Naked Lunch
Don't you love a great lunch and conversation with an interesting friend? You know, the kind that you talk about for years to come. Phil Rosenthal, creator, and host of Netflix's "Somebody Feed Phil," already knows how to find fascinating people, foods, and cultures. While he always likes eating lunch, he's even more enthusiastic about a lunch that includes a conversation with smart people who share their stories. From Straw Hut Media

Concerning Listener Comments

So I was purposely looking for negative comments on this podcast and to see why they were there… I saw one that stood out talking about how Phil and David have guests on there without explanation or introducing them or how they know certain celebrities and named dropping, but if you don’t fast-forward through any of the podcast minus the commercials, they clearly state in the beginning of the episode, their special guests, and how they are connected connected to that guest and why they are putting them on the show to be interviewed. I was a little confused, but then I realized who’s not understand. This has been fast forwarding the podcast. The show was great and they do eat lunch with people they enjoy having in their lives through connections or through work experience or somehow crossing paths at some point in their lives. It clearly stated everything is clear so if anybody else is a little confused please read this comment. By the way, I bet in Portland was doing his book tour and I had no idea who David is I just nonchalantly ask him if Phil could be on my podcast and I wish I would’ve stopped to talk to David Moore because his background is so interesting because I really love music and films.
Great show on Sitcoms no mention I ❤️ Lucy

Adore the show but a suggestion

I very much enjoy the podcast. It accompanies me on most of my walks and workouts. I do want to offer one piece of constructive criticism for David….try to minimize using “like” in your questions and when relating stories. It makes my toes curl, particularly given the frequency with which you use the word. For me, it’s very distracting and takes away from the substance and integrity of what you’re saying.
Wanted to like it

I really like Phil Rosenthal, which is why I wanted to try this podcast. The Jane Fonda episodes are good and a few others have been interesting, but overall it’s been difficult to enjoy. There is a lot of name dropping and references to people “in the biz” that makes everything difficult to make sense of. There’s not always a clear definition of why the guest is there. Sometimes guests are there promoting something, however I thought it was supposed to just conversation over lunch? Not many episodes introduce guests or at least give the listener any context as to who the person is. David wild seems like a nice guy to talk to, but the constant fan talk and references to a life knowing all kinds of Hollywood actors/musicians/executives is not something that is relatable as a “regular person”. It’s one of the most frustrating parts of the podcast. While I know that the podcast has an E - explicit rating, there are some triggering conversations that happen during interviews and NO WARNING of the subject matter that is discussed. Trigger warnings during the introduction of the podcast would be helpful for people who may be offended by certain trauma discussed. Phil is a food guy and I appreciate his Netflix show about connecting over food, but this podcast doesn’t help me feel connected to any of the guests.
