Julia Garner makes a deal with the devil in new trailer for Rosemary’s Baby prequel

"Apartment 7A" streams on Paramount+ this September.

Before Rosemary, there was another woman chosen to carry a demonic baby. The upcoming TV movie Apartment 7A is a prequel to Rosemary's Baby, starring Julia Garner as an aspiring dancer who first lived in the titular apartment.

Garner (who won three Emmys for her breakthrough performance on Ozark) plays Terry Gionoffrio, a young woman who moves to New York City for the same reason as so many others: "To make something of myself, to be on stage, to see my name in big lights." Unfortunately for Terry, she severely injures her foot during a dance performance, which seemingly puts those aspirations on hold...until she meets an old couple (played by Dianne Wiest and Kevin McNally) who promise to make all her dreams come true.

At first, Terry is thankful for the opportunity to move into her older friends' luxury Manhattan apartment building, the Bamford. But stop us if you've heard this one before, things aren't quite as they seem. She begins to realize that the girl who lived in the apartment before her may have suffered a tragic fate. "They did ungodly things to her, and now they've chosen you," an old nun warns Terry.

Terry then starts to see visions of herself pregnant, and feels something strange moving inside her. You probably know where this is going, but the Apartment 7A trailer concludes with a montage of phantasmagoric scenes, mixing demonic cult imagery with Terry's dreams of Broadway glory. Is she willing to put up with a demonic pregnancy in exchange for finally seeing her name in lights? It seems like she might be.

The cast of Apartment 7A also includes Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe), Marli Siu (Everything I Know About Love), Andrew Buchan (All the Money in the World), Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean), and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Wonka).
