Miss Bridget Wynch unknowingly threatens Lord Landon’s hidden past, forcing him to decide between love and the truth that could tear them apart.
Miss Bridget Wynch is quite sure she is in love with Lord Landon, believing him to be the most excellent of gentlemen – for he has just donated a large sum to an orphanage where she offers some of her time. Bridget is hopeful that, very soon, he will consider her and their connection will only deepen from there. When her friends encourage her to use ‘The London Ledger’ to make certain of his intentions, Bridget is reluctant to do so but does so in the end.
Heath, the Earl of Landon, has long been hiding a secret, attempting to do good to make up for his guilt. When a threat is thrown at him, he is then horrified to see something about his past printed in ‘The London Ledger’ – something a little too close to the truth. Determined to find out who has written such a thing, he finds himself in the path of a young lady he recognizes…a young lady who continually catches his attention in more ways than one.
When Miss Wynch is put in danger because of their connection, Heath must decide between telling her the truth or ending their closeness altogether. What will he decide? Will her belief in his good character be enough to sustain them?
This is Book 2 in the Only for Love series, where a group of young ladies make a pact with each other that they will marry only for love, despite pressure from their parents and society to make a convenient match. It can be read as a standalone story, is clean and wholesome, and suitable for all ages. Get your copy today!
Rose has read her way through countless romances over the years, “borrowing” them from her older sisters, and hiding them from her mother.
She has a special love for Regency romances and when she began writing, the Regency period was a natural place to start. The ton, the wealthy families, the Season, the dilemmas, and yes, the marriages, have always fascinated her.
She loves a happy ever after! Now she is happy to bring this passion to her stories and share it with her readers.
On a personal note, Rose lives in North Carolina, is married, and has a terrier that barks too much. She enjoys taking him for walks to tire him out!

The second book in the series & it’s easily read on its own even though characters from the first book do appear. I loved the overlooked Bridget & the guilt ridden Heath, they are attracted to each other but when he’s threatened he decides to not pursue a courtship. However the determined wallflower is the one he's been looking for so he takes a leap of faith & confides in her. A well written book with mystery, secrets & a lovely romance. The villain was horrid & I would have liked them to have been given their just desserts My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
3.5 stars This was an enjoyable read. I did feel for Bridget, neglected by her mother in favour of her older sister. Luckily, she had good friends and Lady Yardley to help her. Bridget gave off her time to help others less fortunate than herself. Heath Northdale, Earl of Landon has decided it’s time for him to choose a bride. However, he has a secret that he is ashamed of, and wonders what would be a bride’s reaction to it. Heath realises that Bridget is unlike the other debutantes and is genuine in her actions. There is someone who is causing problems for Heath and he must try to discover who it is. I must say that I guessed early on who it was, so that took away some of the suspense for me. This had very likeable characters. I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Great main and secondary characters. Loved the honesty between the H/h with each other. Disliked how the h's mom and sister treated her, but she won in the end. I wished there was more interaction when all the dust cleared with the h's family.
The H figures he knows for sure why he is being threatened, but does he? The secret he holds is huge and so many ended up knowing about it. It was very entertaining to discover the H's best friend couldn't keep a secret, especially when he was drunk.
Clean story with only kisses. Romance builds slowly which I liked. This ended at the 88% mark on my ereader, rest teaser for another story.
A villain who I did suspect but wasn't sure until the end. No cheating, no cliffhanger, standalone, HEA, romantic and clean. (ljb)
This is the second book in the Only For Love series by Rose Pearson. Miss Bridget Wynch is falling in love with Lord Landon. She cannot find anything wrong with his character and looks forward to him declaring his intentions. However, Lord Landon has been hiding a secret and when Bridget’s safety is threatened he pulls away. He is afraid to tell her the truth but may not be able to avoid doing so and damn the consequences.
Another intriguing story filled with secrets, misunderstandings, lies, danger and a very surprising villain. I love Rose Pearson’s books because they are balanced with a combination of sweet romance, mystery, and intrigue that keeps you guessing until the last page.

Miss Bridget Wynch is coming out this season! Heath, Lord Landon’s is looking for a bride. But Lord Landon has a secret that can destroy all of his plans to wed! I really liked this regency romance! The characters were amazing and well developed! The villain was especially nasty in her character as well as in her black heart! Lord Landon’s secret was very bad and could effect not only himself but generations to come but his reasons for doing what he did were completely understandable! I loved the drama and intrigue! I highly recommend this book and this author!.

Secrets kept them apart but the truth brought them together. This was an interesting story the heroine is a bit overlooked by her mother so she has a bit more freedom. She uses this to work at an orphanage she has a heart of gold I adored this character. The hero is looking for a wife and when he meets our lady he is taken with her. Yet we have snake and she is deadly. We also have a misunderstanding of just what secrets were causing the problems. It has some great twists and I liked how two brothers came to a meeting of the minds. It is a book I am happy to recommend it was a joy to read. Miss Bridget is ready to stand in the background for another season. Her sister gets all the attention from her mother but she is alright with that. Lord Landon is looking for a bride, but he does not want the usual type of Lady. He wants someone who has some sense about her. The two accidentally meet and the intrigue starts. Will the past come between the two? This book is another install in the Only for Love series. Rose is an inciteful writer and keeps your interest with the twists and turns of the plot. Great read.

Miss Bridget Wynch is ignored by her family, but her kind and quiet nature is what draws Heath, the Earl of Landon, to appreciate her and her kindness toward others as she helps out the orphanage when she can. But Heath has something in his past he is ashamed of which holds him back from getting involved with her. She puts an article in “The London Ledger” which only makes things worse for him. When Bridget faces harm from someone wanting to keep them apart, Heath must pull away from her to keep her safe. Should he tell her the whole truth? Would it keep her safe? Will they find the HEA they deserve?
A quiet shy person, Miss Bridget Wynch goes unnoticed, but it doesn’t take long for Heath, the Earl of Landon to notice all her great qualities as well as her care for others. For some reason, someone is out to hurt him and he thinks it is his twin brother. He has been hiding a secret and realizes that he needs to bare all to Bridget before their romance can go any further. Sometimes it is the person you least expect that causes all the harm.

“A Lord or a Liar” Only for Love, book 2 by Rose Pearson A Sweet Clean Romance Adventure Yes, I loved this story and I never shed a tear. But I did thoroughly enjoy being a passenger in the adventure as Heath and Bridget meet and navigate their way to true romance. It was a fun adventure, sweet and clean with lots of bumps in the road to HEA. Happy Reading ! ! Note: This review expresses my honest opinion. I received an ARC of this story from the author via BookSprout.
I'm totally enjoying this Regency series and getting to know all the characters. This series about a group of young ladies that became friends and agree to help each other find a love match with the help of one of their aunts. I loved Bridget and Heath's story. It's full of intrigue as well as romance and captivated me from the beginning. I look forward to the other ladies stories.
Is he who he claims he is? Her mother totally ignores her - and focuses on her sister, So when he starts to talk to her, she is sceptical! And yet she likes him . . . .and he seems so like her. But someone is threatening him . . . .and telling her that he is not who he says he is. This is a really good book —- totally enjoyed it. Bridget and her friends had made a pact to only marry for love and to be there for support. Being a wallflower, and an afterthought of her parents, she did not hold much hope. Meeting Landon, the consideration and attention, brought her strength and confidence. Threats from his past gave her doubts but in the end they had peace, happiness, and love.

Miss Bridget Wynch was making her debut to the London Ton though her mother was more engaged with her sister Sophia. Bridget was looking for a man she could fall in love with who is not in the least bit selfish. She met Heath Northdale, Earl of Landon, who was looking for a wife. They met and each thought they had found what they were looking for in the other. Ms. Pearson has written an excellent little book which is very enjoyable to read and I recommend it...
Some people Will stop at nothing to get what they believe is owed to them. Lies that snowballed into more lies and deceit. Wasn't surprised at the guilty party, made perfect sense, especially with their way of thinking or lack thereof. How nice it would be to have friends like Bridget, Heath, Lady Cassendra, Lord Atherton, and Lady Yardley, their support, honesty and forgiveness.
Bridget and Heath Hiding secrets, attempting to do good to ease his guilt, his past threatens appears in The London Ledger. Its not what it appears and danger is near. This amazing story is well written and it flows smoothly from page to page. Must read.

I was hooked from the start of this wonderful book. Bridget has so much personal strength and treats others with kindness. Heath is going through so much, I loved how he treats others.I loved all the twists, surprises, suspense, and excellent characters.

Heath is finally ready to take a bride. Only, someone is working overtime to discredit and cause him trouble…especially with his life interest, the kind and overlooked Miss Bridget Wynch.
There’s a bit of a mystery to prove whether or not Heath is a liar or an honorable man. recommend.
I don’t know if it’s the male POV that threw me off but this was a hard book to read. It seems like everyone’s a Lord here but those out in London don’t know each other. Which is weird. Also they seem to be too touchy feely for this genre. Hand-touching while in a ball — while sitting down? Not period-accurate at all.
This was a fun, intriguing story. I always enjoy the friendships and camaraderie between the characters in Ms Pearson’s books, and how good should always triumph.

A great story that had a little different at the characters and their flaws. Whether one was a liar or not. Whether he had good character or not for Bridget.

I enjoyed this book. It was a sweet, clean Regency read. It was well-written and maybe my favourite in the series. A nice series about friends making a pact to only marry for love. Will they all find love?
