Beth Mugo holds a Diploma in Business Management from [[Goldey-Beacom College]], completed a certificate course in Mass Media from Syracuse University in New York, and received a National Teachers’ Certificate from Kambui Teachers Training College in [[Kiambu]].<ref name=comm/>

She has been a headmistress at Kiganjo Primary School, held various top positions with the then Voice of Kenya Television (now the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation), and served as a director of the Kenya Women Finance Trust, a national organization founded and managed by women, to provide easy business loans to women. She is also a member of Women’s World Banking, an international micro-finance organisation that also provides loans for women.<ref name=comm/>

Mugo is a founder member and director of the Kenya Management Assistance Program, a national consultancy firm for new enterprises, and the founding national chairperson and national patron of the Kenyan chapter of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women.<ref name=comm/>

She is also the executive director of Lobby Hotels, a joint Kenyan-German venture in the hotel industry. She is the founder and managing director of Beth International Ltd., a chain of retail outlets specializing in the export of African artifacts and jewellery.<ref name=comm/>

In addition to being a founder member of the [[Social Democratic Party]] (before it merged with the PDU in 2007), Mugo was a national coordinator of women’s affairs for the party. Hon. Beth Wambui Mugo (b. 11 July 1939 in Kiambu district) is a Kenyan politician. She belongs to Party of National Unity and was reelected to represent the Dagoretti Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the Kenyan parliamentary election, 2007,[1] since initially appointed in 1997. In addition, Mugo is the Kenyan Minister for Public Health and Sanitation.[2]

Biography

Beth Mugo holds a Diploma in Business Management from Goldey-Beacom College, completed a certificate course in Mass Media from Syracuse University in New York, and received a National Teachers’ Certificate from Kambui Teachers Training College in Kiambu.[2]
