In the latest TV show ratings, CBS‘ Fire Country — last TV season’s most-watched, highest-rated freshman series — was Friday’s most-watched program.
With its final-season premiere, CBS’ S.W.A.T. drew 5.12 million total viewers, improving on both its May finale (4.7 mil) and its previous season’s average (5 mil).
Fire Country (with 5.51 million viewers, TVLine reader grade “B+”; read recap) grew vs. its freshman finale but was down a smidgen from its Season 1 average (5.9 mil).
Blue Bloods (5.4 mil) kicked off the first half of its farewell season down from both its May finale and its previous season’s average, copping one of its smallest audiences (but not the smallest) ever.
More to come, including demo numbers and Fox/The CW performance, later this weekend…. (I’m busy catching up on post-TCA, post-Criminal Minds set visit sleep/life.)

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Steve Harvey is not a judge or lawyer and merely offers an alternative forum of dispute resolution.
Has anyone thought to get a paternity test to see if Bode is really the father of Cara’s “ sister”? That would seem the logical step to take in this day and age when there is no such thing as a virgin.
No such thing as a virgin?
Why does Blue bloods look so bad? I remembered it much faster and emotional.
They had four separate stories and they were unusually serious. It’s okay to switch things up once in a while, and this was a terrific episode.
It was bad. Not convincing at all.
Please don’t end swat I’ve been watching from season 1if the views are good this season you should at least keep it going for 2-3 more season or do a even 10 seasons with it then stop. Shemar Moore plays that role very good and shouldn’t stop it
CBS should’ve let East New York run a few seasons, but thanks to Shemar’s crying, it bit the bullet for SWAT getting a final season. Your show is ending; be lucky it got to end and move on.
That should show the network they are making a huge huge mistake but they won’t see it till its to late
I’ll miss it too, but sadly there’s a reason why all previous seasons aren’t on P+ anymore, why some series regulars are now recurring, etc.
We can sit on our phones/computers complaining all we want, but the reality is that we’re not the ones dealing with the financial aspects of the situation.
Love swat and fire country! They should keep swat on a few more seasons since it’s doing do well and a great action packed show!
Will we see the Friday ratings for ABC, NBC and the CW?
Was glad to see all three of these shows premier. I have a couple comments on Fire Country, 1) Bode was up for parole prior to his “confession ” about operating a drug ring. So, why is he simply being returned to Three Rock, now that it’s known he was set up? 2) About that confession. He was blackmailed into making that confession by an over zealous member of the hearing committee who was convinced he was guilty. Shouldn’t she now be facing some kind of legal action for her part in procuring that false confession? And, 3) glas to see Gabriela “moving on”. The character doesn’t deserve Jake or Bode. They both dodged a bullet, for now, at least (just an opinion).
Come on CBS, ABC, NBC & FOX – quit saying you don’t want the money, when your making money hands over fist. Keep these shows that we ARE watching!!
The reason I think have ratings down a bit is because of long distance from the shows because of the strike. All of those shows are awesome but when a great show is cancelled for basically no reason . We the fans get tired of getting involved with those programs we love just to have them cancelled. Why are non of the reality shows and game shows are never cancelled. Why we invest so much into programs when you just drop them? You seriously need to think long and hard before cancelling good shows!
