Cold Case Reboot Not Moving Forward at CBS
The trail has gone cold on a Cold Case reboot, which is no longer in the works at CBS.
According to our sister site Deadline, the Eye Network is not moving forward with a new iteration of its 2003-2010 crime procedural, which was reportedly in the works as of this past April.
Reps for CBS and Warner Bros. Television did not immediately respond to TVLine’s request for comment.
The original Cold Case ran for seven seasons on CBS, following a division of the Philadelphia Police Department that specialized in investigating unsolved criminal cases. Kathryn Morris starred as homicide detective Lilly Rush, with Danny Pino, John Finn, Jeremy Ratchford, Thom Barry and Tracie Thoms rounding out the main ensemble.
Details of CBS’ potential reboot were scarce, but the follow-up would have been set in the Southwest instead of Philadelphia, centering on a new group of detectives dedicated to solving cold cases. Original Cold Case creator Meredith Stiehm was reportedly attached to write the script and serve as an executive producer.

I watch cold case on streaming each Thursday..any reboot without Kathryn and Danny just wouldn’t cut it for me…perfect show, perfect cast

Have always enjoyed Cold Case and the actors who make up the ensemble. They mesh well and are quite talented and believable in their roles. Enjoy the music also. I watched the series when it first began and am now watching the reruns and streaming. Was really looking forward to seeing a reboot. So disappointed!
Cold Case has always been a favorite.
I particularly love the format of the show.
How it starts off in the past, with great music and a death. Then fast forwards to the future.
There is so much garbage on TV, please reconsider a reboot for Cold Case,
In the meantime, I’ll just watch reruns.

I’m disappointed for sure. The original Cold Case was a really good show. The stories were always fresh & the cast was very efficient in each of their rolls. Disappointed 😢

Most reboots suck anyway. They usually just leave the title, character names and setting but the rest is nothing like the original. Most reboots suck and this one probably would have too. They rarely follow the original storyline. Personally, I hate reboots!

Very depressing news! I was looking forward to a reboot of the show. Cold Case was one of the best shows around with a super cast and soundtrack. I am totally 😓 bummed!
