A green alert in 3189
A green alert, condition green, green light, or green status was an alert signal and status report used on Earth and later Starfleet vessels. It had a wide variety of uses depending on context, but generally was the regular status of vessels when not under any other alert status. Green alert also signified that ship systems were operating correctly.
In 1968, all systems at the McKinley Rocket Base were reported as green before the launch of an orbital nuclear warhead platform. (TOS: "Assignment: Earth")
In 2266, all decks reported green after being placed on alert. Lieutenant Dave Bailey on the bridge asked phaser station two "Where's your green light?" during a battle simulation while Captain James T. Kirk and Doctor McCoy listened in. (TOS: "The Corbomite Maneuver")
That same year, Farrell reported to Spock that the USS Enterprise's status was green. (TOS: "The Enemy Within")
Also in 2266, "all stations show[ed] green" when the ship went to red alert. (TOS: "Balance of Terror")
In 2268, while on the planet 892-IV, Captain James T. Kirk contacted the Enterprise with the message "Condition green, all's well." This was a pre-arranged code term used by landing parties of the USS Enterprise when communicating under duress. It indicated that while the party was in trouble, the ranking officer aboard ship was not to intervene or send anyone to help, as this would only endanger more people. It did not prevent that officer from preparing for possible future actions. Neither did it prevent that officer from using considered judgment to exploit an opportunity that aided the party without violating mission parameters. (TOS: "Bread and Circuses")
In 2268, a green light on Pavel Chekov's board signaled that either a hatch or vent was secured. (TOS: "Obsession")
In 2269, Sulu reported "All instruments functioning, ship's condition normal, all area status lights are green." after Kirk called the bridge for a report. (TAS: "The Terratin Incident")
In 2364, Deanna Troi reported that "The board shows green, captain. All go." before the USS Enterprise-D attempted to outrun Q on the ship's first mission to Farpoint Station. (TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint")
In 3189, a green alert was used on the USS Discovery-A to signify that the ship was operating its cloaking device. (DIS: "Su'Kal")

In several Star Trek video games (such as Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, Star Trek: Starfleet Command and Star Trek: Bridge Commander, among others), "Condition Green" or "Green Alert" referred to general normal running status aboard Federation starships, with shields and weapons off-line.
In "A Piece of Reaction", Commander Riker, under duress from the Sigma Iotians, told the computer on the holodeck to cancel a self-destruct sequence, adding "condition green" as his authorization code, prompting the computer to respond "Condition green acknowledged." This convinced his captors that the self-destruct sequence had been aborted, when in fact it was actually still running.
