After a bit of a break from Native American romances, I must say that this was a good book to come back to for the genre! Yet another satisfying read by Cassie Edwards, and this time for a book that...honestly, I wasn't expecting that much for.

Our heroine is Maria, a Spanish lady and daughter of a slave owner in New Mexico. Her father takes Navaho people as slaves as well, including from the specific stronghold of the hero, Shadow. Maria herself is in love with Shadow, and he likewise can't get her out of his mind when he sees her. Thus begins there romance, with ups and downs and challenges, and boy oh boy, a LOT of love scenes!

All in all though, it was just the perfect combination of being sweet and interesting, with good blends of action and romance, and characters that I liked from start to finish. Overall, this is just a book that I really liked that transported me back in time and to New Mexico, and will definitely be a re-read in the future! Cheers to continuing to enjoy this!

Maria Zamora has always felt a attraction to Shadow, the Navajo chief. However her father has forbidden her from ever speaking him or seeing him. But when she overhears a angry argument between her father and Shadow, she is caught and end up meeting him, and knows that she will never be the same again. But then she ends up becoming his prisoner, for revenge against her father. But after she spends some time with Shadow, she finds out some truths about her father, and comes to the realization that Shadow is in the right, after her father steals Shadow's people and treats them as slaves. Now Maria is Shadow's love slave, and finds such sweet passion in his arms, and a love so great that she would sacrifice anything to be with Shadow and share his life with him. But will their love be enough to heal all past betrayals and wounds.Savage Dream is part of Cassie Edwards Savage Series. Savage Dream is one of my favorite book that I have yet to read from this astounding author. I don't get to read Native American books very often, however when I do I always fall in love with these types of stories. I find that they are tender love stories filled with adventure and passion that could satisfy any romantic heart. I also fell in love with both of these wonderfully portrayed characters. Maria is a young woman that longs for a love that she knows she will find in Shadow's arms, but not knowing that the adventure she will find at his side will be alot more than she would ever imagine. Shadow at first is bent on revenge and justice, however once he takes Maria as his captive, he starts to change, where she becomes the priority in his life. I found the plot to this story to be full of excitement, adventure, passion, and a love so tender it will be a tear to your eye until the very end. So if your looking for a great love story that will keep you on edge and filled with surprises then this is the one for you, Cassie Edwards has definitely written another powerfully written love story.

Ms. Edwards' books vary in quality, but not too much in story. The beautiful white maiden is kidnapped by a Native American chief, and that is the formula used in this story. Maria isn't a complete stranger though, as she has seen said chief several times since her childhood. However, he decides to kidnap her as revenge against her father and to use her as just a love slave.

Maria just accepts this and lets him have her despite the fact that he saw her as nothing more than an object to use for his pleasure just because she finds him so darned hot. Some of the dialogue and lines are awkward and laughable, but that is a mainstay of these Savage novels along with an extremely cliched ending.

I will not be reading any more since all of the Savage books I got were hand me downs and I don't turn down free books. I got about ten of them, and they're all pretty much the same so I'm glad I didn't spend any money on them, and I certainly won't be buying any in the future, there's plenty of better things to read.

Another strange book by Cassie Edwards. First of all, something that pisses me off, not only about this book, but historical romances in general, is when they don't clearly state what year it takes place in, whether before the first chapter, or during it. This book takes place in New Mexico, however I have no idea the year, but if I had to guess, I'd say sometime in the 1840s or 1850s.

This book is basically like any other Cassie Edwards novel. Beautiful white girl gets kidnapped by a Native American chieftain for some reason or another, falls in love almost instantly, and then they're torn a part by either white men or other Natives, in this case, by both. Sex and lame action scenes keep the mindless readers (like myself) entertained. Now, I know I don't have a lot good to say about this book, but I actually enjoyed it a lot, because of all the reasons I stated. I do enjoy tons of sex scenes and cliches. I enjoy insta-love. I enjoy the corny dialogue. It's fun. And, it did make me emotional at some parts.

So yeah. I enjoyed Maria and Shadow's story. Fight me.

The writing wasn't that great and it seemed to be replaying the same scene over and over. Plus, this book was super sexist in that the main character, Maria, was portrayed that she couldn't live without a man, who treated her seriously like a piece of meat. He literally threatened to throw her out on the streets multiple times for no apparent reason throughout the story. But hey, there was lots of sex. So of course that makes up for it.
