DescriptionChile-03536 - Ahu Huri a Ureng (49073083336).jpg
English: Ahu Huri a Urenga is in the interior of the island. It is a platform 13 meters long by 4 meters wide (42.65 by 13.2ft), with a single moai that has two pairs of hands. There is no indication as to why it is carved that way.
Behind the ahu is a cremation platform, this is repeated at most of the island’s ahu. It is believed that this structure was used for funeral rituals (cremation).
This moai looks where the sun rises during the austral (southern hemisphere) winter solstice (June 21st).
The moai that is on the Ahu Akapu has a height of 4 meters (13.1ft).
