A Beautiful Affair is an upcoming 2012 Philippine television drama to be broadcasted on ABS-CBN and worldwide on The Filipino Channel topbilled by Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. It is set to premiere in October 29, 2012 replacing Walang Hanggan.[1][2][3]
The drama revolves around two strangers who meet and fall in love in the beautiful city of Vienna. [4][5][6]
Overview
Background
A Beautiful Affair celebrates Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz's 10th year anniversary as an on-screen love team. The drama was first hinted by ABS-CBN on November 2011 as a blind item, however several articles were released a month later from various sources confirming this.[7][8] The drama is produced under the unit of Laurenti Dyogi and directed by Katski Flores whose first work on television was headwriting Cruz and Alonzo's first drama together titled, Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay back in 2002. It is the third Filipino drama to be broadcasted on television in high definition. Filming began in May 16, 2012 in Vienna, Austria.[9]
Promotion
The drama was featured in a news program broadcasted on ORF, the national television station of Austria earlier in the year.[2] The first teaser was released on September 21, 2012 via its predecessor, Walang Hanggan.[10] Prior to this, the drama was promoted in the ABS-CBN Ulan Station ID and served as the music video's main highlight with lead actors Cruz and Alonzo.[11] Dubbed as the "long-awaited return of the love team that defined a generation," the full-length trailer was played during the screening of the The Mistress in cinemas before it was officially released on September 27, 2012 via Princess and I.[12][13] Once again, the drama served as the main highlight of the upcoming ABS-CBN programs trade launch at the NBC tent titled, "A Beautiful Affair with ABS-CBN: An Intimate Evening With The Stars".[14] On October 8, 2012 the third official teaser was released during Ina, Kapatid, Anak's pilot episode.[15]
