I found this kind of Davies' equation HLB = 7 + Є Hh - Є Hl

Є Hh is the sum of Hh (I can't find appropriate sign for the sum)
Є Hl is the sum of Hl

but see the difference! there's a MINUS, not plus! I think we might check some other sources! 213.151.228.223 10:05, 27 May 2007 (UTC)marian[reply]

I don't understand what is hydrophilic portion? If I have example -CH2-OH, is the hydrophilic portion only the H or the OH or is it C-OH? I would like this to be clarified in the article or linked to explanation --Clocktwibright (talk) 13:08, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think hydrophilic part is -OH 103.139.237.25 (talk) 12:20, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

List of corresponding HLBs and surfactant functions

[edit]

The current list of HLBs and corresponding surfactant functions does not match the lists given in any of the three cited references for this article. I plan to fix this shortly if no one can tell me where the current list is from. Drock221989 (talk) 06:12, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
