I really enjoyed reading this book because it's a very informational book about the presidents of the United States. I like how it overviews each president and how I could understand it really well. Each chapter is very informational about that certain president and it talks about their background and process of their election. I also really liked how the book opens up with the process of a president and the duties of a president in office. I would recommend this book for smaller children because it doesn't go as thoroughly since smaller kids wouldn't understand it as much. Overall I enjoyed how it explained every president in a brief overview which was not too long. I liked the pace of the book because you could understand everything very clearly and you won't forget what your reading.

c. This book is about the process of the election, important things about being president, and a short summary of all the presidents up to George W. Bush. It also shows all the electoral votes of each state and how voting works. This book also covers campaigning, the debates, the different parties, the primaries, and who can be president. George Washington was the first president. People wanted him to keep running the country but they had just got out of Europe and a king so he did not want to become a king. George W. Bush is the most recent ex-president. He was the son of George H. W. Bush who was also president. At first, George had fewer votes than his opponent but after five weeks of controversy, Bush came up on top. There are also all of the other presidents' summaries except for Barack Obama.
d. I liked this book because it has information of all of the presidents and not just one which means you don't have to read more than 40 different books to get information about the presidents. Also, it gives you information about the process of becoming and being president.

Recommended for gr. 5-9, or anyone who wants accessible brief bios of all of the U.S. Presidents from George Washington through Barack Obama. The book opens with a description of the process of electing a president and the duties of a president in office. Short chapters follow with a brief biography of each president including birth and death dates, dates in office and interesting facts about him. Each chapter also includes a brief timeline of historical events that occurred during his time in office. Interesting reading although not much detail (by design).

Published in 1981 so it ends with Reagon's presidency. That makes a few facts like John Quincy Adams, son of John Adams the only father/son to both hold the presidency inaccurate since George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush came later. Short bios from 2-4 pages on all presidents. A mix of historical facts about their legacy as well as a mix of informal trivia about the presidents to keep it interesting.

Really hard to rate this book, it is written for kids in elementary school and just overviews each president's term breifly. I am on a major kick right now after watching "The Presidents" series on the History channel. I know, I am becoming such a dork! But, this book gives a great background of the presidents and is good for a quick reference.

A good intro to the American presidents. I found myself continuing to read after my son fell asleep. The author's style got a bit monotonous but he is writing for a young audience. I learned a lot from thsi book (did you know Grover Cleveland was the only President who was a police officer before taking office?)

Fun little book of Presidential stories and trivia. Unfortunately, it's not particularly accurate. At least two fictional stories are presented as fact, and several events are listed in the wrong president's terms.

No estoy segura de por qué, pero me gusta mucho leer este tipo de libros, los encuentro interesantes, supongo. Este en particular, me hizo descubrir que George Washington y yo compartimos fecha de cumpleaños. :)

This was a really good book about presidents. I learned some information that I did not already know. I think this would be a great non-fiction text to have in my classroom library to help promote reading and more importantly reduce the "Non-Fiction Fear" that some students have.

I learned about what Presidents did before they were elected to be President. Many served as officers in the military. Many went to Ivy League schools.
