Why don't more people know about this poet? Because, I suspect, that Miller is much more of a realist than the academic poets we are mostly exposed to. Well, expose yourself to art for a change. There's grit in these words. It's not necessarily pretty. In fact, some of it is downright raw. Poetry must hit the senses and Miller does but not in the conventional manner. Perhaps the most powerful poem here is an anti-smoking poem called "asshole you'll suck my tobacco dick". It ain't pretty but it's haunting and formidable.
Books by Miller aren't easy to find. Find one. Give this guy some of the credit he deserves.
