Kristin Cavallari says MTV ‘manipulated’ young ‘Laguna Beach’ stars: ‘They f—ked with everybody’

Kristin Cavallari is calling out MTV for taking advantage of the young cast of “Laguna Beach.”

The former reality TV star said she thought she was the “only one” who got the “s–tty end of the deal” with the network but later realized “they f–ked with everybody.”

“We were very young to have our lives manipulated like that,” she told Bustle in an interview published Thursday.

“I’m not complaining about it. I’m so thankful for the show. I think it can be both things — I can feel like we were taken advantage of, and I can also be thankful for it.”

Now 37 years old, Cavallari admitted that being a teenager while starring on the wildly popular series helped her realize who she would become as she matured.

“At that age, 17, 18, no one really knows who they are, but it definitely made me be like, ‘I am not that girl on TV, but if there’s even a slight part of me that is, I know that I don’t want to be that,'” she explained.

She called her time with MTV a “blessing in disguise” and said she “wouldn’t change a thing.”

“So maybe it actually was a blessing in disguise and made me be a nicer person in general.”

Reps for MTV didn’t immediately return Page Six’s requests for comment.

Despite any epiphanies she may have had after leaving the network, the “Very Cavallari” alum admitted she “wouldn’t change a thing” about her experience.

“Everything has worked out the way it’s supposed to, and it’s gotten me where I am today,” she said.

The Uncommon James founder reunited with her “Laguna Beach” castmates in April 2023 to launch her brand’s nostalgic Back to Laguna line. In the images, Cavallari modeled her aughts-inspired designs alongside ex-boyfriend Stephen Colletti, Talan Torriero, Jason Wahler, Alex Murrel, Jessica Smith and Alex Hooser.
