Jenn Tran is confronting Devin Strader for the first time since he called off their engagement over the phone.

After receiving the final rose during the season 21 finale of The Bachelorette, which aired on Tuesday, Sept. 3, Devin and Jenn broke up. The pair sat down together to speak about their relationship and the aftermath of their split on the After the Final Rose special.

"What I can't understand is everything that you did after we've broken our engagement," Jenn said to Devin before dropping a bombshell about another member of Bachelor Nation. "Ending the engagement on a phone call, and the next day, I wake up to you following girls on Instagram — not just any girl, but Maria [Georgas]. Not only is that so disrespectful to everything that we had shared together, I just don't understand it."

"Why you would do something like that?" she asked him, referring to her former castmate on Joey Graziadei's season. "Because it completely invalidated our entire relationship, everything that I had felt for you, everything that we'd felt for each other."

"Obviously I failed you," Devin, who broke up with Jenn in a 15-minute phone call, replied. "And there's nothing I can say other than that. But, everything I felt for you was real."

When host Jesse Palmer asked Jenn what she wanted her last words to Devin to be, she knew exactly what she was going to say to him.

"I hope that you learn that the weight of your words matter, and that if you're going to promise something, you should be able to fulfill those promises," she said. "I just I simply couldn't have done what you have done in that position. And when I love something, I nurture it and I value it, and I don't throw it away the next day."

Jenn then snapped back, asking why Devin went out clubbing in New York City with another one of her suitors, Jeremy, just hours after their split. When Devin claimed he had gone to the city to see a work client, Jenn asked, "At the club?"

"Am I not allowed to live a life?" he replied, adding, "When we left the show, I had a lot of doubts, and regretfully and sadly, I suppressed those feelings, and I did come clean to you about that."

"I can't sit here and just listen to everything you said on that TV show, every time you said, 'I love you so much. You're the one I want to wake up every day and fight for you,'" Jenn said. "Where was the fight? When did you try to fight for our relationship? I fought."

Later, Devin admitted that he "fell short" of Jenn's needs.

"I watched you grow, and then I watched myself contribute to your regression," he said to her. "And that hurt — that hurt me. You you don't deserve to compromise your standards to be happy."

"You weren't ready to fight for love," Jenn said. "The woman that stood there was ready to fight for love, was ready to give everything into a person, was ready to start a family, was ready to loved and understood what it meant to fully love somebody, to go through the hard times, to go through the happy times, to go through every single obstacle in life with somebody unwaveringly no matter what."

Devin then told Jenn she was "trying to condense this," insisting that he had true feelings for her.

"I know that I fell short of a lot of your expectations to the point where you, like you said, you were doing things that were diminishing who you were," he conceded. "And you can sit here and say I'm a liar, this and that, I'm not gonna deny you on any of those things."

As fans may recall, Devin had a rocky start with his castmates from the start of the season, but he and Jenn hit it off almost immediately. At their date in Devin’s hometown, his mother encouraged him to express how he was feeling to Jenn.

“If you’re feeling that way, don’t hold back,” Devin’s mom said. “You’re not going to be The One if you don’t.”

At the end of the day, Devin took her advice and told Jenn he loved her, to which she responded: “I am falling so hard for you.”

After leaving the fantasy suites, Devin grew discouraged that Jenn hadn’t told him she loved him yet, and the episode leading up to the finale left fans wondering if the two would make it to the end.

“What I really want to hear is she loves me too,” Devin told the cameras. “And not the day before I get down on a knee or anything like that. I want to know so that I can build on that.”

He explained that he loved her because she appreciated him for who he was, but Jenn said she was still “on the way” to being in love.

Days later, before the rose ceremony, Devin and Jenn sat down to discuss his concerns. He told her that he felt like “the safe option,” adding, “Proposals are next week and I still don't know where your head’s at.”

“I don’t know how to be, maybe, what you need me to be,” Jenn replied, going on to drop a bombshell, “I do love you, you freakin’ idiot.”

Devin was the first to get one of the last two roses, along with contestant Marcus, at the rose ceremony later that night.

During the Men Tell All special, several of Jenn’s former suitors pointed out their skepticism of Devin, who had received backlash within the house for stealing Jenn for one-on-one time during group dates. Jenn stood up for Devin, both during and after the show, calling out Thomas N. for taking time out of his conversations with her to talk about Devin.

“Had you kept your focus on me, like maybe the journey would've turned out a little bit different for you,” she told him.
