Billionaire George Soros has won a key battle in his legal war against his ex-girlfriend Adriana Ferreyr after a judge denied her bid to force him to reveal all of his finances and credit card records from 2007 to 2011.
Ferreyr is suing Soros, claiming he reneged on a promise to buy her a $2 million apartment. Sheâd asked a Manhattan court to make Soros hand over all his financial data from the time they were together to back up her suspicions that he was cheating on her at the time with his now-wife Tamiko Bolton.
But Judge Debra A. James ruled that âthe amount or extent of Sorosâ largesse towards another womanâ is immaterial to Ferreyrâs claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Sorosâ lawyer William D. Zabel told us, âThis case is extortion to get $50 or $60 million from my client.â
