Verbally mystifying this untold love story expands the reaches and possibilities of the written word with new and exciting layers of storytelling. A relationship both forbidden and illicit comes this cautionary heart-throb about two daring and naive lovers who follow their hearts despite their fear of becoming outcasts. Lyrically bending the imagination with life-like beauty ARABALA is the kind of love story that you wish someone would finally tell. Visually stimulating and texturally rich this beautiful and brutal labyrinth of love effortlessly expresses a wild vivaciousness. Extremely intelligent with lyrical prose that read like a meditation this rebellious love is bedeviling and bewitching. An excruciatingly cruel and absolutely perfect torment teeming with angst and taut with every convincing fear that is close to the heart. "Time then stands still in one swelling moment as my curiosity draws me to be ever so still in thought. The indistinct sound that she makes stops my heart leaving these eyes that hold her climbing up in desperation to remember where I am. She is the first ever to seduce me, like a warm powerful melody, and with an absolute fascination. Conservatively sitting down behind the door reading I make note of the incredible lines that veer beyond the vantage of what beauty I can absorb. As if having stumbled upon an undiscovered passage at the center of nature’s secret that has led me to wonder. A woman if whose flaws were to unveil would only make her even more distinctly unique with beauty. Her ivory-colored complexion bears the brilliance of champagne balanced by a hint of ochre. Ringlets of black thread and pearl also lay gracefully alongside her charming features. Her lips look as if they speak of love often but only to herself. Her style and elegance and posture display the pure determination that she has made clear in her mind. The slight indent on the bridge of her adorable nose complements her slender face and endearing qualities. Her elegance alone surpasses any expression that I have ever before encountered. There she sits in long black dress pants with the perfect crease down the front. Her small feet showing through her black sandal-like heels that wrap around her thin ankles. Her pants waistline reaching up passed her hips secured by a leather belt and designer buckle. She wearing her grey-collared dress shirt tucked in, allowing only me to make note of those lines that press firmly and loosely against her body. Trying to pretend that she has not gathered my attention I attempt to turn my head without saying anything to her. Not even a smile. But in that same moment that she raises her head to look at me I can do nothing but stare right back. Seeing that she is used to the ridiculous lust of delusional roosters who can hardly love themselves––let alone know how to love a woman with absolute and unconditional favor. Watching her look up at me she questions the beauty that most men believe her to possess with an almost displeased notion of herself. Her eyes seem to almost deepen with a sorrow that only I feel impelled to acknowledge. It is her second take of me that gives her away and it is her argument of self that moves me with a determination to reveal within her all that causes me to marvel. I feel anxious to know her and anxious to explain to this beauteous creature why there is no need to question. For the first time in my life I feel the strongest desire in my heart to give this one woman the one true peace that I have only now found. Silly I know. Only in the eyes of such grace whose heart longs for those answers do I now feel relinquished to impart. Her haunting eyes seem to climb inside of my body where my soul can rest no more. It is her faint smile that lifts me up and tears me down. It is this feeling that I now consider to be that great mystery––even that mystery worth knowing and loving for as long as my body gives me breath."

Explicitly sensual and verbally mystifying this untold love story expands the reaches and possibilities of the written word with new and exciting layers of storytelling. A relationship both forbidden and illicit comes this cautionary heart-throb about two daring and naive lovers who follow their hearts despite their fear of becoming outcasts. Sexually powerful and lyrically bending the imagination with life-like beauty ARABALA is the kind of love story that you wish someone would finally tell. Visually stimulating and texturally rich this beautiful and brutal labyrinth of love effortlessly expresses a wild and sensual vivaciousness. Extremely intelligent with lyrical prose that read like a meditation this aphrodisiacal tale and rebellious love is bedeviling and bewitching. An excruciatingly cruel and absolutely perfect torment teeming with angst and taut with every convincing fear that is close to the heart.

Arabala traditionally means beautiful or graceful. But the author in this case chose the title for this book for its deeper play on words and because of his etymological love for visual symmetry. Right away you see the words “Arab” and “Allah” in the title name, if divided, as these two lovers are. You see “Arab” or Arabian “God” or “Goddess.” “Bala” means divine, similar to how “Bella” in Italian means beautiful. Bala means “youth,” “aphrodisiac,” and is associated with the ancient Hindu Goddess of beauty and grace. You definitely better understand after reading Arabala from cover to cover. Bala is a Sanskrit word that also means “young,” “powerful,” and “strength of mind.” In Arabic, Bala can also mean “trials,” “distress,” “catastrophic,” and “adversity.” The black Egyptian asp woven into the ram skull represents the divine feminine in both main characters. The snake in the garden of Eden is Sophia––holy female wisdom. The black Asp is the feminine yin. The white Capricorn skull is the masculine yang and the month of December when the two main characters reunite and when Lucius dies. But Lucius is reborn and still alive like the sun, reborn on the path of the ecliptic, at the same time of year that the sun is reborn. The ram and snake both symbolize the word “transformation”––the sexual alchemical dance of lovers. The dried haidemorala roses on the cover symbolize decomposition, autumn, and Lucius’s death. Mahru means “face of the moon.” Lucius’s name means “light” or “sun.” And every year at the winter solstice the sun dies just as Lucius dies. Skull and snake is death because transformation requires death. And the ring is symbolic of the conflict that ensues when the inability to follow your heart and listen to your higher self is refused. Death symbolic of being unconscious with conflict.

Arabala is a standalone novel completed in the year 2023 by the reclusive author Luca Evola. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, January 27th 1988, in the Chinese year of the dragon, Luca has always had a gift for drawing, painting, and writing from the time that he was five years old. Not much else is known about the author at this time, as he seeks to remain an illusive figure like Salinger and Ferrante. It took about four and a half years for Arabala to become complete, and its first draft was completed in 2014. In 2019, after moving to the western United States, the author continued to work on Arabala for another two and a half years. The title script, Arabala, was hand drawn by the author, as well as the lion and female figure inside of the front cover. The black vipera aspis on the cover was first sculpted by the artist Jared Balibrea (7thGolem) before it later became illustrated to fit the cover. Those closest to the author are, with respect and kindness, adamant about keeping his privacy and anonymity. And writing several books has never been a focus for this particular author. Only ever the focus of sharing what he believes was a most beautiful moment captured from his early youth. A story never to be forgotten, one that no one

DNR-I won this book on goodreads and struggled to get through the first two chapters due to the awkward dialogue and grammar concerns. I think the premise is interesting but the overall story needs some edits.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and appreciate the opportunity to read it. Here is my review: Arabala is an intense love story told through prose and vocabulary that may go over most people's heads. If you can concentrate on it and re-read some of the lines, they are quite beautiful. Just when I thought Mr. Evola could not describe making love again, he does it over and over again in different ways. There in lies the problem, it was a little repetitive in their love making and obsession with one another, but I really appreciate how he describes how all consuming some things can be in life when there is depth and passion behind them. Also, how scary it can be when someone cannot function due to how all consuming a love can feel (like there is no life without it). One thing I love that this book touches on is the problem that some people face when different cultures intermingle and how tradition and mindsets can cause such conflict in these relationships. This is a challenge that many Middle Eastern women face when moving West and intermingling with other cultures, thus making it a challenge for those, like Lucius, the main character to have to accept as well. I even worked with a girl once who was in this exact scenario. One of my favorite moments in the book is when his Uncle was addressing this topic and talking about different people and countries around the world and how each border to the next is complaining about their neighboring countries, but in reality we are all the same and want the same things. With all of this said, it took me a very long time to read this due to the verbage. The insta-love was a little much but I do understand how some people can have an intense connection with someone quite quickly. For me, I still wish I understood the title and the cover because I don't, but that could just be me missing it and over my head. I think this author is highly intelligent and a true deep thinker who can write in a poetic and beautifully descriptive way that unfortunately may be very difficult for some readers.

Arabala is the perfect forbidden love story! There is so much emotion and passion in the writing with such detail, there is never a doubt about what is going on in the story! I love that this book is in the males perspective, I feel like it’s very rare that we get a males perspective on a romance novel. There is so much research and facts put into this book you can tell the author put so much time and effort to perfect this amazing novel! I love the woman’s personality. I feel like In most books the women always have the same personality that are very dismissive, almost allowing you to predict everything making me not even wanting to finish the book! But not with this book! It’s never predictable and always kept me on edge wanting to read more and more! This book is super affordable and worth every penny and should definitely be on your reading list. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance! 100% going to be reading this book again and again!

Sensually Captivating and Stimulating!!
This is one of the best romance-erotica novels I have read I QUITE some time. Very well written and such a great magical and sensual read! The story Is very captivating- as I just could not put it down until I had finished it! The story line to takes the imagination into a mystical and fantasy land of pure love, obsession, desire and devotion. Loved everything about this book! I absolutely cannot wait until the author comes out with another book. Maybe a sequel? In the end I was left quenching for more. I feel this book is one of the best romance novels I have ever read. The story and the characters in it are engaging and very interesting. A very well thought out Love Story. One in which we are glad someone would finally tell…Waiting with bated breath for the sequel!!

Won this in a Goodreads giveaway.
What sucked me in was the gorgeous cover.
The way the author used his words was beautiful, the ending was what solidified the 4 ⭐. The middle was hard for me but I read some reviews that said the ending was worth it and I'm so glad I listened.
Deff will be checking out their other work!!

On the first page, I knew Arabala was written over my head. First, there were GLAUCOUS clouds and in the second paragraph, the redbud trees were THULIAN pink. I'm familiar with the color of the buds on redbud trees so I didn't have to look up that meaning, but Glaucous??? If you're a lover of copious graphic sex scenes that go on for pages, Arabala was written for you! DNF

I usually finish a book in 1 or 2 sittings. This took 38. The bad spelling, grammar and punctuation are very distracting. The use of obscure verbiage and made-up words is a YAWN, and neither evocative nor erotic. The main character's rambling inanities sound like he is in a psilocybin induced fog of obsession, not love. It appears that Mr. Evola is self-marketing his book. Perhaps he just wants to create a dialog. Hmmm. Star-cossed lovers have been done, done and overdone.

DNF- I won this book through the giveaways here, and it didn't have a summary on the giveaway page. I thought, because of the cover, that it would be horror genre. It's not, it's a love story. It's super slow and I really couldn't get into it, it's grammer and just the purple prose was so hard to wade through. I think a lot of people would like it, it's just not my thing.

I admit I had a bit of a hard time getting into book as it is not my usual genre of choice; however it is a beautifully written book.

The story has such beautiful plots and twists and vivid imagery.

Allow a long full day for this steamy erotic forbidden romance set in Shaughnessy, British Columbia where 21-year-old American Lucius Korbin falls for 21-year-old Egyptian Mahru. I won a Giveaway copy and this is my voluntary review.

I try my best to give a book 100 pages before I decide not to finish it. This is an exception. 30 pages in I just couldn't keep going. It is incredibly wordy. 3 pages to say they had sex! #goodreadsgiveaway

I made it almost halfway through and had to give up. Many chapters with the same sex scene. The very poetic description was interesting once but not repeatedly. There was the possibility of a good plot but it was taking to long to get there.

I won this book on Goodreads, and I struggled with the story having too many words and it was very repetitive. I did, however, enjoy the actual storyline. I was able to skim through to the end which was both very worth it and disappointing at the same time.

Intense and Poetic. One man's true account and journey into infatuation, passion, and devotion towards forbidden love... ends in obsession and tragedy.

I’m was a really great story!! My only issue is the descriptive words were a bit much and I’m okay with sex scenes, but sometimes they go at it for like an entire chapter.

The print is so small it makes it a struggle to read. The unnecessary verbiage and jumping around also make it hard to read. It's obvious that a lot of work went into this but it's overdone.

I tried, idk if it was the writing style or the ongoing eccentric prose but I just couldn’t get into it.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review...

A eulogy of love’s encomium merriment in panegyric poetry. Ineffability penetrated by language to convey the trenches of obeisance to sensual love. The immediate hunger of devotion, purified by trust forged on tender curiosity is rife with expectation. The laudation, a richly layered cake of metrical rapture reaches beyond liminal exchange exploring every meaning our bodies can achieve with grace and consideration. Everyone should be loved in this way, make love in this way, and dance with the freedom of convergence that is uniquely met between two honest souls. The polyphony of words imbues the impetus of the primeval act with the allure of an everlasting primal embrace, often, otherwise trapped in the moment of desire, spun out like a web to capture the intrigue of intention. To acquiesce to the heart’s desire contra cultural and familial obligations is the character arch of recent history. Does our heroine carry the splendor to brave choices?
