"Donna"
Song

Donna is the first single by British Art Rock/Pop Music|Pop band [10cc]] released in 1972 it peeked at #2 on the UK Singles Chart yet failed to have an impact anywhere else. Donna was written by Kevin Godley and Lol Creme.

Donna was originally written as potential B-side to the song "Waterfall" and was heavily inspired by Frank Zappa's 1950s doo-wop parodies, although it has also been said to be a parody of The Bee Gees. The song features sharp contrasts between falsetto in the chorus and deep monotone vocals in the verse.

"We knew it had something. We only knew of one person who was mad enough to release it, and that was Jonathan King." Eric Stewart on Donna
