Wales Week London has collaborated with artist Nichola Hope to create a book that provides a glimpse into the culture of Wales, through its rich tapestry of words and art. Voices / Lleisiau is a collection of works where pictures and words meet. We invited a selection of Welsh writers and poets to respond to original artworks by Welsh artists.

This book celebrates Welsh voices.

Wales is a nation of storytellers. Storytelling is empowering because it gives us voice, it provides new perpsectives and promotes creativity. Artists often tell stories through pictures. In this collection, the writers' responses enrich our visual vocabulary; they shine a light on the artwork and invite exciting new ways of looking, whilst unravelling new layers of meaning.
