“Joker” and “Joker: Folie à Deux” cinematographer Lawrence Sher will deliver a keynote address at the SMPTE Media Technology Summit, set to take place in October in Hollywood.

Sher has served as the d.p. on more than 35 feature films, and he is the founder and CEO of ShotDeck, a digital image library widely used for research by industry pros.

Carolyn Giardina, senior entertainment technology and crafts editor at Variety and Variety Intelligence Platform (VIP+), will moderate the conversation with Sher.

Marc Zorn, who heads content protection and production security at Marvel Studios and is co-chair of the Media Technology Summit, said the session will offer attendees a chance to learn from an accomplished cinematographer and business owner.
