Knicks rookie Tyler Kolek offers look at recent offseason workout

Tyler Kolek has hit the gym extensively this offseason, and the New York Knicks rookie offered a glimpse inside of a recent workout with his trainer at the Ruane Friar Development Center.

Kolek was pictured going through various on-court exercises with player development coach Drew Ferguson at Providence. He has been in the area much of the offseason working on his overall skill set ahead of his rookie campaign with the Knicks.

The 23-year-old has also worked with trainers Chris Brickley and Mike Atkinson at Summit in New York City. The court has hosted several notable players this summer, including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Paolo Banchero, Aaron Gordon and Jaime Jaquez Jr.

Kolek was drafted with the 34th pick by the Knicks after averaging a career-high 15.3 points, 7.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals on 38.8% shooting from 3-point range last season at Marquette. He became one of seven players in program history to be a consensus All-American selection.

The 6-foot-3 guard signed a four-year, $9.09 million contract with the Knicks in July. He will reportedly receive $6.6 million in guaranteed money over the contract, representing the most in history for a second-round pick, topping the previous mark of $6.4 million (Andrew Nembhard).

Kolek debuted with the Knicks in the NBA Summer League, averaging 9.6 points, seven assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals on 35.6% shooting from the field in five games. He produced his best game on July 17 with 21 points, eight assists and four rebounds.
