This is the first time I have read this author and was looking forward to a great romance novel set in a small town. These types of books are fun for the additional character development that will spin off into other books in the future. So for me the first book is the most important.

I had a total buy in with the main characters from the beginning. A strong leading lady and a hot leading guy with sparks coming off everywhere. There is plenty of anticipation and build up to the romance which is sweet with a fabulous ending. In between, there is a ton of other stuff going on with the storyline that you have to get through. A lot of it I did not feel was necessary to the story.

I love a great plot and this had a ton of choices, but the author tried to stick in too many details that to me distracted from the actual plot. I am sure she was thinking ahead to the next books... maybe? So I am not sure if this is actually a romance novel with some mystery attached or more a women's fiction/chick lit with a bit of romance thrown in for grins.

Plus there was a ton of additional internal conversations and excess details that were just not that interesting to me. I loved the storyline, but I wanted more on the Hannah and Calder (who is hot BTW) strain and less on the backstory.

I love the additional characters for the spin off novels to come so I would definitely recommend this as one to pick up. This book was entertaining and a fun read, I just wanted more!

Sea Glass Sunrise is the first book in Donna Kauffman’s Brides of Blueberry Cove series. I listened to the Audiobook. This story is slightly steamy and romantic with a mystery and a lot of heart. I’ve had this audiobook in my audible library for a while and finally got the chance to listen to it.

Hannah McRae, a lawyer who lives and works in D.C. comes home to Blueberry Cove for her brother’s wedding. She’s not just coming home for the wedding but is considering staying in Blueberry Cove after a humiliating career and personal experience back in D.C. Hannah literally runs into Calder Blue when she accidentally runs a newly installed stop sign in the middle of town.

Calder Blue, a building contractor, is in town to build a new Yacht Club and to try and mend an old family feud with his distant relatives in Blueberry Cove. When he hits Hannah’s car he is immediately drawn to the woman, despite the injuries she incurred in the accident.

Calder and Hannah continue to run into each other (although no more car accidents!) and they eventually form a connection. But Calder lives inland from Blueberry cove, and Hannah lives in DC.

I enjoyed this book, it’s a romance and a mystery all in one, and it was difficult to figure out the villain until near the end of the book. The chemistry between Calder and Hannah was realistic and they were both very sympathetic characters. The writing was good and I was pulled into the story right away.

The narration was also very good. The narrator did a great job with the voices and I was easily able to distinguish the individual characters easily. Overall this was a pleasant, enjoyable book and I will read the rest of the series soon.

I enjoyed the audio version of the book.
This was just a good story. There was nothing over the top intense with the story but it was written well and the characters were easy to connect with. The story flowed well and captured my attention from the beginning. It was a sweet romance with a little mystery to keep things interesting.

Awesome book! I love the books in this Blueberry Cove series and this is a great addition. Hannah McCrae is returning to Blueberry Cove after a huge scandal in DC has uprooted her well planned life. Calder Blue is in the Cove to find out why he is being offered a construction job even after he purposely overbid the job. When the two meet during a small traffic mishap there is an intense attraction but neither is looking for any kind of relationship. These two seem to keep running into each other in some hilarious situations. Throw in an age old family feud and some crazy town folk and you have one great story. I highly recommend this one.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. She escapes the city and goes back home to her brothers wedding. Ends up meeting man of her dreams. Some drama happens in the middle and they figure it out together. He leaves town and she goes to hunt him down. The end is a good one.

This was a quick reading beach read but can be read at any time of year. It was reminiscent to me of books by Susan Mallery, Jill Shalvis, Erin Nicholas and Carly Phillips to name a few. The characters all have strong ties to family and their town – in this case Blueberry Cove, Maine, a small town I wouldn’t mind living in.

There was some suspense and a mystery to be solved due to an explosion on the harbor but also wedding plans, playfulness, relief, family strife, small town happenings, romance and love. The characters were easy to get to know and it was heartwarming to see the interactions between the McCrae siblings even if they hadn’t been together for awhile. Hannah, Fiona and Kerry along with their big brother Logan who is also the police chief and his soon to be wife, Alex, all have many layers to them and the sisters all have secrets they are hiding. It was fun to get to know them as well as Calder Blue who comes to town to potentially sign a contract to build a new yacht club that nobody but the person who commissions it seems to want. The sparks fly every time Hannah and Calder are anywhere near each other and they seem to be thrown together quite a bit even if their first meeting was a painful experience at least for Hannah. This is definitely their story.

The descriptions of the homes, businesses, dresses, beaches, the coast and the boats were vivid and made me feel that I was there. The lighthouse at their family home is an important part of their heritage and it was easy to envision. There was nice closure and a happily ever after in the offing that we know comes to fruition from the excerpt from book two in the series, Snowflake Bay, that’s in the back of the book. The recipe of the Boston Cream Wedding Cake in the back of the book sounds delicious and I may give it a try.

Kaufmann is an author I’ve read before but not in a while. I definitely will be adding her other books to my always growing TBR pile and not only from this series. I can’t wait to be back in Blueberry Cove!

Favorite Quote: …”Works for a generations-old family firm. Has three younger brothers, a handful of nieces. Rescues horses. Even learned acupressure to help relieve their pain.”

Logan’s mouth twitched in a smile. “And yet you hardly know the guy.”

Kauffman has definitely done it again. This novel was a fantastic, approachable read with all the bells and whistles. The characters in this novel have the ‘awww’ happy kind of love. It’s fantastic. There is such unmistakable tenderness throughout. Readers also get to experience the Maine coast & small town life via Kaufmann’s picturesque writing. I’ll admit, at the beginning, even though I was enjoying the story, I was wondering exactly what direction it was heading in. By about 20% through, I couldn’t put the story down or get it out of my head. The well plotted and executed tale took me on twists and turns that one rarely sees in contemporary romance, but that really make the novel stand out.

The McCrae sisters are a fantastic trio that I’m dying to get more of. The closeness of these sisters, and the way that they interact with one another was so genuine that I felt as if I were part of a family moment. The Blue family history added an extra twist to the tale that I loved unravelling. There were also lots of introspective moments that really draw you to the main characters as individuals. I loved getting a look at their feelings, fears, and desires, as well as how this all comes together to make these individuals who they are. I loved getting a look at how Hannah thinks and views things. The scattered, multiple thought trains at once was fantastic. I felt as if I really got to know the real her through it. Because of these intriguing two main characters I’ll never look at Gone With The Wind or Oliver Twist the same way again. These literarily inclined characters were definitely a treat.

Kauffman never fails to leave me with a smile on my face at the end of a novel. This one was no exception. It’s a fantastic read for all those who enjoy contemporary romance.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads

This is a lovely read, with a good dose of romance, a mystery, and a host of interesting characters from a small coastal community of Maine. The leads are genuinely good people, who you cannot fail to admire, and want as friends (they are too into each other to expect more ;-0 ) There was enough community building that future stories will feature familiar characters, but not too many. The twist was clever, and the themes of family, trust and security were dealt with beautifully.

I cannot wait to read on ...

I enjoyed this 1st in a series by Donna Kauffman. I enjoy most books taking place in or around water and this one was no exception. The scenery was beautifully described. I really could envision the cove in Maine. All the characters, particularly Hannah and Calder, were well thought through. The storyline kept me interested and reading even when I should have been working on another project. I enjoyed the small town feel to the book, the fact that everybody knew everybody else. It was a fun book to read. Thank you to Kensington Books and NetGalley for a terrific read!

This is a wonderful addition to Ms Kauffman's series about Blueberry Cove, Maine, and it's inhabitants. While it's helpful to have read others about this town, this novel can also be read as a stand alone. I liked both main characters, Hannah Macrae, a litigator in DC, and Cauldef Blue, a construction guy from St. Croix River Blues ...split by a many years old feud from the Blues of Blueberry Cove. The plot involved suspense and it moved at a pace that kept my interest.

"Sea Glass Sunrise" by Donna Kauffman

What I liked about this novel....

I really enjoy reading to first series of 'The Brides of Blueberry Cove.' The two main characters were very interesting to read about being of career decisions and family issues. Hannah McCrae was home
in Blueberry Cove, Maine for her brother's wedding, after her job and personal life in DC had gone up in smoke. It was on her way home Hannah gets involved in a car accident after running a four way stop sign...their she meets Calder Blue who stopped to help her and this lovely story begins. Calder was in town to see about a job on the town's waterfront and also trying to resolve a decade of feuding between two separate factions of his family...'The Blue's.' I loved how this author was able to get Hannah and Calder together that will involve them in land issues involving semi dangerous residents and much more as they are drawn together in this very interesting story. And in saying that I will say I enjoyed how this relationship developed between Hannah and Calder. The chemistry was off the chart..hot and steamy! Let's not leave out those secondary characters especially Hannah's sisters that will put a smile on your face being well developed, portrayed, and believable helping to give the reader a story that will keep your interest in this two plot story that even has some mystery in it. Be ready for a good read about a old family feud with some crazy and some humours town people and you have it all..."Sea Glass Sunrise."

This book reminds me of the expression, "You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl." When Hannah McCrae heads home to Blueberry Cove for her brother's wedding, she is planning on staying. Not only is she running from a disastrous romance but she has quit her job. She misses her family and the small town atmosphere but is afraid to tell her family what happened. On her way into town she almost runs into Calder Blue, who is from the arm of the Blue family of St. Croix River who is feuding with the Blueberry Cove Blues. Injured, rattled and foggy, Calder helps her out. They continue to run into each other and there is an unmistakable attraction. There is a lot of fun banter between these two characters and a simmering build up to a relationship. This is the first in a trilogy so there is a lot of detail about the town, relationships and situations that will probably come into play in the next couple of books. There is some drama and mystery thrown in as well to make this book appealing on several levels. I really likes the McCrae family and the townspeople we met. They were real, caring and loyal to each other. A great read and I will definitely check out the rest in this series.

I love small town books and this one was another lovely read.

Hannah goes back to Blueberry Cove to attend her brother’s wedding- but has a car accident on her way in. A new man in town, Calder Blue is there to make sure she’s ok and there is a spark of attaraction.
Her sister wanted them all to attend the rehearsal dinner in their WORST bridesmaid dress from the past which provided a funny scene when Hannah has to run errands in hers.

Hannah is fleeing her old life- her ex turned out to be married and his pregnant wife turned up to her office to tell her. She’s a trial attorney- but she’s resigned from her job and wants to make her home back in Blueberry Cove again- but she doesn’t want to let everyone know just yet.
Calder is related to a family in the Cove- but there had been a split many years previous. He’s been invited back to help set up a yacht club.
After an arson attack Hannah steps up to defend Blue. There is an air of mystery over what went on
There will be sequels featuring the other sisters in the family- the next one is a Christmassy one I think.
Many thanks to Net Galley for the chance to read this one.

Fun start to the new series. Hannah is on her way home for her brother Logan's wedding (Pelican Point). Her family doesn't know that she's coming home to stay after a relationship gone wrong that also wrecked her career, and she hopes to keep it that way until after the wedding. The last thing she expects is to be involved in a car accident and rescued by a hot visitor to the town, putting her "no men" resolution at risk.

Calder Blue is a contractor who has been offered the job of building the new yacht club. He has come to Blueberry Cove to scope out the job, but also to see if he can end a long-standing family feud. Getting involved with a local woman is not on his list of things to do.

The book starts with a bang and doesn't really let up. Hannah is driving through town, thinking about the mess her life is in when she nearly hits another vehicle. Though she misses it, she ends up crashing into a sign hard enough that her airbag deploys, dazing her. I loved this first encounter between Hannah and Calder, as each makes assumptions about the other. I enjoyed their banter as each tries to deal with the situation in their own way. There are also some definite sparks between them which they try to ignore. Over the next twenty-four hours, they run into each other several times, each time in increasingly amusing situations.

Hannah and Calder are both terrific. The disaster back in DC has dented Hannah's confidence in herself, but being back home gives her the chance to rediscover who she really is. I loved seeing her reconnect with her family members and friends and soak up the atmosphere that nourishes her soul. She is intelligent with an awesome sense of humor that really comes out when she's with Calder. Calder is laid back, confident, and charming. He's been burned once and wary of getting involved again. His sense of humor is right up there with Hannah's, and some of their conversations are downright hilarious.

I loved the development of their relationship. The sparks between them are intense each time they encounter each other. I loved how quickly they connected and how easy it was for them to confide in each other. I liked the way that Calder's interest in her helped Hannah get past her treatment by her ex. I also loved how Calder was able to tell Hannah about his suspicions over the yacht club project and her willingness to help him figure out what was going on. The attraction continued to build, and the kisses became even more incendiary. But it wasn't just the physical connection that was growing. Both Calder and Hannah found themselves thinking of each other as far more, and it freaked them each out a little bit. Neither was sure that they could trust something that was moving that fast. However, they hit a bit of a road bump when the yacht club issue escalates, then Calder's father is taken ill, sending him back to his hometown. There's a period of self-doubt that made me want to reach into the book and shake them. Hannah comes to her senses first, and I loved her big moment as she takes a chance on the future she wants. Calder's vulnerabilities show also, but he comes through like a champ.

The underlying mystery of the book was good. One of the residents, Winstock, has plans to build a fancy yacht club and most of the town doesn't want it. The man has been pretty ruthless in his methods of getting it done. Calder is suspicious of why the man wants him as the contractor, especially considering the family feud going on with another of the waterfront owners. Concerns mount when Winstock keeps delaying his meetings with Calder, then an explosion on the docks throws suspicion on Calder. The mood is lightened a little bit as Hannah gets involved in defending Calder to her brother, the police chief. Calder's and Hannah's investigations raise more questions than answers until one piece of information suddenly makes all clear. But it may not be soon enough, as a situation arises that puts a little girl's life at risk. Calder reaches hero status with his actions in a tense confrontation. The revelation of the culprit was a bit of a surprise, as it was not who I thought it was.

I loved the closeness of the McCrae family. Hannah, Fiona, and Kerry each have their own distinct personalities, but their love for each other and Logan is obvious. I loved the stories that they told about each other. I also loved how they had each other's backs at all times. Fiona's appearance at Hannah's accident was heartwarming and hilarious. The events leading up to the wedding, instigated and planned by Fiona were a riot to see. I loved Hannah's protectiveness in keeping her problems to herself until after the wedding so that she didn't ruin the happiness of it. Fiona sometimes seems manic in her actions, until it comes out that she's going through some issues of her own. Kerry just seems wild most of the time, but I have the feeling that she's hiding some issues of her own. I am looking forward to reading their stories.

Hannah and Calder meet when she is on her way back into town for her brother's wedding and she crashes to avoid hitting him with her car.

Hannah's not only in town for the wedding though, but has chosen to keep that a secret until after the nuptials. Calder is there for a project, but it's more to that also.

He makes a lot of assumptions about Hannah, but is still drawn to her.

I love the fact that they keep running into one another when neither expects it. There romance is completely serendipitous.

Besides the romance and the craziness surrounding the wedding, there's also a bit of a mystery to solve and old family feuds to attempt to get over.

I realized early on that there must have been books about these characters written prior to this couple's story, so I went in search and now I'm on a mission to learn more about the denizens of Blueberry Cove, Maine.

"Sea Glass Sunrise" is the first book in the "Brides of Blueberry Cove" series. I listened to the Audiobook version of this story. Typical summer, easy read/listen for me. The narration was good as was the overall story. I tend to be drawn to seaside or lakeside novels during the summer months. I will give the next book in the series a try later in July.

God this book was terrible. The writing was juvenile, the plot was stupid, and literally other than maybe 5 minutes of excitement, nothing happened other than the two main characters acting like lovesick teenagers who are too immature to use their words. Good lord. Drivel. Do not recommend.

I’m in that tricky place where hard-core reader is waiting a long time for your favorite writers to release new books. While waiting I’m giving writers new to me a try.
I couldn’t get a total handle on this book. I couldn’t tell if it was a mystery or if it was going to be a romance. I did enjoy the protagonists, male and female although a few times she almost became dippy. Almost. I also enjoyed many of the secondary characters but I can’t honestly say they’ll be all that memorable. I just needed more focus or something.

The part of the book that is the actual romance is great but the majority of the book is a lot of other stuff.

Apparently there is an entire Blueberry Cove series but this is my first book in the series and my first book by this author. I can tell you that you don’t need to read any of the other books to follow this one so if you are concerned, don’t be. I don’t often venture into small town romance because I’m too much of a big city lover so take everything I say with that bias in mind.

Plot in super fast rewind: Hannah returns to Blueberry Cove (which I totally imagine to be like Abbot Cove from ‘Murder She Wrote’…yeah yeah, I’m over 30) after some drama in her urban lawyer DC life disrupted her plans of world domination (to which all lawyers aspire). Calder is in Blueberry trying to untangle an ages old family feud involving his family. The two meet during an unceremonious traffic accident and keep meeting on accident/purpose (not sure which) as Hannah prepares for her brother’s wedding in the Cove and Calder keeps waiting for meetings with people who are constantly pushing them back (seriously). There is an immediate attraction between the two and all kinds of erroneous assumptions and defenses start flying in all directions. The bottom line is that Calder wants Hannah and she has to work through her emotional trauma caused by a recent failed (in an epic way) relationship.

I really really liked the character depiction of both Calder and Hannah in this book. Calder is the kind of alpha male with a really good heart that gets me every time. He is steady and consistent in his pursuit of Hannah even though his desire for her doesn’t completely make sense to him. Hannah was the best balance of tough, logical and soft that I love in heroines. Hannah had some very reasonable defense mechanisms erected as the result of her life circumstances but they weren’t overplayed in the plot. There was just enough angst on her part to make sense in the context of her experiences but not so much that it became annoying melodrama.

I also enjoyed the development of the relationship between Calder and Hannah. I guess I should say that I enjoyed that the relationship was developed. There was insta attraction in this book but there was also dialogue between the main characters as they developed an understanding of each other. Both Calder and Hannah initially misunderstood each other but their actual interactions with each other formed the basis for their relationship. This is great because we the readers get to know the characters and can identify with what draws them together.

Now for what I didn’t like so much- there is entirely too much character introspection and too much information about all the subplots in the book. Let’s start with the subplots: there is a wedding, a family feud, an arson, the harbor development, Hannah’s siblings and the townspeople. For each of these subplots, there are several pages dedicated to explaining and exploring them. By the time all is said and done, I estimate that like 30% of the book is devoted to the subplots in the story. My main issue is that the subplots seemed like totally separate stories. I didn’t feel like they did anything to further my understanding of the relationship between Hannah and Calder so you know what that means- you start skimming. The subplots were actually kind of interesting for what they were but if you are reading this book for the romance aspect, there is a real potential to get bored with all the other stuff. Here is a good example, at one point Calder is meeting with the Mayor who gives him insight on the Blue family feud and tells him all about his daughter and her hopes and dreams for life. While I was reading it, I made a note to myself which said “I do NOT care about this.” And that pretty much sums it up.

As for the introspection, OMG, Hannah and Calder think way more than I want to know about. There are several sections of the book where there are pages and pages of introspection. That always leads to one thing- boredom. You just don’t want to read about the main characters obsessing over the same issues over and over. Even if we do this in real life, we don’t want to read about it. If you add the long period of introspection to the subplots, like 60% of this book is NOT about the relationship between Hannah and Calder. That’s why I’m going with 3 stars instead of 4 stars. As good as this book was (and it is actually good), not enough of it was about the story that I wanted to be reading.

I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of a book tour for a fair and honest review. I rated it 4 out of 5 Stars.

A light hearted contemporary romance, Sea Glass Sunrise by Donna Kauffman is the first book in the Brides of Blueberry Cove series, a spin-off from her Bachelors of Blueberry Cove series. Set in a small fictional town in Maine, Ms. Kauffman’s story is filled with colorful characters, family drama, a sizzling romance and a touch of comedy. While tied to another series, this is a book which can be read on its own.

Returning to Blueberry Cove for her only brother’s wedding, Hanna McCrae plans to start her life over. Humiliated both personally and professionally by a romance which was a huge mistake, Hannah left her once promising career as an attorney in D.C. to return to the small town she once called home and is filled with people who love her. Only her first day back doesn’t exactly work out as planned, traffic accident caused by a new stop sign she wasn’t aware of, and soon she’s can’t remember why she wrote off hot men.

Calder Blue has travelled to Blueberry Cove to conduct some business and settle a two hundred year old family feud. Becoming involved in a traffic accident with a pretty lady was not a part of his plans, though he’s definitely attracted to the woman. Will his temporary stay in Blueberry Cove turn into something permanent?

Ms. Kauffman does a good job developing the characters of both Hannah and Calder, though I have to admit that I wasn’t a huge fan of Hannah at first (let’s just say she was foolish when it came to her previous romance). While both Hannah and Calder have romance issues from the past, they couldn’t help being attracted to each other from the start. It helped that they each found the other extremely attractive. I enjoyed watching their romance develop from what could have been a tragic incident and it helped that both characters had a good sense of humor and were decent people overall.

The secondary characters were also well developed and I really enjoyed getting to know the people in Blueberry Cove. I especially liked Hannah’s family, her brother Logan, Alex McFarland, his fiancée/bride, and Hannah’ younger sister Fiona, who is a real hoot and has a wicked fashion sense. I also enjoyed getting to know Calder’s estranged family and Barbara Benson, one of the town’s police officers, who also happened to be the McCrae family’s substitute mom.

Will Hannah and Calder give their blistering attraction a chance to develop into something more than a temporary romance? Will Calder be able to get his family to move on from their 200 year old feud? And will the town of Blueberry Cove be the home they are both looking for? You’ll have to read Sea Glass Sunrise to find out. I enjoyed it and can’t wait to read Snowflake Bay, the second book in the series featuring Fiona, which will be published in September.

This was a more thrilling story than I was expecting. With a whodunit that I didn't realize was going to be part of the novel. I really liked and connected with Hannah and her life drama as well as the need to not burden her family with her problems. I also really liked Calder Blue, except for his issues with women who want to be independent. He viewed independence in women specifically as a shield covering emotional dependence. I understood his thought process but I also felt that it wasn't the whole story. Truth of life is that vulnerability requires trust and if you have spent many years having to depend on yourself you have up major barriers for self protection. Then you meet someone you trust and the switch is flip. Finally here's someone you can show your underbelly to after a lifetime of keeping it to yourself. Yep I could see how that would give Calder issues but I also see the other side of it. None of which has anything to do with Hannah but Calder makes assumptions about her when they first meet. Calder is sweet and kind but witty and smart. The connection between Hannah and Calder was fun to experience because of the fact that they are both witty and full of snappy comebacks and teasing. They were worth reading about.

I wasn't expecting to like this little town either. I automatically think of super conservative closedmindedness funded by elitism when I think about coastal Maine. Some of that is informed by the fact that I'm watching Murder She Wrote right now and that series is super problematic 20 years later. Anyway, I loved Hannah's sisters! They were fun with great energy (though I personally was not a fan of Hannah's and Fiona's view of Kerry's travels and experiences, there was a bit of exoticizing the other happening and it had nothing to do with the phrase "tribal twerking"). I'm looking forward to eventually reading Fiona's and Kerry's stories.

It was the book title and cover that first caught my attention. I've read Donna Kauffman's books before and somehow I feel her books are a hit and miss for me. Nevertheless I decided to try this new series out especially since it had such a beautiful name.

The story did start off slow in my opinion. It included lots of details and thanks to the 2 strong leading characters, they managed to stand out. The connection between the McCraes were something heartwarming and it was nice seeing the bond that they shared. Hannah and Calder's chemistry kept sizzling with each encounter they had and Calder made it difficult for Hannah to resist the attraction with his gentlemanliness, personality, ease of conversation and needless to say his good looks.

I was surprised by the twist as the story unfolds and that was when the story picked up. Overall, I enjoyed how the relationship developed between Hannah and Calder, reading about the additional characters and the setting in this small town Blueberry Cove. I can't wait to read about the remaining sisters. I hope Logan will have his own story told as well.

"Sea glass," she said. "Is it from - you didn't have this on before."

"I found it in my jeans pocket. It was what I had. Of you. Of that perfect day."

"There's an ancient belief that if you wear a piece of something you gathered in a meaningful place, carry it with you, you'll go back there someday."

Reading this just gave me a happy sweet contented sigh...

Many thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Books for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

Donna Kauffman is what I like to call a solid author. Meaning that up front I know I will truly enjoy her new story, easily connect with the characters and at the end it will leave me with a big smile on my face.

It’s been a while since I read one of her books, so I was very happy I got a chance at her new series and it didn’t disappoint. I truly love small town romances, where everyone is in each other’s business, while there is still so much drama all around and somehow always has these quirky characters.

Hannah is back home for her brother’s wedding, and probably longer than that. After her relationship failed miserably, and she was kind of forced to quite her job, she’s had it with big town corporate life. I liked the fact that Hannah was so happy coming back home, seeing how much she missed the small town and all its people. It was clear to see, she is much happier here.

Calder is in town to build some new yacht club nobody wants, but he’s really here to make some family amends. Though things are a lot more complicated than that, and that element of mystery was a nice addition to the story.

Over the course of a couple of days, these two keep bumping into each other all over town. From the first moment sparks start flying, and both wonder if this time happiness is right around the corner. Some of these scenes though, holy smokes, they were so hot I needed a minute to get my mind together again.

Sea Glass Sunrise was a great story, with lovable characters, a dreamy setting, and plenty of humor and charm.

Omg! What a great story! I absolutely fell in love with Calder and Hannah! Their timeline in falling in love was kind of fast, about 4 days, but it worked for them. It wasn't exactly love at first sight but the way Ms. Kauffman wrote the story it was very believable that these two were able to fall in love in just 4 days. Love story aside there was also a bit of mystery and intrigue involved that made me not want to put the book down until I finished it. Loved every moment of this book. It was just so sweet! Can't wait for the next book in this series.

Read the second of the series before I read this one, but it doesn't matter. They both stand alone. The heroine is a high-powered lawyer coming home from DC to change her life after a bad breakup. The hero is a contractor in his father's business who has come to town to investigate the circumstances around a peculiar contract, and perhaps find out about a family feud that's been lingering for generations. They meet when she runs a brand new stop sign and crashes into a sign to keep from hitting him. It's a good story. I liked it a lot.
