Past Lives

Past Lives

Past lives, I've heard a lot of people call this movie a masterpiece, and after watching it, I agree that it's good and enjoyable, but it's not a true masterpiece. I might have a different perspective and change my mind after a rewatch. We dive into a story where Nora and Hae Sung, childhood friends, regain the connection they once had after many years of finding their own identity and personal lives.

This movie gives you a lot of hints about what will happen next, right from the opening scene, where we see them turning to each other and chatting while her husband, who I immediately guessed, just listens. This only emphasizes their unbreakable bond over the years and their chemistry. I have noticed that this movie also contains a lot of what-if moments between characters, which sets up this emotional rollercoaster as they discuss what could've been their future lives if they stuck together.

The film has excellent cinematography, particularly during the scenes where Nora is exploring all of New York with Hae Sung. Overall, I thought this movie was great, but I didn't feel the same way about it as many other people did. It's a straightforward film with some excellent conversation on destiny and love.
