SSG members nominate Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) from around the world for the International Best Practice Award. Invest Macedonia was honored this year with this prestigious award for their work attracting and developing foreign investment and cooperation with site selection consultants. The CEO of Invest Macedonia, Ms. Ivana Nikolik attended as a keynote speaker and was honored to receive the Award.
As chairman of the SSG International Committee, Roel Spee presented Invest Macedonia with the award:
“Invest Macedonia has done excellent work in the international space,” said Spee. “Especially for a country of its size, with a population of just over 2 million, they are truly excelling. We are proud to honor them with this award.”

On 10 March the conference “Empowering Women through Access to Land” will take place in Tirana, Albania, jointly organized by GIZ and FAO, in cooperation with the International Union of Notaries. The conference will be organized into three panels. In each of the panel representatives of ministries, registration offices, notaries, equality bodies and NGOs from the region and international organizations will discuss on the importance of having the property registered, challenges, and success… Meer weergeven

On 10 March the conference “Empowering Women through Access to Land” will take place in Tirana, Albania, jointly organized by GIZ and FAO, in cooperation with the International Union of Notaries. The conference will be organized into three panels. In each of the panel representatives of ministries, registration offices, notaries, equality bodies and NGOs from the region and international organizations will discuss on the importance of having the property registered, challenges, and success stories of gender equitable land management. Solutions and ways forward on how to improve women registration in land ownership will be discussed.
The conference will be preceded by a pre-conference workshop on 9 March. This will consist of a technical workshop during which participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia will reach a commitment concerning the steps necessary to implement the priority recommendations that emerged from the Legal Assessment Tools and SDG indicator 5.a.2 assessments, and will exchange ideas on good practices and lessons learned.

IBF (International Business Forum) is an international platform established by MUSIAD in 1995, with the participation of businessmen from the business world of 66 countries, and the annual congress and accompanying commercial activities.

Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association MUSIAD from Turkey organized on 21 October 2016 in Skopje the Balkans Business Forum gathering companies from the construction, tourism, agriculture and food processing, textile sector and metallurgy.
The Deputy CEO of the Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion of the Republic of Macedonia, Ivana Nikolik had a presentation on investment potentials of Macedonia on that occasion.
She informed potential Turkish investors on macroeconomic indicators in Macedonia, improving the business climate, competitive advantages that Macedonia offers to foreign investors and attractive sectors for investing, such as metal-processing and electrical sector, the sector of auto parts, etc. It was pointed out on this occasion the progress of Macedonia according to Doing Business Report of the World Bank 2016 placing Macedonia at the 10th ahead of all countries in the region. Turkish investors were then familiarized with the growth of economic indicators and undertaking ongoing reforms for the EU accession.

Among the speakers at the IBF Forum were representatives of Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Kosovo.
