Ugh. So sick of this crap. (Note: I'm not saying I hate the books. I've read all three and I love the witchy parts. Also if you think of our junk DNA as sleepers cells that can be woken at any time under the right circumstances then you start to get the idea. When a Witch made a child with a Daemon they produce a new species or one with subtle differences and as such new or different abilities. Matthew's human DNA had a sleeper cell that produced blood rage when it was woken by the introduction of Vampire DNA. Hope this helps.(less)
