"Made with the florets of a Cassius tree. It's good for your health."
Pre Vizsla[1]

A blend of tea could be brewed from the florets of the cassius tree. The Clone Wars-era leader of the Mandalorian Death Watch, Pre Vizsla, enjoyed cassius tea, and believed drinking it was good for one's health.[1]

In the year 20 BBY, Vizsla and his Death Watch troops were encamped on the Outer Rim world of Zanbar. There, they shared a bottle of cassius tea with the renegade Sith Lord Darth Maul, while discussing plans to form an alliance against the New Mandalorian government, Separatist leader Count Dooku, and the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Tea made from cassius florets was first introduced to the Star Wars universe in the young reader novel The Clone Wars: Darth Maul: Shadow Conspiracy, authored by Jason Fry and published January 1, 2013.[2] Shortly thereafter, cassius tea appeared in the fourteenth episode of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series' fifth season, "Eminence."[1]
