Hi, Just saying Hi, and I hope I wikified my page enough! Golly, HTML code is a lot easier than wiki markup. :) Carla Pendergraft The preceeding comment is made by Carlapendergraft

hi was my contribution to the "Doc Holliday" page considered vandalism? I honestly don't understand. There really is an extremely well-known bar in the East Village called "Doc Holliday's" that features murals of Holliday on all the walls, inside and out, plays mainly Hank Williams, Sr. music on the jukebox, and the bartendresses do periodically dance on the bar, similarly to "Coyote Ugly's," another well-known bar a block away. (It's not a strip club, if that's what you were thinking.) It's the single most overtly visible evidence of Doc Holliday's continuing influence on popular culture in New York City. By the way, I'm not logged on under my Wikipedia name because I'm at a work computer and I've forgotten my password, but my Wikipedia name is "Powersman," and I've contributed a fairly large number of articles over the past six or seven months, mostly involving old television shows and films. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.173.0.58 (talkcontribs)

This is "Powersman" again about the Doc Holliday page. Thanks, I can certainly see how you might assume my insertion about Doc Holliday's bar is a practical joke if you've never actually been there and seen the place (the whole bar is a tribute to Doc Holliday). I'll have to go in and figure out my password when I get home and start logging on properly from now on when I make additions. Thanks for your quick response. (Hope to see you at Doc Holliday's on Avenue A one day.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.173.0.58 (talkcontribs)

admin poll?

[edit]

Hello, and thanks for your response. Were you planning on posting the results of your poll anywhere? I'm curious how other Wikipedians have responded. --Tachikoma 23:55, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA

[edit]

Hi Anonymous anonymous/Talk Section Archives Page 3,

Thank you for supporting my RFA! Unfortunately it did not succeed mainly because most opposers wanted me to spend more time on Wikipedia. Thank you for your faith in me & looking forward to your continued support in the future.

Cheers

your custom welcome template

[edit]

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thanks for welcoming people though! Keep it up! —L1AM (talk) 06:21, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Poll?

[edit]

Hey there! I got a message from you, but Tony reverted it and deleted the template before I had a chance to read it. I propose that you create it as your subpage, for example User:Anonymous anonymous/message, and then deliver it by placing {{subst:User:Anonymous anonymous/message}}. Cheers! Question 1. Are you an Administrator?

Not yet.

Question 2a. If you are when did you become an administrator?

Question 2b. If you're not has anyone nominated you to become one?

Not yet, but some have proposed that I should run (on IRC mainly).

Question 3. Would you like to become an administrator someday?

Yes, I would. My schedule plans an Editor review by the end of May and an RfA at least a month later.

Anonymous_anonymous_Have a Nice Day 14:45, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here you are. Cheers! Misza13 T C 14:53, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Community Justice Newsletter

[edit]

Community Justice Newsletter

Welcome
Previously, various notices regarding Community Justice have gone out to our members; though this is the first actual newsletter. This issue will contain information regarding decisions made on the first meeting, our new council, and more...!

If you wish to unsubscribe to future newsletters, please add your name to Wikipedia:Community Justice/Do Not Spam.

New Council
Following our first elections, a new council has been elected.Computerjoe and Ian13 remain as chairman and chief executive (respectively); while Eddieh, Wiki alf and Xchrisblackx are replaced as councillors by Ilyanep, Osbus and Covington. The Giant Puffin and Pureblade remain as councillors.
Member Conduct
In the last meeting, the conduct of 4 members were discussed. Ethnopunk will be put on probation, supervised by Ian13, if he/she is uncivil during this probation, he/she will be expelled from WP:CJ; the same was decided for Misza13 (voluntarily), and his probation will be supervised by Computerjoe. No action will be taken against Computerjoe.
Barnstar
The Civility Barnstar which our member's have designed has been sent to Barnstar and award proposals. We'd appreciate your feedback!

Also, we are planning to make a Community Justice barnstar to give to hard-working CJ members. If you're a budding designer, consider trying to make it, then post your proposal to WT:CJ!

Name and logo change
There has been no consensus reached regarding changing our name and/or logo neither at WT:CJ nor at WT:CJ/M/1. While suggestions are still welcome, no action will be taken at this time.
Programs
We are going to try to create programs to more actively involve our members. If you have any ideas, please drop a line at WT:CJ. We will try to work with WP:ESP on one of these programs, at some point in the future.
Thanks!
Thank you for your time. If you need anything, feel free to comment at WT:CJ or come into our IRC channel [1].

Computerjoe wishes to extend his thanks to User:Robchurch, a non-member who assisted in making {{tracker}} redundant, as well as Misza13 for his continued support and to the whole of this and the previous council.

This newsletter was delivered by CJBot, written by Computerjoe, with technical help from Misza13. Computerjoe's talk 19:30, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

[edit]
Dear Anonymous anonymous — Thank you for your support on my recent RfA. It succeeded with a final tally of 72/2/0 and I am now an administrator. I'll be taking things slowly at first and getting used to the new tools, but please let me know if there's any adminnery I can help you with in the future. —Whouk (talk) 18:10, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

re:Happy Birthday

[edit]

Thank you so much for your kind words on this, my 1 year Wikibirthday. It's been a long year, but I've learned a great deal, and thanks for joining in. With any luck, we'll both be around come February 25, 2007, so I can wish you the same. Happy editing, Mysekurity [m!] 20:46, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Signature

[edit]

Hello. I have noticed you have been updating the wikidefcon template. I was wondering if you could add some space to your signature. The underscores don't break at the end of a line, and therefor your sig increases the width of the template. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but the wdefcon template is transcluded in a number of pages, including my userpage. Changing the width of the template breaks my userpage, so if you could change the underscores to spaces, that would be great. Here is an example of what happens. On the left is the template with your sig, on the right with no sig. Prodego talk

Hi Anonymous anonymous, thanks for supporting my request for adminship! Unfortunately, it ended with a final tally of 45/15/2, no consensus. I may have another go in the near future, once the school year is over. Thanks again! -- getcrunkjuicecontribs 23:00, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Welcome, Anonymous anonymous to Wikipedia:WikiProject Proposed Deletion Patrolling! It's an ugly job but someone has to do it, and I'm glad you've signed up. You can help by adding the project page to your watchlist. When you want to do some patrolling, take a look at the task list which will help us coordinate our efforts. You can monitor this from a user page or anywhere else by adding {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Proposed Deletion Patrolling}} to that page and checking it from time to time. Thanks again! Is there any way the pictures/emblems of certain organizations be changed on their wiki pages? I adding/tried replacing the Central Reserve Police Force's official emblem, however could not succeed. Also, is there a way I get notified by email of the changes or fresh editings on the pages I keep on "watch" ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DPUpadhyay (talkcontribs)

[edit]

Thank you for your vote on my RfA. Unfortunately there was no consensus reached at 43 support, 18 oppose and 8 neutral. I've just found out that there is a feature in "my preferences" that forces me to use edit summaries. I've now got it enabled :) Thanks again. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 15:40, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arts

[edit]

A lot of people (including me) has listed their names onto the proposed projects page under arts. The project shall proceed. Notify me on my talk page if you're starting to create the page of your proposed wikiproject. Anonymous_anonymous_Have a Nice Day 15:01, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm terribly sorry, but the project has been up and running for weeks at Wikipedia:WikiProject Arts! I was sure I'd put up a project now underway message on the proposal page, but either the edit didn't process or somebody's taken it off. Again, sorry to have left you out! Anyone else on the list who still hasn't posted on the talk page for WP:WPArts is about to get notification of the project's existence on theirs. HAM 17:21, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal Proof

Thank you for voting for my recent RfA, which passed (to my extreme surprise and shock) with a total tally of 66/15/2. CorbinSimpson's Request for Adminship

[edit]
Thanks for voting in my request for administrator rights, even though it failed (13/30/4). Sadly, work has forced me to respond to you all using a substituted message rather than a personalized response. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that administrators, to me, should be chosen and approved by the community, and I will continue working to become a better editor and Wikipedian. No matter what the alignment of your vote was, I will take your comments seriously and use them to improve myself. If you wish to discuss your comments personally with me, I would be more than glad to talk about things since the RfA is now over; just leave your concern on my talk page and we will sort things out. Thanks again for voting, and happy editing! - Corbin Be excellent
