection 🥹 The way that he was there for Jordyn once she came back into his life and was determined to find a way to sneak around 😍. He did not give up hope that one day they would be together.

Jordyn, my heart broke for her. All she wanted to do was protect Ryder and his family and it hurt her so much to do so. Years passed and the love she has for Ryder is still as strong as ever. She’s finally ready to stand up and spend her life with him but what will it cost her?

This book takes you through the emotions. Most of all though there is so much love to be felt, not just from Jordyn and Ryder but from allll of the Kincaid family.

I can not wait for Maverick’s book next

Ms. Ryan keeps giving us books that are impossible to put down. Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better with both the storylines and characters. I'm so glad we finally get Ryder's story because he is one swoon-worthy man who stole my heart. Jordyn was a person that I was not sure of when she was mentioned in the previous books. To be honest I kind of hated her because Ryder was the loveable guy who seemed to have his heart shattered. Now that I have her back story, I understand why she did it and don't know if I could have survived what she did. My heart did break for her with leaning about her past.
Ryder and Jordyn are two soulmates who have been through hell and back. Imagine having the woman that you love leave you without a word, just disappear only to come back two years later and wants to see you. This is exactly what happened to Ryder. HE wants answers so he agrees to a meeting. My jaw dropped when I found out why Jordyn left. I had a hard time with Ryder being so forgiving but when the heart wants something, at times nothing else matters. I did love how he was determined to make sure that she and his family were safe and nothing was going to stop him from achieving that. The icing on the cake was how the Kincaid clan, family and the ones married into the family, were there for the two of them.
Although this book is a standalone, I highly recommend that you start with the first book in the series, Stay Over, as you will get the background into how the Kincaid men love.
