"They're peaceful people."
―Ezra Bridger[3]

The Noti were an extragalactic, sentient, crustacean-like species native to the planet Peridea, a ringed planet located in the far galaxy, far away from the main galaxy.

Biology and appearance[]

Shorter than 1.7 meters in height,[2] the Noti had grayish-blue carapaces (shells) on their backs, similar to a crab or other shell-forming crustacean; in a manner similar to turtles, the Noti were capable of retracting into their carapace at-will, normally when threatened.[1] Compared to non-sentient crustaceans, the Noti differed primarily due to the fact that they were a bipedal, terrestrial species; the Noti stood on three-toed, stocky feet and had prominent, strong hands resembling pincers or claws, each equipped with two to three digits. Over their bodies was a bluish skin which extended to their tubular eyestalks. Noti typically dressed in simple, rugged clothing beneath their carapi, and did not appear to wear shoes,

Society and culture[]

"Peaceful, fine. You didn't mention defenseless."
"They've survived well enough."
―Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger describe the Noti[3]

The Noti lived in a simple nomadic society on Peridea. They resided in pod-shaped homes that alternatively served as modes of transportation, allowing them to travel the planet's grasslands. These homes could be sealed to provide the Noti with cover and protection, much like the shells on their backs. The Noti were a peaceful species, lacking standard weapons and instead opting for more primitive methods of defense such as slingshots.[3]

History[]

"Wupa! Wupa!"
―Ezra Bridger, rallying the Noti during a chase on Peridea[3]

After the human Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger was self-exiled out of the galaxy, he became stranded on Peridea, where he assimilated into a nomadic village of Noti. One member of the species was encountered by Mandalorian Sabine Wren during the search for Ezra, and—alongside several other Noti hiding nearby—led Wren to their village and, in turn, Bridger.[1]

Bridger traveled with the Noti villagers in their mobile pod-shaped homes to avoid detection from Grand Admiral Thrawn and his remaining Imperial forces, whom Bridger had also driven into exile on Peridea.[1] After Bridger and Wren were reunited, they and the Noti traveled the planet until they were ambushed by Shin Hati and a group of bandits. The Noti assisted Bridger and Wren by using slingshots, and by throwing various objects at the bandits.[3]

Although the bandits were able to damage and immobilize one of the mobile homes, Bridger and the remaining Noti circled back to protect their fellow villagers. Night Troopers were also deployed to assist Hati, and the Noti then hid inside their pods at the request of Bridger until the attackers retreated. Following the Imperial retreat, Bridger introduced the Noti to his old ally Ahsoka Tano and the Jedi architect droid Huyang.[3]

Bridger and his extragalactic friends accompanied the Noti caravan as they travelled through the plains of Peridea with Huyang flying Tano's T-6 shuttle above them. During their journey, the caravan were attack by two of Thrawn's TIE fighters. Though the Jedi took out Thrawn's fighters, several Noti were injured.[4]

The Jedi then launched an attack against the Great Mothers' Fortress but failed to prevent Thrawn's Imperial Star Destroyer Chimaera from escaping back to the New Republic's galaxy aboard the Eye of Sion. While Bridger managed to stow aboard the Chimaera Wren, Tano and Huyang were stranded on Peridea. They opted to return to the Noti caravan.[4]
