***4 Lets Get the Party Started Stars***

Enigmatic billionaire meets girl at random social event where he has a model on his arm.....not a girlfriend, nope....he doesn't do girlfriends. Has this story been told before?

He's going to shower her with gifts, show up where she's at and talk her into a date of some sort. Sound familiar?

There's a crackle of electricity every time they're around each other. It's crazy sexual tension....palpable energy flowing between them. And when they do get together, it's going to be so good....right?

So there you have the formula. Is Carter BBF material....of course he is. He's confident, rich and sexy. Who doesn't want that? But wait, Evangeline isn't some virginal heroine. She's a successful online fashion editor. She sees his game. She allows herself to bathe in a night of indulgence. Does she wait for him to seduce her? Nope! She knows where the night will lead.....so maybe she'll drive him a little crazy first. Getting the job done in a limo....naturally!

And just like that, you've won me over Evangeline!

You can't do much in less than 40 pages, but it was just enough to set the scene, wet the palate and have me asking for more.

★★★★★! Lace series, book 1 of 4. Intense, whirlwind romance with an enigmatic, sexy & controlling billionaire playboy and sizzling sex throughout!

The Lace series was a perfect read for me! It has amazing story-telling, just enough intrigue, a larger-than-life hero and off the charts sex scenes! It consists of 4 parts/novellas that combined make up a 300 page read.

Carter Morgan – he is everything that I love in a hero; He is a beyond gorgeous and sexy, ultra rich and successful, controlling and dominant, entitled and ruthless (with stalker tendencies), untouchable and non-committal playboy alpha male… Well at least until he met Evangeline, of course… This is their story!

Steel & Lace, #1.1 – Carter’s POV. Read after chapter 1:
http://sinfullysexybooks.blogspot.co....

Steel and Lace – Book 1 (might contain spoilers)

Hero: Carter Jonathan Morgan/28 years old/billionaire/CEO-mogul-playboy/brown hair/steel blue eyes
Heroine: Evangeline Austin, “Eva”/26 years old/recent UMASS graduate-fashion website editor/dark brown hair/green eyes

From the moment their eyes met across a crowded room, they are captivated by each other. And so an intense whirlwind romance begins. Strap on your seatbelts! In this book 1 in the series we get to follow Carter and Evangeline during their initial meeting and then through several “chance” encounters culminating in well, you are just going to have to read for yourself! But I can hint that the sex is off the charts throughout this series.

Book 1 is the shortest of the four and it ends with a cliffhanger, but no worries because book 2, 3 and 4 have already been released.

Adriane Leigh is a terrific storyteller and Carter Morgan was beyond perfect. Eva impressed me with her strengths at times and annoyed me other times. I don’t hold that against her though, because it’s so easy for the heroine to get overshadowed when paired with strong alphas.

In book 1 there are a few edits needed such as several days instead of hours that threw off the timeline, but not enough to deduct any points from my overall rating.

QUOTES:
“Carter breaks hearts. Once you fuck him he'll drop you….”

“I hope you aren't fond of these," Carter ripped the delicate lace off of my body and shoved them into the pocket of his pants.”

What the hell was that?! Whew.

Well, basically, it is a short story version of B2U. Another hot, sexy 28 year old millionaire. I mean, now there is enough of them out there, there should be one for me right?!!! Haha. Anyway, it was a good book. I love the B2U and Fifty type books! They are my favorite. I do love the sexy, possessive, hot alpha guy!

A great little read, however, it was way way way too short! It's 6 chapters and took maybe an hour to read. It seemed so short that there really isn't even a plot yet. Maybe that will come into play with the next book? It was just too short for me.

But even in that little bit, there is some good steamy sex. Carter is just yum yum...sex on legs...as Eva's friend refers to him. So, I will be anxiously awaiting for the next book!

SUMMARY (50 words or less)

There is a lot of potential in this story. I felt a connection between the characters, I just didn’t understand it. I need more of Eva and who she is. Carter came close to being stalkerish. But I have a feeling it will be a lot better in book two.

Worse than Fifty Shades and considering it's almost a copy of FSoG it was hell to read. TSTL heroine, stalker alpha male, ex boyfriend who still wants the heroine, best friend who instead of convincing the heroine to get a restraining order against Carter pushes her in his arms.
Is it to much to ask for an original story?
By the way, Eva, excessive drinking is not attractive.

Drinking until your boyfriend/date begs you to stop it's pathetic and disgusting. Men are not looking for a woman to match them drink for drink.

3 "steamy fast" stars

This one was so freakin fast (and i am not referring to the number of pages LOL) that i was actually concerned i would miss out on all the "action."

And there was action, alright.

I havent really seen any of resemblance to neither FSOG or This Man series other than the possesive, demanding alpha and semi-naive, sassy young woman for him to play with as his little sex toy!

Why?

Cause it was so freaking fast, that s why!

There was NO time whatsoever to make their encounters meaningful, well unless you consider a one-night stands meaningful...*shrugs*

but either way the huge speed even made them forget the condom or mentioning any other means of protection, which you very much should since you dont know the man, really, or where his dick got stuck before this little sex-charade.

But, all in all, if you exclude all of the above, it s actually quite entertaining and carefree! *wink*

I might just see if they remember to buy a stash in book 2...lol

Wowser!
This book and the attraction they have is insanely hot, the reader feels it jumping off the page. I know each book and author wants to be rated independent of each other however I am going to compare this one to Bared to You. This book is its own story however due to its short length the reader doesn't get to really know that yet. Evangeline is realistic and her own person which I love. Carter and all his alpha that he is (and remember we only saw a glimpse) is pantie dropping swoon worthy. Yes he is a gazillionaire but Eva has her own career and is her own person. I was amazed at how well the character development is in such a short book. When I turned to the last page I was so bummed I wanted it to be a full length novel and was so sucked in I could have stayed up reading their story all night.
Well done Adriane! Now can you please stop everything and write us the full length novel, oh and we want it by Feb! K? K. ;) Can't wait until book two that comes out in just a week or two woohooo.

My Rating: ❤❤
ACCEPTABLE: The characteristics of a 2 star story include: a passable story but there was some element(s) that kept it from being a good story; and, it won’t make it to my 'read again' pile. I would not easily recommend it to a friend but would not rule out the possibility.
Book Description:
Enigmatic and sexy, Carter Morgan is a wealthy CEO and playboy who keeps a model on his arm and the walls around his heart high. His dangerous good looks and seductive charm gets him whatever he wants— whenever he wants it. That is until he meets Eva.

When Carter locks eyes with smart and spirited fashion editor Eva Austin, sparks fly and worlds collide. He's drawn to her quiet beauty and independent spirit, and she can't deny the overwhelming affect he has on her. Her every instinct tells her to run, but he won't take no for an answer.

They embark on a passionately physical affair and discover that learning to love won't be easy.

Page Count: 36 pages

My Thoughts:
I know this was only a short story but the pace happened at a break neck speed. Across a crowded room they lock eyes and then BAM Carter is suddenly inserting himself into Eva's life -- checking up on her background, showing up where she is, and telling her what she can and can't do. Way too stalkerish! In real life he'd be slapped with a restraining order. But in fiction fantasy land what is Eva doing during all of this? Getting wet panties. *Sigh* The story occurred so fast that there was no build up and not enough time for the reader to determine if they would even like the characters before they ended up doing the horizontal hokey pokey.

The new romance tales à la Fifty Shades of Grey are so common now that the story that the author is trying to convey loses any merit because all people see is Fifty Shades. No, this was not an exact copy and paste of Fifty Shades but the cover image, character names, and character personas -- the domineering billionaire and semi-sophisticate female -- are very...very reminiscent of FSoG.

I will take a read at the second book in the series but sincerely hope that it differentiates itself and has a heartier story line. But a note to the author and/or publisher on the serial format — BAD FORM. Readers want an entire story and not one that is chopped up into tiny (expensive) bits that they have to buy just to get a complete story. The serial method is a sure fire way to lose reader loyalty. By the time the series is over readers will have paid almost $10.00 for a 260-ish page book -- especially a book that is a near archetype of another (non-serial) work. Truly, bad form!

Damnnnn!! Carter Morgan is a hot piece of ass!

Woah! Hello cliffhanger? I want more!

I read Steel and Lace in about an hour, but I wish it could have lasted longer. I found myself so drawn into the characters that when it ended, I was quite sad! I know that the author has a second book to be released, so I am now eagerly awaiting the second part of this series.

The ending to Steel and Lace was quite sharp, however I can see why it was done in that way. Eva wakes up and feels alone, the book then ends and we too feel alone! I liked it!

Carter Morgan is a young, flashy billionaire... Obviously! He strikes me as a combination of my beloved Christian and Gideon - Calm yourselves ladies ;)

Four star rating from me, although had it of been a little longer, it would have definately got five!

Fifty and B2U fans, pick this up!! :D

I liked it, nothing I expected, must admit. I am a huge fan of Crossfire series and it kind of reminded me of it . We have a young, sexy CEO and a beautiful young woman which he notices and of course must have. And he does and it's oh so hot!
There are 4 books in the series. It was very short one so there's not much revealed yet but I'm predicting something mysterious in the next installments. Anyway if you are Gideon's girl than you should check this one. So I'm off to the second one.
And that's my Carter Morgan:

WARNING: HE IS EVERYWHERE. AND IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE AN AVERAGE BORING GIRL WITH NO PERSONALITY, THEN I SUGGEST YOU HIDE. HE. IS. OUT. TO. GET. YOU!
(Unless you want him too, then by all means, you go girlfriend! Best wishes!)

Do I have to spell this one out? Enigmatic. Sexy. Billionaire. Possessive. Caveman. Fairy that sparkles in the sun.

Guys, you don't remember? Oh c'mon! He is practically the brooding leading man in almost all of the adult fiction books out there.

It's none other than.. don't interrupt me while I'm making introductio...

Wait, did you just say Christian? I mean, Christian who? I'm talking about Fabio.

See? FABIO!

Or maybe not.

OF COURSE it's Christian Grey!

I'm talking about Christian Grey. Unless you consider EDWARD CULLEN or Stephenie Meyer's boo whose name also happens to be, you guessed it, CHRISTIAN. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME!

But who am I to judge? Since,

Uhm, that goes to you fictional heroes with tortured souls and dark secrets. Stop including us in your misery!

I don't know, maybe some people are just alike? Maybe Carter and Christian are just two of the bazillioplet babies that E.L. James gestated in a petri dish. Bazillioplet! You know, as in triplets but in this case, it's bazillion so bazillioplets. And yeah, it's a word. At least, I demand it to be.

Wait a second!

Ssshhh...

I'm picking up a signal here.

Someone wants to talk to Mr. Carter Morgan:

So I guess it's settled then. You, Mr. Morgan are not you. And you are definitely not Christian Grey.

You are Arnold freakin' Schwarzenasdfghjkl!

UNHOLY UNICORN, WHAT IS THIS? THIS AIN'T A REVIEW!

Sorry if I didn't go over the plot but the blurb is pretty much it. I have nothing to add. There is nothing new here so move along kids, there is not much to see!

I gave this book 3 stars 'cause I think (before anything else, I can't 100% say this is reliable considering I just did a shot) I liked Carter a wee bit better than Christian (despite the similarities). And correct me if I'm wrong but this doesn't have BDSM stuff, so major plus plus points if you ask me. I'm okay with BDSM elements. I can tolerate it but it is definitely not my cup of tea. This one is shorter than a hobbit. I don't really go for this genre. I only read this book because it's free and the fact that it's short makes it a lot more appealing to me. Lastly, I gave this book 3 lacey (I swear, that sounded much cooler in my head) stars 'cause today is January 1. Yaaay! This is my first book this 2014 and

...at least for this whole day so. The succeeding books might be unlucky though.

A definite FSoG and BtY knock off, but well written and enjoyable.

This review is for "books" 1-4. Four short novellas that could easily have been issued as one complete story. There was no reason to issue as four separate installments - at least from a reader's point of view.

Despite the knock off story line, there was enough originality to make the "novels" worth reading, but I felt that the author missed with Carter. I understood he had issues, but found no real clue as to why he had those issues. His back story was almost completely lacking. I don't know why he felt everyone he loved would leave him. Despite a crummy dad, he grew up with a loving family. That really bothered me.

I hope to see something more original from this author as I think she has the skill to pull it off.

Got to love these novella's. Wow to live the life of these lucky females, getting swept off their feet by hansome sexy prince charmings. Carter is exactly that & he is sweeping Eva very fast. It wouldn't be a story to be told if there wasn't some jealous biatch hanging around trying to warn the new object of affection.

I think we all secretly want to be able to win over someone like this, as most of us earthlings have been treated like trash by soemone at soemtime in our lives.

Can't wait for the next part to this very short but hot tale, oh Carter & Eva, another love story to put up there with the best.

I read this short novella in conjunction with its sequel Whiskey and Lace, and together I really enjoyed the story and am awaiting the third installment. As a stand alone, I would probably rate this three stars due to its brevity, but the writing is sharp and it flows well. The second part picks up immediately where Steel and Lace left off and is double the length, providing more background detail. While there are similarities in the Lace series to some other recently popular series, I still enjoyed the experience of reading about Carter and Eva and recommend Adriane Leigh as a new author worth checking out.

I got this book for free in return I give it a review. Love the book but a very short read I might add. Book was definitely predictable but I love these type of books. So, if you like FSOG, Bared to You, or In Flight, then you would like this book. Trust Me! I do love a hot, sexy, alpha male, possessive guy.
Book definitely leaves you in a cliffhanger, which leaves you wanting more. Looking forward for the second installment of the series. Hopefully, a little bit longer.

I read this book in less than an hour. Although it reminded me of FSG and BTY it was predictable but still a good read. I loved Carter possessiveness; he is so bossy. Nothing else went between them apart from sex so I´ll be waiting for the second installment to find out how this story ends. I hate ms Snow by the way :P

This short story is hard to rate because it's literally the first six chapters of a book; the following chapters are scheduled to be published January 2013. Due to this it's an extreme cliff hanger. With that said, it left me craving more. I gave the book 3.5 stars because there are too many unknown details. I feel Steel and Lace (book 1) and Whiskey and Lace (book 2), combined, may be a great story, but at this point I am left unfulfilled. As an avid reader it's hard for me to read a small portion of a story, read other books, and then return and proceed where I left off.

The characters thus far are magnetic. Carter Morgan, the exceptionally hot billionaire/CEO is too familiar with getting what he wants; and he's good at getting it! Eva Austin seems to be a charismatic character, even tempered, and prefers to control her own destiny (again the book is short, so the characters have not been fully developed). Carter, who is known to favor models, swoops in and targets Eva, a fashion editor. Carter's possessive and controlled persona makes Eva unquestionably apprehensive and shy. Will she dive in head first to Carter's seduction? ...only the author knows, the book ended. Someone please grant me patience.

This book reminds me of Fifty Shades, Bared to You, and Knight; all these books are superb. The Lace series may be a good contender to these, but it's impossible to confirm this assumption until the remaining books are published.

Downloaded this book for free today at Amazon. Is a very short, erotica novella that features a young, billionaire business man and a 26-year-old online, fashion magazine editor. They have enough chemistry with one another capable of scorching the entire New York City in one single sweep.

I like the actual plot of the story, unfortunately is too short and rushed that there is no time for the characters to develop and in the end I really couldn’t care much for them.

Also, I don’t look at grammar when I’m reading for pleasure, but sometimes some errors just jump off the page. For example, right at the beginning of the story:
Cate swiped two glasses of champagne from a waiter that was passing by and our eyes scanned the room accessing the crowd. (Kindle Locations 15-16)
The emphasis is mine. I’m guessing that the girls were assessing the crowd. Then, almost three quarters into the story:
I nodded to each of them with a smile, and began fidgeting with my hands under the table. Carter noticed, and took his warm hand in mind, holding it in his lap. (Kindle Locations 333-334)
First time I read of a man capable of holding his mind on his lap, now that's a trick worth seeing. There really are not that many errors, but the few that are, are a bit obvious.

In all, I wish the story had been longer. I don’t mind a steamy erotica story, but I like them with a little bit more plot to them.

I feel unfulfilled. I feel like something was missing from this story.

Like I told the author the ending felt very abrupt. I get her need to leave the readers feeling the same way as Eva but I just thought we needed some type of a small resolution. Eva wanted a one night stand, I think she should have gotten something to that extent with all the angst that comes with that. I know she wants more and I can see that's what Clark's got up his sleeve but alas we were cut off short.

I think Eva and Clark have something there but with short stories things always feel rushed. I'm glad to hear there will be a book 2. Clark seems to have catty women after him so I'm hoping there will be some bitchiness thats ensues in the next book.

3.5 to 4 stars

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

If you loved FSOG and the Crossfire series this is the new series for you. In this first book we meet Carter Morgan wealthy CEO and bachelor who you can't tie down until he meets the gorgeous Eva Austin who he is instantly taken with. Steel and Lace leaves you wanting more as it is a little bit too short for my liking and it abruptly ended but I hear book two is longer. Carter is definitely sexy but very full on and maybe a bit on the creepy side in his chase to win Eva. Book two is out in January 2013.

I was pulled into the story from the very first sentence. There is a simple plot--the meeting and instant attraction between Carter Morgan and Eva Austin. The author does a great job of creating a very tangible chemistry between the two. The only downside for me is how the story ended. As someone stated previously, it is just merely the ending of a chapter not a cliff hanger or anything like that.

****As a side note: Personally, I am not a fan of this new way of producing books as a few chapters and passing them off as novellas. As a reader it makes me feel cheated. But I digress.

I did enjoy this short installment and am very interested in the future follow-up books.

This was the shortest book I have ever read. When i read the description, I was expecting this really great page turner but instead it was just ehh. You don't get to connect with the characters because you don't really learn anything about them. On top of that, it is very oddly written and you question why the characters are doing the things they do because it just doesn't make sense. Needless to say, i was thoroughly disappointed. ...I will read the rest of the series to see if it gets better but that's the only reason why I will continue reading these books. Maybe, hopefully, by the end of the series there will be enough to make a full page turning book. One can only hope.

Ok, so this genre has been beaten to death... The sexy, charismatic billionaire tycoon who looks like a male model falls for the young, naive, totally unaware of her own beauty girl/woman. In this version we have Carter and Evangeline. Carter lavishes her with expensive gifts and becomes extremely controlling very quickly.

If you like this genre, you will like this novella. It was very quick but I think that was the way it was meant to be. Things moved VERY fast. It was a nice little erotic romance.

Ok, this is a hard one!! I did actually enjoy reading this Novella, it is well written and could have been a 5* from me if only it had been longer!! The 6 chapters take you straight into the story line. Eva and Carter good characters, (well Carter is the controlling Alpha Male...more towards tipping the scales as a stalker) but still that is what makes this book sizzling hot between the two characters!!
Before i new it had ended, so have swiftly moved on to book 2....!!

This is a short story, very quick to read. I wish it had been longer so the characters could have been more developed. I felt the ending was rushed - in fact I was wondering if there were pages missing.

I liked what I read and look forward to the next book. I do have to say though that I don't really like short stories and hope that the next one is longer.

This book is a quick story that combines Christian Grey and Gideon Cross. I would have enjoyed the story even more if it was longer, but again this is a quickie with a "Man that is sex on legs"!! I will make sure to look for the second installment in the series, as I enjoy it for what offered.
