GA Review
[edit]Hello I am Gears of War and I will note any problems, when the article has passed a part of GA criteria and etc.Gears Of War 20:52, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- The article does not meet GA quick fail criteria. 20:55, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
As of 6/3/08 I am reviewing the article a second time to make sure no problems were overlookedGears Of War 22:20, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Problems
[edit]- I have found something I dont exactly think shouldn't be in the article. "It is a Breakout clone",what do you mean by clone think about changing that to duplicate, or something, anything but clone.Gears Of War 21:08, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Why is Breakout clone listed as the genre? That makes no sense, please clarify under discussion.Gears Of War 21:11, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Whats with all the Break clone refrence, it must be notable to the game to get mentioned so many times.Gears Of War 21:13, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- To cover the clone comments on the whole, if you check the Breakout clone page itself, you'll see the exact definition of one is a game that features a ball with a paddle to bounce against blocks, which is the core of Alleyway's gameplay. So by definition, being a breakout clone is indeed notable to its existence (added to the fact it was compared heavily to fellow clone, Arkanoid). You can't call it a duplicate either: that implies instead the game is a more direct copy of BreakOut instead.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 23:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- There is a missing word at "The player starts the game with five paddles and each time the ball fall into the pit below the player,(?)one of these paddles is removed and the ball is reset."Add a word where the (?) is.Gears Of War 21:19, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- The only word in place of the ? I can think you'd mean is "then", but the sentence would not be as grammatically correct with it there as without.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 23:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- I meant to say add the player looses one os these paddles which is indeed correct grammmar.Gears Of War 12:17, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- In the development section it says it cost Y800, try adding a refrence and the cost in the dollar also.Gears Of War 21:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Removed the price. All games apparently did cost the same price in yen anyway and a reference would be difficult to find at this point (they weren't available in the US anyway; Nintendo Power was a Japan-only feature and not related to the magazine itself).--Kung Fu Man (talk) 23:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- And also the portal image is dead.Gears Of War 21:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Fixed.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 23:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Good things
[edit]- All images are covered under fair use rationale.Gears Of War 21:16, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- The Ball Behavior section is awesome, it is clear and gives the reader a good sense of how the ball reacts to it's inviorment, the best section of the article.Gears Of War 21:23, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Factually accurate.Gears Of War 21:42, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Broad in coverage.Gears Of War 21:42, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Written in NPOV.Gears Of War 21:42, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
My decision
[edit]I will have to put the article on hold until the necesaties as spelled out above are tended to. Thank-you.Gears Of War 21:43, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
