The Guiding Hand was an emerging criminal organization during the Cold War on Nar Shaddaa. The Guiding Hand's members were fanatically loyal to their leader, the crazy Jedi Master Duras Fain. Fain was known to hate the illegal spice trade, hence the Guiding Hand's repeated attacks on the Hutts' spice shipments. This disturbed the Hutt Cartel who then sent enforcers to resolve the problem. Meanwhile, a Jedi Knight was in search of Fain to cure him of the illness that was making him act irrationally.

In the end, Fain recovered and the Guiding Hand was reformed as a charity organization.
