Rate this book

Too bad he took all three with him when he hightailed it out
of town three years ago.

Now Ben's back, and Eden's bracing herself. First, for his
assault on her libido. And second, for his reaction to
BennettWildersucks.com, the Web site she and Ben's
other ex-girlfriends put together to humiliate him. Only, one woman's going too far....

Now Eden has to deal with a stalker and her overwhelming
lust. She needs to get Ben out of her system, for good
this time! And offering Ben her protection might just be

Okay, if you can get through the pages upon pages of Eden and Ben mentally reminiscing or fawning over the sex appeal of each other, it's a decent read.

I'm really not kidding about the excessive amount of time spent on Eden thinking about every - single - freaking - thing about Ben that she finds attractive. And it always happens like, in the middle of a phone call or something.

"So what do you think we should do? Are you going to tell him?"
( Insert 5 pages of why talking to Ben is horrifying and would somehow risk her heart again. )
"Uh, hello?"
"Oh, um, I think you should do it."

But 5 pages is nothing compared to the repeated infodumps of "he's so dreamy because..." nonsense. We're talking 12 pages. Eden tells us over and over again why she's attracted to Ben and it got repetitive. The exact same phrase, albeit a good one, was used in multiple sex scenes and it's placement made it stand out like a sore thumb.

Honestly, this book could have been a lot shorter and that would have made the story much more enjoyable. I was dragging through this book trying to find the meat of the story and that negative feeling I'm left with from trudging along might not do the story proper justice. So I really liked the story, but slimming it down so that we don't spend 15 minutes reading about Ben's dreaminess would have made this a 4 star book for me.

I'd recommend this book and encourage readers to skim over Eden's mental diarrhea.

This turned out to be a very pleasant read. I was intrigued right from the first page when we learn of a website called BennettWilderSucks.com and the women who have been wronged (supposedly) by Bennett Wilder. They've spent a lot of time complaining about him, but now the website has really turned into a women's group that discusses lots of other things besides him. When he returns to town, however, most of the women renew their hatred of him, wanting to get back at him and make his life miserable. I kept thinking...really? Grow up and move on. But there are a couple of women who can't seem to let it go. One even goes so far as to act like a Stalker, dropping scary notes at his house and his car. So Eden, a police officer and his former love, agrees to help him despite her better judgment. Not only that, but she also falls for him again, recognizing that he is her kryptonite and she just can't resist. There's a bit of action and plenty of romance, with a satisfying ending. Although the ending did feel a little rushed (like the author had to stick to a certain number of pages), all the open issues were resolved, and I was happy with the results. Quick and easy read.

I liked this story, though I found the mystery a little obvious. There were some funny moments, as well as some sweet ones. Conflict between H&h is not drawn out - which I appreciate. Overall, a good story.

HRB#322. Eden Rutherford can't seem to keep her wits (not to mention her clothes) about her when she is confronted with Bennett Wilder. After the second time he dumps her, she starts BennettWilderSucks.com and starts the ex-girlfriends club. When someone starts posting on the site serious threats, she has to step in to protect the man who is going to hurt her again. I didn't believe a word of it. Didn't really like any of the characters. Didn't even like the sex much. Not the best effort. (3/10)

The Ex-Girlfriends' Club was a good read on the romantic level, though the erotic scenes were scarce. I truly enjoyed her 'Men Out of Uniform' books: The Maverick, The Specialist and The Loner, which I rated with 5, another 5 and a 4.5 stars (out of 5). Compared to them this title is a bit of a disappointment. But since the story was still okay and the hero and heroin were very likeable I'll rate it with 3 stars.

Some lessons are harder to grasp than others... especially when the heart is involved. The phrase "you have no say in who your heart will fall in love with" comes to mind. 4.5 stars
