A spellbinding and soul-searing story of epic and ever-lasting love, Aced reignites a slow burn of bleeding passion that started with Driven and continues to scorch, rendering a deep and dominant connection. It’s the click. A forever love. The kind of awe for a book that makes you giddy, nervous, and full of butterflies---a sweet ache. That book or series that shakes your soul, grabs your guts, and hits your heart so hard that you feel your emotions oozing out of you long after the book is finished. Driven has the click, the voodoo spell that is all-encompassing, and Aced feels like coming home.

Colton and Rylee are back, and when Aced hit my e-reader, I may have had a book-gasm---thrilled that I was about to become one with the Driven vortex again. I’ve been dreaming of more Colton, my second husband, for too many months to count or years since my first Driven date. Aced is simply a Driven lover’s dream come true and is the perfect complement to Colton and Rylee’s tale with a few more twists and turns. I may or may not have been smiling and sometimes screaming, “Yes!” while reading Aced, as I could barely contain my excitement of being reunited with my Ace and Ry too.

Barely into the prologue…just a few pages into Aced and…

Colton’s dirty mouth melted me from head to toe, the heat pouring off the pages.

“I can’t hide the lighting-quick grin that flashes across my face because the type of eating out I’m thinking of has nothing to do with chopsticks. And from the purse of her lips, she knows perfectly well what I’m thinking. And yes, I may be hungry, but I don’t really give a flying f**k about food right now because there’s the taste of something else I’d rather have on my tongue.”

I cried tears of joy from the sweetness wrapping itself around me.

“My face is buried in the curve of her neck. And if I thought my heart and soul had been lost to her before, I was so f**king wrong it’s not even funny. Right now, in this moment, I’ve never felt more connected to her. My f**king Rylee...We finally crossed the finish line we thought we’d never reach.”

Aced has quickly found a big place in my heart, as Colton and Rylee’s story flows back to life. I smiled as this story quickly swept across my soul, resonating my love for this series and the phenomenon that is Colton and Rylee. Once again, I’m reminded just how much the Driven series owns me.

Colton with his green eyes, dark hair, scruff, and a chiseled body---he is a walking wet dream. Swoon! Gorgeous on the inside and out, our Ace has grown since we last Raced him. Oh, that hot dirty-talking mouth we love is still there that spouts out scorchers and snort-laughing phrases like estrogen vortex and nothing but the sheets. However, this Colton is older and wiser, and more of the calm than the storm. He has conquered control of his emotions, and he is even more remarkable and beautiful inside and out if that is possible.

“Our eyes lock. That goddamn sucker punch of emotion hits me like a battering ram, because for a man who thought he’d never feel anything, she makes me feel everything. The whole f**king gamut.”

Stunning Rylee with her violet eyes, curves, and inner and outer beauty that glow like a halo around her still brings out the best in her Ace.

“I can see that when he looks at me, beautiful is what he sees, and I’ll take it, because when a man sees you at what you feel is your worst and thinks you’re at your best, don’t question it.”

I love how Colton and Rylee still spice up their marriage after many years, and that their love for each other is stronger than ever. I was entertained as Rylee is now a bit more dirty too…maybe a few lessons from the master.

“Colton Donavan on any day is drop-dead handsome, but when his waist is framed between my thighs, his chest bared so every inch of bronzed skin is shadowed for effect, and the look in his eyes says he’s going to take me as he sees fit---no holds barred---he’s indescribable.
Rogue. Rebel. Reckless.”

This strong couple has fought battles, weathered storms, and dealt with so many relationship twists and turns that Colton and Rylee's bond is a powerful force. They will be tried and tested again as the past bubbles up to the surface once more---haunting them, taunting them, and planting seeds of doubt.

“Colton wouldn’t do that to me. He loves me. He loves us. We’re each other’s world.”

Rylee was Colton’s rock as he nearly crashed and burned from the dark storm of his past. Now Colton must save Rylee. Spiderman. Batman. Superman. Ironman. Rylee needs her hero to fight for her.

“Every knight has a weak link in their armor. I fear I just might be his.”

Like Colton and Rylee, Aced is imperfectly perfect as is the Driven series. Aced fueled my fire where I was driven with desire. This sensational story crashed my heart a few times yet made me smile and snicker. I raced every word and every minute of this powerful and poignant piece. This story and series are not just books but emotional and enlightening experiences that bring out the feels.

K. Bromberg aced this story as she has with the devastatingly beautiful Driven series. You can’t help but race the whole Driven crew and their creator, K. Bromberg, who has flawlessly and fabulously built these soul-bearing stories, bringing these captivating characters to life while touching hearts along the way just like her writing does from A to mother f**king Z. Imperfectly perfect.

Aced is a story about what happens after you get the girl.

You know the ending already as ACED takes place in a 5-6 month time span between the last chapter of Crashed and its dual epilogue...but you don't know what happened in that ten year gap nor have you heard anything about this story per se.

The chase is over. The cocky racer already has the girl. So what is he like as a married man? What happens when they face the unexpected and the consequences of it cause a butterfly effect greater than ever imagined?

Aced is about marriage.
It's about how things happen out of your control and how you adjust, how you step up to the plate, or how you run away.
It's about still having that type of never-ending love even when you are angry at the other spouse.
It's about protecting what's yours even when you're not sure how to.
It's about growth. As a person. As a spouse. As a couple.
It's about family. In all of its typical and atypical meanings.

Will there be emotion and hot sex and swoon worthy moments and times you are frustrated with the characters? Of course. Isn't that why you fell in love with them in the first place? What's the point of taking the ride if there aren't a few potholes along the way?

But what I will promise you is that when you finish the last page, you'll remember exactly why you fell in love with Rylee and Colton and their motley brood of boys (among other characters) in the first place. It will feel like coming home again - a short visit with those you love - and when you leave them, it will be with a fuller heart and a smile on your face.

descriptionI love you.” Her voice is soft as her lips move against mine, and something about her tone makes my heart beat a bit faster. “Like head-over-heels, butterflies-in-my-stomach kind of love you . . . that’s all.”
Her words dig deep down into the places that rarely get paid attention to these days: the goddamn abyss where the demons from my childhood live. The ones that used to rule my life until Rylee came along using her fucking perfection and selfless love to help brighten that darkness, and chase away the doubt that occasionally rears its bitch of an ugly head."

Aced is a spellbinding story of true everlasting love. It all started with Driven. A slow build up of passion, love and trust that went on in Fueled, Crashed and bled itself so powerfully and poignantly in Aced.

This book, the whole series actually grabs you in its clutches and doesn't let go even after it is finished. There is something so attractive about Rylee and Colton you can't help but not getting sucked into their story.

description All I know is completeness.
All I want is forever with him.
My husband.
My rock.
My piece of peace.
My memory maker.
My happily ever after."

Reading Aced was like going a full circle. It felt like coming home to two of my absolute favourite character and getting along like no time had passed. What I love the most about this series is how tragically 'bent' Colton was. His transformation over the trilogy was such an amazing experience.

But you know what is the best part? That even after all this time, Colton accepted his past and who he is and the love he and Rylee share, he still is the same person he was when I started the book! His need for reassurance and the doubt that surfaces is what makes him true to who he is.

Since it is Colton and Rylee you know you can't expect just rainbows and sunshine. When everything is good they are amazing but when they are at their lowest is when they are DYNAMIC! Because, it isn't the highs that count, it is easy to have support when everything is good. It is when you are at the lowest of your lows when you know the true strength of a relationship. This is what this story is about. Both Colton and Rylee hit rock bottom and it was then their love, support and trust for each other shined the most.

It was their true selves that came out when everything in life was wrong.

Kristy is a master at writing scenes that grip your heart and she delivered it to the best in this book. The trials and tribulations were heartbreaking and challenging and the emotion was running so high throughout the book and it was so easy to get sucked into it!

It was Colton who shined through this book. I saw a side of him that I never thought I would see. He was responsible and strong. And yes, he was scared but he handled all of the hurdles so well. He never lost sight of the checkered flag that was waiting for him outside the long tunnel.

The man I met in Driven, Fueled and Crashed is a far cry from the man I met in this book. He was dedicated, hands-on, loving, supporting, the rock of the Donovan family when everything was crumbling around him.

I was 'Driven' to read this book and it 'Fueled' my need to keep going. I 'Crashed' into and 'Raced' this love story. The wait was a 'Slow Burn' and the 'Sweet Ache' of the anticipation of this book made me dance to the 'Hard Beat' of its rhythm. When the wait was finally over... It definitely 'Aced' across the stadium leaving a piece behind with me.

Colton will make you SWOON like you've never SWOONED before!

This is the happily ever after...AFTER...the happily ever after.

There won't be a dry eye in the house folks! I'm not talking a stray tear here and a stray tear there. I'm talking full-blown sobbing that you have to try to cover up so your family doesn't think you are crazy! Tissues...lots and lots of tissues is a must before you pick this book up. Happy tears, sad tears, angry tears. Your heart will break and it will mend, but the journey to get there is a real and difficult one. This is a hard-won romance that will make you and break you, but in the end it will completely change you. A complete intense experience for sure!

ACED was a beautiful and emotional rollercoaster. My heart hurts and yet, it is so damn full of love for each and every one of these characters. It's hard to believe that after all Colton and Rylee have been through, that we now know that was only the beginning. This is a story of two people, and what happens after they get their happily ever after.

"What we have between us," he says, voice thick with emotion as he pauses to find the words, "is a beautiful thing." "A beautiful thing is never perfect," I murmur. "You're right. We're far from perfect. We're perfectly imperfect."

Colton and Rylee are in for the race of their lives, tackling so many obstacles and dealing with tragedy after tragedy. Two broken souls, once again, coming together to give us romance readers something to dream about, something to strive for, and something to embrace with our whole hearts. Your stomach will flutter, your chest will tighten, your heart will burst. There is NOTHING like a K. Bromberg DRIVEN novel. There is such a realness to it that will blow your mind. These characters, primary and secondary alike, have become like family to us DRIVEN fans. It's a feeling that is so hard to write down, to put into words, to do it justice. It's magical. It's beautiful. It's something special that will stick with me for years to come.

I didn't want it to end, and yet, I couldn't flip the pages fast enough. It was with a very heavy heart to say goodbye to these characters once again, but I felt content with an ending so fit for one of my favorite book couples. Bromberg absolutely ACED this installment of the Driven series.

Gahhh more of this super favorite couple and K. Bromberg did NOT disappoint!

But its not all hearts and flowers but with a story like Colton's and Riley's that probably expected. We thought they found their happily ever after at the end of Crashed but ACED will show you the ins and outs and how, after six years together, they still find themselves fighting for their happily ever after.

With a past that comes back with a vengeance tainting one of the most epic moments of their past, a need to find closure in past demons all mixed in with adjusting to the next chapter in their life, Colton and Riley are still fighting with everything they are to protect the future they so desperately deserve together. The understanding and support they give one another is rare. Its not over done. Its not sugar coated. Its very real and very emotional. This book gave me all the feels.

The passion between this favorite couple is at an all time high, but as both Colton and Riley state several times - its all so different, yet so very much the same.

Their romance in this book isn't made up of all those over the top steamy sexy scenes that fell in love with in their previous books. In Aced, their passion and connection with each other is fueled by their commitment and trust in one another. Its powerful and consuming and you won't be able to get enough of them.

Colton's love for Riley shows in each and every page. His need to have her, breathe her and protect her comes across so natural that it won't take much to fall right back head over heals in love with him yet again.

Riley's commitment and dedication to her boys from The House, to Colton and to her future are so strong and heartwarming, it reminded me of all the reasons I loved her so much. Her fears comes across so natural my heart ached for her.

This story is honest and true and a great addition to an all time favorite series.

K. Bromberg knocked it out of the park once again! Definately a must read

Just one word: breathtaking!

Aced (Driven #5) by K. Bromberg was one of my most anticipated book this year. And it was most definitely worth the wait!

There are no words to accurately describe the feelings and emotions that were constantly in my heart all the way to my toes, while reading this book.

Driven series is one of my all-time favorite series and one of the best I ever read. I love Rylee and Colton to pieces. Once more, their connection captivated me; their unconditional love, their unbreakable bond and their absolute unequivocal devotion were burning up the pages. Page after page I was drawn a little bit more into this incredible love story. Their journey was nothing short of beautiful.

While reading the scene when Rylee gave birth to her son, I had goose bumps everywhere. The alternative POV during this moment gave me insights in both Colton and Rylee heads and I was sucker-punched by all the indescribable emotions I felt. These two were so meant to be together.

"Breathe, Donavan. Fucking breathe. Ry’s the one in labor and you’re the one nervous? Think of her. Worry about her."

"She’s my Midas. Everything she’s ever touched in my life has been made better, fucking golden, including me as a man."

Rylee is an incredible human being with a heart of gold. She’s one of the most beautiful heroines out there. Colton, what can I say? I simply love him. He went on a truly amazing journey of growth and self-realization. He’s by himself a heart-wrenching story of finding hope even when darkness is all one has ever known, and of coming to terms with the past in order to embrace a brighter future. They were both so full of justified fears. Colton and Rylee deserved their HEA after all they have been through. I will always be irrevocably in love with them! Forever…

"What we have between us," he says, voice thick with emotion as he pauses to find the words, "is a beautiful thing." "A beautiful thing is never perfect," I murmur. "You're right. We're far from perfect. We're perfectly imperfect."

This book was also like a tribute to all the amazing characters that we already loved from previous books, Tanner, Hawkin and Quinlan, Haddie and Beckett, Colton’s parents, the boys at the House... Zander and Shane, they were so incredible.

Phenomenally written and utterly addictive as always, Ms Bromberg’s writing style is a force to be reckoned with. AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ I highly recommend.

5 "Framing memories" Stars!
 photo Aced - K. Bromberg_zpsjaqf1fmn.png

I was so excited to read Aced because the Driven series is one of my favourites of all time. I fell in love with Colton and Rylee's love story and how these two grow so much and stay strong throughout all the situations in their path. Of course, K. Bromberg did not disappoint!

Aced is the fourth novel in this series and it is obviously related to the previous ones (Driven, Fueled, Crashed and Raced) so I recommend you to read the whole thing before this novel. PLEASE, do not read this review if you haven't read the other books, it will contain some SPOILERS. You've been warned ;) So, Aced continues with the story of Colton Donavan (the sexy racer with a fucked-up past who finally finds his salvation in the woman that fell from that closet) and Rylee Thomas -now Donavan- (a woman who has been through a difficult accident, who has so much love for the lost boys in The House and who is afraid to fall in love again but she cannot stop herself when she meets Colton).

Fucking Rylee.
My breath.
My life.
My kryptonite.

The novel starts almost six years after Colton and Ry's wedding and Bromberg with this book gives us what happened between the ending of Crashed and its second epilogue. I loved knowing more about this couple! I loved that Colton and Ry continue having this amazing overwhelming connection that needs no words expressed. They are so sweet and so hot as a married couple! They cannot get enough of each other and they are so happy after some very big, very good news!!

She’s my Midas. Everything she’s ever touched in my life has been made better, fucking golden, including me as a man.
I turn back around. Ready to do this.
Wheels on the track.
Hands on the wheel.
Its time to add our first memory to the frame.

I really enjoyed Aced, especially the first half and the end. However, everything comes with a prize right? Well.. obviously Colton and Ry's journey through this book is not all hearts and flowers. They experience some very difficult situations (because they are a famous couple, because of their pasts and also because they are becoming parents for the first time).

“Something’s wrong with me, Colton. I’m broken.”
“No. Never. You’re not broken, just a little bent,” he says with a soft smile, trying to replicate that moment so very long ago.

I could handle all the 'bad' events that happened in Aced but one. It was quite hard for me to deal with Rylee's post-partum situation. I could see Colton struggling and worrying and Ry is so deep in her mind that it was quite overpowering for me. I just wanted them to be completely happy! Of course, I cried, not a lot but I did! So sad! (Thank God for Colton and their families!)

It’s when the sky is the darkest that you can tell which stars are the brightest. There’s only one star I see: Colton’s light shines the brightest to me. Maybe because he’s the one saving me.

Now, and related to all this, what was my favourite thing about this book? COLTON! Colton Donavan, I love you to pieces! He was my favourite character in the series and he continues to be. It's so sweet to see how much he has changed and how he behaves now that he is a father. He is amazing, and super sugary and also off-the-charts hot!

What is more, after all the not-expected aspects of this novel, K. Bromberg gave us such a beautiful and thoughtful ending! I love her writing, I love her characters and I love the feelings, OMG the feelings! I was so freaking happy at the end! Again, let me tell you ladies, Colton is the best, seriously! If you haven't meet him, what are you waiting for? ;)

She’s so much more than just my wife. She’s my goddamn everything.

Therefore, my rating for Aced is 5 STARS because, as I said, I will not complain to have more Colton Donavan! lol K. Bromberg you are amazing, and thank you for giving us more of these two and their family, it was beautiful! Just one thing.. I did not rate this one with my special 6 star rating because I struggled a little bit with Rylee but for everything else, this was perfect! If you haven't read this series or if you have and you want more, I totally recommend to read Aced :)

4,5 “Only Sheets” Stars

In the book that we were all waiting for (I know I was!!), we have the events that took place between the end of Raced and the epilogue.
Despite their HEA the road still wasn’t the easiest one for them, especially when the past keeps on haunting them and Rylee’s miraculous pregnancy brings unexpected problems.
But the thing about couples that healed together is that they’re used to fight for them.

description

I know I may biased, because there will never be such thing as too much Rylee and Colton for me, but this was amazing.
A completely new story that show us a completely different side of their relationship… what happen after the HEA, when real life and hardships come in their way? Not all the happy endings are easy, some take more work than others and it was really good to have a look into their lives.
If you are a fan of the series, I strongly advise you to read this book.

Rating: 4,5 Stars.
Characters Development: Once again it was amazing to see more of Rylee and Colton, as they are one of my favorites couple ever. And more than that, it was good to see the roles reversed from the previous books, where Colton was the broken one and Rylee had to be strong for both of them. This time Colton had to step up and I have to say he did it rather well.

So we have a vague blurb, so this review is following suit to avoid any chance of spoilers. First thing you have to know is this is not a standalone. This bridges the gap in Crashed from the ending to the epilogue, so new readers – do not start here, but please start!

What I loved the most about this series has always been how tragically broken Colton was. His transformation over the trilogy was my favorite experience to be a part of, especially the moments in Crashed when it all came to a head. The way Colton grew from those moments on the bleachers, throughout Aced was breathtaking to experience. It was a back-to-it’s-roots moment for me as a reader.

Now it isn’t all hearts and flowers for Colton and Rylee, life isn’t always filled with the highs. Often times you have to overcome far too many lows before you find your peace. And their lows... wow. Kristy delves into a territory that I could not personally relate to but I have a feeling a lot of readers will be able to, so as this was a large aspect of the story, it was a little difficult for me to traverse in a way that wasn’t like an outsider looking in. It was emotional, it was heartbreaking and challenging, but it was something I think will connect with certain readers on a far superior level. So my focus really remained on Colton and how he handled the hurdles life put in their way. And boy did he. I loved how strong he became. How he was able to deal with everything and how he never lost focus on what mattered.

The man we first met in Driven is such a far cry from the dedicated-all-in guy that we get in Aced and the journey to get here was so worth it.

The fans of this series are in for a treat with this bonus story for these two. A few years ago a woman had an idea and decided to write a book and that decision led us to this moment. Totally and utterly in love with characters that we’ll never forget. From crazy hashtags, to what-in-the-heck-does-ACE-stand-for, to never listening to a Matchbox Twenty song without thinking of this series... all of it. And thank goodness she put pen to paper and took that idea and ran with it!

5 ACED IT STARS

Bromberg just keeps giving more and giving better. Aced is like an unexpected gift. Of course we all know that Colton Donavan has already claimed the checkered flag for life but what was unknown was that the path to that victory lane was even rougher than previously thought.

 photo f1b974c0-82ee-4406-9080-251f27df685f_zpsafaf6j78.jpg

Aced brings a happily married Colton and Rylee. A married couple who are each other’s everything. So many demons have been battled but some are still hard to keep at bay. With the knowledge of a new life on the horizon, Colton and Rylee have to deal with coming to grips with becoming a “family.” Colton still worries about his beginnings and who he will be and Rylee still worries about holding onto the perfect life she seems to have.

 photo 1564ecd9-3506-4d60-98b0-84a1583df269_zpseqncyhur.jpg

No one said life with Colton would be easy and soon his high profile lifestyle begins to creep into their private happiness. Neither is prepared to be left exposed and vulnerable by a vulture like public. One thing is clear, their love is so strong and so capable. Both characters have grown up. The communication, the emotions, the decisions all come from a much more developed place. Everything is grounded in the concept that Colton and Rylee are forever and that their family will always come first!

If you have been a fan of the series, of Colton, then Aced will blow you away. He has always been a top book BF for me, but this book elevates him to an entire new level. This man is now comforting…openly vulnerable…beyond in love…but still confident and sexy as sin. From painting a pregnant Rylee’s toes to finally looking into his baby boy’s blue eyes, his character’s reactions are staggering. If those scenes are not enough to have you swoon or yet wrench you deep in the gut, then a very poignant game of “I’m sure” between a husband and wife will move you deeply.

So while the epilogue from Crashed was plenty enough to satisfy this reader, I cannot complain that Bromberg decided to give one more go around with the Donavan’s. Insecurities, intimacies, and invasions…ACED runs the gamut of angst that all led up to one of the most perfect endings for a pretty perfect couple!

If I was the kid that wasn’t adopted I would literally be jealous for the rest of my life and probably cry.

And the entire idea that the boys voted on it and said they were all okay with it issssss a bit unconvincing.

“You’re only alive if you bruise.”

WOW. I finished ACED a while back, but it has taken me some time to write a review because of the raw emotion in this book and the feelings it awakened in me. Although I connected with Colton and Rylee from the very first book in this series, this time around the couple are experiencing "real-life" trials and tribulations that I think almost anyone can relate to.

Rylee's experience in this book touched me so deeply that I had to distance myself from this book for a bit after I finished. I read this book when I was going though a very similar experience, which made this book all the more personal and real to me. In my opinion, Ms. Bromberg got these emotions so right, that I find it hard to believe she hasn't experienced them first-hand. Bravo again, Ms. Bromberg, for perfectly nailing an incredibly painful and private subject and hitting it out of the park.

Of the many romance books that I have read, Colton Donavan remains one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends. And that is no small feat. What is even more endearing about him in ACED is that he has matured, grown emotionally and become a more sensitive and loving man here, not only with Rylee, but with his family as well. *SWOON* I don't think anyone can come close to Colton in terms of pure sex-appeal!!

"What we have between us," he says, voice thick with emotion as he pauses to find the words, "is a beautiful thing." "A beautiful thing is never perfect," I murmur. "You're right. We're far from perfect. We're perfectly imperfect."

ACED is a roller-coaster ride of emotions, the perfect conclusion to the unforgettable story of Colton and Rylee. ACED is K. Bromberg at her finest. Colton Donavan will steal your heart. Again. I adored this book and didn't want it to end!

Favorite Quote:

“He only sees me. I take comfort in the thought. That even amid all this chaos swirling around us, my husband only sees me. That I can still stop the blur for him. That I’m still his spark.”

For new readers - it might even be possible to read this without having read any of the books in the #Driven series - BUT - pfff - why would you want to miss those amazing books!
I suggest reading #ACED as book #8 because we meet almost all other characters in this book!

Trigger Warnings:

This is the fourth and final book in Colton and Rylee’s journey. If I’m being completely honest, this book was not needed. It was emotionally draining, it felt real but because all the issues were heavier, it was mentally exhausting. This series includes three books:

Driven
Fueled
Crashed

This series has a lotta misogyny, body betraying syndrome, and a not like other girls FMC. The first book started off terribly IMO, it’s insta-lust, and the main characters make out in the first coupla chapters. The chemistry felt forced and the MMC was making out with someone else before the FMC a coupla minutes before. The series is about a friends with benefits, no strings attached relationship that turns into something more. It’s a lot more emotional than I thought and I’m honestly excited to read about the other characters too. This book series gets SO much better, I even cried a coupla times which is crazy. So if you start this and aren’t into the writing, the characters, or whatever, I recommend you push through, and once you’re past the first half of the book you will get used to it and there will be a lotta toxic drama that’ll be entertaining and addicting. I couldn’t stop reading once I started but because life got in the way, this book took me so long to finish.

Now for spoilers

I can’t believe I’m saying bye to Colton and Rylee, I never expected for them to grow on me. These books are unforgettable IMO and very entertaining, I’m glad I continued cuz I ended up enjoying it. I didn’t think I would wanna read the next book but I’m curious about Haddie and Becks so I’m excited! Anyway, stay safe folks!

Driven fans better buckle up – Bromberg delivers this missing piece hard & fast, making for a deliberately bumpy ride.

One thing was certain: my eyes were glued to the page, I ignored all life responsibilities while reading and I was engrossed & engaged in all things Colton & Rylee.

This sequel (can I call it that?) gives you all the little links and pieces you want without diluting your love for either character. I adored Colton’s ability to step up when needed and his desire to protect his family – a family he at one point thought he’d never have.

Colton is the dream book boyfriend we know and love. I loved watching them struggle together and find their footing in their marriage. Let’s be honest – marriage isn’t easy, but it can be totally worth it. Bromberg challenges her characters with real life – and you’ll really love it.

If you’re a Driven fan you’re going to be nervous going into this, shit, I totally was. But I trusted Bromberg and she doesn’t disappoint. Keeping true to their identities, this book is NOT BORING. There’s a ton happening, but even the subplots don’t distract you from the theme of true love conquering all.

You get little snippets of the characters from the other books, but nothing that would ruin their stories – GAH. perfect. Well done, Bromberg! Aced pushes you over the finish line with flourish and leaves you with hope and an intense level of love. This sequel will hold you tight and make you smile. 5 stars!

Ok, so if you haven't read Driven series before, do yourself a favor and do that.
Have in mind that this is not a standalone.
Driven is one of my favorite series ever!
If you like this genre, Rylee and Colton are probably on your list of best romance couples.
I always wanted to know what happened in the gap between the end of Crashed and epilogue.
K.Bromberg just knows how to do it, and she nailed it again!
This was a great conclusion to the series.

Loved it!

I while reading Down Shift I realized I never read Aced even though I bought it on release day. Since I was curious about Zander's adoption I went for it. Well, I loved it for the most part, Colton definitely makes the book. I still don't like the fact that this is just a snippet of few months of those 10 years and that i still have tons of questions. But overall, this is pretty good.

Aced (Driven #5) by K Bromberg
4.5 stars!!

“You can’t control this, son. The only thing you can do is to turn your words into wisdom.”

Aced was a book that I had been eagerly anticipating since K Bromberg first hinted that it could be on the cards. This was the book that the fans begged for and demanded and K Bromberg was willing to write. This was a book for the fans and K Bromberg delivered.

“We’re far from perfect. We’re perfectly imperfect.”

Colton and Rylee have their very own place in my heart, since the day I trawled Amazon and found Driven I have lived these characters lives through the ups and the downs and there have been a lot of them and this book is no different. Colton and Rylee haven’t had it easy and it seems even when everything should be right in their lives they both still have their troubles that need to be worked through, but these two have each other and they have the strongest bond and in this book that bond is once again tested.

“You’re only alive if you bruise.”

I love that these two love each other so hard, even when most would have given up and walked away these two hold on to each other for dear life. When they think they can’t help the other, the simplest of touches, the simplest of memories ground them, just being in each other’s company centres them even when the world tries to pry them apart.

“That pang of desire just as strong now as that first time I saw her. But there’s so much more that goes with it now: needs, wants, tomorrows, yesterdays, and every fucking thing in between.”

Colton and Becks’s bromance is still going strong and I love the bond that these two have. These two are always there for each other, know each other inside out and can tell what the other is thinking without any words being spoken. They know what the other one needs and the banter is hilarious. It is this banter that brought balance to a book that really tested your emotions.

“Brother, let’s just say that voodoo doesn’t hold a fucking candle to pregnant pussy.”
“No shit?”
“Nympho.”

This book fills in the gap between the end of Crashed and The Epilogue. We have house drama, father drama, pregnancy drama and paparazzi drama but all this drama is intermingled with some extremely moving and touching scenes. Scenes that were so emotional and so tender that you couldn’t help but let those errant tears flow. This book was intense at times, but it is because of that character connection that I have had from the first book that these scenes meant so much more.

“You’re not broken, just a little bent…”

This book was once again K Bromberg at her best, perhaps reconnecting with her original characters that started her “author” ball rolling took her back to her roots and brought that love, angst and character connection back to the top of the pile. This book was perfect in every way, tugged at every heart string and the transformation in Colton once again took my breath away. He has come so far, from the man who warranted the “ACE” acronym, the player and the egotistical racing car driver. Today stands a man who is proud of his wife, who wholeheartedly craves the sanctity of his marriage and a man who has turned into an amazing husband and father. Colton is a man he never thought he could be and he loves it, just as so many of us readers love him. Sometimes characters just wheedle their way into your heart and he has done just that. He doesn’t need his superheroes any more, he just needs to realise he is one himself.

“My husband. My rock. My piece of peace. My memory maker. My happily ever after.”

Added as an afterthought (at least, that's how I feel), Aced starts six years after Colton and Rylee's wedding, when Rylee finally becomes pregnant.

Can we talk about what's not cool for a second? Making up a disappointing story to a really good trilogy, for one. Also, taking the main character, Rylee, who I really thought was amazing and making me dislike her. I loved Rylee and Colton but after reading this book, I'm having feelings against Rylee, and I really wished I had not read it. Waiting months for a new book, wondering what this is going to be about and I am disappointed in the outcome.

For those who really want to know what's this book about- a sex tape from an unknown source is released of Rylee and Colton from a scene in the first book six months through Rylee's pregnancy. Honestly, the only part I liked about this novel was them adopting Zander and the situations that lead up to it. Shane, who is now in college, was brought forward into the focus a bit and I appreciated him more.

If you absolutely loved Rylee's character, I would say don't read this book. If you're really desperate for more about them, then I guess you can go ahead and read this. But if you ask me, finish with Crashed and be happy.

Oh, hell yeah, Colton is back! Although the beginning was a bit annoying for me (I get, I would be mad too if this happened..) I really liked Aced. I loved to read about Colton trying to make sense between his feelings and what his mind thinks that should happen (heck, he is the notorious bad boy after all!)
I especially loved his inner monologue. Having something very private become public makes Rylee very panicky. Colton becomes the fierce protector of his family with his sexiness but quirky attitude.
I loved this, sometimes, heartbreaking but oh so beautiful story and lets not forget the boys!

Waiting for this book felt like being at the airport waiting for a beloved family member's flight to land. You kept on checking that you had the information right, wringing your hands with anticipation of what you knew for sure will be an awesome reunion. Regardless of the long passage of time not seeing each other and meeting other people whom you've come to love, you knew without a doubt said family member is different. He will always stand out, he will remain in your thoughts and nothing will give you more joy than to see him once again.

That, in a nutshell, was how I felt reuniting with Colton.

I've read a lot of great books with unforgettable characters, fell in love with some of them and admired so many extremely talented authors.... but Colton felt like home.

From Driven, Fueled, Crashed and Raced then through glimpses in the next three books with other characters as main leads, I've come to love Colton and it's sometimes hard to believe he isn't real. How can he be just a fictional character when you knew his smirks, his fears, his joys, his strengths and weaknesses, his ego and his own brand of language, his history? Surely he's a part of your family, right?

Reading about Colton and Rylee's relationship was easy. Everytime they interact, I'm reminded of how they met, their struggles and how they fought for each other. When they do sweet things together, his epic proposal would come to mind. I'm reminded of so many things! Nothing but sheets, Pink's Glitter in the Air, the superheroes, be my spark, the checkered flag...

What I loved most about Kristy's writing style is how she balances things. Yes, as all stories go, she writes conflicts and then resolutions. Characters will face challenges that will eventually be resolved or they would learn to move on. But Kristy doesn't just give highs after the lows or provide solutions to the problems. Her stories also prove that there is right in the world.

Our favorite couple had it good for a while until people from their past came back to create chaos. While I admired Rylee and her selfless and compassionate nature, I was hooting with satisfaction that Colton wasn't as magnanimous as she was. Nope, the Colton we knew would hit back where it hurts. He might have changed for Rylee, but my favorite racer still had his cold and dangerous side when people tried to hurt the most important person in his life. Readers fell in love with him not because he was meek and humble. Nope. We loved his dirty mouth, his cocky attitude, his brokenness, and his mean streak when crossed. He was definitely all that, but with Rylee? He was perfect.

I was so proud of Rylee. I could go on and on about how extraordinary she was, but all you really need to do is to read about the boys under her care who came to her damaged and broken and how their lives changed. They were her legacy. They were living proof of the goodness of her heart. She faced a lot of challenges in this book, but she was a fighter. And with a supportive husband to hold on to, she found her footing again.

Aced was Colton at his finest. I've always loved him, but Colton here? Beyond words. Thank you Kristy, for giving us this version of Colton freaking Donavan.

Hats off to Kristy for knowing the right kind and amount of emotion to put in every scene, for knowing exactly when to cue the tears or when to elicit a laugh from her readers. She knows how to make her readers feel. Every word. Every scene. Every chapter. You will feel everything. I swear I cried so many times, and it wasn't even over sad parts. It was all because I felt their joy, their love, their fears and their proud moments. I was one with the characters from start to finish.

Colton and Riley was a testament that when you find your one great love - one that is unconditional, one that does not judge, one that sees you through your flaws and brokenness, then you need to hold on to it and never let go.

They never did.

It was great catching up with you, Colton and Rylee. Finishing this book was bittersweet because as much as I loved getting my hand on this book, reading the last page was like saying goodbye once again to that family member you waited so long for at the airport. But I'm sure we'll meet again, I can't stay away too long without doing a re-read of one epic love story.

Wow! I was so flippin’ excited about Aced and it was even more amazing than I expected! I couldn’t read it fast enough!

We get to see the time between Rylee’s pregnancy and Ace’s birth so make sure that you read the Driven Trilogy first before you read Aced. (And if you haven’t, what are you waiting for?!?)

Colton, still one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends, continues to make me swoon!

“Fucking Rylee. My breath. My life. My kryptonite.”

And sweet, sweet Rylee, there could never be a more perfect woman for Colton.

“He only sees me. I take comfort in the thought. That even amid all this chaos swirling around us, my husband only sees me. That I can still stop the blur for him. That I’m still his spark.”

Aced takes you on a wild ride of emotions.

“You’re only alive if you bruise.”

I laughed, I cried, I needed new panties. I loved seeing the bromance between Colton and Becks still going strong. I adored seeing both Rylee’s and Colton’s families as well as Haddie, a true BFF.

There is so much I want to say but I don’t want to spoil anything so I am leaving you with READ THIS BOOK! If you are a true Colton fan, you will not be disappointed. Just make sure you have the tissues, and spare panties on hand—or just go without, it will probably be easier.

Ms. Bromberg, thank you for sharing this glimpse into Rylee and Colton’s lives. It couldn’t have more perfect! ~ Tiffany, 5 stars

~~~
I forgot just how much I love Rylee and Colton Donovan. Aced picks up six years after they got married. They’re living their own version of happily ever after, but just like everyone else, their life isn’t perfect—there are stresses. Colton is chasing the Cup. Rylee has a new boy in The House that she’s trying to connect with. Oh, and she’s pregnant—with a bit of high blood pressure that has the doctor and Colton worrying about her too. Just normal every day stress that’s manageable under normal circumstances. But nothing about Colton and Rylee’s relationship has ever been normal, or simple or quiet.
How will Rylee and Colton cope when the shit hits the fan? When they’re thrust into the forefront of social media and paparazzi? How will they manage to keep living their normal? It’s what happens when life gets turned upside down and backwards that you find out just how strong your relationship is. How strong the love bond is. How strong someone can be when their other isn’t.
I loved catching up with Rylee and Colton. Seeing how they were living their life between the end of Crashed and the Epilogue. I loved seeing the growth in their relationship. That their love was still so strong and powerful. Even through their struggles, their love for each other shined through—there was nothing that was going to break them. Bend them yes, but not break. ~ Missy, 5 + stars
~~~

Colton. Rylee. Becks. Haddie. All the gang’s here! I was late to the Driven party—like, almost two years late. But when I finally started, I fell in love with all of them for so many reasons. When I heard about Aced, I couldn’t wait to read it.

Aced is about growth. Growth individually, and growth as a couple. Colton and Rylee are two beautifully broken people who, when brought together, heal each other and themselves, and all becomes right with the world. But when a special moment from their past becomes public, their world spirals out of control and everyone waits for the other shoe to drop…

Fucking Rylee. My breath. My life. My kryptonite.

Colton bears the responsibility for the chaos in their lives and can’t let go. He loves her with all that he is and more. His willingness to do anything in his power to take care of her and keep her happy and healthy is such a part of who he is instinctually, and I was excited to see his personality shine through and not get lost after so long between books.

You race me.

And for the first time since we’ve met, I truly understand why Colton finds such refuge in his beloved beach—the crash of the waves, the feel of the sand beneath his feet, and the sense he’s this tiny blip on Mother Nature’s radar.

For any person who’s ever found solace at the beach, they truly understand that statement. Rylee was finally understanding the peace that Colton can find in his little slice of heaven. As I was reading that piece of the book my heart just soared. I love the beach, the soothing of the waves, the calmness that washes over me and yet the unpredictability of the seas.

This portion of Colton and Rylee’s story is complex and trying. It’s real and full of struggle. A myriad of emotions raced through my body as I became part of their story; anxiety, anticipation, heartbreak, love—extreme amounts of love—desire, wonder, and an overall sense of kindness.

There are so many stories left to tell and I wonder if we’ll ever find out what happens to this amazing cast of characters, but for now, I’m happy and satisfied. ~ Heather, 4 Racing stars
