Louise Blackwick is a Dutch jungian writer, author of many thought-provoking stories themed on subjective reality and states of altered consciousness.

Her body of work is distinguished by the presence of Jungian themes, concepts and imagery which she superimposes over popular genres like fantasy, science-fiction and psychological thrillers.

Blackwick is particularly known as the author of the international bestseller, VIVIAN AMBERVILLE®, an epic fantasy saga that follows the interdimensional adventures of a teenage girl who can control odds, luck and circumstances. Vivian Amberville is set in a parallel ultra-reality, where people have found a way to "Weave Threads of influence into the very fabric of reality".

We wouldn’t have as much as a bridge in this world without a mind to imagine it. We have built and continue to build this world on the premise: thoughts become things.

Vivian’s story merely extrapolates on that idea. She is a 13-year old, who discovers she can reshape reality in her image. This fantasy book, thus becomes my way of telling the reader: we are responsible for the ideas we breed, and we are responsible for the world we create.(less)

“As the Weaver, so is the Thread”
Louise Blackwick, The Weaver of Odds

“Our dream of happiness is waiting for another universe to collide with our own, and change what we ourselves cannot.”
Louise Blackwick, The Weaver of Odds

“A day may come when all hope is lost; when the oceans run red with our blood, and our darkest hour is upon us— and when it comes, that red day of reckoning, we turn, my dears, not to our rulers-in-good-times, but to our leaders-in-bad-times.”

“Vivian’s first impression of Solidago was that she had travelled back in time, but not to a time where architecture had been invented. All houses were twisted out of shape, to say the least. Windows either too large to open or too small to make a difference peppered the city in places one would never dream of having one.

The walls were mostly cast in brickwork by the kind of stonemason whose day job was financial advising. Skewed walls with more bricks than mortar, knotted chimneys keeping the smoke inside and cupping rooftops whose main purpose was to gather rainwater – Solidago had it all and more.

As the oldest civilization of the cosmos, Alarians might have been excellent at healing, philosophizing and weaving into the fabric of reality, but they were very poor city builders.”
Louise Blackwick, The Weaver of Odds

“By weaving their thoughts and feelings into the substance of reality, the Weavers had ensured anyone writing about them would secure an instant bestseller – which wasn’t particularly difficult, considering the Weavers held the strings on the one holding the pen.

Those who controlled the Pattern, controlled reality.”

Louise Blackwick 5 Stars Your favourite NEON SCIENCE-FICTION NOVEL is getting a HARDBACK!

I'm super excited to announce the HARDBACK edition of my sci-fi novel "5 Stars" will be released on November 30th, 2022!

Written in a completely new subgenre - NEON SCIENCE-FICTION - "5 Stars" has done incredibly well in my home country (the Netherlands) and will be opening to international markets sometime next year.

The hardback release of "5 Stars" will be accompanied by a ton of goodies and surprises, so make sure you keep an eye out for future announcements!

Not yet caught up? Check out the book synopsis below:

ABOUT THE BOOK

Five days before the inevitable end of humanity, five unlikely heroes find themselves on an impossible quest to outlive the apocalypse.

Aurora, Stella, Rolf, Tümay and Sorano must challenge themselves to beat the Neon God’s Algorithm in a crumbling, totalitarian, surveillance state complicated by crime, technology and civil unrest. Under the ubiquitous eye of the Neon God, they set out to collect “Gold Stars” – an elusive, difficult to obtain, merit-based currency – and secure a seat on the last shuttle to Luna.

In a desperate attempt to save her baby daughter, Aurora must navigate the Dark and do her utmost to survive the last technological remnants of a dying civilization.

WHO AM I

My name is Louise Blackwick and I'm an author based in the Netherlands.

My body of work is distinguished by the presence of Jungian themes, concepts and imagery which I superimpose over popular genres like fantasy, science-fiction and psychological thrillers.

My obsession with Jungian archetypes, hermetic symbolism and states of altered consciousness has so far allowed me to push the boundaries of fiction and uncover new ways of writing: ways that include experimental stories heavy on imagination.

MY MISSION

Through my Jungian Writing Series, I hope to bring back the wisdom we are in so much danger of losing and share it with the world, so that it may guide and inspire future generations of writers.

I hope your support will allow me to continue my exploration of Jungian fiction, boundary-pushing, experimental storytelling and literary best practices rooted in the collective unconscious.

Louise Blackwick If you enjoy Carl Jung's work on the collective unconscious, you might enjoy perusing "The Underworld Rhapsody."

A novella of the archetypal, the transcendental and the metapsyche; a psychedelic read on the nature of reality.
