TVLine Items: Maria Bello Joins Kevin Williamson Series, Sopranos Documentary Trailer and More

Maria Bello The Waterfront
Priscilla Grant/Everett Collection

Maria Bello is settling in on Kevin Williamson’s Waterfront.

The actress — whose credits include Beef, NCIS and ER — has joined Netflix’s forthcoming family drama from the Vampire Diaries exec producer.

Inspired by true events, The Waterfront “dives into the flawed Buckley family as their attempts to retain control of their crumbling North Carolina fishing empire drive them to increasingly dangerous means to keep themselves afloat,” reads the official logline.

Bello’s Mae Buckley is “a complex woman who’s married to Harlan (Holt McCallany) and the mother of their two children. After her husband took a step back from the family business, together with their son, she has been running the fishery in very questionable ways in a desperate attempt to save the family.”
