Enraged Brian Daboll smashes headset as Giants drop crusher to Commanders

Brian Daboll couldn’t contain his emotions as the Giants dropped a heartbreaker on Sunday.

After they lost on a walk-off field goal by the Commanders, the Fox broadcast showed the Giants head coach slamming his headset down on the ground as his team fell to 0-2.

The Giants took the lead with 11:32 remaining in the game when Daniel Jones threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Wan’Dale Robinson, but with the team not having Graham Gano — who entered the game with a groin injury and suffered a hamstring injury on the opening kickoff — they went for two and could not convert, leaving them with an 18-15 lead.

Commanders kicker Austin Seibert tied it with a 33-yard field goal with 7:12 left before his game-winning 30-yard kick as time expired.

The Gano injury hurt the Giants on all three of their touchdowns, as punter Jamie Gillan missed an extra point in the first quarter, and they failed on another two-point attempt right before halftime.

Despite Gano entering the game banged up, the Giants did not elevate backup Jude McAtamney off the practice squad, which came back to haunt them, leaving Daboll steaming.

This marks the first time in Daboll’s three seasons at the helm that the Giants have started 0-2.
